The question on everyone's mind is: "Is Faery feeling any less stressed (more emotionally stable) today?"
The answer: "Sure, why not. We'll go with that."

Bwuhahaha!

I am sort of better. I told Gary I was struggling. He hugged me and said, "You go through this every year and it always works out." He is right. I even told him that if the past few years are any indication, I'll be better by the end of next week. This is always the most complicated point when I have too many irons in the fire and they are *thisclose* to exploding all at once.

Yesterday was a mishmash of getting things done and not. I had planned to make Caitlyn and Tom's ornaments yesterday but his mom has Covid so he is staying here for the next few days. That threw the morning off since I can't pull out the supplies while he is around. I finally got the buttons (ew) sewn onto Sam's shawl- took me forever, I really can't sew to save my life. I had to run to two different pharmacies to pick up Rxs. Of course, mine weren't called in/approved by my Dr office. They are the *worst* with that. It happens every darn time. I called them and they were supposedly having the Dr refill/approve them yesterday but I am not counting on it. And guess what the Rxs are for?? My anti-anxiety meds! ROTFLMAO!
I thought I had enough time to paint the ornaments before Caitlyn came home but they aren't done so they are all in pieces on my dresser. Can't do them today either, it is Tom's day off so he'll be popping in and out again today. He is driving Cait to work and then picking her up to go to one of their vegan restaurants for dinner that is close to her job. Can't get aggravated when he treats her so well. ♥
I was then thinking I would make the fregolata (almond cookies) but I can't justify the 9 egg yolks I need to use. Eggs (as you all know LOL) are brutally expensive and I can't see wasting half of them. I usually cook the egg whites for the rats but they can't eat that much. :/
I am going to look through my cookbooks/recipe sites for an almond cookie that uses fewer eggs.

So yup, same old craziness as always. It's all good!
Have a fun day today!

@LSlycord I am really sorry that you are feeling stressed out too. Is there any way to paint over the name on the ornament? What if you covered it with chalk paint and used a paint marker to write her name on it?
I am still struggling with gift ideas. I have next to nothing for Gary and we usually come up with crazy gag gifts for stockings. I am falling short there too.
Sorry that you postponed the trip to Meritt Island, you will enjoy it more when there isn't as much hanging over your head. I paid bills yesterday too- nope, not fun.
it's an excellent sign that Syd *doesn't* want to race home, which means she is happy at school. A good way to flip it around

@BrightEyes Yay for getting all of the challenges done! I only got to a few of them so far. I'm glad that we have until the end of the month. I am happy and relieved that your arm is feeling better. I will have to take a few pics of the projects in process - along with the skeleton dog and his bow :D

@tanteva Are you feeling any better? Sorry that the dentist appt stunk.
Pretty picture. What does it mean? ;)

@vickyday I should ask you and Eva for some basic yarn suggestions- I asked MIL for embroidery scissors and a needle to weave in ends, mine are shot. I told her that yarn is always fun but didn't have any suggestions since I don't have any projects in mind. Any new favorites?

@bcgal00 I think we all feel your pain between the dentist and the Drs not calling in the Rxs properly. I hope that you got through it all ok.
LOL! That is exactly what Gary said to me about the holiday stress too. GMTA ♥ Great mind also know me well ♥
Umm, I am thinking you might want to invest in a snow-making machine, the kind they have at the ski resorts. Remi is not going to give you a minute's peace otherwise haha

@scrap-genie CONGRATS!! That is such an accomplishment. It's like writing a Ph.D. level dissertation. You have every last finger/toe/eye crossed. Heck, I'll ask Rita to cross all 8 of her eyes that the judges love your work!!

Good morning. Another beautiful day here although Shaun said that it doesn't feel like Christmas around here and I quite honestly had to agree. I guess when you grow up with cold and snow for Christmas, this will never feel that it's Christmas when it's sunny and warm.

We had such a good day yesterday. We did wind up going to Merritt Island yesterday. Shaun said that he'd go with us so we just jumped into the car and took off. Stopped to have breakfast along the way. We had not been there before. There is a loop called the Wildlife Loop in the National Wildlife Refuge. It is incredible. The number of birds and alligators...really was amazing! And, you will never believe this, or you might. I forgot my camera and had to settle for my iPhone. Still...it was a very fun day and we will go back so I didn't even stress over that.

Shaun was our gator spotter...he spotted 4. That was quadruple the number that I have seen in Florida since I have been here. And he was so cute. Each time I would get out of the car to go walk around, he would jump out to go with me...kind of like a service dog for fear that I would need some kind of assistance. I recognized the behavior immediately because I did that with my parents.

Sydney is taking her last final this morning...started at 7:30 a.m. This is Physics and will probably be her lowest grade. Her Differential Equations grade is in. She wound up with an A- and she was sad about that. Physics will probably be a B+...she said that if she got a 0 on the final, she would still get a C and pass the class because of all of her previous grades. The other four classes are A's so I told her not to worry about it...just to be proud. She said that she will be home for lunch tomorrow. After today's exam, she is "roommate bonding" over coffee and then hanging out with a few friends before she works on her paper.

So I'm no longer stressing. Just enjoying the moment. Going to refill the coffee and I'll be back for personals.

@faerywings I'm glad that you are feeling a bit better about Christmas. I did think about trying to "fix" the ornament but the company said that they would refund the money so I think that it will just go into the trash. And, it isn't like she won't be getting a surprise...she and Shaun are both getting a battery charger with an air compressor to carry in their cars. What more could you ask for? LOL And you are totally right that I'm glad that she enjoys her time

@BrightEyes you are a layout machine! I seriously cannot believe how you managed to get all of these done. I will get them all finished before the end of December...I think that I have three challenges remaining! Glad that your arm has held up well enough to take on a challenge for next month!

@tanteva and @bcgal00 I am now a participating member of the "I hate the dentist" card club. Never used to feel that way but now...I dread it!

@bcgal00 I took your advice to heart and remembered that I need to appreciate the fact that my family is all going to be here together! You would have loved Merritt Island yesterday...and I'm pretty sure that you would not have forgotten your camera. #dk#crazyThat's really all that I have to say about that.

@vickyday I hope that you really did enjoy a leisurely day at home yesterday without getting caught up in all of the "need tos".

@scrap-genie what is the subject of your article? I really hope that something good happens with it!

@Cherylndesigns it sounds like Christmas will be pretty chill for you. Hope you were able to find a replacement for the base of the Christmas tree! Love the adventures of your family!

Got to get going...have a great day ladies and I will talk to all of you later.

Well, the snow did not arrive here... although there is snow in several parts of the state. The cold is here, tho... only 21*F this morning. Brrr... All the plans I had for yesterday went by the wayside... Nothing got done. It was one of those days that I would look at one thing, shake my head 'no' and look at another and do the same! Ended up being a PJ day after all. I watched a couple of DVD movies and read a bit.

@LSlycord Your talk about looking for a new car has made me start thinking that maybe I should be looking for one. DH's SUV that I am driving now is 12 years old and is starting to have a few minor things that need fixing. I have been mulling over getting a new car that has some of those safety features that you mentioned. I am not interested in a hybrid as I don't drive that many miles - just around town to do my errands. Guess I need to do some research after the holidays.

Good morning ladies. I was out feeding the birds, playing ice hockey with Remi and have been chatting back and forth with a few photographers. I have decided to sell off all my camera gear. I have been busy trying to figure out pricing and need to take photos of everything. I don't know if this will sell very quickly but that's ok, I will also post in Vancouver area in the spring if I don't sell out here. I have thought about what I like about my gear and I like having a long zoom (obviously) for birding but hate the heaviness of my lens, especially since I do a lot of hiking around for hours. I want a good quality so the P950 has a great reach but the quality isn't quite as good as I would like so....I just happened to look on marketplace and saw a photographer selling off a mirrorless camera in sun peaks, a skiing community about an hour away. We have agreed on a price and if all goes as planned, I will buy his camera and 2 lenses at the end of the month (he has a few photo shoots to do with it first). The pricing is good and this is the only way I could afford buying that expensive a camera. Fingers crossed this works out b/c it will solve all my problems. If this doesn't work I'll still buy mirrorless later but I won't buy one quite so expensive. So, hopefully it all works out. It should b/c we agreed on pricing. But you never know, right? Things happen.

Today I take Taz to the vet for his flush (poor guy, having to suffer with that every 6 wks or so) and then I'll take them to the park for a bit.

@faerywings Listen to Gary, he is right :) Hope you find a good almond cookie recipe.

@LSlycord I sure wish I could have been there with you. I can't believe you forgot your camera LOL.

Remi is upstairs barking so I'd better go see what she is doing. Gotta go. HAGD everyone.

I started looking for photos at Pixabay to do the Day 12 Template challenge......that turned into a rabbit hole that I didn't climb out of for SEVERAL hours, LOL!

Favorite yarns? The ones I cannot afford! #cry I usually just buy the stuff at the big box stores. I've never special ordered anything. For what I usually make, the generic worsted weight is fine. If I am making baby items I try to pick the softer versions, however. The yarns that are generally advertising the free baby pattern on the wrapper. @tanteva may be the better one to answer that question.

Good afternoon!
Oh! What a sleepless in seattle night I had last night! So bad that I was afraid to chance driving Ilene and Carolyn to the widows' meeting today! Fortunately Ilene's daughter was able to take them! Even going back to bed did little good! All I could manage were cat naps! Awake every hour or less! Gonna be one of those days!

Hope YOU have a great day! #dk#sleeping#dk#sleeping#dk#sleeping#dk

Got a late start today but lots to catch up on like the 4-page family history news I send every December to DH's family and wrap/pack/ship gifts to BiL and that cat. Got 3 party LOs done, so just one to catch up on. Things to look forward to include H&S doing an evening sing-along Thursday. I take photos, so get to be a little part of it all.

@faerywings thanks for the good wishes and the things crossed for my entry. @LSlycord It is a family history of a family that settled in KY by 1788. No one seems to have put them all together until I got into it. The beginning couple are my 4th great grandparents on my father's side. The surname is Eckles. My husband reads all the genealogy I write about and really helps, but he really thinks it's boring. #sleeping

Chris, I wish we could each give you a hug as the day goes by to slow down your anxiety and obsessions. You really have got this!! And here's what we got for the evil cat. She may not like it, but I sure do and think you would too. Rats are catching?
rat-4-Alex.jpg

Linda, I totally understand forgetting the camera. Once you decided to hop in the car and go that was it. At least these days you can still get photos on your phone and they can really be pretty good even if not up to your camera's quality. I think we only visited Merritt Island once in the 1970s but I bet it's even better now.

Rae @bcgal00 I nearly fainted reading you want to sell all you camera stuff - until I got to the good part. Having that quality and less weight would be wonderful. Hoping the deal goes through!!

Kay @BrightEyes I bet you needed that relaxed day so good that you didn't push it. Getting a new car and whether hybrid or whatever is challenging these days. Bet your family will have ideas.

Vicky @vickyday so sorry you had so little sleep. Must have been awful to call off driving the ladies. Hope you get rested and sleep better tonight.

Eva @tanteva have you recovered and back to lamenting the lack of daylight? What birds visit your yard this time of year? Wonder how they deal with less light in the day.
