I finished and wrapped a few more gifts yesterday. I donated to my niece's Dance Marathon fundraiser that she chairs at Rutger's (helps kids with cancer) as her gift. One basket was picked up and paid for so I can use that to do a bit more shopping today. Baked another batch of cookies. I am getting there.

The sofa came and it wasn't damaged. We typically have bad luck with furniture and appliance deliveries so this was a treat. It is comfy and looks nice with the rest of the odd furniture we have. So much of it is second hand that nothing goes together, but the gray fabric works. :)

Don't mind me today, my brain is 100% scrambled so if I rambling and all over the place, *shrugs* heh.
It is all good!

Today is Cait's last day of the semester. Two finals and she is all done. Do you remember the professor that Cait complained about that he graded strangely and told the class that no one gets As? She is exempt from the Final b/c she is getting and A-. That is my girl- so darn smart! Scott has a much harder Finals schedule, 2 today, 1 tomorrow and one on Friday. he is the smartest person in the family but he has such a hard time with testing. he knows his s*** inside and out but on tests-- he struggles. He has a learning disability with Math Processing Speed so I know that get him messed up with Chemistry. But the crazy kid makes nonstop puns on Botany Latin names. He ends up having to explain them to us but he knocks them out one after the other.

The rats are really starting to warm up. Olivia was the shyest and most skittish but she is really coming out of her shell. She has been giving Cait little baths and that a good sign that bonding is beginning. Caitlyn made some hammocks and tunnels out of fleece and Olivia loves the little tunnel. While making the tunnel, Cait sewed something on the wrong ends and ended up with a fleece bag. She put that around her neck and let the rats snuggle inside. Like a baby sling for rats ;)

Today I have to finish the ShopRite online order and then I am off to DMV/Dollar Store.
Have a fab day!!!

Trudy- I am waking up at 4 am regularly, so I know how you feel. Were you able to get back to bed? That is something that I can't seem to do, once I am up, I am up. :(
How exciting to get the painting done-- I am so excited to see the final result.
Congrats on being done with Christmas shopping! (*jealous* haha!).
I was in a panic yesterday- Scott thought that his friend Lauren was coming over in the afternoon so they could study together. She is vegan *and* gluten-free. I had no idea what to cook- I have made tofu for her and Cait before but I didn't have the time to make the tofu and chicken that I usually do. Is it awful that I was happy that he went to her house to study? ;)

Felis- yay for you for getting snow! (keep it on your continent!!) It sounds like it was a good day for hot chocolate and TV.
I forgot to post the pics of the bottles and wreath, I will share them next. Please post pics of the dogs as elves.
Don't be jealous ever of the picture of my family- we are swamped with stress, anxiety, and chaos- but the dogs are fun for the most part. W still gets so wound up at times and when she and J playfight- it is so loud and vicious sounding that I have to stand by to make sure no teeth are involved. They never are, at least not in the last 8 months or so, but having seen them fight before, it makes me cautious.
Yes, the sofa was supposed to be here after the holidays but it worked out early but it is done and Gary is happy.

Kay- keep up the good night's sleeping! I hope that you waited to go to the base with your DD. I know that when I went to the warehouse with my mom last week, it made it much easier. I hate that store and would have given up and walked out if it weren't for her. That is great that you got PSE!! Congrats!
Of course, you stuck your nose in the milk jug-- why do we do that?? :pound:

Rae- Have "fun" with Darrell being home for 2 weeks :D Is your work going to be slow for the next couple of weeks?
I am so glad that he is going to go with you and J today. Give J a big hug from me-- tell her that she has all of us her on her side and wishing for the best!!
Thank you and Kay for mentioning the new NR book-- My library doesn't allow holds for the first 2 months a book is released (crazy!) but I will have to see when I am able to do that.

Stacey- I am really sorry that Dory isn't working out. Having dealt with a dog with severe separation anxiety, I know how hard that is. We adopted her at 6 months old, and she *hated* the crate. The second we put her in it, she would poop and then kick it all over the wall behind her. She would whine all day and my neighbors complained so we ended up paper-training her in the basement. She ate our couch. Scratch that-- two couches. We had her on Prozac for dogs which helped. We only had the one neighbor that could hear her so living in an apt complex would have been miserable for everyone. Including the dog. As hard as it may be, it seems to me that she would do much better in a different type of home/area. And it sounds way too stressful for you and your DH. I hope that I am not butting in where I don't belong. Just know that I am supporting you!!

I am running a little late-- love to all of you!

good morning - my Devils play tonight against the Maple Leafs. I am hoping for a win but not expecting it. It will be cold. Yesterday was an aquatic therapy day. I do enjoy being in the pool but it is the getting out that makes it hard. Been doing lots of scrapping and it feels good to see how much progress I have made. OMgosh it is cold out. And the wind is fierce. It will probably not get above freezing. I cooked a yummy Blue Apron meal - popcorn chicken with Korean seasonings, roasted broccoli and rice topped with a great spicy sauce.

Chris congrats on the getting so close to the finish line. So glad that those rat babies are getting so friendly. And your gifts are awesome. Your thoughts on the dinner were perfect. I can never think of what to make and then if you throw in someone with different food needs I would freak out. My family is meat eaters.

Trudy glad the painting is done. You are super creative! Congrats on getting all those gifts off the to receivers.

Rae good luck with the meeting. We are all behind you and Jen. We know that you will be doing your best to make sure that B receives the best care in return. Have fun with your DH these two weeks.

Kay bummer when the milk goes bad. It always seems to go bad when you want it the most. How nice to be right down the road from your DD.

Felis congrats on having a snowy Christmas. We are due to get lots and lots of rain. I really dislike rain. Yes I want to see the dogs as Elves.

Stacey I am sorry to hear about the troubles with Dory. Our Luther gave us too problems when he was young. But he was not a barker so that helped. My DH and I went on a cruise and we left Luther home alone. My son was there but he worked. We had the neighbor's son walk him. Well the first day he came over to walk Luther, he found Luther had destroyed his bed, toys and the room was in shambles. Once Luther realized that he had not been totally left he calmed down. He was also give a bone when my son left so he had something to chew. I sure hope it works our for you which ever way you decide to go.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... I am late getting in here this morning, just been busy with a few things around the house. I actually slept until 7am this morning and feeling much more alive today than yesterday! Not too much happening here today, except for a bit more painting and hopefully finish my Santa off today. Not sure why you all think that I was done? :becky: I am done with gifts, but not my painting LOL. Oh well I guess perhaps I did not explain myself too well yesterday (what else is new!) Not raining at the moment here today, but sounds like we are in for another storm and I can see that there is fresh snow on the top of the nearby mountains, so hopefully it stays there and doesn't get any closer to us! Will see my sister Wendy today and drop off a Norwex order to her, she is having her Christmas with her DD and grandkids on the 22nd, so she has been busy trying to get everything ready for her early get together.

I will have to pop in later to catch up with everyone too as DD is trying to facetime with me now.

Hi everyone. Just a quick update and then I'd better get back to work. Looks like B is getting transferred tomorrow to a rehab facility. Yay! It's only about 1/2 hr drive away so that is better for us visiting. It sounds good. We brought most of her things home from her current room and tomorrow will bring it to the new home and visit with her, hopefully helping to calm her as I expect she'll be agitated with the new environment. This is where she will live for many months/yrs until she is ready (if ever) for a home environment. We had a good mtg today with the doctors and they are all positive about this placement for her and think its the best place for her.

So, keep the good thoughts coming and I'll be back later or tomorrow morning to chat. BFN
