How are you doing today? I am back to waking up at 4 am again, freezing my butt off and being squished by dogs. Thank goodness for coffee, what would I do without it?
Update on the trip to the new bagel shop: We went in the morning and the bagels were good! The place is adorable inside and they had a chocolate cake that looked amazing. I worked out in the yard, raking the area where the bunnies were living. Since I was sad about them, I had left that spot alone but it was time. Poor Garter Snake Friend though, I spooked him when I moved one of the buckets away from the house. After that, I ended up leaving that section alone-- again. So what if there are a ton of leaves there? ;)

I called my parents in the afternoon who the heck knows what is going on with them. Not me, that's for sure. pfft. My dad answers and he is in a mood, my mom gets on the phone and she is in a mood. I offer to come down and help them today and what a runaround. :rolleyes: I was so thrown off that I forgot to ask them about Father's Day which was a main reason I had called. I will call them in a while and see what's up- if they need me to come down or not. (Give me strength!)

If they don't need me, I should do some scrapping. I got a few new pics of the rats that I have been sending to Cait and these babies are just tooooo cute.
Tip for Tuesday:
You all *have* to watch this-- I sent it to Caitlyn and she hadn't seen it yet but OMG-- I was LMBO and so was she.

There is no way he can be 10. That seems even crazier to me than Christopher being 12. Mason should still be a little guy. What is actually happening to time?
Your Gary still hasn't made an appt to see that Dr about the hernia?? He can't make an appt with the dr knowing full well that there is going to be a wait to get seen? Say it with me, ladies: MEN!! :mad: I hope that he doesn't feel too awful while he waits but August is coming up, doesn't he want it checked out before the family comes?
Your yard must be looking beautiful and whew, thank goodness the neighbors got rid of the dead tree.

@bcgal00 Where did you decide to go for the 2024 cruise? Both places sound amazing!

@Cherylndesigns Isn't that the way it goes, rip apart a room to find something and end up finding everything *except* what you were looking for??
I know that I have shared the stories of my dog destroying several couches. I'd sit on the floor forever if I could have her back. :brokenheart:
I am going to tell Gary about the Meclizine. I am already nervous about how he is going to be able to last through the wedding.
As much as I complain about the water pressure here and worry about droughts, I love the way my well water tastes.

@vickyday sea bands are supposed to help motion sickness/nausea through acupressure spots on your wrists. You can get them pretty much at any pharmacy or grocery store.
I am glad that you made it through the test- Good thoughts that everything comes back "good" but has an answer to make you feel better.

@BrightEyes KAY!!!!! How wonderful to see you!! I am glad that you are turning the corner and hope that you'll be back more often when you are ready xo

Good Morning!
So, I did nothing yesterday afternoon after getting back from the testing!
This morning I caught up on the dishes that I let pile up in the sink on Sunday and Monday.
I expected Ilene to call by now but nothing yet.
I did some reading last night about the item on the papers given to me by the doctor yesterday when I left. She was concerned about an "ileo-cecal valve - nodular mucosa". So the first thing I did was to find out what an ileo-cecal valve is. In my Google search I was taken to the National Institute of Health site. "The ileocecal valve is a sphincter muscle situated at the junction of the ileum (last portion of your small intestine) and the colon (first portion of your large intestine). Its function is to allow digested food materials to pass from the small intestine into your large intestine. The ileocecal valve also blocks these waste materials from backing back up into your small intestine. It is intended to be a one-way valve, only opening up to allow processed foods to pass through."

Upon further reading I discovered that if this valve is not working properly it may cause SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) like symptoms due to reflux of fecal flora and the production of gas within the small intestine and/or production of gas within the colon, with reflux of the gas into the small intestine. Guess what the symptoms are/could be?

nausea
vomiting
stomach fullness
not able to finish normal sized meal
feeling excessively full after meals
loss of appetite
bloating
stomach or belly visibly larger
upper abdominal pain
upper abdominal discomfort
lower abdominal pain
lower abdominal discomfort
diarrhea
gas from above
gas from below.............

I have been having most of those symptoms, as you know from my reports on here! That is probably why, even though I have not eaten anything today, I have acid reflux this morning already!

Now I need to read up on the "nodular mucosa" part.

OK! There is your biology lesson for today! ;). If this defect can be fixed (the doctor told me surgery would be required) maybe my symptoms would all go away! I can only hope!

Morning O-zies!! It is another sunny warm morning and I so would love to be out on the lake in my kayak! However I am already showered, dressed and ready to go to my hairdresser in a bit. At least it will be all good to have my hair all done before noon and I can maybe get a few other things done. I really, really need to get Isaac's birthday card finished and put in the mail. He will be 15 years old this June 16th!!! OMG he will be learning how to drive soon, that is not possible is it??:eek2:. I bet I will see a huge change in him when they are here in August! He has always been so sweet and loves to hug me, I hope that hasn't changed!

@faerywings - What is up with your Mom and Dad I wonder??? Sometimes I get off the phone with MIL and laugh as I don't even have a clue as to what we were talking about and often have to phone back to ask the question that I originally called for. :crazy:
I hope that your Gary can find something to make him feel better, he needs to be in top form for the wedding! I know right MEN!! sometimes I could just throttle my husband, but he will eventually come around and get that appointment made. I told him I will not feel sorry for him or help him anymore until he does I really need to have a shirt that says I am with stupid when he acts like this!! :imwithstupid: but this smiley will have to do for today! Don't you just love having all these fun smileys back in the forum!! That video was so darn funny!! I love how he keeps checking to see if the lady is still watching! :giggle4:

@Cherylndesigns - I often clean out my entire craft room looking for something specific and never find what I am looking for, it is so frustrating!! However it does make me toss some things that I just don't need. LOL

@BrightEyes - Kay how wonderful to see you here again! I hope that you are feeling much better and will soon be back here more often!

@vickyday - Thanks for the biology lesson and it does sound like you might have to have some surgery, but remember its google that you are getting this info from and it can't always be trusted!! I hope that your acid reflux goes away this morning, it is so awful that you are having that when you haven't even had anything to eat yet. Take care of you!! :hug2:.

Hello ladies. I'm late in here today. I got up and went to the beach for sunrise...that is my happy place for sure. It was beautiful. Not a lot of people out...it was low '60's and I loved it!

@faerywings I hope that your dad and mom will decide that they can use some of your help and then they will be happy while you are there. Must seem very strange with no kids around. I loved the squirrel video. I had a squirrel run in front of my car on the way to the beach :rolleyes:. I, of course, slammed on the brakes and he turned and went back where he came from.

@bcgal00 I am so anxious to try our cruise in December. I am hoping that we like it as much as you and D do. Then I can start looking for more exotic locations. I must admit, the British Isles sound nice.

@vickyday glad that things went well yesterday and that you got some rest. I hope that they find the problem and fix it. Those symptoms are no way to live a full life!

@taxed4ever I am so glad that you were talking about birthdays. Happy belated to Mason...and yep, I bet Isaac will have really changed. Has his voice changed yet? Anyway, you reminded me that today is my youngest niece's birthday. Fortunately, I always just Venmo money so no card necessary. She is 20 today...she is the one that is right between Shaun and Syd. Tomorrow is my oldest niece's birthday. She will be 33. Goodness...that doesn't seem possible. Anyway, thank goodness for Venmo.

@BrightEyes I'm so glad to see you back here. Just don't overdo...we will be thrilled with whatever time we can get.

@Cherylndesigns I bet that well water tastes great. I never drink the tap water here. Yuck...

@Su_Sanne I wish you were here. Sydney went to a VW plant near Wolfsburg today on a field trip and I keep wondering if that is where you used to work. Here's a picture of her. She really is leading her best life. And I will be leading mine when she gets back here to me.;)

The song lyrics that go through my head. "The skies will unfold", "Majesty, worship His Majesty", "How Great is Our God"...I could go on and on. "Worshipful" is a perfect description.
