It is ONLY Jan 25???
That has to be wrong. Christmas was *only* 1 month ago?
This month is dragging. Quite honestly, so am I. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning. SAD is kicking my butt.
I never did get in front of my light yesterday. Today. I will do it today. *nods*

I finally uploaded my LO for the Momma O challenge. I tweaked a few more things and while I am not thrilled with it, it is not terrible either. Well, not *too* terrible LOL I also made the appt for W. Poor thing is going to get so excited that she is going for a ride and then bam, shot in the butt.

I have nothing to do today. Lots of things I should be doing but nothing that I want to do. Blergh! When can I start gardening again? o_O

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. Yesterday's big event was taking Hayden to the vet. She has an ear infection so drops for the next 2 weeks. Poor thing hates the vet or the groomer or even day camp when Sydney is there with her all day. Now if Andie is there with her, she does ok. But her anxiety goes through the roof if Andie isn't with her. And last thing in the world I can do is take a 60 pound dog (yes, she weighed in at 60 yesterday) and a 95 pound dog at the same time. That's too much craziness, even for me.

I'm going to get a couple of layouts loaded to the gallery and I will be back for personals.

@BrightEyes I am not surprised that the days would get lost and you would realize you were still in your PJs.
Yay!! What a wonderful surprise to talk to your DD! That must have made you so happy and relieved. My mom would be the same way, she would have to talk to me to be reassured that I was ok when I was very sick with Lyme.
I am really happy for you <3
Do the Drs have any idea how long she will need to be in the hospital? Good healing thoughts to her ~~~~

@LSlycord Before I say anything else, I am LMBO at what you wrote on FB about the dog. Like I said, that is why we had three dogs for years hahahaha!!! I had to google black mouth cur, what a sweet face they seem to have. I hope that the dogs get along. are you prepared to be a Foster Fail too?
Wasn't it just last week you were walking on the beach and now you have frost?
I love chicken pot pie, any time Syd wants to cook me for me, I am more than happy to have her. ;)

@tanteva I had to go look at the mandala you made, wow, that is incredible-- how did you start it?
yes! That is the show we are watching, Harlan Corben's The Stranger
Sorry, I can't buy a house in Sweden, too much snow and I can't leave the mice we have in this house. We have Have a Heart traps and we put peanut butter in them. Gary releases them back into the woods but since we still get a few a week, he thinks that they know how to get back inside the basement. If they know that, then why do they still go back into the traps? That is my question. LOL
Was Urban able to scoot the little guy back outside?

@Cherylndesigns You got this, Cheryl! My brain has been scattered to the winds too so I know how you feel.
yes, you are right, I could be friends with Tom's mom- and at some point, I am sure we will on some level... It still stings so much though. So the knife wounds never fully heal?

BTW- I haven't said much here--but Scott is *still* finding more information out about the Incident and holy moly, it gets uglier and uglier. My son is so strong that he hasn't called either of them to yell. I don't think I would have that same strength. Not even a little, I still get urges to throw things at them. eep.

60*??? RUB IT IN! Sure, I don't mind!!!
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

Hope you get your mojo back!

@bcgal00 ((((((hugs)))))))))) It is no wonder that you are foggy and numb. You have been through hell. I know that you are trying to push through for Jen's sake but remember to care for yourself too. You can't afford to get sick right now so please take care, make sure you eat and sleep when your body tells you to. And even when it doesn't. I imagine that eating isn't easy but try to get nutrition in when you can. I think that scrapping wildlife photos might be really healing for you too.
I am glad that you have a plan and will be moving forward with it. Just don't rush the grieving process... I cannot imagine what you are going through but I know there are people who do and would love to help xoxo
Give the pups some treats from me and a big hug to Jen too

@taxed4ever Wow, the fog must have been really bad. Did it clear out yesterday?
I bet the new patio set looks incredible, the colors sound so restful! Your Gary never sits still, however, so how is he going to understand "restful?" *G*
I was able to get an appt for this week which is good b/c I also fell behind on the dogs' heartworm and tick meds. It is going to be an $$$ visit.

better get going, wishing everyone a wonderful and peaceful day!

@faerywings my friends are all talking to me about "foster fails". And, even Brian said this morning, "You know that we are going to have 3 dogs forever?" LOL...if the dogs get along, we will have 3 dogs. Prepared? Probably not...but I did google "how to communicate with a deaf dog". Shaun was so crabby last night because we didn't hear back but he did say "they are all volunteers". And I am so sorry that Scott is still finding out about all of this cr**! But I am very grateful that he found it out before they got married and started a family. Obviously, you have raised a terrific man and he deserves a girlfriend who is worthy of him!

@tanteva the dog's name is Decker. Derek rolls off my tongue but Decker I have to think about. And for sure, I think that Decker found Shaun. Saw your Mandala in the gallery...I need to go explore that in detail. I can't imagine that would be relaxing....looks like it would stress me out. Maybe when my scrapping skills get better... Anyway, I'm going to go check it out in detail when I leave this thread. Hope Urban got your mouse for you!

@Cherylndesigns oh my goodness. Five layouts to scrap in one day! I am in awe! Hope having that many layouts brought back some of that missing mojo!

@taxed4ever I love new outdoor furniture! Yours sounds lovely. Hope that it is soon warm enough for you to be out on your porch enjoying the weather. And, honestly, if the new dog works out well enough to foster, I suspect we will move into the "foster failure" category quickly. We seem to lack backbone. LOL

@bcgal00 I am so glad that you have decided to go ahead with the move. It's very good to have goals to move forward with. And glad that you are actually going to give up the job. You are a very brave woman. Hope that some nature pictures and scrapping nature helps. We will all be watching! Many ((hugs)) to you and your family.

Love you all!

The mouse went out himself (herself?). We thought we found where he got in, there is a tiny little hole behind the dish washer, and I guess I startled him when I started the dish washer yesterday morning. I'm guessing he's been behind the dishwasher for a while, cuz Mårten was VERY interested in the dish washer the evening before. Any way, when Urban got home from work, he was gone. We sort of sealed the whole with a piece of metal and duct tape ... we're handy people, right? LOL

However, I've heard him today ... not sure if he was IN the cupboard or UNDER it? He's not in there now, anyway. Urban went out on his lunch and bougth some kind of ultrasound-mice-repellant-thingamajing. We'll try that.

I'm not scared of the mouse ... I'm more scared for it. If he gets out of the cupboard, the cats will TORTURE him. Ever seen a cat that has caught a mouse? It's not a quick & swift dead - cat's are MEAN! We've had mice inside the walls & under the house for all the years (11) we've lived here and this is the first time one has gotten inside. Now, it hit me? What if he was hiding somewhere yesterday, and we shut the hole & now he can't get back out? No ... gee ... this is too much for me. LOL

Thanks for all the nice comments on my mandala. It's not that hard to do ... just takes a bit of patience. Should I write some sort of tutorial?

Time to start preparing dinner. Trying a new recipe today - Spicy Garlic Tofu. Shared the recipe in the Vegetarian Thread - but here it is as well:

Will serve with rice. I'll let you know if it was any good. I love Pick Up Limes' web site & Youtube channel. So much yumminess!

Morning, all. Actually slept in until 6:20 AM this morning. I have been waking up around 5 AM so was nice to sleep a bit later. Guess the stress level is going down as I didn't wake up during the night. Woke up to 24*F and it is only up to 26* now. A cold front is moving in and we might get a bit of snow tonight/tomorrow. Haven't had much here in the valley - and not much on the mountains - so am glad to hear we might get snow as we need the moisture so bad.

Had a nice dinner after the family chat.... had turkey, dressing and gravy. Yes, it was a holiday meal from the freezer. Still have a few servings left in there. I need to bake an apple crisp dessert as I have lots of apples. May do that this afternoon. Hot apple crisp with ice cream sounds delicious! :D

@faerywings I agree... January seems like it is moving at a snail's pace. Will be glad when it is over! Hoping that Feb will be less stressful for everyone. So sorry that Scott is discovering more cr** - he is showing his strength and maturity as he learns more. <<< hugs for Scott >>> Yes, you need to set with your light - hoping that will make you feel better.

@LSlycord I had a feeling that you would cave on fostering... Yep... bet you will have 3 dogs forever. Yikes... that is cold for Florida!!! But I did have to LOL over them sending out a freeze notice in wintertime.

@Cherylndesigns Hope you are feeling better now. So many of us have been slammed with stuff this month so it is natural to be feeling scattered. Good for you on getting several LOs done. I am playing catch up on CT work, too. They seem to come in bunches. Still hard to do much commenting as the brain seems to repeat the same message over and over.

@tanteva Oh, WOW.... got a look at the mandala LO!!! I would not have found making something like that soothing or relaxing... but so glad you enjoyed doing it. Sorry about the mouse getting inside the house and hope that he didn't get trapped inside when you plugged the hole.

@bcgal00 It is normal to feel foggy after all that has happened. Glad the family is making future plans. I had to look on a map to see where you are now and where you will be going. Looks like a lovely place. Sending good thoughts for all to work out as the family wishes. Scrapping some of your wildlife photos might be just the thing to give you some comfort. <<< hugs >>>

@taxed4ever The new patio set sounds so nice. And yes, it is not surprising that replacing the old cushions would cost as much... if not more... than getting a new set. Your DH sounds like mine was ... once they make up their mind to do something, they charge out and buy it! :D

Coffee cup is empty.. so off to get dressed then a refill on it. CYL

Good Morning ladies... Another very foggy morning!! I am getting a bit sick of this and starting to feel like I am living in England surrounded by a moat LOL. Or perhaps in some kind of a horror movie on the swamp?? It sort of lifted yesterday and I saw a couple of glimpses of blue sky, but then it returned Ugh! Today I have to drop of a Norwex order for a customer and then MIL and FIL are coming for a quick visit. Yes FIL is still driving  hope that the fog lifts for the trip! MIL has some meds that she needs refilled and they are most likely going grocery shopping and then will come here for a few mins. Wish they would let me do online shopping for them, then they would just have to pick it up. Oh well, it is what it is. I love them dearly, but they are both very independent people and I need to respect that! I got my page finished yesterday and I really wish I would have started over! I am not thrilled with it. Hope to get started on another sometime today. I also have to finish Heather's 40th birthday card and get it in the mail. I haven't gotten started on my Gary's card yet either and his birthday is on the 2nd. Yikes!! We tried a new meal last night that we both enjoyed very much! My Gary has lost 10lbs so far and is feeling pretty darn good, so I am happy for that! I however am stuck after losing only 3lbs, but hey its ok, I know I need to get back to hiking and swimming again and then the weight will start to fall away again. Here is the recipe if anyone is interested... Mexican Chicken Casserole Ok I need my second cup of coffee and then back for some personals.

That dinner was AMAZING - easily got in on my 10 top list of best dinners ever!

Even if you don't want tofu - the sauce was so good. Try it with any Asian wok inspired thing you like. Gochujang might be expensive in your country, I don't know, but I really love the flavour.

Good morning ladies. It feels good to pop in and say hi. I'm so drained, sad, lethargic, angry (for the hospital negligence which will require legal action later) but there is hope too as we push ahead toward a fresh start. A few realtors will be coming to assess and give a quote on selling price and we will be very busy trying to purge and pack away what we don't need to have out right now. The dogs make me laugh and they give and demand love and attention so I don't get to mope around too much. I quit my job yesterday but it might take a few wks to find a replacement but then I will be finished and can devote my time to the moving plans. I'll be around here and there. I'm not going to do my Feb challenge, I can't think straight yet so not ready to focus like that yet. But scrapping is my passion so I know I'll feel the urge to create something soon.

@faerywings You are right about the food. I've been eating takeout and junk and gained about 5 lbs already so feel yucky. I'm going to try to get back to veggies and fruit again today. Jen has been sick but is getting a bit better.

I really appreciate all the kind words and support from you all. I love our O family. Have a good day everyone.

Well I am finally back... decided to hop in the shower and get dressed, then Heather called and we have been chatting for quite some time. She sent me a video of Mason at his third? No it must be his 4th drum lesson. Wow he has really taken to the drums! So fun that he gets to play on a full set of drums! When I was learning the drums in grade 7 I only got to use a snare drum, what fun is that? Anyway I need to get going pretty soon, so on to personals!

@faerywings - Chris I don't know why you did not like your page for Momma O's challenge, its pretty fabulous!! Had to laugh about poor W being excited to go for a car ride and then to end up being shot in the butt!! Sorry it will be an expensive vet bill this month! Poor Scott still finding more devious activity from his ex!! So glad that they never got engaged or married, its incomprehensible how someone can be so hurtful! I guess Love really is blind!! Tell him that we all have his back and think he is an amazing guy who deserves better! I can't wait for the weather to be warmer and to get out in the garden either!

@LSlycord - Yes I can see that you will be a foster failure LOL. You will end up with three dogs for sure, but Decker couldn't ask to be in a better home! Poor Hayden having an ear infection, hope it clears up quickly! Have fun scrapping today!

@tanteva - That recipe looks amazing except for the tofu yuck!! I am glad that you enjoyed it so much though! That Gochujang is very expensive for us here Canada it would cost $30!!! I really need to go and look at your Mandala that you made. That is too bad that your mouse has returned, hope that you have not cut off its escape route, poor little mouse.

@BrightEyes - Nice to have a better sleep! I seem to be doing much better with my sleeping too and don't hear my DH leave for work. I sleep until almost 7:30 everyday guess the colder evenings are agreeing with me. Its so dark now too with all of the fog that we have been having lately. Your dinner last night sounds yummy I just love a good turkey dinner! How great that you can all have a chat together, hope that your DD is feeling much better and will soon be out of the hospital!

@bcgal00 - I don't blame you for the anger at the hospital! It was so negligent of them and I hope that your daughter sues for sure! But for now it is time to take care of you and Jenn! I am glad to hear the dogs are putting a smile on your face and that you will be getting back to scrapping, such good therapy! Good decision to quit your job and hope that they can find a replacement for you soon! Although I am sure no one could truly replace you!! Good luck with the realtors, hope that you will get much more than you think for the sale of your house! Its such a hot market that I am sure it won't take any time at all to sell! Take care of you my friend! I am sorry that we were never able to get together at Butchart Gardens, but I think you know that I care so much about you and that I am holding you and your family close to my heart!

Well I better get going and get this order delivered.

I'm in The Zone ~ The "O" Zone
CHEERY O
Good afternoon all.

I woke up kind of early for me - around 9. It takes me awhile to get started, though. Once I did, my brain "finally" clicked into overdrive and I've been very productive - for a change. The sun is shining so brightly that I don't even need my light - it was yesterday, too. Yesterday was in the 60's, but it's a little cooler today.

I went outside and walked around the property and looked to see if I had any plants trying to peek out. It's been so mild, that I'm not sure what to expect here, in the spring. It was so good to get out of the house. We've had a few days' cold snap, but it's going to be up and down for the next week. The winters, typically, aren't real severe here. Last year, with that Polar Vortex, it was SO cold for a little while. Vicki, @VickiStegall teased me and told me that we jinxed the winter here by moving from Florida. Hahaha

Chris, @faerywings no, the knife wounds never completely heal. Not when they're very deep and done by somebody you really cared about and trusted. I know they're not, because I can still work up a pretty good anger - and I've done so much "work" on it.

Kay @BrightEyes it DOES seem like everything comes at once. It's been that way for me - every time I've thought I was caught up, there's another thing to do. I love being busy, though. I was just feeling a little overwhelmed for a day or so. Glad you got to rest up and that your daughter is making such wonderful progress.

Trudy @taxed4ever good for you two for losing some weight. You know, men lose so much faster than women. It's true! They lose it faster, too. You'll be hiking and swimming soon, and I'm sure you look great, anyway.

Rae @bcgal00 good to see you on here. Please take care of yourself, but if you feel like scrapping, scrap! That's the best therapy for me when I can't do ANYTHING else! Sending lots of love and hugs.

Linda @LSlycord I had to chuckle at the thought of you wrangling two big dogs at the vet. Mine weighs 50 pounds and she's a handful! Oh, we're kind of excited - we found a mobile groomer and they're coming here tomorrow! We didn't think there were any in this "middle of nowhere place", but Adrienne and I saw a van the other day, so we knew there was at least one. My husband has been taking ours and theirs (both Doodles) to a groomer for the last year. She called and said she was taking a few weeks off, so we called that mobile groomer. We're really hoping it works out! The groomer we used was about 25 minutes away and that meant 2 trips whenever we took them. They were there for several hours, too.

Well, I think maybe Adrienne and Lila might be here. Daisy's outside barking. Hugs
