Hey there, Ooos! I hope everyone is having a good day. Did you have a good day yesterday too? I did.
First off, I have to shout out to my optometrist. I have only seen him twice but he has been so very nice. I typically hate going to eye Drs because 1. I hate eyeballs 2. I am light sensitive to begin with and having my eyes dilated really hurts and 3. Most critically, almost every eye dr I have been to makes me feel stupid when I can't decide if #1 or #2 is better. He is old school (and not to be ageist, he is also on the older side, def. a decade or so on me)
But not only is he pleasant and non-judgemental about my indecision, he is 100% Lyme-Friendly. It always shocks me when a Dr recognizes and sympathizes with the long-term effects Lyme has on every part of the body. A few years ago, I had so many floaters and spots in my vision, it was hard to look at something solid for any length of time (which made painting the DR really tough). He asked about them and I was happy to say that I had way fewer floaters now. We talked Covid and I mentioned that Long Covid sounds very similar to Chronic Lyme, and he said that in his POV Lyme was worse. I never had covid, let alone Long Covid, so I can't compare, but after decades of being told that there is no such thing as Chronic Lyme- wow, it was refreshing to hear someone -- esp in the medical field- acknowledge it.
After that, I drove across the street to let my pupils settle down- went to the Farmer's Mkt and got some produce. Then I needed to drive to Cait's school- she warned me there was going to be a detour but the Road Closed sign was after the light I should have turned out. Being still semi-blind, I couldn't read the street signs. There weren't any cones or police blocking the road so I kept going. About 2 miles before I go to the school, that is when the road was blocked. :/ Had to turn around and backtrack to the detour beginning, then looped all the way around the back of the town to get to the school. What a mess hahahaha! The next problem was trying to find Caitlyn's office. She told me how to get there but after the first few directions, I got lost and had to call her again for help. The funny part is that when we went to the school before her first semester, we got lost and it was all in the same place, I was yesterday. I told her that I recognized the hallways but had no idea how to get out of them. Her office is cute-- a blend of "business office" metal desk, office cha,irs etc, and Caitlyn's own style- framed photos of the dogs, a sketch of the rats that Tom drew, a coffin-shaped pinboard, and a coffin-shaped shelf that she had some little animals figurines on.
Then --- when I got home, I grabbed so much and then did Yoga Day One!! Woo hoo!! It was just 15 minutes of basic poses but I did it.
Yikes, I blabbed on way too much, it's already past 8 am. Quick personals and then better get my day started!
