Wow, yesterday's weather was nice for the first week of February. I was able to park my car a bit farther away in the Dr. Office complex and didn't freeze on my way in.
The appt was fine, got my script for physical therapy and he adjusted the stretching boot for the Achilles tendon. He saw me for exactly 5 minutes. I have Medicaid (health insurance for low-income people) and I suspect that is partly why. They don't get reimbursed much for their time. I wouldn't typically think poorly of a Dr based on this, but I had a really bad experience when I was on Medicaid the first time many years ago. I had been with my OB-GYN group for years, they delivered Caitlyn. Wonderful office, Drs, staff. Then, on Medicaid, I needed to make an appt with a GYN and one of the Drs in the practice also accepted that so I made an appt. What a difference- I was seen at a small, dingy satellite office, he barely talked to me, was out of the room in minutes. I felt so demoralized. I don't know if other countries have "tiered" medical coverage based on income? It is a big reason why I would love to see some type of universal coverage. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that I have any ins. at all. It is just a bit depressing that I am treated "less than" because I can't afford a "real" insurance plan.

My parents were very well behaved. No real bickering and I only rolled my eyes at them a few times. Heh!!! My mom lost her ins. ID card last week and my dad went upstairs to call the company to request a new one for her. She got mad at him for that. I told her that he was trying to be nice since he knew how upset it made her. My goodness.
For lunch, we went to the small Italian restaurant that my parents and brother practically live at. We all got hugs and kisses from the owner when we walked in. I got the yummiest grilled chicken wrap with sauteed spinach and garlic. I ate the entire thing, which was too bad since I was planning on leftovers for dinner. But dang, it was soooo good. My parents got the same thing and they loved it too.

Today I am going to the eye dr for the last time (fingers crossed) and then I have no choice but to deal with food shopping menus/coupons for tomorrow.
I don't wanna!! :frusty:

HAGD!!

Felis- sorry that you had a sleepy day yesterday. Oh yes, there is research for every topic that "proves" every outcome I think!
I don't know if there is any research on using light to wake you up, but I have an app on my phone that gradually gets brighter before the alarm goes off. I usually wake up before the alarm which keeps me from getting at the alarm itself.
I am lucky that my dogs will go potty on leads in my yard. Lucky for me, not so lucky for the grass LOL But it would be good to force me to get some exercise.
I am chuckling over your letter descriptions. It is always funny that we really do speak in different languages including how we would describe shapes. Thank you again for saying I am strong. It really means a lot esp on the many days that I don't feel it.

Nancy- did you see my question about the Pru train station? TY!
I didn't watch any of the Super Bowl but I did see DT's tweet. I can see how people could get it mixed up but he is should know this. I saw that the weather changed to rain all week too. It could be worse!!

Trudy- oh my goodness, that is a lot of rain. I hope that the homes in the Valley aren't damaged by it.
Happy belated birthday to your Gary! How fun to have it on the same day as all of the others, esp Palindrome Day. How are the Valentine's day coming along?

Rae- I love that you are able to be outside watching the squirrels and birds. That must b have been a relief to know that your trailer is up high enough but still so much rain. :(
It sounds like you had a very nice and cozy weekend with your girls!
Your retirement plans sound like they are solidifying well. I hope that everything progresses smoothly.

Karen- ugh about all of that snow. No chance that it fizzled out? I hope that you are able to reschedule the fitness appt.
Good luck when you have the testing done. Cute side story about when Gary and I both had to have brain SPECT scans done. His was done in 2007, mine is 2008- so still int he throes of the Global War on Terror. We had them done at Columbia Uni in NYC and take the George Washington Bridge to get there. They had to give us letters stating that we had been injected with radiation because at that time, there were still random checks in and out of the City for dirty bombs and we could have set off the equipment if we were stopped. (My life is never really dull!)
Hopefully, you won't have to worry about that with your test LOL Good luck and I hope that they are able to figure out what is going on. The not knowing is difficult.

Kay- the weather *everywhere* seems bonkers. I hope that the snow passes you by too. Mmmmm, apple crisp with ice cream sounds so delish!!!

xoxo!!

Hi ladies!
Sometimes I do this little experiment to check what I'm wrote on same date previous year and see do I can copy and paste it with minimum edit. I was watch one movie with very good quote how they are been blessed to have many quiet years repeating the same happy days. It was something like that even I can't find the exact quote now. I do believe in that, and I'm so grateful for every boring day!!!
But from other side it's boring to repeat you same old same old things, it's not sounds very productive. This is why many days I just don't see reason to post, and today was one of them. But it comes to my mind, that you may like to check this Insta profile https://www.instagram.com/pascalcampionart/ of artist who enjoy me a lot. He draws short comics about black cat who gives life lessons to person who wondering what is the meaning of life. It's funny and gave point for thinking, even it's not completely realistic, because at the real life cats thinks that everything gonna be alright just with hug. :) . That's the most common advice and almost the only that you'll receive by cat.

Chris, my country is with universal coverage and we have to pay many additional taxes, especially for pills. But yes ITA about the treated you based on your status. This is why I'm invested in one ridiculous expensive pair of clothes for cases when have to kick **ses, you got it. We have proverb "they will welcome you by the clothes and will farewell with you by your mind". Hooray for the good parents behave! Good luck with the shopping planing!
Ohoho, better not encourage me to start my tirade how my own dog use the yard, and my mom's dog was learned on morning dog walks, which now I have to do, even with my lack of enthusiasm!!! She promised me, when she wanted indoor dog, this to not happen, but of course with the job change we don't have big choice! :frusty: The worst is when at some days dad comes from work and said: "OK I'll make the afternoon walk, so to stop you complaining!" WOW, are you kidding me?! I adore the afternoon walk, the wake up is what killing me!

Nancy, yes I saw lots of people celebrating Super Bowl on Instagram, looks like it's something bigger. I also enjoy to be outside, but we desperately needs rain. These people from the news (I was mentioned at previous post) that was started watering their lawn at winter time are stuck in my mind and still piss me off.

Trudy, ouch, I just told how desperately we need rain and how dry is all here. Nature is not fair once again! If you looking for more fancy swim caps you should search at online stores. I'm sure you'll be done quick wit the cards making, as you are so creative!

Rae, your retirement plans sounds great! This is the traditional way of living in my area (not at the whole country), one child have to stay with the parents for their whole life. Household with more people is more safety, and also we need to give to our parents what they offered to us at our childhood! Is that means that Noel will live with you too? You'll adore to have cat, will see!

Kythe, absolutely support decision to not drive in icy roads. No one should if have option to skip that! As you said it's too dangerous.

Kay, smart decision to make grocery now! Is it strange that in my country cereal aren't popular?! Muesli and other vegan seeds breakfasts are, more popular. But I do like Cookie crisp as a chips.

Jean, , I think I finally catching up with commenting at your 52 pages! I think it's time for both of us to finished few more pages :) .

Morning everyone it is :smow: this morning, just a bit so far but it sounds like we are in for a lot more of it :hurt: I want winter to be over!!! DH took his truck to work, but I might have to go and pick him up after as he doesn't have his snow tires on. MEN!!! Every fall I remind him to get it done, but does he listen to me??? I love him dearly, but oh man sometimes I could just clobber him LOL. Anyway I will try to get to swimming today, but it will depend on the amount of snow that we get. I really do not want to shovel that dam driveway again!! Oh and I am supposed to get a Norwex order delivered to a lady who lives close by and thought I could do that before I head to the pool. Then this afternoon I have my Dr. appt to go to, so I sure hope the snow does not keep me from that!

Chris - I hate that you have been made to feel so demoralized by your health care insurance!! You know that I am a big believer in universal health care and I just don't understand what the U.S. has against it!! I think that if some of those rich politicians ever had to deal with what others go through they might see the light. But I know that will never happen. I am happy though that your parents were well behaved for you and it is good that you told you Mother that your Dad was just trying to help her out! How nice to be greeted so well by the restaurant owners, so nice!! Sounds like your meal was wonderful!

Felis - You are right Mother Nature is not playing fair at all this year! I hope that you get the rain that you so desperately need! I would gladly send you all this moisture if I could!! Sad thing is that we will soon be complaining that it is too dry again when summer comes around. I think I will take a look online to see if I can find a more fun, less boring swim cap! Hope that you can get a break from walking the dog early in the morning, perhaps you could convince your Dad to do the early morning one and you will have the afternoon one :noidea:

Rae - I hope that your retirement plans come true! I know that DH and I will soon have to think about moving at some point also. This place is going to be too much work for us and the driveway is so horrible in the winter. We will see what happens with our plans for the Air B&B. I have a feeling that it won't happen. DH is not thrilled about having someone else sleeping under our roof, even if it is a totally separate area with no acess to the rest of the house. Glad that your trailer is high and dry and hopefully you can get to it in near future!

Karen - don't blame you for not doing the driving in the snow! Especially over there in the big city! I am sad to say the my DH is one of those idiots out there today with no snow tires :sorry:

Kay - Hope your weather is better today and yes apple crisp sounds yummy!!

Ok I will check the driveway, :mmph: hopefully I can get to swimming this morning. Have a great day ladies!!

Good morning ladies. I am sitting here in my jammies down in my office. I'll get dressed later when D wakes up. He had an equipment install last night with some of the guys from work. They left at 10:30 pm and I have no idea when he got back. I didn't even wake up. I'm guessing it was around 5 or so. He's normally up at 6:15 for work but he'll sleep for another hour or two before work calls start coming in and he'll have to get up. Luckily he doesn't have these overnight installs often.

The snow has started and is sticking to the ground now. They predict 7-8", then turning to rain later tomorrow. Crazy weather. Taz will enjoy it later. I'll take him behind the school. I have to be really careful with him at the river now. Two coyotes ran out of the bush and grabbed a dog a few days ago, while it was on the retractable leash, the owner was able to get the dog back but almost didn't. They are hungry and are getting more aggressive. This is the area that Taz runs freely thru, often so far away I don't know where he is until he comes back 2-4 min later. Poor little guy, he doesn't understand why we're not back in the bush or along the path, off leash. At least I can take him behind the school and it is safer, more open so hopefully I will see them if they come out.

I cancelled my hair appt today, not going to drive anywhere. I rescheduled for Friday. My hair seems to be thinning more and I realized I had gotten out of the habit of taking my daily collagen powder, I started taking it again yesterday and will see if that helps again after another month or so. Either way, I'm getting it cut even shorter. I love that I don't have to do much with it, I can throw a hat on and not worry about messing up my hair. I'm all about less fuss these days.

Chris - glad the lunch was good and not much bickering with the parents. I had to smile b/c sometimes Jen will roll her eyes at us when we say things and I have to remind her that we have dry wit and say things to each other that sound negative or mean but actually we are teasing and we each know it LOL.

Trudy - have a good swim, if you can get out and drive today. The roads might not be too bad here as its a wet snow and doesn't look like its going to dip below freezing so our roads should stay clear.

Felis - telling us about the "same old" is just fine. My life isn't exciting and I often talk about the "same old"....walking Taz, movies, books, etc. Sharing our daily thoughts and plans is ok no matter how often things are the same. As for Noel, unfortunately he is old and having medical issues now so his time is coming to an end we think soon. But when we all move in together, I think my daughter would love to get a kitten and Taz would love that.

I'm going to get started on work now and work on a CT page this morning. Hope you all have a great day.

good morning - the weather is cloudy with spotting rain showers. I have a game tonight as the Devils play the Canadiens. The poor Canadiens apparently are dealing with everyone having the flu. I do not want them playing and getting us all sick when the spit all over the ice. LOL. Watching the Netflix series You is so weird. I wonder who are these people or are there really people like this. But still I watch. Got a lot of knitting done last night watching hockey.

Chris what a nice lunch with your parents. So happy. Hope the eye doctor goes well. That is terrible about the doctor treating you worse because of medicaid. It is a sad comment on that doctor!

Kath hope you don't get too much snow!

Trudy wow that was a lot of rain. Glad you were able to get to where you needed to go. Hope you do not get too much snow so that you do not make your pool and Dr.

Rae that is something about the crossing into the US being shut. I was not realizing how much rain you all were getting. Loving the photos thanks for sharing on FB

Felis so glad you are posting. Same old may seem like same old but not really - the cat or dogs do something different. The sky is a different shade of blue or this day it has clouds.

Have a great day all!
