Hello, my O-Fam! It is cold and dark and I am tired, but guess what? It is all good.

OMG- the rat babies are so cute!! It was so nice cuddling with them yesterday- so sweet and soft. Rats need to be socialized with humans and the best way to do that is to handle them for at least 20 minutes at a time. It takes them that long to become acclimated to a stressor which is why it needs to be that amount of time. I had forgotten how squirmy little ones are. Do you remember those little toys that were a fluffy yarn "worm" that you would run through your hands one after the other? That is what they are like.

Caitlyn decided that she was going to keep two of their names, Cordelia and Titania. Keeping with the Shakespeare theme, she decided that Portia was better named as Olivia. Now that they have names, it is much easier to talk to them. :)

We went to get our tree in the afternoon at the place that Scott used to work at. They had gone out of business, but now changed owners and opened up again. While there, Scott was asked to come back to work for them and the manager told Gary and me what a nice guy Scott is. Said he is one of the few people who would ask him how he was doing and meant it. We decorated the tree and as always, nice to see the old ornaments, especially ones of the pets that have passed on.

I have my cookie baking list done and will pick up my groceries this morning after running a couple of errands in town. This afternoon, I am going to start working on some of the projects that have gone done for gifts.
HAGD! xoxo

Kay- I wish that I could somehow cheer you up, but I understand that this is a process... I am sending you hugs and good thoughts with hopes that each day brings slightly less sadness.
Good for you for getting yourself pants and PSE!

Trudy- Did you take any pictures of the outside of the house, bet your Gary did a great job! Yuck that he had to do it in the rain. I still need to do my outside decorations.
I bet that the video for DS is perfect!! He will be so happy to see it.

Rae- how is Bailey, any news on her status at the hospital? I hope that they keep her there. She seems so much more active and happier.
Hil House is soooo good! Shirley, Theo, and Nell were other names in consideration for the ratties.
Hope that your back is feeling better today.

jean- whew! It must be a relief to have that report out of the way. I am still very far behind at the party. I will have rat pics to scrap again soon, so maybe that will get me more in the mood.

Stacey- Do you have a tablet like a Wacom? when my hands hurt a lot, I try to switch to the touchpad for scrolling and the pen for scrapping. I am lazy so the mouse is always to easiest for me but sometimes using the different muscles helps.
I hope that the new cream helps too.
Good luck with Dory!!! You will get to keep her for a week and see how she does?
Gotta butt in and say that you should read the Outlander books. I read the first four (five?) but then listened to them on audiobook. So darn good!

Felis- that is one of the things I get aggravated about this time of year, it is so hard to clean and to walk and the dogs get underfoot. Great news that your shopping is done. I always panic

BRB!!
:sorry:
Cait wanted me to come up and see the babies so I just *had* to drop everything to do that.
So yeah, I do that to-- think I am all done shopping and then freak out at the last minute that I don't have enough or that I only have equal amounts for the kids.

The coupon covered the fee for the shopping-- $13 which is a big help. With the other things I have to run around town for, it will be nice to not spend an hour and a half shopping as well. (and grumbling at to the people who block the aisles with their carts :gaah: )

Better get going as I am still booked up solid today.

Popping early today... woke up at 5AM again!!! But that could be because I fell asleep at 9:30 PM last night. Got my LO for the challenge into the gallery and made some comments on the ones that are there. Some terrific LOs already!! Made me feel better seeing so many posted.

I have my Red Hat Chapter party today. Got a fresh fruit salad made with Clementines, red/green/black grapes, celery, walnuts and dressed with whipped topping. Looks so festive with all those colors peeking out of 'snowy' white topping. I put it in a clear glass bowl so they show off. It has turned cold again with winds suppose to be brisk today [25-35 mph] so the wind chill is going to be around 25!!! Winds tonight will be upwards of 50-60 mph so I need to pull some of the smaller stuff on the patio into the protected corner. Glad the trash and recycle bins are protected by the side of the house. So glad trash pick-up isn't until Thursday as winds should be less then.

Yes, I was so happy to catch the sale on the pants. Didn't make it over to the store to get PSE2019 yet. Hope to do that while I am out today. I want the disk version just in case my computer has to be worked on. Seems like at least once a year, it has to. Sometimes that means re-installing all my programs.

Chris, you have a lot on your plate still. So happy you got the tree. What a compliment that your DH was offered a job if he wants one there. Just goes to show what a great person he is that the owners remembered him. I know C will have so much fun with baby rats and they are now named. Sounds like they can be lots of fun once they get adjusted to the new place.

Rae, hope the back is feeling better today. Take care when you are having to do stuff so that you don't stress it again. << hugs >>

Jean, glad to hear the report is done and that the lawyers didn't come back with changes that need to be made.

Felis, wow... all your shopping is done??? I haven't even started but then neither has DD#1 - who usually has hers all done before Dec 1st.

Stacey, hope the hands are better today. I know how much they bother you. I like Chris' suggestion about a table being easier for you.

Good morning, ladies. Busy day so will get started at my desk work in a minute. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I have a hair appt at lunch time. I've got laundry and chores to do later too. There never seems to be enough hours in the day.

Chris - Bailey is still at the center but no word yet on where they want to send her. We refused to bring her home at this point so they are avoiding us now. Jen explained that it was too dangerous at this point to bring her home as we don't have the resources to provide 24/7 care. She needs more therapy and we need help on how to handle the behavioral issues. The fact that they were hoping to discharge her home baffles me. It doesn't install much hope that they know what to do and have given up. I'm sure something will happen in the next few weeks or just after Xmas but we don't know what yet. How fun to play with the rat babies, starting to socialize them. I would have used the HOHH names for them :) I can't wait to continue watching but we have to wait for Jen to join us so I'll probably have to be patient for another week. I hate that b/c when I start a good show I want to keep going. Not surprised the manager wanted S back, he has such a great work ethic and is obviously very good at his job.

Kay - enjoy the party today and bet they will love your salad. We have terrible weather today too with rain and wind.

Hope everyone has a great day, I'm getting to work now.

Morning ladies... Today we celebrate our Son's 40th birthday! Yikes! I can't believe it has been that long since he was born! I bet he can't either LOL! He has not been able to see the video we put together for him yet as he is at work and will have to wait until later. It ended up being 11mins long so sure hope he enjoys it! I uploaded to you youtube but thought I best keep it private as not sure anyone else wants it to be out there for all to see. Today I am determined to get a page done for one of the 12 Days Event and to spend more time commenting! Seems something always comes up and I get distracted! Yesterday I went to pick up the final calendar from the printer and ended up doing some more shopping for DH's stocking and met up with a friend who wanted to go for a coffee. Well that blew my afternoon as we chatted and then once I got home I needed to clean up after doing some decorating in the morning. So out came the vacuum and then it was time to get dinner going. Final touches to the video for our son and I was pooped out! So I will try again today LOL.

Chris - How nice that you are having such a great time snuggling with the new babies!! Love the names for them! You must be beaming with pride over Scott and the nice things that the manager of the Nursery has said about your young man! Hope that your grocery shopping for your baking items! I really need to do a bit of baking too. DH says that shortbread cookies will be enough, so that is good! I will do a bit of Christmas baking to take to my oldest brother this Sunday. My sister and I will go for a visit, he is alone living in a suite in his son's house. But does not get out much, in his 80's and gets pretty lonely this time of year. Hopefully some baking and company will cheer him up!

Kay - Ughh 5:30 is too early, but guess you got plenty of sleep if you were in bed by 9:30pm. Nice that you are having fun looking at all the great pages here in the gallery! I really need to be more present here too! Your dessert for your Red Hat Party sounds so yummy!! I bet it looks amazing too! Yikes lots of wind for you! We had some winds yesterday, but not as bad today. :rain: however for the rest of the week.

I will pop in later and catch up with everyone, right now I need to get a few things done before I spend the rest of the day here. I really should be going to the pool, but I am being lazy and will start again next week hopefully! Have a great morning everyone!

I finished my gift shopping yesterday (not that much to do) and finally got a swag for the front door. I looked at them a while back but they were outside and all frozen together, but better now. Started a little decorating inside, put up a tree - all of about 8 inches tall. It was given to DH's aunt when she was in assisted living long ago and sometimes I pull it out. I've put tiny ornaments on it. Have the wrapping stuff down to do gifts for BIL and his ornery cat which need to get in the mail. Tomorrow will be the senior center monthly genealogy group, always a nice time.

Chris, love hearing the stories of the baby rats. Good thing C decided on their names. No surprise that they think so well of Scott at the nursery. Your tree must be lots bigger and nicer than ours. :bounce: When you get those groceries your house is going to fill up with great baking smells!

Kay, that fruit salad sounds wonderful and beautiful too. Bet you have a grand time. All that wind doesn't sound good, but you seem to have everything under control. Hope you and DD#1 get into the mood and get the shopping done. Hugs from me as well!

Rae, can't believe the callous way the medical facilities want to treat B. She clearly has done better in the current environment. Wishing for a better plan for her! Not enough hours in the day sure sounds familiar. If you, our super organized heroine, feels that way, what will the rest of us do? :noidea:

Trudy, you must be eager to hear from DS about the video. Probably nice of you to make it private! He will surely love it though. Hope you get to spend some time with the party here at the O.

Stacey, sure hope the hand feels better and good luck with the new PC.

Felis, hope the holiday spirit is visiting you and letting you enjoy the time. Don't fret about my weekly pages! They'll still be there to read any time you get there. I owe last week now, maybe can get that one done. Still so many older weeks missing though. I did get my shopping done and it was nice to be out by myself so I could get things for DH.

Cheers to all.

Hello ladies,
I was on party today and I'm actually very tired now.
Also from the bank called that my card is on minus, its happen when I shop from stores with different currency and I cover it from the next month's amount. But because of the end of the year, they apologised but wanted all to be cleared now. At least I was able to use same makeup for the bank and the party, because this spending of time to go to there wasn't planned at all.
I wasn't able to scrap or chat and can't believe that 12 Days will finish tomorrow. It was funny!

Chris, I'm not surprised that people praise Scott! Bet that your tree looks and smells gorgeous! Take as much as you can hugging and laughing with the babies! Gorgeous names!

Kay, I don't have much presents to shop, and usually do it early. Have fun on your Red Hat Chapter party! The fruit salad sounds lovely, why didn't made LO about it?! (Which reminds me that this year don't have challenge about festive food, hmm?!) I don't put food on Instagram, but often scrap for it. Hope the wind wouldn't make damages to the houses! Stay safe!

Trudy, happy birthday to your son with best wishes! Smart decision to keep the video private. And too familiar story about the distraction. Have a nice time with your brother!

Jean, sound as you are been busy with festive things, much better than regular tasks! As to your note to me, you're always so kind!

Rae, hugs, don't push yourself too much! Hope the new year will bring more clearance and better decisions! I can't believe they can't give you nurse who to care for B at home in familiar and safe environment.

Where is Nancy?!

Good night and sweet dreams, my dears!
