I almost gave myself a bit of a heart attack here. I thought today was Wednesday for a minute. :nono: I need every minute of every day that I can get.
Maybe that thinking is what is making me wake up at all hours of the night? Between insomnia and the nightmares coming back I am exhausted. Fork in me done. I am trying to figure out what I did yesterday but is such a blur.
Ever have what you think to be a simple project turn into a two-hour one? Of course, you have. I asked Gary to move the fridge a tiny bit to clean, there was mouse poop on the shelf behind it. That turned into moving the fridge, the shelves next to the fridge, and the small pantry cabinet on the other side of it. All of the cans had to be taken off of the shelves and the pantry (cheap pressboard from Walmart, being held together with duct tape along the back!) needed some extra brackets to reinforce it all. It is like when "you give a mouse a cookie," but in this case, the cookie is a nice warm kitchen! :p
Scott has been driving the mouse traps to a field 1/4 mile from here since Gary thinks that he caught the same mouse several times- the same broken tip of the tail. So we have a mouse that is smart enough to find his way from the woods into our house but not smart enough to stay away from the peanut butter in the traps.

Needless to say, I didn't get any time to scrap or to bake.
Today we are getting the tree, which will make the house feel like Christmas! I can't wait! As of right now, it just feels cold.
I also need to work on dinner ideas and the food order. Help!!!

What good plans do you have for today?
Hope it is a wonderful one!

Nancy- silence is good........ *sighs* I bet that after that happy chaos of Saturday it was enjoyable to be alone. How was the weather yesterday afternoon, you and Luther make it out for a nice walk? I hope that hockey comes back but ITA, no way would I go to an arena any time soon.

Felis- I am happy that you are feeling cheerful and energetic after insomnia! I wish that you didn't have insomnia but at least being in the Gallery cheered your mood. Sorry that your country is back in partial lockdown. Some states here have that and I am wondering when my area will be in it too.
We watched some Simpsons Christmas episodes last week, hopefully, we can watch something tonight. What is your favorite movie?
Caitlyn's floor will be fake hardwood- like Pergo so she can damp mop it every day to keep the dust mite allergen levels down. I wish we could do the entire house in it but there is no way for many reasons.

Trudy- I love the way your staircase looks decorated. Can you do just the roping, not the Santas? Did you get time to scrap yesterday?
Thanks for the compliments! I was going to make the octopus in solid grey yarn but Cait suggested the green/brown/blue. After I was done, I realized that it is going to look like shades of brown to Scott since he is colorblind! Whoops!

Cheryl- whew!!!! I was worried that your cold wasn't just cold. Great to hear that you are starting to feel better.
Congrats on the appliances, it has to be looking more like "house" than "construction."

Kay- The gallery and forums are really so festive! I wish I could participate more in them. I did get three challenges done, so that isn't terrible but I wish I could do more.
I hope that your cases are not getting any worse. I know that you are super-careful.
My little town had 36 cases the other day, including a 9 yo and a 14 yo. I hope that it settles down and soon.

Rae- gentle hugs to you and your back, be careful as you move.
Big, big hugs- still gentle though- about your friend/family. I am so sorry that things are not good. :(

HAGD!

Morning O-zies!! A very rainy morning here! I had a bit of a downer of a day yesterday, just kind of in a funk and missing my kids and grands! I know that I should be grateful that they are all doing well and are healthy, but darn it, I want to hug them and play with them. While I was decorating the tree, I kept thinking that it would be so much more fun to have the kids help me! I hate COVID!! :sorry: I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer  Needless to say I just was not in the mood to do any scrapping or much of anything else yesterday. I did talk with MIL/FIL on the phone and told them that we will be dropping of the wine that they ordered and the gifts that we purchased this weekend. We will not be able to go in the house as we are back to partial lockdown again. We will have to do the outside social distance visit instead. I hate to think of them being all alone for Christmas, but then I suppose we will all be in the same boat. I have to check the pool website to see if I can still swim today and I need to get MIL/FIL Calendar finished off with all the birthdays etc. I haven't wrapped any of their gifts yet either, so I will need to get that done also. I did have a very nice face time call with Heather and Hunter and cute little Hunter was telling me that his teeth are all fixed now and they don't hurt anymore. He is sleeping much better at night now too, so that made me very happy! We read a few stories and I showed him our Christmas decorations and he showed me his, so cute!!

Chris - Darn I am sorry to hear that the nightmares have returned!! I wake up at 3am every single night and toss and turn and toss and turn, but eventually I do fall back to sleep. Then at around 7am I wake up again, but feel like I haven't slept at all. UGH! That Darn sneaky little mouse keeps finding his way back to your kitchen, how frustrating!!! Hope that the next trip to the woods is a bit further away and he finds a cozy spot to spend the winter there instead of your kitchen! Hope that your tree makes your house feel cozy and more Christmasy! The smell of a real tree is the best! That is funny that the colour of the Pirate Octopus will be all shades of brown for Scott, I can't imagine being colour blind like that.

Well I will get to the gallery for a bit and then I better get busy with the Calendar and find out if I can swim today or not. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Hello lovelies! I had a really satisfied day, but I'm so tired now! It was supposed to be calm craft day, but sun came so bright that literally was singing to me: "GO Clean, GO clean , GO clean!". It was exactly like Chris described it, there was more and more tasks that came to my mind. It's really nice to be able to open the windows while cleaning and I couldn't resist. I hope this warmer weather will bring us snow!
I'm so excited to hear all song suggested in today's game, I think this will become my favorite game for this party! Betty Jo gives me great idea, even without knowing it, so I'm happy to scrap without to leave impression that I'm joined because of the awards. Now I really have to start knit!

Chris, I'm always wondering this about the mouses, as cats can find the way back home, so why mouses to not do the same?! My favorite Christmas movie is the animation ''Arthur Christmas'', I have it on DVD so I don't rush. Oh by the way for my birthday my parents bought me "Frankenweenie", you was told me about it and I put it on my wishlist. Ugh, I'm insomniac because my body is feeling most fresh and productive at night time. I often live with switched time zone, but it's not productive when it's cold, so I'm trying for the winter!
Ugh, it was totally expected my country to get back to lockdown. They repeated numerous time 10 simple rules for hygiene and distancing, but people continued to break them.

Trudy, till I'm on this bad topic, I have to mention that I'm disagree with you, for me is nonsense people to not be with their families for the holidays. On daily basis people continued to meet so many strangers at shops/ post office/ banks, that's is ridiculous! Fresh example is my neighbor, every morning I met her to go somewhere, and she told me "I don't contact with anybody", but she talk with me and who know how many other people. At the same time her extended family will not come because "don't want to put her at risk". What's the point if she live till the summer and gone with the memory how her last Christmas was so lonely?! It's less risky to meet only with family members and stop go outside for nothing! I really don't understand how someone can sacrifice Christmas, but at the same time continue to shop daily. And no she not need to shop, as her daughter do it for her, she go just to the bakery for fresh baked bread or some other strange ideas. I think she's just lonely. Sorry for this, girls! But I'm really aggravate! :tape2:

Sorry that decorating didn't brings you the feeling that should! If you decided to do the staircase, show it here, please, we'd love to see it!

Cheryl, get better soon! Maybe more tea and rest, for a while? Are you the only person who brings Daisy on walks? My dad also never take the dog out  !

Kay, how cool that you have these LP records!

Rae, so sorry for the bad news about your friend!

Good afternoon, Ooooozzzzzies. My lovelies. Thanks for the get well wishes! I'm still not feeling myself, but trying to soldier on. I haven't felt much like commenting except on my challenge - but I will. What happens to me when I get a bug is that I get grumpy. I've done that my whole life and the last week or so, I've been grumpy. I figured I was coming down with something. :(

Chris, the mouse story is actually cute - only you could make a mouse story cute. I can see that tiny mouse figuring out how to get the peanut butter out of those traps without tripping it. Hahaha Smart little thing.

Felis, my hubby will take Daisy out, but she's so spoiled and wants "her momma" to take her. We've been going on several walks a day for a long time - especially when we lived in Florida (before we moved) and we had the covid lockdowns. That was one of my salvations was taking Daisy on walks. Even the days it was in the 90's we'd walk. She expects it, bless her heart. Since I haven't been feeling well, we've just taken shorter walks. We were walking a mile at a time - straight up a hill on the dirt road, then back down. I haven't felt up to that, so she's happy to just walk down to the pond.

Trudy, what a wonderful conversation you must have had today! You're lucky, because Asher (he's 9) won't even get off his video game long enough to talk when his mother and I FT. We FT for an hour at a time, and if I get a "hello" I'm lucky.

Kay, I'm so envious that you have the LP's. I carted mine around for years - through all of our multi-state moves and then somebody asked to buy them all and I stupidly sold them. It seemed like the right thing to do at the time. :(

Chris, what is causing your nightmares? That's so frightening! Chuck has been having them recently and he wakes up absolutely terrified. He's never had them in all our 40 years together, so we got to trying to figure out why. He started on some new medication and that was one of the rare side effects. It's nothing that he "needs" so he's not taking it now. He absolutely scared me to death the first night he had one!

Well, I've worn myself out typing (not really) I wish everything was as easy as typing. LOL It's in the 60's here today and the sun is shining so brightly! It has to make me feel better - I'm going to try to drag myself outside for a few minutes.

Hugs to all.

Still gray with lingering snow on the ground here but we're going out soon to return things to the library (they're closed except curbside pickup again) and to Walgreens for important things like Diet Coke. :car: It always feels good to get out of the house even though we're supposed to stay home.

Chris, I love the crocheted critters. I too can't imagine what Scott sees (or rather doesn't). Wish you could sleep better, but your worries sure don't help. But then neither do the homing mice. Between the tree and cookies when you get to them the house will smell so good. Glad it isn't Wed. yet. The phone rang while we were still sleeping (not early, but that's us) and in my sleep-fogged state I wondered who would be calling us so early on a Sunday morning. Don't know where that came from but by the time I could see the clock I did know it was really Tuesday.

Trudy, hope you got to swim today especially since no hiking now. After decorating the rest of the house hope you decide on an easier version of decking out the stairs. It looks so lovely. Don't forget that you need to do things for YOU. Hunter sounds so sweet; glad his teeth are better now.

Felis, I'm with you on being better at night. Good luck with doing it the other way for winter. I'm one without the cleaning gene I guess but you and Chris sure do seem to get some pleasure from it. So nice to see you enjoying the songs and singers.

Cheryl, wondering how you know it's just a cold. And hoping it leaves you quickly. Ava is clearly a gem to have around but even more if you're not up to par. How exciting this stage of the house. Fun time for you with the family, the house and Christmas too.

Rae, do hope your back lets up so you can enjoy the holidays a little better. Glad you got out though.

Kay, is tomorrow the day for the post & commissary? You'll be worn out after that I think. Keep warm.

 to all.

I guess I don't really know - I'm just afraid to find out otherwise. My dd, who's a medical assistant, asked me if I have a fever and I don't - I guess I'm in denial. Ava came down and we took Daisy on a I walk and I did feel better. Honestly, I'm afraid to find out if it's more than a cold. :peep:

I hear you about supposed to stay home. I've been home for a couple of weeks, but Ava is taking me to Muskogee tomorrow, to Lowe's to look for stacked stone for the front of our bar. We want to run into Hobby Lobby, too, if I feel up to it. I hope I feel like going tomorrow. I'm SO tired of this covid - as I'm sure everybody is!!!!! Enough already!!

Hugs
