The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Today is Big Baking Day and the butter and cream cheese have been sitting on the counter since 5.30 am. Maybe this year Caitlyn won't have to put the sticks of butter in her waistband to warm them up. :p

I hope that today is a less complicated day than yesterday. I can't tell you how much time I spent on the shopping order. Every time I tried to check out, the site timed out. The cart kept adding to itself and at one point there was >$300 in there- including 21 bananas and 18 avocados. There were also 8 garlic bulbs but in my house, that would not go to waste. heh. I am almost finished wrapping and was able to start packing some things up. My house is a disaster and it is hard to walk without tripping over something.
It didn't help the situation that Cait had to box up and ship out 8 of her Worms with Perms. She is going to have to ship out 12 more in the next 2 weeks- she sold 12/13 in an hour. 4 in the first 5 minutes! This run she made up little Adoption Certificates to tuck into the boxes. Really so cute.

I have to wake her up at 8 and we are going to start baking at 9. Wish us luck.
Hoping that all of you have a fab day!

You can see how tiny my kitchen is in this photo which is why I am always :blah: about people and dogs always being underfoot.

Trudy- Did it end up snowing enough for your Gary to get to use his new toy?
I am so relieved that the woman isn't being too difficult to work with and that she wants more paintings too. ITA-- put it aside until after the holidays. I know that when I am trying to accomplish too many things at once and stress myself out, I make mistakes and stupid choices trying to rush things through. Not saying that is what you did- but that is what I would do. ;) And pfft- you were not acting like a spoiled brat, you were frustrated and who wouldn't be?
Caitlyn had her eval meeting yesterday and her supervisors are so impressed with her. She is "proficient" and "highly proficient" in her internship- which is unusual the 1st Semester MSW Program. The top supervisor said that she was Superior Proficient in one area- Rat Caregiver  She is that!
I wish that the US would have stricter lockdown restrictions. Or at least parts of it. I am sad that your DS can't be with Heather and fam but you guys are going to get out of it much faster and better than the US. I hope that FT-ing with the grands cheered you up a bit.
We aren't sure if we will be able to get out on Christmas Eve- the weather is supposed to have heavy rains and flooding from the snowmelt, so after all of the planning, it seems that is falling apart too.

Nancy- congrats to DH for getting through a rough semester. Does his school have plans for getting back on campus more in the next semester or is just waiting until Feb 1 and hoping for the best at that time?
yay for hockey!!!! That is going to keep you busy and excited!
Hehe- you are a "dork" like me, I always have to do more research online after watching a historical TV show or movie.

Cheryl- Please try to take a picture of Ava's face when she opens the Bible, I would love to see her expression. The house is really coming together and I am so excited for you!!! :bounce:
Aw, how sweet that Cameron is coming home too. You must be so happy

Kay- Oh man, how frustrating that it will take so long for your finger to heal. Are you starting to feel more energetic post-cold?

Rae- I told Caitlyn about the situation with B and she is sending her love as well. There is no way I can tell you not to stress but I am proud of you for trying to keep your mind busy and going for walks with Taz, he has to keep you happy(ish)- more hugs to you all, and tell J we love her too!

Felis- wonderful news about your kitty!! Same with Ray- she had another decent day. I am not expecting miracles with her but a few weeks ago I was expecting the worst at any moment. Does your cat have a good chance of getting better completely? I hope so!
Middleton is going to be very happy with his toys! I wrapped up some more things for the dogs but they are like toddlers, they prefer the paper LOL
I am also relieved that seems like Ray will make it to Christmas, I always buy toys/treats in threes- one for each of them. I would be devastated if I only had two dogs to open them. But fingers crossed!
Take pics of your furbabies when they open their gifts too.

Hugs!

Good Morning ladies... Well yesterday was a very frustrating one LOL. I started my morning by mixing up a batch of sugar cookies and got the first cookie tray all ready to put in the oven. I pre-heated the oven and popped them in and not 5 minutes later, the oven died!!!! OMG!!! why does this keep happening to me??? So I got those out of the oven and popped them into the large toaster oven that I have. Got all the cookies baked and was going to start on the icing when the power went out. REALLY??? The power never came back on until almost 7pm. Not sure what we will do about the oven as we will never get anyone here to fix it before Christmas. Hopefully DH can take it apart and it will start to work again like when the repair guy came. He opened up the control panel and all of a sudden it just started working again. :noidea: The holiday gods are against me this year :frusty: We did get a big dump of heavy wet snow all day long, and DH was excited to come home and try out his new toy! It worked awesome and never clogged up once even with all of that heavy wet snow. He was a happy guy LOL. Today he ended up having to take my vehicle to work as his Truck is frozen solid and he could not get the doors open. Oh well no where I really need to be today. I did have swimming booked, but that's ok I will just call and cancel. I have sugar cookies to frost today and I need to order our calendar. Tomorrow is my day to get my hair done and pick up some last minute veggies for our Christmas dinner. Wonder what we will be able to cook in the toaster oven?? We were going to do a nice Prime Rib roast, but its a pretty big one and not sure it will fit in the toaster oven. Oh well we will see if my Gary can get this dam oven to work again tonight. I had a nice face time with Heather, Hunter and Mason yesterday morning and I was happy to hear that the parcel I sent at the beginning of December finally arrived. Whew I was starting to get worried about it. Our son got their parcel delivered over a week ago, not sure why it took so long to get to Heather's? Anyway I feel better knowing that everyone will have their gifts!

Chris - Good luck with your big baking day today!! I hope you have better luck than I did yesterday!! I remember when Caitlyn had to warm the butter in her pants LOL. Sorry you had such a difficult time getting your grocery order done! It must be so frustrating!! I am so happy for you that Ray is doing ok right now and that it looks like she will still be with you for the holidays!! How fun to watch the dogs open their gifts and act like toddlers preferring to play with the paper LOL. Tell Cait how proud I am of her for doing so well with her internship and her sales of her worms with perms. She is an amazing young woman!! Yes I feel much better knowing that I can put this painting aside until after the Christmas Season! Not sure when I can get the supplies that I need, but the client has offered to pay me more to help pay for the paints. So that is awesome!

Nancy - You must be so happy to have Hockey back to watch! Our Dr. Bonnie Henry will not allow the Canucks to play in Vancouver, so they will have to find another venue in a different province to play their games. She does not want players from other locations coming into B.C. We are trying to flatten the curve again. You're DH must be very happy to be done with this difficult semester! Thanks for the good advice on my painting, yes I am just stepping back and taking a deep breath!! Enjoy your days with your hubby and Luther, hope you can all get out for some good walks!

Cheryl - I too would love to see the look on Ava's face when she gets her Bible!!

Kay - Ouch your poor finger!! Still so sore and taking so long to heal, sure hope it feels better soon! Hope the cold is getting better also! Keep warm and cozy!

Ray - Did you get Taz out for a walk in the snow yesterday? Did you get as much as we did here on the Island?? Hope that you did not lose power like we did. The sun is shining on the mountains across the way and it looks so beautiful with all the snow. I hope you are able to find some beauty in your day today also! I think of you and your family all the time and are holding you close to my heart!!

Felis - So happy to hear that your kitty is doing better! Enjoy your scrapping and getting ready for the big day! Yes my Gary was like a little kid with a new toy yesterday and even happier that now he knows it can handle the heavy wet snow with clogging up! A happy man!! LOL.

Ok I guess I will get my frosting made for the sugar cookie tree and then I should be getting a face time call from Heather and boys soon! Have a lovely Tuesday everyone!

Ugh.... hate this stage of the cold. Woke up at 3 AM with nose running but also stopped up so difficult to breathe through it. Must have sneezed 20-30 times since then. I took some meds around 3:30 but didn't seem to make a difference. Didn't even try to go back to sleep due to way things were going. I usually have 1 really bad day during a cold - so think this is it. Should start feeling better soon. I had to LOL yesterday... felt a tug on the middle finger of the left hand when I shampooed my hair. Yep... tore that nail about halfway across - but it was just above the tip of the nailbed. Ended up clipping all my nail short as I know that once 1 or 2 start breaking - the rest will break soon. Haven't had my nails this short in several years.

I spent a couple of hours working on the layout using the photos from when I fixed Enchiladas. I was right... it took a 2-page spread to do most of them. It will posted right after New Year's. Gives me something to look forward to... :becky:

Oh. Chris... I cracked up when I saw the photo of Cait and the sticks of butter! ! ! I remember when you first posted it last year. Glad to hear you got it out early enough for the butter to soften this year. UGH... what a PITA you had trying to get your order finalized. Yikes... that would have been a very expensive order. Hope you got it straightened out.

Trudy... the baking gremlins are after you!!!! Can't believe your oven is acting up again. Hope your Gary can fix it for you. And to lose power to top it all off! Geeze... Glad to hear that the client is willing to pony up more $$ toward the new paints and wants a few more items done, too.

Typing too much... finger hurting... so wishing you all a good day. Hope your holiday wishes come true.

Good early afternoon my lovely OOOOOO's!!

It's a beautiful day today! It is currently 64 degrees! I'm so excited about all the happenings here! We're going to have Christmas here or at Ava's (we haven't decided yet). Then the day after Christmas is MOVING DAY! Our Son-in-law made everybody jump! He's been right in there working too - the man's a machine. Drove all the way from Florida then spent the whole first day here working up at our house!

Kay, I'm so sorry about your finger - dang! Had to cut all of your nails down? Hope it didn't hurt too much! You've had so much trouble with that finger! Maybe it's on the mend now. DH went through that with his big toe - he injured it and it took forever to heal.

Trudy, what's up with your appliances and power? Don't they know it's Christmas and they can't go out now???

Chris, that picture of the butter is hilarious! Only you and Cait would think of that but what a great idea! I'm a huge fan of butter, so I'll have to keep that in mind.

Girls, I have to cut this short today - Cameron is driving from the Arkansas airport and I'd better get ready for his arrival. He's going to be sleeping on our couch. All of the "inns" are full around here.

Lots of hugs to all of you in your baking endeavors and I promise to take a picture of Ava's face when she opens her Bible!! I can't wait to give it to her!!

GROUP HUG!!!
