I screwed up the date yesterday and realized that at dinnertime. *Why* I was thinking about the date here at dinnertime-- not a clue. But I see that you figured it out way before me. Whenever I mess up the day, someone with Mod Powers please go ahead and fix it. No point for me to confuse everyone else. :giggle4:

How was your Monday, June 3?
I'd love to say that I got everything done that I needed to and that I spent the rest of the day in the gardens. I guess I *could* say it but it would be a lie. Gary's endo appt went well and I picked out a pair of hiking shoes. I'm so glad that we went to an outdoor/camping store to try them on. Everyone I know recommends Merrels but the guy had me try them on first and then Oboz. The Oboz were so much better. My mom is getting them for me for my birthday so now I will look for them online and see if there's a sale somewhere, and then order them for her.
I had the best conversation with Scott too. Man, I love that kid so much. Did I ever tell you I have THE BEST kids ever? Oh, only a gazillion times??? I'd better say it some more then Bwuhahah! I texted him to say how much I liked his coworkers that I met in the class. He worked with the woman yesterday and she told him how much she liked me :D Scott told me how awesome it feels to have coworkers and friends at his two "real" jobs tell him how nice I am. He is so incredibly supportive of me.♥

I am cleaning for my friend this morning and will be working on bridal shower stuff this afternoon.
Hugs to you all!

@taxed4ever How is the unpacking going? are you seeing a light at the end of the tunnel yet? Or is it just one more box of lamps?
I hope the rainbow was a good omen for the day and everything went smoothly for you all. I can't imagine how tired you must be. Lives-- back to normal?? What is that and I hope you find it. LOL

@Cherylndesigns I hate that feeling of fighting with a LO. Good for you to trash it, that can be hard to do. That's wonderful to hear that you and A had some girl time at the pool recharging yourselves ♥

@AK_Tracy How are you holding up, you were really busy at work and then had to clean the house. I hope you have scheduled a down day today for yourself.
My Mom Voice and Teacher Voice had been out of use but still inside of me, just waiting to catch me unaware. :waiting::furious:
I have a hard time trashing LOs completely. what I usually do is duplicate the document, ignore the original yucky one, strip the copy down, and then rebuild it. That way is not as traumatic :floorlaugh:

@bcgal00 Good luck as you start to shop for new desk/laptops.
So many baby birds- it's really exciting and I hope you get to see the robins soon.

@mimes1 Small but mighty :rotfl: My dad said I am the 5' girl with the 8' mouth.

Cheryl!! The LOs of your office!! Love them!!! Hahahaha!!!!

@vickyday I think I am becoming the team mom at work. One of the kids (he is 19) wasn't feeling well, so I automatically reached into my pack to give him a granola bar. Then I told him he has to eat better because he never eats and we are outside, in the sun, running around with kids all day.
*channels Mrs. Claus from Rudolph - Eat, Papa, eat!!*
WOW!!! The family photos are fabulous! beautiful family!!! Everyone looks so happy together :D
Both of them have such good vibes but if I had to pick one over the other, I'd say the woods one, it captures the essence of the family and activity perfectly!

Isn't it wonderful to know your kids actually like you and especially wonderful to know they love you?!
You must've had a premonition about the date as I think I had a glimpse of some conversation about it! (In other words, they were talking about you!) :floorlaugh::eek3:

Good Morning,
Quick in and out before my sister and I head out to walk and then over to my daughter's house for the day.
Yesterday, @faerywings , June 3rd made 51 years since I graduated HS! Hard to believe!
Kim (my sis) and I walked at the track yesterday. Then I took her to Mark's shop to intro her to his boss and wife (Mark went to school with him). We spent 30 minutes talking with them before we headed back home. We went back to the shop later to get Mark and Noah and go to lunch and then we headed over to my daughter's. I needed to pick up some of the food we accidentally left over there last weekend and had to take something to her. We spent an hour or so over there before heading back home.
After I got home I fixed Mark's favorite hamburger casserole to go with his BBQ bread that he loves. It was ready to eat when he got home at 3:30. Afterwards we did our evening devotions and then he went to the woods and Kim and I chillaxed. She played games while I worked on catching up on my daily ATCs. After I got those done I cleaned up the kitchen, fixed my sleepytime tea and Kim and I played Rummikub while watching TV.
Today, after we walk, we are going to my daughter's and play games and probably go out to lunch.
Tomorrow will be spent with Ilene.
Thursday we will take Ilene and go up to see our dear friend, Carolyn, who is failing quickly. I don't think she has long for this world.
Friday is yet to be determined.
Saturday I will take Kim to the airport in the afternoon for her flight home. And then I will have to get things caught up around the house, especially laundry!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Morning everyone, it is another windy, wet day here, but they are saying sunny skies are on the way. We unpacked and moved boxes all day yesterday and will be doing the same today. The crawl space is jammed packed full of boxes that will most likely never see the light of day again, but MIL insisted that they had to come to the new house. SIL Linda and her Dad butt heads over everything and we are all stressed out over how agitated FIL is he is declining in his mental health and this move has just escalated it!! We need to get them in this place and out of Linda's today or someone is going to be murdered :killer: We are all tired but we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel, but its like what @faerywings said, it could be just a box of lamps :giggle4:. Anyway my Gary is up and its my turn for the :showering:. Some breakfast then its back to work. I hope you all have a less stressful day than we will be having!! :cowwaving:

It's been so busy around here. I am on too many organizations' boards, and am working on getting off a couple. But meanwhile, there's meetings and projects and organizing. Plus, my mom, who is getting ready to sell her place and move into an independent living unit, calls me every day -- do I want this? do I want that? this was your grandfather's xyz, don't you want to keep it? Yikes, no, mom, in 10 years I would just be looking at all this stuff and wondering what to do with it. I do understand it's hard for her, but it does take a lot of my time and energy to try to keep her going. The house will go on the market in a couple weeks and I'm crossing my fingers it sells quickly.
@taxed4ever I can so sympathize with your family moving trials! I just keep thinking will I be putting my daughter through all this later?

Last week was the Blue Ridge Yarn Crawl so I went to eight different yarn stores. No, I wasn't going to buy yarn at every one, just get my entry card signed. But of course, I loved every place and ended up with nine(!) single skeins. Well, I guess there will be socks and hats for Christmas gifts.

And I got the clock I designed for my brother. I am quite pleased with it, but I hope he and his partner don't start saying "it's quarter to Istanbul"

Wow... what a few days it has been!!! Woke up yesterday to no internet and no home phone (both by the same provider). Called and the service tech could not come until 7 AM this morning. Good thing that my cell phone is by another provider so at least I had it to make calls. He arrived right on time, did some checking and got my service back up and running, thank goodness! I also showed him the wet patch by the driveway that was done when they put in the big cable for Xfinity (in March). I have reported it several times... but this tech said he would run it by his boss as it is 'damage during installation'. Also sent him photos of the crew working right where the wet area is. Hopefully this time will get someone out to fix it.

While I was waiting for the tech to arrive, some of the wildlife came visiting.... had a rabbit hopping through the front yard and the Roadrunner running through my yard - and over across the street. Both of them live in the church yard a block down the street. Also had lots of pigeons, robins and humming birds flying around and walking on my driveway, sidewalk and road. The wind was still this morning so they were all out while it was calm.

DD#3 came down before noon... and we loaded up her car and my car with stuff for the garage sale. Spent the rest of the afternoon up there sorting/arranging/tagging things. Her 2 sons were there later on and helped move big/heavy stuff. We were both worn out but most of the stuff is all ready. Didn't get home until 6:30PM - just plopped down on the massager/recliner for half-hour and let it work on the back. Was so glad to crawl in bed early. No need to go back to DD's until Friday - the day of the sale. It is going to a scorcher on Friday (98*) and a tad cooler on Saturday (95*)!!! We will shut it down around 2PM both days before the worse of the heat hits and thank goodness we will have shade in the garage and on the driveway by around 11 AM. Not sure if we sill run the sale on Sunday too. Depends on how much sells Fri/Sat. The canvas folding chair I took up there is very comfortable and easy on the back. Discovered I forgot to take a couple of items (air pump for the air mattress) so have them together in one spot. Both days will have to be up early and on the way - it is a 25 minute drive - and the sale starts at 8AM. Won't be on-line Friday-Sunday. Will have to catch up on my Recipe Challenge posts after the sale is over.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

Everyone I know recommends Merrels but the guy had me try them on first and then Oboz. The Oboz were so much better.
I agree!!!! Merrels aren't for my feet either. I will have to check out this Oboz you talk of. I have never heard of it. Hopefully a store within 200 miles of me carries them and I can try them on.
He worked with the woman yesterday and she told him how much she liked me :D Scott told me how awesome it feels to have coworkers and friends at his two "real" jobs tell him how nice I am. He is so incredibly supportive of me.♥
I love this!!! Scott's awesome and he has an even awesomer mom! Its so wonderful when adult children like us. Feels like we did an okay job and even after the teens years. At least I feel that way. I survived teens and now they like me.
@AK_Tracy How are you holding up, you were really busy at work and then had to clean the house. I hope you have scheduled a down day today for yourself.
Yep, Tuesday is almost always a down day. I got everything but the couches done. Didn't have the energy to move and vacuum them so they'll just have to wait till July's first Monday. But my house is clean and my appliances are cleaned. I can sit today and feel just fine about it. Laundry got done, even drying outside and having a little rain. Had to finish them in the dryer but it wasn't all day in the dryer so that was nice.
My dad said I am the 5' girl with the 8' mouth.
This made me giggle. My loud mouth cousin was a hoot in high school. She always said she had a small mouth cause she couldn't fit her fist in her mouth. So she didn't have a big mouth. She had a small mouth. Yeah but she had a loud voice LOL You knew when she was talking as she made sure you heard her. I almost guarantee her kids never said what mom. :floorlaugh:
BBQ bread that he loves.
What? BBQ Bread??? What is this???? Please dont say you put bbq sauce on a slice of bread. :giggle4: I am envisioning a new amazing loaf of bread that's somehow BBQ in style.
Friday is yet to be determined.
Sounds like a perfect day to rest and recover. I was pooped just reading what you were doing and had planned. Whew. You will need next week to recover.
We need to get them in this place and out of Linda's today or someone is going to be murdered :killer:
This made me giggle with the emoji. Been there with parents in the house. The axe looks better and better :floorlaugh: I hope youre able to get a lot done today and move FIL out of Lindas.
And I got the clock I designed for my brother. I am quite pleased with it, but I hope he and his partner don't start saying "it's quarter to Istanbul"
Oh Terri, I can so see it. I love your clock!! It turned out beautiful. The quarter to Istanbul is a hoot!!!! I hope they dont use it all the time but once would be funny especially if they didn't hear you say it first.

Kay where do you get the energy??? What are you eating to go like this?? I need some of it. I am glad that you got everything done and soon the sale will be over and you can relax a little. Those temps sound......... horrid. :giggle4: I start to shut down at 80 degrees. I just cant do it. I am glad that you'll have some shade. Hope the xfinity issues are fixed and that they get someone to fix the damage that was done during install.

I think I am going to change my user name. All the fun names I have just dont quite fit this past couple days. I am going to change to "problem child". :giggle4: Seems everything I try ends up being odd and weird and why wont it work for me. :floorlaugh:

Off to scrap and scare the sun.

I don't know what is so special about the BBQ bread. It is flatter than a normal loaf of bread and the slices are thicker. Maybe you are supposed to put BBQ on top of the bread and eat it with a fork. Just not sure why Mark loves it. I think it has something to do with his mom serving it with her hamburger casserole while he was growing up. And I fixed the casserole for supper last night for him.IMG_20240604_164027683.jpg

Hi Everyone - it's a late check in here too! We have had a day. You all are going to laugh. You know Ike is having tummy trouble, so today at 3 am he was up and didn't make it to the door in time. So we got him downstairs and outside to clean him up, letting the other two outside at the same time. We're washing Ike off, and then the 92# puppy Reesie starts barking in the corner of the yard and wouldn't stop. Well. He was barking at a skunk, and he got skunked!! And it's 3 am!! So Ike was done enough at that point and we got him in the house, then Mark stayed outside with Reesie while I ran around and first googling de-stinkers, gathered up everything, while making sure the middle child Gunner was skunk free which he was. So we got Reesie cleaned up, then I still had to go upstairs and scoop up poop and clean the carpet. Again. So I've been up since then!! I did grab a fecal sample from the floor and drove it to my nephews clinic today and we'll get results tomorrow when I take Ike in for his Librela injection. Whew! How can you not laugh at that! Such a comedy of events!
I got discharged from PT today for shoulder pain, Mark got his hair and beard trimmed, got some housework done and now I'm ready to relax and make a layout tonight!
Hope you all had a good day!

50 degrees and shorts??? :bowdown2: That is tooo cold for shorts! In San Diego we practically had parkas on anytime the temp dipped below 60. Here we giggle because we've acclimated to different temperatures/humidities etc and 60 - 65 is now comfortable and back in SD it definitely was not.

@BrightEyes Get some good rest between now and Friday! You do seem like the energizer bunny and you have an impressive pace! Everything will surely go well with the garage sale. You've put so much work into it how can it not! I'll be thinking of you this weekend.

@Terri M the clock looks really great! Surely your brother and his partner will love it.
Isn't it wonderful to know your kids actually like you and especially wonderful to know they love you?!

When I was with the girls last week Erinn and I spent a day together just hanging out and doing housework together. In the middle of the day Erinn announced "Mom, I didn't like you much when I was a teenager, but now I can't get enough of you!" :heartpumplove: Erinn as a teenager nearly did me in, so it was especially meaningful. I didn't tell her the feeling was mutual. Hah. It would have killed the moment. :rotfl:

My dad said I am the 5' girl with the 8' mouth.
Too funny! I laughed out loud at this!

Hope you all have a good rest of your evening!

Isn't that the bread they serve in Texas with bbq brisket? I haven't lived in Texas for 45 years but I remember soft white bread, cut thick, with bbq all the time.

I didn't even know it until evening when I found those "My Office" layouts and decided to post them. I thought I had posted them on the wrong date. Chris @faerywings you KNOW it's a standing joke here in the Daily O's that we absolutely don't know what day/date it is - especially you and me. Then, I thought I was wrong. :floorlaugh::rotfl::lol23: How many times have we posted the DAY......the DATE......... a LOT. I said "Oh shoot I just posted them in the wrong thread". Okay, I know it's late, but today is TUESDAY June 4TH. :rotfl::floorlaugh::lol23: I went with Adrienne today to an eye doctor appointment and a patient walked in and nobody know what the date was. See, it's not just us. The guy (the patient) thought it was the 3rd. That's why I keep my phone laying on my desk. I'm always a day off on one of the other.

Anyhoo...................I haven't been around a lot this afternoon. We went to Adrienne's eye appointment, I waited in the waiting room and I got SO cold I felt like icicles were hanging off my nose. I had to go outside to get warmed up. WHY do they keep those places so frigid??? I mean it was like a deep freeze in there. After that, we had to drive through the pharmacy and they didn't have prescriptions ready, then we went to the grocery store. I swear to you that grocerie prices have doubled since we ordered two weeks ago. Granted, we did NOT go to Wally's we were too lazy and in too much of a hurry, but really????? We vowed to put in an order at Wally's from now on. It almost made me sick to my stomach.

Well, I'm getting off of here now. After all the money I spent at the grocery store, I'm going to fix myself a $$$$$$ dinner - I might as well be at a 4 star restaurant. Sorry, I've been on my soapbox. :soapbox:

XOXO

OMG, you guys sure know how to party at 3 am!! Too bad it was a poop party with a side of skunk goofysmile1The things we do for fur babies.

:rotfl:

Too funny! I laughed out loud at this!

Hope you all have a good rest of your evening!
I felt like my oldest son did not like me when he was a kid. But it was just that he was/is not a touchy/feely kind of kid.....totally opposite from my youngest son. Now when my oldest son calls to talk we talk for almost an hour! The youngest son I rarely hear from, LOL!

Isn't that the bread they serve in Texas with bbq brisket? I haven't lived in Texas for 45 years but I remember soft white bread, cut thick, with bbq all the time.
I don't know. I never heard of it until I married Mark. Apparently the store doesn't carry it all the time because I have looked for it before but never found it. When I saw it last week I grabbed it. Maybe it is seasonal!
