I can never hear or write Dec 24th without following it up with .... Dec, 24th, 9 pm, Eastern Standard Time, from here on in, I shoot without a script. Rentheads will get the reference, but if you didn't, its the opening lines from the play. Rent. I have been listening to the soundtrack and Cait and I watched the play the other day.

I need to keep the message in mind. Forget regret or life is yours to miss-- no day but today.

My mammo yesterday did not go well. When I had the biopsy done in 2009, almost all of the calcifications were gone and now there are a lot more. The dr said that anytime something grows where it is not supposed to is a concern. I have two options, one is to go to a surgeon and have them remove the affected area or start with a biopsy and see what is there. Biopsy is scheduled for Jan. 13. Happy New Year. *scowls*

*insert rant about how I am so damn tired of trying to be strong!*

I also decided to not say anything to my parents until after Christmas. It is two-fold. I am protecting them. There is no need for my mom to have anything to worry about today and tomorrow, other than food, food, and grandkids and what food they want to eat and giving presents to g-kids etc and so on.... :D
The other part is for my own sanity-- I don't need my mom to start on me with her fussing. hehehehe!!!
Gary and the kids know, and unfortunately Scott isn't taking it so well. He worries so much about me on a good day and he feels things so deeply. Cait-- she is like me, can express in words but emotionally keeps herself locked up tight. I didn't realize how much she did that until I saw her crying over a book the other day. It hit me that I almost never, ever see her cry. And man, she is her mother's DD-- usually the only times I let myself cry is during a book or movie. (Frankenweenie-- sobbed hysterically!!). Gary is Gary-- stoic. Tells me there is nothing to worry about, which is good and true. (Dr said even worst case scenario-- if is cancer, it is very localized, there is no sign of any issues anywhere else)

So that is my good news and Merry Christmas tiding of joy.

On a more frivolous note- if ONE MORE weather forecaster says how it might snow and how pretty it will look and how *freaking everyone* LOVES snow on Christmas... I am gonna SCREAMMMMMMMMM!:target:

On that note, I am going to post this. I have been typing this for a long time n(lost it once, then cait keeps poppin gin to chat) so there is a good chance someone already started a thread for today. I'll merge them if that is the case.

love to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning- I am sorry for your news Chris and will keep you in my prayers. I enjoyed my son coming home yesterday- except he got less than 10 miles from home and then could not figure out how to get home due to closed roads from flooding. Once he got home it was fun, he and my husband talked shop- forever, it was fun to listen to them talk though. Today, more basement sorting, enjoying my son being home. I guess I should also plug in my silhoutte and see if it works. I know my basement fridge died, but not the wine fridge- priorities!!

howdy. it's snowing here. blerg. not supposed to amount to much. just enough to be a PITA.

Chris, so sorry about the news. it's a heck of a thing at any time of year, but especially now. i totally understand your not telling your Mom. telling people can become One More Thing you have to deal with. sending GOOD thoughts your way and hoping for nothing but GOOD news.

Laurie, great that your son found his way home! has the water outside gone down to normal yet? we have a flood warning on the Ohio River, i think. i live so high up, relative to the rivers and nearby streams, that if the water ever got to here, it'd be the end of the world. and YAAAAAY that the wine fridge survived!

Hubby drove down to The Grandmen and back yesterday. i got to SKYPE with them and see them and their parents opening our presents, which was fun. Hubby was going to stay overnight and come home today, but he came back last night because i wasn't doing that great, which was nice of him. well, at least he missed driving in the snow. it actually doesn't look that great out there. i wonder how many tractor-trailer trucks have wrecked on the PA Turnpike? a common occurrence at ANY time of year, but especially in this sort of weather.

hopefully i'll stop by later to see who else checked in. until then, Merry Christmas Eve! :becky:

Happy Christmas Eve!! My family finally made it here and we have been very busy with keeping the kids happy and making lots of fun things with them. They arrived late in the afternoon, but coming out West was not half as bad as others trying to get out East!! What a horrible ice storm they got! Was glad to hear that DD did not have a power outage, but did have lots of fallen branches!

Chris - My friend, I hope that all will be ok with your biopsy!! What a worry to have over the Christmas Season. I am sending you lots of positive vibes and will continue to do so until you hear the results. I agree that maybe at this time you should keep it to yourself and not tell your parents, especially if your mom worries so much about you!

Laurie - Glad that your son made it home through the flooding and that your MG and son are getting on so well! Good thing the wine fridge survived the flooding, what you do without that!!!!

Phylis - I hope that you are feeling better soon!! I am so sorry that you did not get to spend that time with your grandmen and get to open gifts with them! Nice that your hubby was concerned for you and came back home to be with you! I hope that the two of you have a nice Christmas together! At least you are both safe and sound in your cozy home!!

Ok I have to get the kids some breakfast and tell them to turn down the volume on the show that they are presently watching. :becky: Happy Christmas Eve all!!

hi, Angela! Merry Christmas to you, too!

Nancy, this just made me laugh:
My husband has decided today is the day to defrost the freezer - really but I am not stressing.
WHY do they DO stuff like that?? my husband used to decide it was time to go out and chop wood when there were tons of things to do and people were coming in an hour. we had a few screamers about THAT, believe me. i think he's cured of it now.

Trudy, bet it's tons of fun at your house! enjoy your Christmas with the Grands. and you are so right. it looks like going East in Canada would have been TERRIBLE. so glad we missed that ice storm, and you did, too!

Merry Christmas, everyone! :becky:

Just finished Christmas with my son, he is on his way back to Indiana, he wanted to drive in daylight. Many of the roads near here are still flooded and new ones are flooding. Apparently 4" of water on the state road I take to work swept a pick up truck off the road today. Still pleased I have the week off. REally need to head back to the basement and sort stuff out. The general humidity is 45% we want 40%, but the walls are all still showing wet- they have pulled the baseboards and drilled holes to help the drywall to dry. They will be back Thursday, and hopefully Friday the insurance adjuster will be here.
