Wow. Just Wow!! January is over, last day and all that jazz. I might actually make it through Winter this year without wanting to run away. OK, that is a lie. Yesterday, I was driving home from the supermarket and I had the urge to run away. groceries and all. Nothing really triggered it, just that feeling of :faint:

Yesterday was yet another day of nothing. Food shopping obviously, but that wasn't terrible. Laundry. Bills. Same old boring stuff. Maybe that's why I wanted to run away. I need a change of scenery. heh.

Guess what I am doing today? I have a list of little thing that I have been avoiding and/or are piling up.I don't want to deal! :gaah:

Calgon, take me away!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all for the good thoughts about BFF's dad. He is cleared for surgery which is today. I am hoping it all goes well.

Nothing else going on here. Hope that everyone has a great day!

Today is a good one!
Inspire Your Heart With Art Day sounds straightforward enough. Go to a gallery, theatre, cinema, or music venue, and soak up the art. Remember the instruction, though: Inspire Your Heart. Care is needed.
Have you noticed how edgy the arts have been getting lately? It’s not about truth and beauty any more. Artists want to shock you. That’s their new raison d’etre, and while it might thrill and enrage you, it’s not necessarily good for your heart.
So the key to getting the most out of this day is being selective about your art, and choosing something that will inspire your heart rather than expire it. With anything before 1967 you should be on fairly safe ground, but particularly recommended would be Turner (painting), Beethoven (Music) or Shakespeare (The Whole of Human Life). You know what you like of course: Go consume it!

Nancy- you are too good! I would have been so aggravated to get a call at 7 am about dog training. You are a good mom.
Yikes about your DH's tooth. Now you have me nervous, I go for a cleaning on Thursday and my teeth hurt a lot too. I am 99.9999% sure it is clenching them from stress, but when I hear stories like that--*shudders*

Trudy- I would rather have a bag of bricks dog on me than a hubby that snores. That is really annoying and in the middle of the night, I cannot help but blame him for it.
That doesn't sound good with FIL. Is this typical to have shingles me this bad for this long?
I see that you are back to the dentist too, now I am more nervous than ever. Good luck today!
I recommend the Stephanie Plum novels too. They are silly and ridiculous and not "literary" but who cares? Good for some laughs which everyone needs.

Sharon- poor puppies, one wanting to walk and the other not able to. Last summer, my younger dog, Jaida, had major knee surgery and we had to do a lot of rehab walks. My older dog Rayvn would want to come with us too but then wouldn't want to go past the driveway. It was such a struggle!
That is a long trip to make to see your dad. That is nice of DD to go with you for company.

Rae- How nice to have Darrell home one Mondays. (It is, right?) Hope that you got everything done that you needed to do.
BFFs dad has macular degeneration, is almost 100% blind and is very hard of hearing too. It's such a mess. :(

xoxo!!!!!

good morning - these are going to be crazy days. Last night my DH went to urgent care because of his tooth and there was an abscess. They gave him a stronger antibiotic and said he should see his dentist again today. Poor guy was in pain but then it broke and he now just looks like a chipmunk on one side. I managed to get the dogs home and back this am. Now of course it is snow - lightly yes but still. LOL Anyway they will be much better dogs when they are finished as long as my DIL follows through. The Devils play again tonight - yea! Hockey is back!

Chris I see nothing wrong with wanting a change of scenery. I think we all do at some point. And even if you think you did not do anything you did keep things going so that is awesome! Glad that you BFFs father is getting his surgery! Sending more positive thoughts.

Trudy I know I snore so I always feel sorry for those that have to hear. My sister says it is really not that bad. LOL And I am so surprised your FIL is still suffering with shingles. When I had it on my face I was out of commission for a good week but then it was done and the scabs just healed. I took anti-virals and they really worked. I also got the shingles vaccine so hopefully I won't have a relapse.

Sharon that is awesome of your DD to go with you to see you dad! Long drives are always better with company! That is sweet that you dogs must be together. When we got our Luther he had been with his brother for 5 months and we were worried he would not like the separation but he gets lots of loving and is doing fine. I am glad you were able to keep them together!

Rae what a fun way to start the week and now for you DH to have 3 day weekends! Enjoy the day!

Have a great day!

Morning ladies... another crappy nights sleep, but oh well I am grateful for the beautiful day and just happy to be awake :becky: Last night when DH got home from work he told me a story that brought me to tears! If you every think that you have it bad, just listen to this...
Another young woman died yesterday from a Fentanyl Overdose, she was a single mom with a 4 yr old son. The son was not picked up from his daycare at the end of the day so the grandfather was notified and he discovered her body. This poor family has 3 grown children, the oldest a drug addict living on the streets in East Vancouver, Another son who was never in any trouble, but he and his wife both were killed in a ATV accident, they had a young child also whom now is living with the grandparents. Then this youngest daughter who is now gone and the grandparents are left to raise her child. But sadly the grandmother who is only in her 50's has terminal cancer and is not expected to live much longer. So heartbreaking that one family has to go through so very much heartache!! :sorry: I just had to share, it really affected me and so the reason for my awful night of not much sleep.

I am off to swimming to try to get to a happier place today. I hope that you all have a great Tuesday and forgive me for not posting personals today!!

Good morning, ladies. It's not even 9:30 and I'm already frustrated...ugh. I'm having problems with photos this morning. I have thousands of photos to sort and organize. I have been trying to load and view a group of photos for the last few hours. It keeps freezing LR and I have to keep defraging and rebooting. I just want to view the photos to see if they are ones I can just delete. But it looks like I might have to delete them anyway if they are corrupted and causing problems.

Yesterday was nice. Got chores done, a bit of work, took Taz to the vet and then the park. Hubs went for a nice long lunch with his buddies. Today we're both working, so after a month of mostly not working, it's time to get back into my regular schedule. I'll pop out at lunch time with Taz for a bit. So, a busy but quiet day here today.

Chris - I agree, the Stephanie Plum books are fun, they make me laugh and are just so silly. Hope all goes well with the surgery for your BFFs' dad, prayers sent for him.

Trudy - that is a very sad story. It's hard to understand such tragedies. It's heartbreaking. Enjoy your swim and find your zen place.

Nancy - hope your DH feels better quickly now that he's on antibiotics.

I'm going to check LR again and see if I can view those photos now. Wish me luck. Have a good day, everyone.

Just a quick message from a place where the snow finally found us. About shingles: getting over them in a week sounds like a miracle. The people I've seen with them suffered immensely and for a long time. The sores are not the main problem, it is the nerve damage and pain.
