Happy tuesday, my lovely O-Fam! In a very weird way, it feels kind of good to be back on schedule. YKWIM? Its always nice to start my day with a cuppa and all of you!

I felt so sick again yesterday. More "womanly crap." I am seriously so done with it. bah! I had hoped to get the tree all down, but my Tip for Today is this:
Don't attempt to take down your Christmas tree while having wild mood swings. You'll move between ripping the tree apart by its branches :yell: to crying your heart out for no reason.

Oh fun, fun, fun! Thankfully, Gary was good about it (I think he saw me getting violent with the tree) and let me cry on his shoulder for a bit. Smart man.

Today is getting the rest of the darn tree put away, and trying to get the house back to whatever normal is. LOL

How about all of you?

Laurie- Good luck with whatever you decide to do in 2012. I think you would be great doing a teaching course on the ins and outs Ped. PT. That is the kind of stuff that you only learn with experience. I don't know about the majority of teachers in you field, but I remember feeling like some of the prof's in the Elem Ed field seemed like that hadn't stepped in a classroom since they were students.
Great job on the treadmill!

Fran- its all water weight! At least that is what i am telling myself. Not sure when/if i should get on a scale.... my nemesis.... Same here with the water in this cold weather. It is so much harder for me to do that. used to drink hot water with apple cider vinegar and a touch of agave nectar, but I have gotten too lazy to even do that. I live of coffee but that's not good.

Linda S-- it is always so good to see you! I saw your msg on my yeir in review LO. Yup, it was a good year for my brother and SIL!!
I hope that 2012 is calm and filled with serenity for you. You deserve that so much.

hahahaha!! Phyllis- men with Shopping Carts! Love it. I have to get to the store early when their is no school or I end up getting stuck behind the moms and the little kids.
Weird/normal-- I guess it is all relative, eh? Hope that your wierd is a "good" weird at least.
Feel better!

laurie-- ITA! Thanks to all of you for traveling my very winding road!

nana-- how was your day without *all* of the kids around? Slightly less chaotic? Me too-- fuzzy socks on my feet. I got three new pairs for C-mas LOL

xoxo

MOrning- back to being scarce no doubt- I already had quiet time, treadmill, now last cuppa, shower and off to work- never opened my work computer once- hoping that does not come back to bite me. Enjoy your days, it is freezing here! Then it will be 50 by the end of the week. Just have to love the weather.

Good morning ladies. Well, it is back on schedule at the Slycord house! (Boo...hiss...hiss) Time to get into the shower so I appear organized when the kids get up. But, just one more cup of coffee first. ;-)

Living in Iowa, we have first in the nation caucuses tonight. I am so sick of the political phone calls...I'm sure that we had at least 20 yesterday...no kidding! I'm glad that they are all leaving tonight.

Brian is going to a caucus tonight and taking my 18 year old nephew for the first time. Me and the kids are serving supper at one of the homeless shelters in Des Moines. Rather ironic don't you think?

Ok...enough about me already. Chris, I hope that you feel better today and that dang tree gets down. :-) Thanks for the well wishes hun.

Laurie, I hope that you have a peaceful and drama-free day with the co-workers.

Everyone else, it's already Tuesday...one day from hump day! :-)

Good Morning my O family.......

Yesterday was a normal work day for me because of payroll deadlines. It sure was hard being there with only 3 other people. Was wishing for one more day off......

Chris - I took my tree and Christmas stuff down on Sunday. I hear you about the emotional thing because my tree is filled with ornaments that have so many memories attached to them. It is always sad to put them away for another year. I don't have the woman thingie anymore, but am menopausal so everything makes me cry....

Laurie - I love my cuppa coffee in the morning....been drinking lots of tea, no sugar the rest of the day to keep warm.

Linda - Good for Brian on taking your nephew to the caucus, it's always great to see the young people education and involved with our country.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning Peeps!

Well it's a chilly windy morning here but as soon as I write this, I'm off for a walk. I know 1 mile isn't a big deal but it's more than I would normally - in my ideal normal - would do. I'm going to stick to that for 2 weeks and then as it gets colder, drive up to the USNA track near our house to start walking that. I do like being outdoors when it's cold but will also get back to the gym after we get back from San Francisco. That's just a short trip - one to please Dick.

I ordered a new Yoga tape last night which should be here about then. We have a gas fireplace in our small living room (12x12) where the tv is and I look forward to that. Yoga in a really warm room!

Back to you after the walk and some oatmeal with cranberries. The oatmeal is soaking while I go walking!

um....BRRRRRRR!!!!! it's 17 degrees here! another day of feeding the woodstove ahead of me. by the looks of the stack o' wood, i may have to make the long walk down to the woodpile sometime around 3 p.m.

i think my "Joy to the Girl" is fizzling out, and it's only Jan.3! Chris, you make me laugh:
Don't attempt to take down your Christmas tree while having wild mood swings. You'll move between ripping the tree apart by its branches to crying your heart out for no reason.
i can really feel that place. which is one of the reasons why, after the disasterous Christmas i had, i took the decos down on Dec. 26. frankly, it felt like a relief. i hope you feel better soon.
i'm waiting for Fiona (Applechick) to call me on Facetime in a few minutes. we're due for a 2-hour video call. (boy, can we TALK!) and talking to her will make me feel better, for sure. :becky:

hope everyone is getting back into the swing of things as gracefully and bump-free as possible. the sun is now shining here. the snow is sparkling. this seems good to me.

Good Morning everyone...yes I am BAACKKK!! Hooray! I have missed you all so much! I hardly had my computer turned on while all my company was here and I have gone through some major withdrawal!! Did you miss me?? I feel like I have been away from here forever!! I am so looking forward to getting back to scrapping and a normal life again! Tree comes down today and some hard work to get the house back to my kind of clean and everything will be right with the world again! Don't get me wrong I cried big time when my babies all went back to their homes :hurt: but it was exhausting !!
Well I am off to check out all the happenings that I have missed and look forward to going through the gallery to leave some lovin!! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!!

Hello!

Phylis, how was your Facetime chat?? I always love that feature :D

Christmastrees..blah! I really don't like them. We have one because DH and the girls like it so much. Yesterday I was working, and DH broke the tree down. Lucky me!

Trudy, for how long did you have visitors? I know what you mean, love having them over. But also love it when they all go home LOL

Maureen, did you have a nice walk?

I went to the supermarket for some groceryshoppings. DH's birthday will be this saturday. I went there while it was dry, but very VERY windy. I finished my shoppings, saw it was raining. But I thought: Ah well..that little bit of rain... As soon as I was 1 meter away from the doors, the rain poored out. Like somebody trew a bucket of water on me! GAH!
At home, I even had to dry my groceries with a towel:yell:

Chris, -sorry to hear your female bits are getting you. I'm well past that as well as menopause which wasn't any issue fortunately. But still it's nice that it's all past. Farewell fertility! hello creativity!

Hot water and vinegar..hmmm. What is the point of that?

Laurie - Hope your work ideas start to pan our in 2012. That treadmill will get the mind going with more clarity I think.

Linda, I spent 20 years in politics and now am the proverbial head in the sand, ignore it all kind of person. I do vote and have bumper stickers on my car. That's it. I am so so btdt and the lack of civility these days is appalling. But it's good that your nephew is getting a taste of what elections are about.

Frani - Taking the tree down has to be one of the most thankless jobs. Dick has no emotional attachment to most of the ornaments as the pre=date him, so he's a better packer than I am but he hates it. That was one of the reasons for no tree this year.

Phylis - Hope you and Fi have a great talk. Take that tlc wherever you can get it! Gosh ..sparkly snow already?!?! It's cold and windy here and I'm glad that's all.

Trudy - Yes, dear one, you were missed. Getting the house back to normal is a great feeling, despite how nice Christmas is. imho.

Yvon, walk was good and I listened to the BBC wordbooks podcast with Val McDermid. Another writer I've never read! This sure is the year of the Criminal Book.Sorry to hear the heavens opened up on you. Drying the groceries! that takes me back to my walking days in the UK. Mostly I shoved them into the pram with my 2nd son. It must be why he likes the Pacific North West climate!

Well, I have a meeting tonight, and got my minutes all written and printed. I'm hoping it's a short meeting. I'm ready for an early night.
