Good morning to you all! Happy Tuesday and hopefully a calm day before the literal storm. The weather reports are predicting that my area is going to get 12-18" inches of snow tomorrow into Thursday with high winds which could lead to power outages.

I did not have a productive day yesterday. I did a lot of things but nothing came out right. Both batches of shortbreads broke and crumbled on me. The broken bits taste good but they look pretty darn ridiculous. It took me three tries to finish my food order and I still don't think I have everything that I need. Then I made a roast chicken for dinner and cooked it upside down. No wonder the legs kept flopping around! :D
On a better note, Ray had a decent day. No falling over or stiffening up. She was very happy to get her dinner and I even gave her more when she was done. That was a relief.

I would like to say not much happening here today but that would be a lie. As soon as I get home with the food order, I have to make a batch of the dog cookies. Caitlyn has to run up to the vet to get some abx for Liv who is getting congested again. Rats are very prone to respiratory infections which can turn into pneumonia very quickly so she knows when to get them treated. As long as she has to make the trip up the mountain she is going to bring them their Christmas cookies so we don't have to go up there next week.
I think this afternoon, I *have* to start wrapping. I haven't even opened the packages that came in the last few days. Sadly, scrapping is going to have to wait.

Sorry for being a bummer today. It's been a long year. ;)
hugs!!!!

Trudy- so sorry that you had another yucky night's sleep. I hope some coffee perked you up and you didn't drag too much. That is so funny that you double whammied against the snow! Now your Gary won't have to take your car to work if it does actually snow.
The painting is going to be beautiful- do you think it will be done before the holidays?
Was Storm sick before the seizures started? I can't remember if you mentioned it. Yesterday was a better day for her so that was nice, even as she kept wandering in the kitchen while I was trying to cook dinner LOL

Rae- what did you put in your stir fry? Caitlyn loves the veggie fried rice I make but I am looking for recipe ideas too. Thx for the hugs and back at you!

Nancy- you didn't get any snow yesterday? It snowed up here all day but thankfully it didn't stick to the roads, just the lawn and cars. How much are you supposed to get tomorrow? I would be thrilled to send it down to you!
How sweet that the town was still able to have Santa drop off gifts.

Cheryl- I read your post about Daisy and her seizures. It is really hard seeing them scared. It is horrible - this part. My BFF recently had one of her dogs put down too, he was a year older than Ray and she reminded me that the "before" period- watching wondering waiting, is always harder than the after. Even as we miss them, we know that they are in a better place. We lost two pets already this year. But yes, I always think about the Rainbow Bridge. We joke about how our-fur family is getting along (or not, as the case may be LOL). Bunny is probably bossing them all around.
I don't really scare you, do I??? :scared:
I am just a "don't mess with my kids" kinda mom. But aren't we all?
Icy roads are scarier than snow so I am relieved that everyone was safe and sound. Two years ago, Scott, Cait, and Cait's BF at the time were driving home on Christmas Eve and hit black ice. Thank God that they were OK but Brendan's car was totaled.
(I will still never forgive Gary who got the call from them, woke me up to say that the kids were in an accident, were "fine" and then took off. I was able to call them and they were only 5 minutes from the house so Gary got there quickly. But still!)
If you lived in Michigan, my :yell: about the cold and snow is nothing to you. Smack me down b/c I will be complaining about it from now until the end of March :D
Great advice for insomnia, I wish the tea would work for me but I would have to pee every other hour which would defeat the purpose. I like sleep meditations and they usually can get me to sleep initially but the middle of the night insomnia, not as well.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!!!

Hi girls, 10 days till Christmas, yey! Actually in my country Christmas Eve is much more important! These who are religious makes fasting and who not have this one veggan night, where have to have 7 or more odd number dishes. Christmas Eve is traditionally only for the family. But we'll have to limit your going outside now, so to can be able safety to spend the Christmas day with our extended family. We thing for option when my parents go to seeing their families separated, but I'm not sure that in this have sense. Will see, it's not depends only from us.

Chris, sending you many hugs! I'm happy to hear the good news about Ray! The pack of Ray's ancestors souls will be around when the times is come! You'll feel it and you'll know that have to let her go! I hope this to not happen this year! Hope Liv to be good too! It's not surprising that your heart and your mind aren't into the daily tasks now! Wish you more productive day today!

Trudy, I hope that Gary will have chance to try his snowblower very soon, and will can enjoy on white christmas!

Rae, I'm still not find time for Star Trek Discovery, but it's on my list. I was too busy with the reality show I'm told you about previous years, the one like Big Brother, but people have to live locked in empty place at the village and this year they had to build farm houses. The girl I was for won, so I'm very happy. It's ended this Saturday.

Nancy, thanks for asking. For now I'm concentrated on knitting. But I was able to make good looking small coin purse. Of course I had no zips and now hope this order to come on time! Rain means mud which isn't so fun, I hope you'll have snow soon, but not to much to be dangerous, just enough to be pretty!

Cheryl, I also have insomnia to, it is functional, not emotional (it's not triggered by worries) and music do helps me sometimes, or basic yoga. I absolutely love fall and winter at some point, can't imagine to live on hot place.

Morning, all. Still having pain in finger so typing is a challenge yet. Think I may be coming down with a cold as the nose is running like mad. Glad I have a good supply of tissues as I have used a lot already. Took some cold meds - hope that will help. It us COLD out... was 20* when I got up. Think this will be a PJ day for sure.

Chris, I heard on the Weather Channel that your area was going to under the gun for snow/wind. Hope it doesn't get too bad and blows over quickly. Stay safe and warm.

good morning - Yesterday the Electoral College voted and Biden was elected. So now it is really happening. Well my DH made it in to work yesterday but today he is home. So we walked Luther early. It was a short walk not because of the cold but poor Luther seems to have a limp so not letting him go too far. Yesterday was a watch movie day. I kept hearing how good this movie with Meryl Streep, Candace Bergen and Diane Wiest was and well it was okay. The best part was the views of the QEII as they took a crossing of the Atlantic. But I did watch an interesting movie Otherhood. It was about 3 best friends, mothers with grown sons and how the mothers were forgotten on Mother's Day. Today I am going to scrap and not get caught up in movies. So I am either going to play music and right now I am watching the Carrie Underwood's Christmas song special. I really love her voice.

Chris I am so glad Ray had a good day. Hope it continues many days to come. Sorry about the short bread cookies. I don't care how they look just how they taste. Hope the food pick up goes well. That is so nice of you to bring the vet the dog treats! I hate wrapping as I am so bad it. I like bags but I don't think little kids like that so I will have to wrap. And yes we got no snow all rain. So yes I am hoping for some whiteness. We are in the 8-12 inches but being so close to the shore it will depend on the track of storm. So please send it too me.

Trudy sorry you slept so badly too! I heard the NHL and NFL both wanted to purchase vaccines for the teams but that got out and the anger that they would take doses from front line workers, doctors and nurses caused both to say they would never step to the front of the line. I hope that is true. I want to see hockey so will be interesting to see how this is done. Have fun with painting.

Rae how was the walk with Taz? I bet he was happy to walk!

Cheryl wow Michigan has cold winters. I lived in Wisconsin for several years and it too gets cold. I think I loved the snow because it had to be warm to snow - it was always after the snow that bitter cold came. But we cross country skied with I totally miss.

Jean OMgosh what a football game. I am so sorry for the Browns. Does this put them out of the playoffs.

Felis I love Christmas Eve. I like to walk around our town. If it was not too cold I like to walk to our church for midnight mass and if you come early you hear the choir sing carols. It was hard to get my sons there early but I tried. And I cant believe only 10 days.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... Dark, Dreary, Wet, Wet Day!!! It will be a good day to spend inside, but I need to get to swimming this morning. I booked an earlier time than usual, for some reason they added an extra time slot that wasn't there before and I haven't seen it for the future either. Hmmmm??? Not sure what is going on with that! Which reminds me I need to book for next week. So this might be the last day that I am here for a bit, I need to totally concentrate on my commission painting! This lady is very particular as to what she wants and now wants me to add some embellishments to the finished pour. I told her I would not guarantee a delivery for Christmas, but would be happy to do what she wanted. I have been losing sleep over this one and spend most of the night mixing up paint colours and re-doing this large painting! LOL. Ok Heather and Hunter are calling so I will catch up with everyone a bit later on.

Good morning, everyone. Heading out soon for a routine vet appt for Taz, then groceries. Other than walking Taz later, that's it for me today. Quiet day of light desk work and puttering. Made banana bread last night and we all like it so I'll make a few more this wk and freeze them.

Chris - my sauce is 1-1.5 cups chicken stock, 1/4-1/3 c soy sauce, about 1/2 tsp garlic and onion powder, 2/3-1 tsp ground ginger, a half tsp of chinese chili paste if I have it on hand, tbsp cornstarch and sometimes will add in a sprinkle of red chili pepper flakes. Easy recipe, just mix all together and after half cooking veggies (with cooked meat if you use it) pour in and let simmer for about 10 min. Sometimes I add a bit more soy, after tasting just before serving.

Trudy - sorry you are stressed about the painting but I'm sure it'll be amazing.

Felis - we are loving STD and when you find time to watch, hope you enjoy it as much. Your reality show really sounds interesting. You know I love our Big Brother and can't wait for the new year and a new season.

Kay - sending you healing thoughts.

Nancy - our weather has been wet so Taz loves our walks b/c he gets to race and splash thru puddles. I'll have to check the gallery, haven't seen any LOs with Luther for awhile. Your dog is so beautiful.

I'm off to get a bit of work done before heading out with Taz. BFN

Good evening my lovies,

Chris, you know I was just messing with you LOL - I DID tell Ava that "Auntie Chris" was "watching". She laughed so hard - she loves that I have these wonderful relationships with my CT friends and loves hearing about our shenanigans. She told me to tell you that she would remember that. I hope that my post on seizures helped you - they're extremely frightening - both for your dog and for you.

BTW - we met Trey today and he's such a sweetie! He's a true "gentleman cowboy" - he sat down and talked to us like he'd known us his whole life. I'd say that first impressions were - we both really liked him! Major thing - Daisy loved him! She latched onto him from the minute he came in and he petted and loved on her the whole time he was here.

Ava and I have made up a "list" of musts: Must love dogs (and cats) is right up near the top. Must fit in with family - he said that his family is loud and crazy too. So far, so good. Chuck liked him too - if the person passes the "Chuck test" that's a real bonus.

I'm a total "don't mess with my kids" and I've expanded that to "don't mess with my grandkids". 8)8)8) When FB first started, the grandkids were on there and I always "stalked" their posts. One time, this kid threatened to come beat up Cameron (the oldest) and he said "you better not mess with me - I have a really mean grandma". :spy::eek2::eek2::eek2:

Felis, I'm so happy to read that music helps you too. I've had a sleep disorder my whole life and this is the only thing I've found that really helps me sleep. I remember, as a child, laying away half the night - after everybody was asleep in the house. It was horrible.

Nancy, yes - Michigan has cold and LONG winters! I hope that the winters aren't as severe here, which I've been assured they aren't. We had that "big"snow 2 days ago and today it's just slush. I still went out with Daisy today and took a long walk. She doesn't seem to mind the cold snow on her paws.

Hugs and love to all.
