How was everyone's Monday?
I got so much done, for real. All of the gifts that I have on hand are wrapped. I ordered one more for Tom's stocking and I think I am done with the immediate family. I am still struggling with the parents and my brother but my Food Gift Thread gave me some ideas. And I finally -literally just now- figured out what to do for Sam for her birthday which is Dec. 26. She shares it with her brother so it's an incredibly difficult day for her. :brokenheart: I am going to scrap a few recipe cards of meals that I know she enjoys with an open-ended invite. I don't see her on her b-day so I can tuck the recipes in with her card and she can open it whenever she can.
I finally got the stockings hung up and found the tree skirt in the attic along with cookie tins I must have bought on sale after the holidays last year. And probably the year before, there's a lot.

I am cleaning for one friend today and then I need to tidy up here. The kids are hosting Haunted Christmas tonight. They'll be upstairs but their friends still need to walk into the house to get there. LOL

Sending all of you love and light!

Good morning,
Quick in and out for me today.
IBS struck last night and I'm still not feeling well. I'm going to be in my pj's for the day. I'm even going to wear them to pick up my grocery order.
Have a good day!
Yuck!! I hope that you are feeling much better by now! Take another PJ day if you need it.

@AK_Tracy Eeep! I hope the chiro was able to get your hip loosened up without hurting too much in the process. I'd rather do that than the Christmas shopping with the kids, however.

@taxed4ever I hate shopping by myself, but I hate it even more when I am, with other people so I understand why you weren't able to find anything with your Gary. Happy early birthday to your sister!

@pachimac That is unbelievable that they sped off (sorry, 1000% believable :( )
I'm really sorry that you are about to become the unpaid and probably underappreciated chauffeur.

@Cherylndesigns It is *OK* if the ambition doesn't come. The only thing that matters ATM is that you take care of yourself. Everyone loves you and wants the same.

Is it an Older generation thing about wrapping presents? I always tell my mom that it does not have to be perfect and she makes herself batty over how precise it all has to be. Took her years before she switched partly to using gift bags, she thinks that is cheating hahaha!

@bcgal00 How did you do at Bingo?? Hope at least one of you won big!!!

@BrightEyes What a sweet visit you had with DD#3. That's the kind of gift I would appreciate if only so I don't have to spend an hour searching for the lid to match the container.

@AK_Tracy You have me beat! I ordered a candle for Scott from Amazon on Nov 29th and it was supposed to be here today. Got the notice yesterday that it's delayed and won't be here until Dec 27-29. It's his favorite candle, and $$$ so it's his main gift.
Smells amazing BTW. But it's $10 shipping to order from their website and if I order from Amazon, I can use Rewards points. Meanwhile he is going to open a box with a photo of it inside this year. harrrrumph!

Cheryl and I joke about our love-hate relationship with Amazon. Feel free to join in! :soapbox:

@mimes1 --The Banner Day quote is one that resonates, TFS!!

I am so excited for Cheryl and Susie!!!
:smiliesdoingwave2:

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas (but then gets shared at the O :devil2: )

Hugs, my dear O-Fam!

One day at a time, girlie! You're almost done! :hug2:

Good morning,
Still fighting a headache today, but the tummy is feeling better! I ate very little yesterday so as not to add hurt to injury.....or however that saying goes, LOL! Anyway, I do fee somewhat better today. I wish I could say I slept better......I actually did.....until I didn't! It is what it is!

Mark wanted to take the internet box to Spectrum for an upgrade yesterday, so I rode along just to get out of the house for awhile. Then we stopped by the church to switch out the song books. The group of people whose pastor died brought their song books to us. We need more than they gave us, but the pastor will order more.

Then we took a birthday gift to one of Mark's grandchildren. His sister wants me to come to her program at school tomorrow, so I will be doing that! Hope this headache goes away by then! Mark wanted to do lunch today, but I told him my stomach is telling me that I better not!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Meanwhile he is going to open a box with a photo of it inside this year. harrrrumph!
HA! I'm sure he will be fine with that! I just ordered from Amazon prime for Mark's son's kids who live in Myrtle Beach, SC. Toys plus gift cards for the teen and almost teenaged boys. The toys are for the 3 year old. It is "supposed" to be there tomorrow.......we shall see if that actually happens, LOL!
Is it an Older generation thing about wrapping presents?
I think so! I personally LOVE the gift bags! They can be so pretty! And I love having pretty tissue paper sticking out of the top!
I hope that you are feeling much better by now! Take another PJ day if you need it.
Somewhat better, but still not 100%! I am definitely taking another PJ day! Just wish the headache would disappear!

Morning O family! It is so dark and gloomy outside this morning, but tomorrow the sun is supposed to come out for a bit. Hopefully it will be during our hike! Today I need to get a card made for my hiking BFF and slip it to her before she leaves from the hike. I did not make any for the others, so I want to be discrete about it. Our hiking group is getting so big if I made a card fro everyone I wouldn't have any card stock left :giggle4: . I had a somewhat successful shopping trip yesterday and found three very nice sweaters for the colder temps in Ottawa. I originally wanted to get some new pj's, but totally forgot once I was trying on all those clothes. Perhaps this afternoon I will run to Winners and find some pj's. I still have wrapping to do, but that should not take too long, then I need to get the suitcases from the crawlspace and find our Christmas stockings to pack. Another exciting day :spinningchair:.

I am so glad you got so much accomplished yesterday! That sucks that Scott's gift will not arrive on time for Christmas though! Poor Sam, it must be such a difficult time of the year for her and the whole family! Too funny that you now have so many cookie tins, you should see how many my MIL has! It's ridiculous!! I own two and they rarely get used LOL. Nice to have if you are baking a ton of cookies though! I bet there will be lots of laughter coming from the upstairs of your house! Hope everyone has a great time at the Haunted Christmas Party!! How fun!!

Sorry you still have a headache today! Probably a good thing not have much to eat and irritate your stomach once again! Sounds like you are getting all your Christmas shopping done and hopefully everything arrives on time! The gov't here has legislated Canada Post to get back to work, so now we will have a full mailbox in the next few days, they sure messed up a lot of Christmas Joy for a lot of people!! What an awful time to go on strike!!

Ok I will hop in the shower and get out to find pj's before the heavy rain starts today, its supposed to be a lot of wet weather today! It should be mostly snow on the mountain tops and we sure need the snow pack!! The ski communities will love it! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! :waving3:

Amazon shopping has sure ruined me for going out shopping! Now, if I could just get them to send me cash for the rest of the kids! ;)
New jammies! How exciting! I am bad about wearing the same old thing until it is thread-bare! I can always find something more exciting to spend money on! :giggle4:
Hope the weather is delightful for your hike tomorrow! Its so nice that you have a hiking BFF to help when the hike is toilsome!

It was a quick in here and out this morning. Forgot to post... :rotfl: I did do a couple of LOs but they won't be released for awhile.

I was off and running - paid a bill in person... then a stop at Dollar Tree across the street from the Credit Union . They didn't have what I stopped in for so headed over to the one closer to my house. Yes, they had a couple of the truffle boxes and a 2025 Calendar... stood in a long check-out line. As I was ready to go out the door - the bread delivery guy arrived with my favorite bread (Sara Lee Artesano). Asked an employee how long it would be before they were on the shelf. ... she said about 20 minutes - so I waited and they were on the shelf within 10 minutes! The wait was well worth it as I discovered another shelf with the Truffle boxes.. :yesss: And to make it even nicer - the mailman had just finished putting the mail in the neighborhood's mail boxes!

@faerywings Your mention of cookie tins reminded me that I have 4-5 empty ones plus the one DD#3 brought cookies in - that I will never use. I don't make cookies any more. I will see if DD#3 wants them as she still makes cookies.

@vickyday Sorry you have not been feeling well. Hope you improve quickly. Oh, I love PJs and usually buy 1-2 sets each year - especially the winter weight ones as I feel the cold more.

@taxed4ever Enjoy your trip and take lots of photos.

@Cherylndesigns I saw your new FB profile photo... looking good gal!!

Need to go through the mail... then decide what I want to make for supper... either tacos or taco salad. Either one used cooked hamburger with taco mix. For the salad - I break up tortilla chips as a bed, then add chopped lettuce/tomato/onions; then the cooked taco meat and shredded cheddar cheese. And top it with guacamole... yummy!! Think my mind/tummy have decided on the taco salad. :claphands: Will have enough taco meat leaf over, I can have tacos tomorrow. Sounds like a win/win to me. :girldance:

Thank you. Feeling better this afternoon. Even ate supper with DH.
Sounds like you had a successful outing today!

Good evening all.

Two days in a row posting - go me. I have all of my "wrapping done" as of today. Chris, @faerywings tell your mom to "get over it" and start using these beautiful gift bags that are available now. I got some of the most beautful gift bags - many of them came from The Dollar Tree, the rest from Walmart. Honestly, if you "jazz them up" with lots of pretty tissue paper, some curling ribbon and cute tags - pfffft. I used to love wrapping presents, but the paper these days isn't thick like the paper used to be and the second one of my fingernails goes through the paper, I'm ready to throw it out in the woods.

Adrienne and "the girls" came down this evening and she proclaimed that she was DONE wrapping so I gave her all the extra bags I bought plus a bunch of tissue paper that I had left over. Good old Dollar Tree for tissue paper - I way overbought it so I was glad to share the wealth.

Yes, Chris @faerywings I am SO excited to be able to go meet and spend lots of quality time with Susie! We have become such good online friends and have been joking about my coming out to Vegas the next time Adrienne and Roger go out and by golly, they surprised me with the fact that they had, last-minute, decided to go over New Year's. I know it's going to be crazy in the airports, but we're driving to Tulsa - about an hour and a half, so we'll have a non stop flight. I promise we'll be good - :partyhorn: :floorlaugh:......................Define Good. :yesss::highfive::lol23::lol23:

Kay @BrightEyes thanks for the comment about my new profile picture. Adrienne is a master makeup artist and if I could just carry her around in my back pocket, I'd have it made. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh: We were going to a party recently, and she did my make up and blew my hair out, then curled it. She said "Mom, I have to take your picture". She's totally a make up (make over) artist. :smiliesdoingwave2:

You are all the best and I hope to be back up and running (hopefully) after the first of the year, but can't promise - the anniversary of Chuck's passing is 1/22/24, so we'll see. I'm getting better all the time - the Christmas season hasn't been easy, I won't lie. I THINK the family is coming to my house Christmas morning for breakfast (not TOO early) then to open our presents. I want to make Chuck's egg and sausage casserole which I made for Mother's Day in May and was told that it was as good as his. (I'm not sure about that, but I want to make it again.)

Love and hugs to ALL - I'm not planning to be gone until the first of the year, though. :lol23::lol23::lol23:
