:flypig: <~ February. Just flew on by. What an absolutely strange (and sometimes terrifying, politically speaking) month it was. The weather was weird, the news was weird. My family was weird. Ah, I guess that is every month, not only February. :pound:

Yesterday was also weird. I spent most of the morning finalizing all of the tax info, I did the kids' too. They are very indignant when they see their W-2's and all of the deductions in black and white. But they will each get a tiny bit back from Federal and State which made them happy.

I finished a LO for the "surprise" that is happening here soon and started another. Everything just takes me so long. It is frustrating.

But I have good news for each of my kids. Scott got a call from the garden center asking him to come back. He starts today. So he is FT student and working 2 PT jobs. I worry that it will be too much *and* that I will never see him but I have to let him do what he has to do. He is a smart kid and will do the right thing for himself. Right?? (Why is it so hard being a mom????)

Cait also babysat again last night and had a blast. She is going back again on Thursday so she is really happy to have this regular gig. I am happy for her too. She texted me last night for advice. They two "little ones" are 9 and 10 and were singing songs about boobies. The head bone is connected to the neck bone, the neck bone is connected to the "boobie bone"... hahaha!!! She wanted to know if she should tell them to stop or not. I told her to remind them that it's not appropriate outside of the house. She told me this morning it was next to impossible to not laugh.

I get to go food shopping this morning, yippee. :roll:I hate that one "event" can wipe me out for the rest of the day. But it is what it is.

Ooh! More good news-My mom is coming up on Friday and is bringing food. Meatloaf and meatballs for my guys and vegetarian General Tso's "Chicken" for Caitlyn. The Chinese restaurant by my mom has a lot of veggie options and the one in my town is terrible. All will be happy! yay!

Off to get to personals :)

Nancy- I didn't see any of the Academy Aways (not my thing, since I don't see movies LOL) but it must have been an interesting thing to watch.
Is the collar he uses one of those pronged collars? I wonder if it pinches a nerve or muscle on Luther. I am so happy that he is doing better and no limping. What did the vet say?
Hope that the Devils don't trade any of your favorite players.

Cindy- Congrats on the new car! My mom is looking at a new CRV, she doesn't want all of the crazy add-ons but really wants a sunroof. The base model doesn't come with a sunroof and you can't add it on either. Why is it so hard to fins what you want?
I didn't know you were short like me. I am 4'11". Caitlyn is 5' and Scott is 5'5". We like to be up high so we can see and like driving small SUVs. She has a Santa Fe, Scott has a 1999 CRV and I have a Saturn VUE.
I am with you about animal deaths. Can't handle that at all, IRL or in TV/movies/books. Do you know there is a website doesthedogdie.com or something like that?
Cait will check it for us before we watch anything. My family is killing me with books too- I got The Art of Dancing in the Rain (I think that is what it is called) and A Dog's Purpose. I won't read them so they are sitting on my bookshelf unopened. I should go ahead and donate them to the library since they are taking up space.

Trudy- I saw that beautiful LO that you did on FB of the boats, lovely! You had a perfect anniversary day and are a testament to a strong marriage. Gary and I are coming up on 24 years and we say the same about doing it all over. Minus the hard times although we also admit that those times made us stronger than hell and the kids too. I wish we could be strong without the bad times :D
I was 24 when I got married and when I realize that Scott is almost 21 and thinking about getting engaged- it all seems so young to me. And your sister got married at 15??? Whoa!!! How did that go over?

Rae- that is great news about Taz and Noel getting along. That didn't take them long at all. Jaida is still scared of Floyd, almost 2 years later. I hope that you get all caught up on your workload.

Sharon- how sad for your ILs to lose such a long term friend :(
Is today the Big Day? Have a great and safe time!

good morning well my Devils lost in OT again and again they were leading. However I am going to rant about the refs again. It is horrible to say that but when a team is playing the Canadiens they always get the calls. Last night my player was tripped and while that was called my player was given an embellishment penalty. What a joke! I am going to watch the game today to see what is discussed on the broadcast. As far as it goes with Luther it appears it is just a soft tissue injury. The vet called and she is so nice. So that is good so short walks and he can take his doggie aspirin. And yes it is the collar with the spikes but they are rounded and just rest on the skin. He only wears it while on walk and it is so loose that I have to keep putting it in the correct spot so I am sure it is not pinching anything. Poor guy though to want to go on a walk but not have it be fun. My son got his keys to his new appt room. He is so happy but nervous. I am happy for him. A big step. The hockey world is in flux as the trade deadline is Wed at 3pm. The Wild and Capitals have gone all in on getting the player, players they feel will get them to the Stanley Cup final. Now the rest o the teams are looking to see what if anything they need to do to keep pace if they think their team needs something. Another shocking thing is the mumps are again going through the league. The Canucks had 5 players and now the Wild have 2 confirmed and even a coach. The mumps went through the league 2 years ago.

Chris glad you got your taxes done! It is shocking to see how much is taken out of the money we think we earn. I would not mind so much if I could decide where in the government my tax money is spent! Good luck with grocery shopping - I have to decide if I am going to go.

Trudy saw the page about the anniversary day! So beautiful! What a special way to spend the day. It is amazing how fast it goes. When I first got married I never expected to make 50 years but now I do! My DH and I celebrate 43 this year. It so requires commitment especially during the hard time. Really congrats!

Cindy congrats on the new car! And yes it seems that you cannot find a car exactly like you want. It is either all the bells and whistles or nothing! Glad you found a car you are comfortable with.

Rae glad that cat and dog are becoming friends. That is not happening in my house. Luther loves to find cats on our walks and barks. Loves to show off that he can find them. Good luck finishing up all that work!

Sharon have fun today. And glad you were not involved with the crash! Thankful every one will be okay!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... chilly but sunny here this morning, my goodness we had a bit of snow storm yesterday and it dumped another 2 inches of snow on the ground :smow: But happily it was mostly melted away by the late afternoon. The roads were so bad though that I stayed home all day. Today I really have to get out to get Sadie's birthday gift!! What a bad Grandma I am, not having it ready yet!

Chris - Lots of great news in your house yesterday! Hooray for the kids getting a bit back from income tax!! My poor hubby pays and pays and still gets dinged with having to pay more every year!! Hence my scrapping name taxed4ever LOL!! Hopefully Scott will be able to manage working two jobs and going to school also. He is trying to be ready for when he is the provider of his household I am sure. What a great kid he is!! So happy that Caitlyn is enjoying her babysitting gig too, sounds like the kids are cute, isn't it funny how they love to say words like boobie LOL My grandson Isaac is continually singing songs about farts :becky: Hard not to laugh but yes they need to know not to do it in public. Wow your mom is just the best ever! How nice of her to bring all that good food for all of you! Hug her for me!!

Nancy - OMG my DH and I were both saying that I bet the Canadians got all the breaks that they needed to get ahead of the Devils last night. See I told you that the ref's give them every chance they can so that they win!!! Something stinks in the NHL!!! and its not the sweaty jerseys!! Glad that Luther is ok and that he will soon be 100% again! Wonder how he got the injury??

Sharon, Rae and Cindy - Have a wonderful day and do something fun today!! I will pop in later to see who shows up here.

Good morning, ladies. I'm doing a quite in and out of here for this morning. I have a few more minutes to get some work done before sending over the invoice for this pay period so want to get a few more files done. My part time client is sending me everything again. I don't know what is going on with her regular full time gal. So I'm almost caught up from the last big batch and then it started again yesterday LOL. No complaints, I am happy for the money but it sure cuts into "my" time. Luckily I got my challenges ready for March so just have a bit to do to be on top of my CT duties. This month is crazy for me. But then again...when isn't it? LOL. I keep waiting for life to slow down but it doesn't seem to be happening :)

Also, Jen got a part time job. Goes for training tomorrow. So its a low wage but it gets her in the door and later if she likes it she can move up into admin work. Happy for her.

I'll come back later. Have a great day, everyone.

Hi everyone. Today is Mardi Gras. We did not bother to go to the Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, but to a smaller parade in a city nearby. My daughter was on a truck float. We picked up chicken for DD and headed to the parade route. The floats were getting ready to leave when we arrived. We waited around for one group of floats and figured out we could go to where her float was staged, so we drove down and they hadn't left. I ran over with the chicken to the float and they were ready to leave. Perfect timing. We went on the parade route and waited for them, and left after their float. Tired of Mardi Gras!!! lol

I did manage to schedule my fb post! Now partying is over and i need to get back to scrapbooking.
