Hey there, O-Fam! How ya doing? I am a bit brain discombobulated but that is nothing new or surprising. I slept really well the first part of the night but have been up, tossing around since 3 am.

I have no idea what I accomplished yesterday. I spent an hour and a half on the ShopRite website. It was making me crazy. Searches went all sorts of wrong, it kept timing out, the whole thing was super frustrating. But it is done so I am able to go pick up today.
Caitlyn and I spent much of the day working on the puzzle that my mom got me for my birthday. She picked it out and it is a bunch of forest animals (moose, deer, bear) wearing suits and playing poker. The part she likes best is the head of a hunter mounted on the wall. ;)
She is closer to making a decision about grad school. She thinks she is going to go back. If it is on campus, she will be there for night classes so it will be fewer people than daytime. And if it is remote, she said that she will have to suck it up and deal with it. Either way, she knows that to sit home and do nothing for a year would not be good for her mental state which was one of my biggest concerns. The remote classes, that I know she would find a way to figure out. But to do nothing, that I knew would be difficult for her.

She has a few days to accept the loans and then pay the tuition. I am trying to look into the tuition insurance and for $250/semester I think it is worth it. It doesn't usually cover epidemics, but it is with COVID.

The ridiculous thing we did at dinner was look up what sounds camels make. Couldn't tell you how that came up but Scott made an attempt at what he thought it would sound like and he wasn't far off. Sort of a like a cow/hippo/Demogorgon combo. hehe

Other than picking up groceries, again-- nothing planned. We didn't go for the Rent soundtrack drive yesterday but the supermarket is 20 minutes up the mountain so we might listen to it today.

Gratitudes;
-low humidity and sunshine

Trudy- Your yard must look wonderful! Have you decided what to put in the hydrangea's spot? The zucchini bread sounds delicious! I wish I was growing zucchini this year but I never have much luck.
I am so sorry that you aren't able to go and see this kids this summer. We should be leaving on our cruise this Sunday. Facetiming the family cannot be anywhere near the same as IRL hugs. :(
I will be looking forward to seeing lots of your pages int he gallery soon. I need to get scrapping a bit more -- you have any mojo to spare?
Thx for the support, it is not easy to admit that everything you expect turned to dust. But at least my family is good and we are healthy. (so to speak!)

Felis- I think living near water affects humidity since it is the amount of moisture in the air. All I know is that NJ is humid in the summer. LOL
How nice of your mom to trim your hair a bit shorter for you and still long enough for a short ponytail. My hair is almost always in a bun these days.
I appreciate your support as well, just being able to write things down here helps get my mind in order.

Cheryl- Ummm, yeah... alcohol consumption is up in my house too. I hear ya needing wine-- and coffee- for my own and everyone's safety. Our local liquor stores do curbside, you call in your order, and it is ready when you pick it up. They pop it right into your trunk. Makes it easy. (too easy?? ha!!)
Yup, humidity and steam baths- one and the same. How is the family, all on the road to recovery? Hope so!

 to all of you!

Morning ladies... It is going to be a beautiful day here! The sun is out and the skies are blue, not a cloud out there to be seen! I think that maybe summer has finally arrived to the Island! However it is the same old, same old here and just another groundhog day LOL. Nowhere to go, nothing much to do! I will try to keep myself busy scrapping and making some cards today. Oh and I need to finish the painting that I am working on for Mason. He wanted a painting of two transformers LOL. They are harder to paint than you would think!! I will get out for a walk later and go and get the mail, but other than that I will be enjoying the sunshine today! Tomorrow is hiking day and it will be warm and sunny. The hike is to Bing's Creek so it is close by, so that is nice!

Chris - I am happy that Cait has decided not to opt out for a year with her schooling! She will be happy that she will be busy I am sure! It must take some weight off of your shoulders too! Opps gotta go face time call coming in I will be back in a bit. :sorry:

good morning - I am on my own today which is good. Had a talk with my oldest son. He went for a physical and to figure out about his knees. They asked questions as always and based on how sick he was in Feb. they gave him a Covid antibody test and he was positive. I remember how sick he was as he kept missing hockey games. Some how I never was sick nor do I think his wife was. So weird. He works on Lincoln livery cars with the drivers being mostly from NYC but also so a lot of taking passengers from Newark into NYC. So we are sure that how he got it. He pretty much isolated hisself without even knowing he had to. If we had had testing then - oh well it is what it is. My DH tested negative for Covid we have never tested for antibodies. So strange. I am on the last book and will finish today and then my life will go back to a little more balance. My youngest son asked his future FIL for his blessing to marry his daughter and he said yes. They are all so happy. I am happy too! Been doing lots of walking and reading.

Chris the weather is good. Sun and heat. I am sorry about Cait and Scott and what to do next in their lives. The best for them is they have a huge support group who will help them knowing they have to make their own decisions. My Luther is just hot but goes early and has a great time.

Trudy so sorry you won't be heading east for summer vacation. I feel for those players who get already to play hockey for the best of five series and then to only play at most 5 games before its over. Seems such a waste! I am glad my guys are just hopefully getting stronger and all the aches and pains over with. I have no problem with the players who opt out. Health and family come first!

Kay hope things are going better in the neighborhood and the vandals get caught! Stay cool!

Cheryl I am sure home alcohol consumption is up! I would bet it is because people drink at home now and not in social spots like bars and restaurants. If you are drinking out you hopefully watch how much as you might have to drive. That doesn't happen at home.

Felis I like the idea of a hair cut. I met a neighbor on my walk who is going through the same thing I am gray hair as I am never coloring my hair at home. I am still deciding if I should just cut and forget coloring. I laugh when you say 78 is too hot. Sorry that is barely warm enough for me.

This has been a not so good week already so I am in a <<< :hurt: >>> kind of mood. Yesterday I had a phone appointment with the GI doc [the one I had problems with in the past]. 1st off, he was 1 1/2 hours late on calling then was not happy that I didn't have a smart phone and wanted to postpone talking to me until I "got one of my relatives with a smart phone here"!! He didn't need me to have one as my other docs/PA have done regular phone chats. Then he was insistent that I should have a lower GI test done - even thought I had said I didn't want it done and explained why I didn't and he didn't want to hear it ... that was why I didn't go back to GI in the past. BTW... that is "HIS" area and really all he wants to do. Both my hubby and I have had him in the past for both upper and lower GI test... and his comments were always... you are constipated - even when my hubby was having diarrhea!!! At least he did order my Rx - now I just have to check to make sure he sent it to the Base. I did agree to have the Upper GI scope done but will be very sure that is all that will done. At my age, the risk of the lower GI perforating the intestines is higher and I don't have any problems in that area, so I am not willing to risk it. I will be having a talk with my primary care doc in the future to make sure that she sends me to another GI doc as I am done with dealing with this one. Unfortunately there isn't another GI doc in our local area so will have to see one across town.

Then I contacted my alarm company [had to leave a message] about the vandalism and to request a new sign from them since their sign had been damaged a few months before and is unusable. The gal called back and said that I had to PURCHASE a new sign ($28-$30) even though the sign was over 10 years old and was unusable. I express the belief that had I had a usable sign in the front yard I wouldn't have been vandalized... and that replacing the sign would be something the alarm company should do without charging for it. She said she would refer to her boss... this is the same run-around I got when I first reported the sign had been damaged a few months ago. Still haven't heard back from them... Talked to my DD about it and she said that her old alarm company replaced her signs at no cost as they felt it was a deterrent to theives and good advertising for the alarm company. If it wouldn't cost $$$ to change out the system, I would switch alarm companies.

And to really top off an already crummy day... we had a severe weather warning in mid-afternoon. A storm was heading right for us with winds 55-65 mph. Looked out and the patio swing was already being blown almost horizontal... ran out and laid it over before it got blown over onto the patio table. We had blowing dirt and gusting winds that were pushing the trees sideways. Thought that my neighbor's tree was going to break it was so bad... but fortunately it didn't ... just had a few limbs break off and fly across my yard and on down past the neighbors' yards on the other side. We had thunder and lightening but no rain... the winds kept up for a few hours but not as bad as it was in that 1st hour. The only good thing was the temp dropped from 101 down to 78 but then climbed back into the high 80s. It is heading back up toward 100+ today.

Hope this is not a sign of how this week will be going!!!

Nancy, so sorry to hear that your son had had Covid... but glad that he had a mild case and had done the right things without knowing at the time what he needed to do. But that is what it like in the beginning. BTW, what series are you reading??? I think you said earlier but I must have missed it. Yes, I am also back to re-reading the Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter series... again! They can capture my attention and gets me to relax even during the more stressful times. So happy to hear about your younger son getting engaged! Very wonderful news for the families.

Chris, think Cait is making the right decision to go on toward her Master's degree. Glad there is an insurance to cover in case there is a shutdown for the semester. Wishing her the best and hope it all works out. So sorry that your cruise got cancelled but it was wise that it had... who knew then how bad the pandemic would become.

Trudy, sorry that your travel plans also had to be put on hold. But so glad that you have facetime with the family which keeps you up-to-date on what is happening with family.

Cheryl, glad to see you popping here! Doesn't matter what time of day you pop in... we are always glad to see your posts.

Felis, glad you were able to get your hair cut... is it still long enough to put into a ponytail??? Mine is just getting long enough for that. Haven't had this long in 20+ years. I am ready to get it up off my neck but I need to get some bands to hold it in the ponytail. I waffle back and forth about having DD#1 cut it for me or let it grow longer. The wait time to get an appointment at a salon is over a month now... and with the new restrictions this week.. bet it is even longer.

Time to grab my shower and get dressed as the morning is almost gone. Wishing a good day/week to every one.

Well I am back, finally. Of course after my call I got distracted and started working on another project LOL. Now where was I???

Hi Nancy, guess we did cross post, but oh my what a mixed bag of news you had today! How awful that your son had Covid and that it wasn't tested at the time, but good on him for self isolating!! So what will it mean when they find that he has antibodies for the virus, will they want him to donate blood or have other tests?? Isn't it strange that you nor your hubby got sick at all thank goodness! Then the happy news about your son tying the knott!! How lovely that he asked her father for his blessing! They sound like they are such a lovely couple! Yay a wedding in the family!!

Cheryl - Yup alcohol consumption is certainly up in this household too!! Wine O'clock seems to start earlier and earlier LOL.

Felis - I bet your hair cut is cute and feels so much better! We are able to get our hair done here but must wear a face mask of course. Sorry that your weather is too hot for your liking, you would have loved the temps here last week, it was almost cold. Now summer temps are finally arriving for us and soon I am sure I will be complaining that it is too darn hot LOL. Never happy :nono:

Kay - Oh my goodness you are having the week from hell!! No way should that alarm company be charging you for a new sign!! I say you call them back and tell them that you are changing companies!!! If they don't want to lose you then they better fork over a new free sign for you!!! :rollpin: Yes time for a new doctor too!!! Sheesh one thing after another for you! Sending you lots of good vibes in hopes that things improve greatly for you!

Ok I need to look at the challenges and see if any of them spark some mojo for me today. Have a great afternoon ladies!

That stinks about your GI doctor! Good for you for sticking to your guns and say NO to the lower GI!! If you have no symptoms - why go through that torture? I swear they love doing that to us!!

My hair is SO long and I love it! It's half way down my back and occasionally I trim the ends - just hang my head upside down and cut it straight. I keep my bangs trimmed and otherwise, wear it in a messy bun.

Thanks for loving it WHENEVER I can pop in! I never know whether it will be 2 AM of 2 PM. LOL

Florida is a hotbed for Covid - I think we're leading the country right now! It's SO frightening!! I don't even want to think about going out anywhere especially since my family has definitely been diagnosed as positive. They're on the east coast which is the leading area - the Miami Dade area!!!

OMG, OMG, I have to start with the Nancy's wonderful news:
Congratulations for your son engagement and I wish them true and endlessly happiness ! That's it, that's how the real man act gives ring without postpone!!! So exciting!!! :whoo::tea::flame: :party::party::yo:
Umm, how they will make wedding in present situation? Nevermind! How sweet, how sweet, how lovely and noble to ask her father for permission! I bet you are so proud! Oh, oh did Luther will bring the rings? Or the kids? Did the bride have a right to be in white again, what your church allows? White is so boring! One couple of the most famous bloggers at my country got married wearing tracksuits, was so cool and rebellious! Do you will prepare the wedding alone or with agency? Do agency works now?! So exciting!
Oh, it's anxious that your other son was been sick, sorry to hear that! But I just can't resist to not tell: I told you! Young, healthy, people have nothing to fear! Lung damages, sure, cigarettes make them too, but lots of people still find smoking for sexy. LOL!

So girls, after Nancy's pleasant shocking news, I got so excited that totally forgot for what was plan to talk today, better jump directly to the other personal notes!

Chris, "to sit home and do nothing would not be good for her mental state" .. ouch, that's are stones through in my garden (is that proverb exist on english?! :brick:) LOL, you so easily neglect the fact that the feminism exist from few generations, and women are been housewife centuries before that! I seriously doubt that to take a year for refinements of some housewife skills could be harmful! But I strongly support her, whatever decision she takes! It's her life after all, no other opinions have matter!
Oh, it is so frustrating that cruise will not happened! But I believe in you, find a way to make this summer nice one, you can do it!

Kay, grrr, if this alarm company not care for quality of their sign, how someone will can trust of them at all?! I mean, to put earning on first place not sounds very responsive! Hope you'll be able to switch the companies without extra charge! That for doctors, really sucks to! ITA with you! Most of us are prone to postpone visits if the cabinet is away.
There is nothing to wondering about the haircut, if your daughter is do it before it will be easy-peasy! After all there is tons of videos explaining different hairstyles making. My mom was very passionate about hairstylist skills, at some moment in past, so she do the hairs of our family from ages LOL!

Cheryl, haha, then humidity is something that I'll definitely dislike! Oh it's 2AM here and I love to see you popping!

Trudy, hope you had productive art day! Enjoy your hike tomorrow!

Hmm after Trudy is already described big parts of my day too (just replace painting with cleaning to cats), I'll make something untypical and will shows you my Keira Knightley's inspired Bob Haircut and before

But you MUST promise me no compliments!!! But I'm opened for any critical notes LOL! I'm serious about your kindness :nono: :tape: !
