hellllOOOO O-zies!
I am still so far behind, I didn't even get a chance to play my favorite game here at all yesterday. I have to make time to do that today. (please let me have time to do that today)
I was in the kitchen all day yesterday, I made hazelnut biscotti for my mom and Gary's Scottish shortbreads. I still had some time at the end of that and since the kitchen was a mess, I made toasted coconut cookies. Yes. My kitchen is still a mess since I was just finishing up the coconut ones when I had to start cooking dinner. And to think I have barely begun baking-- the big all-day affair is set for the 17th.

I am going to make some chocolate drizzle for the biscotti. I might dip some and drizzle some. Might add some ground hazelnuts to the ends on some too? Make it look like she has a variety :D
Fancy.

Yes, my mind is rolling in a million different directions.

I decided to bail on the in-person shopping for today, I am still not ready. I have a couple of ideas for online shopping for my SIL. Between that, cleaning my kitchen, and finishing up the biscotti, that is enough for me.

We were complaining about government forms and applications a while ago. I went to reapply for our heating assistance and I got locked out and there is no way to fix it or call or reset it. Seriously. I ended up having to scan/print/copy everything and stick it in the mail. We aren't going to be eligible since the kids have FT jobs now but I stil needed to submit everything. No idea what was wrong with the online submission, it was asking for my SS# and date of birth. I am pretty sure that I know them, yannow? :/

Oh yeah, my mind is spiraling. Ha! #crazy

Time to Post Thread, Faery!

xoxo

@tanteva Hahaha!!! You are only getting stuff done before me cuz you have a time zone advantage and you know :D
So now I am thinking... are AU and NZ the only countries that are far ahead of the Date Line? Wouldn't the easternmost area of Russia be part of that too? I am trying to imagine all of the longitudinal lines on a globe
(jeez, my brain is out of control)
Sorry about the sun being MIA again

@LSlycord That is a beautiful amount of daylight. You are so lucky. It's dark around 4.30 pm here.
Did you do any baking? That is how I am with shopping, this is the third time I have postponed that. I haven't even bought wrapping paper yet.
Sydney's schedule sounds absolutely awful but I am someone who can't make heads or tails out of simple addition. I think the frozen meals will be a huge help for her.

Eva-- I would be throwing a tantrum from that amount of daylight too.

@vickyday What a sweet story about your parents, it must have been so hard to lose them.:( My brother called last night and they are on his last nerve too. They are both so stubborn and refuse to give an inch. I've said it before-- *I'm* the calm one when it comes to refereeing between them all. That's a bad sign when I am the calm and stable one LOL
You are lucky that DH gives you dinner ideas. I ask my fam and they say "whatever you want to make." NOT helpful., pfft

@BrightEyes That sounds so strange to have fog, you are in such a dry area. It's really foggy here this morning but that is normal.
Hope that your back continues to get better, the massager must be a dream

@bcgal00 I *loved* the pics of Remi and Bella playing in their little sweaters, so dang cute! I'm with Taz, too old to go hiking in the cold :D Scott and Sam are going on a night hike tonight-- although they might not if it doesn't stop raining/sleeting. No way would you get me out in this cold.*shakes head* Nuh uh.
Please let us know when you make your muffins, we will want to cheer for you

@Cherylndesigns I hope that you are able to get the lights and tree up soon, it makes the houses look so festive.
I love the idea of having a photo of my parents nearby. I know I get that endorphin rush when I see pictures of me and Gary way back when. I think my parents are too far gone at this point. blergh

Eva-- have a good day at work, just think of the money!

That's the way it usually is. Mark will eat just about anything.....cold, hot.....whatever! So when he requests something specifically I try to accommodate.

Good Morning!
Quick in and out today. Heading to Ilene's. She is busy the rest of the week so she wants Carolyn and I to come today.
Other than that, nothing planned.
I was in the kitchen ALL AFTERNOON yesterday working on Mark's requests! ;) I still have one to go, but ran out of an ingredient.
It will be later today before I get back on here.
Have a great day!

It is a bright sunshiny day.. but the humidity is really up there - 65%! Yesterday's dense fog was caused by temp at 46*F and dew point at 46*. Can't tell what the temp is this morning as my outdoor thermometer sensor and indoor readers seems to have quit working. The reader in the kitchen said 54* and the one in bedroom said 65*...#crazy I change the batteries in both the outdoor senor and the bedroom reader but they are not working. Of course, they are about 15 years old... so guess it is time to buy a new one.... LOL The computer says it is 41*.

I see a lot of members are playing in the Day 6 - Song Lyrics Challenge. I couldn't resist making 2 LOs for the challenge and using different kits for them. There are so many wonderful new Christmas/Winter collections in the store and more being added every day. Have to remember that I can't scrap all day right now like I would love to do. The arm/hand have improved but still gets tingly if I spend more than an hour at it... <<< sigh >>>

Good luck on getting all the holiday cooking done... I remember those days well and must admit I am happy to not being working in the kitchen most of December. Think I will smart (lazy) and buy a frozen pecan pie to have for Christmas dessert.
Off to get another cup of coffee and then get dressed.

Good morning ladies. Other than getting a few groceries and stopping at the dog park for a few minutes, I'm home today. No hiking. Yesterday was so much fun with Bella and Jen along for our hike along the river. I photographed the eagles and hawks while the dogs played and ran up and down the river and through the bush. Thankfully our dogs are big enough that the raptures won't attempt to snatch them. They sure kept a close eye on them though.

I found a recipe for blueberry oatmeal squares that I am going to make (I give up on a muffin recipe for now). This will be good with a bit of flavored greek yogurt overtop. I'm going to see how I do with some oats in my diet. I want to increase healthy carbs this month and see how I do. If I gain weight or it kicks in my carb cravings then I will back off of them. The main problem in my diet is cravings which is greatly helped when I go low carb but I am bored with my food lately and need to switch things up. I've been good about not eating after dinner very often,, only a small handful of almonds or a Lara bar if I really feel hungry sometimes.

I need to get dressed, get coffee and go check in on my challenge soon. I'd better make personal quick and get out of here.

@faerywings You've been busy (as always), no wonder your kitchen was messy.
@BrightEyes Glad you are having fun with scrapping and although not quite back to normal, at least you are more functional now.
@vickyday You were busy in the kitchen too. You and Chris put me to shame, I have been talking about making muffins for weeks now LOL. Today is the day to get some baking done (oatmeal bars).

Gotta go, HAGD everyone.

Good afternoon all. I'm VERY slow today - like a slug. Dragging along...................get the picture? LOL

giphy.gif

Yep, this is me. I'm trying to find a free plug for my SAD light - I haven't crawled under my desk since my trip to plug my devices in. I've been so lazy and I took up the "convenient outlets". Now, I need to get my head in the game and get organized. UGH

Chris @faerywings you're just a little bakin' faery, aren't you? Those Biscottis sounds so Awesome - yes, fancy. I LOVE Scottish Shortbread but have never tried to make it. That sounds so good.

Still haven't made an agreement on the tree. Chuck has a toothache (although the dentist says there's nothing wrong with his tooth) and he's not in much of a mood to do anything. I told him this morning that if we don't - he has to put new lights up on the pole on the porch and I wants lights laid on the counter tops in the kitchen, at least. We can put them on the mantle too. We can drape them around the French doors in the kitchen, too. That would probably suffice for me this year. We had a big box of lights up at Adrienne's and they're here now. I think we must have used them on the tree because a lot of the pre-lit lights had burned out.

I made a LO for today again using Gather - I'm truly running out of ideas, but I made it this far. I'd better go post it and see what today's challenge is and get some stuff posted and put around on Social Media.

HAGD everybody, signed, The Slug

I spent all afternoon in the kitchen...not my idea of fun at all! But Mark asks so little from me that I don't complain when he asks for something.

Good morning ladies! Sunny and nice here this morning. Sounds a bit like a broken record doesn't it? But I'll take it! I did get a batch of cookies made...they are the green cornflake cookies that look like holly...so I only needed to melt butter and marshmallows but I got it done so I will take it. Going to do shortbread today...I say.

I didn't wrap any gifts but I'm going to get those done today. I think that I hate doing it because there are so few this year. But, it is what it is... I have a phone interview at 9:00 so I need to pull my resume out as a point of reference.
