Good morning, Ooos!
The sunrise this morning is such a tease. It looks incredible but the rain is supposed to roll in later this morning. I am sort of (very slightly!) glad that it is going to rain, the pollen here is god-awful. If the sun stays out long enough, I have some more seedlings that can be planted and some wood slats that I am using to make a small border next to the woods. They are separating my flowers from the weeds ;) They are also a visual reminder for me to stay back since that is the area where the poison ivy is growing. You can see from the blisters all over my arms and ankles that I need that warning. LOL

I dusted all of my lilies with diatomaceous earth but I think I waited too long, the bottom leaves on several of them are all chewed up and gone. Darn beetles. Right now and for the next month are when I like the flowers the best. Everything is either just done blooming or getting ready to bloom even the spent flowers are still mostly green and full.
My main thing to do today is to come up with some dinners so I can place my food shopping order. No one was eating together for the last 2 weeks so it was easier to do quick things or leftovers. Caitlyn will be home on the days she is working. She liked her first day there, mostly getting herself set up and organized in her office. The only thing that she is bummed about is that she doesn't have the same view as her old/intern office. That looked out over the campus grounds which are very pretty. Lots of trees and squirrels. The goofy girl texted me that she was going to be late getting home because she forgot that she parked in the Staff Lot and didn't realize until she got to the Student Lot and could not find her car! :p

wishing all of you a fantastic day!

@bcgal00 how do you make your cauli mash? I have two bags of frozen cauliflower that I don't know what to do with.
That is wonderful that Krystal will get to visit on weekends!
ST- We watched Episode 5 (Dear Billy) and I liked it. Sure, it was a little cheesy but if it is supposed to have an 80s vibe, is *has* to be cheesy, right? LOL

@taxed4ever You had a super busy Sunday, your Gary sure is spoiled by your baking :)
I never deadheaded my Rhodo, just sweep up the petals after they fall, is that supposed to help? I clipped the stalks on my irises yesterday, I wish they would bloom longer too.
Do you see "wild" Rhodos on your hikes? They are prolific in the woods here and I am always amazed by how big they get.
Sure hope all goes well for him and that he doesn't drive your Mom crazy during his recovery!!
You and me both, but no way will I take that bet!! *shakes head firmly*

@felis- awww, cute kitty!

Rae- drat that you didn't; get out on your walk, but I bet the pups were thrilled to go to the park instead. Have fun on the walk today!

@LSlycord arghhhhhhhhh What a day! Was the bite deep? poor Shaun. Even though you said that you didn't need workman's comp, can you submit the bill anyway? Definitely try!

xoxo

Best part of Stranger Things is that it is soooo 80s. The music, clothes, everything. Even that terrible "new Coke" LOL (I'm not even sure if the coke we have now are the old or the new, I just remember all the craziness about the "new Coke") We were about the same age as Billy, Nancy, Steve, etc. when the show is set, so it's so much fun to see. True trip down memory lane.

I'm a bit stressed. Tomorrow we're going to the archive in Stockholm. I'm a bit worried I won't find anything, and I'm really trying to keep my hopes at the lowest level. I will be so disappointed if I don't find at least a hint about where Grandpa were in 1940-1941. I'm even having a hard time preparing for the visit, like checking what stuff to go through. It's so me: preparing by avoiding everything I really should be doing. (Like - it's 2 pm here now, and I haven't even had my morning shower yet LOL)

Got up super early (for me) at 6 am, so that I won't be a zombie tomorrow, when I need to get up at 4am. We will try and leave home around 5 am, to get to Stockholm when they open at 9 am. Then the archive closes at 4 pm, and we'll have that 4+hr drive to get home. I'll prepare a salad with pasta, egg, veggies & feta cheese later tonight. Just put it in a cooler bag & we can eat lunch quickly by the archive. Not wasting any time to go get lunch. Probably will have dinner at a Max restaurant (Swedish chain of hamburger restaurants) on our way home.

Plan was to sleep all Thursday ... but ... just got a message from Urban. I'm working 9.45am to 6 pm on Thursday. Yay! New plan: sleep all Friday. :)

Now I really need to get going. See you Friday ... or Saturday if I'm sleeping the Friday away. LOL I might pop in from work on Thursday though, if it's a slow day.

Good morning ladies. I'm heading out the door in a minute to go for an early morning photo walk at two nearby ponds. I am hoping to get some pics of loon babies. Even if I don't see them, it is always nice to just stroll around the pond and enjoy the fresh air.

The new countertops are being installed today, so Jen's place will be finished. All we are waiting for is our dishwasher which should come this summer sometime. I ordered 3 big prints and 3 small that I can pick up today so we will finally have something on the wall in the living room area. I'll pick out a few more this week. I've got a lot of spaces to fill up so it's going to take awhile.

Gotta go. Back later.

Going to be a busy day. Got a challenge LO done this morning and added to the gallery/challenge plus other sites. Got a bunch of CT commitments to do today so will be busy with them for a few hours. Need to run a couple of errands so will fit that in sometime between other stuff.

Going to be a scorcher for the rest of the week. 100+*F every day! ! ! ! Yes, the A/C will be turned on and running most of the time. Glad grandson got the filter changed when he did. Those are more like late August temps.

I took time to up-date my DVD inventory a couple of days ago. I have been indulging in watching some of the DVD movies instead of reading this week. Since I now have all but the last Harry Potter movie, I have been watching them (2-3 a day). I had only seen 1 of them before this. Hope to finish watching the last 3 in the next day or so. DD#3 is a huge fan of Harry Potter and now I get why she liked them. Guess you are never too old to enjoy a good series regardless of the age of the main characters. :D

@faerywings So sorry you got into the Poison Ivy vines. Hope the itching isn't too bad.

@bcgal00 Thanks for telling us about Jen's space... that makes lots of sense that you can be in one house yet have your own spaces. Hoping the dishwasher comes soon.

@LSlycord So sorry to hear about Shawn's dog bite. Yes, he should file for workman's comp. You never know what might come from it later. Better to do it and not need it.

@tanteva Sending good hunting vibes your way and hope you find out something about your dad during the war.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning everyone! A lovely sunny morning for a change. It will be a great day to get out for a long walk! I managed to almost complete a layout yesterday, so will put the finishing touches on it this morning and get that posted in the gallery. Otherwise not too much to do today. I have to get a birthday gift for Hunter and start looking at flights to Ottawa in August. DH and I have got companion flights to use up with West Jet so sure hope we can get a good flight with them. Heather will be calling soon, hope for her sake that both boys are back to school. Hunter was home yesterday, he is tired and ready for school to be over with. Poor little guy is only 4 and the days at school really tucker him out. His birthday is coming up at the beginning of July, he is getting very excited for his special 5th birthday.

@faerywings - Sorry to hear that the pollen is so bad for you right now. We just got over our bad pollen and now will be dealing with the fluff and pollen from the cotton wood trees, UGH!! That darn fluffy stuff sticks to everything! We need to paint our front porch steps again this year and now will have to wait for all that fluff to be done with. Its never ending. I think I read somewhere that deadheading your Rhodos is supposed to encourage more growth, but I could be wrong. I do it mostly because I have two huge ones in the front and they look so ugly when they are done, so I pluck the dead blossoms just so it looks better. However there are still so many bees hovering around I don't usually get to do too much plucking. Ouch on the poison ivy!! Hope that you are not suffering too badly with it! Enjoy your day!

@tanteva - Good luck with your trip to the archives! I sure hope you are able to find the information you are looking for about your Dad!

@bcgal00 - Have a wonderful walk around the pond this morning, I hope you get to see the baby loons!! Sounds like everything is just about done with the move and how nice to have the new prints on your walls! I bet they look great! Hope your dishwasher gets delivered quickly! That is great that Jen's place is all complete now with lovely new countertops!!

@BrightEyes - Yikes what warm temps you are getting!! You will be so glad that you have your AC up and running! How fun to watch the Harry Potter movies!! I loved them all, but my DH was not a big fan. So I just watched them on my own and loved every minute LOL. You are going to be very busy with all of your CT work today!

@LSlycord - Ouch poor Shaun!! Hope he is ok! Ouch on the cost for the pharmacy visit too!! Hope that your day is going better today!

Well I better get busy and empty the dishwasher and make the bed before Heather calls! It is nice that we can now start to plan our trip out to see everyone. Sad though that they all won't be making a trip out here to enjoy the lake and fun days on the beach. Oh well we will have to take what we can get. Have a great day everyone!

Hello lovelies,

I think I checked in yesterday - my days are pretty busy with an 11 year old here. Thanks to the rain, camp got pushed to afternoon yesterday and 6:30 to 8:00 today. Ugh.

I'm trying to keep my head above water with my CT work, but it's hard to do much without an interruption. I should have said I'd be MIA - just didn't want to do that. I can't miss ALL the fun. Ava's taking Asher and Addie to see the Painted Rocks in a few and then dropping him off at camp. I'll try to get back then.

XOXO

Good evening ladies! Today is a much better day. I made blueberry pancakes for supper. And everyone ate them, even the one (DH) who doesn't like breakfast for supper.

Sydney got her dorm assignment today. She got an apartment style dorm and so there will be 2 bedrooms, with 2 twin beds each. Then there is a very small kitchen with oven and refrigerator and a bathroom to be shared by 4 girls. So now that we know which dorm she is in, we can begin buying. Roommate assignments won't come along until around the 10th of July but at least we can figure out a few things. Yes...you know me...craziness ensues if I don't know what is going on. It is a 13 story dorm so my first comment was...what do you do when you hear the fire alarm?! It can't be easy being my kid! Anyhow, a quick round of personals.

@faerywings glad that Cait is able to be back working. And while I'm sure it was easier not cooking for the past couple of weeks, I also know that you are thrilled to have everyone together around the table.

@tanteva I can't wait to hear the results of the trip to Stockholm. Exciting stuff. Waiting until Friday to catch up on sleep may be a bit of a hardship. You may want to spend the weekend without much planned.

@bcgal00 you are really making progress on the house! Very nice. Hope the walk around the ponds were productive...in other words, lots of photos!

@BrightEyes of my...100 temps already. We are having temps in 90's with feels like temps of 100, but now I guess I won't complain. o_O

@taxed4ever I'm so excited that you and DH get to head out to see the kids this summer. I'm sure having them come home is the best...but being able to see them and the grands is really the very best!

@Cherylndesigns I'm amazed that you are keeping up this well with an 11 year old around. But, oh the happiness that combines with that exhaustion is definitely worth it all!

Ok...going to head for the gallery for a bit. Then maybe a layout.
