Good morning, O-zies! A very happy Tuesday to you all.

I feel like I slept really well last night. Yesterday, my MIL called around 8 am and said that I sounded chipper. I told her that I had just finished my second very large mug of coffee. Unfortunately, that didn't last as I forgot to eat b-fast and by the time I got back from the vet, I had a wicked headache that lasted the rest of the day. But a good night's sleep and some more coffee have me feeling pretty decent ATM. :whoo:
W and Ray did so well at the vet. Shots and bloodwork and no fighting with them like I have to do with Jaida. Ray pretty much stood there, shedding all over the place. Cait was joking that when W was getting her blood drawn, that was the first time ever that her tail wasn't wagging. She is the happiest dog. And she has gained more weight and is 52 lbs! What a difference since we got her. A true rescue success story.
And I love my vet! The one that I saw yesterday is the one who owns the practice and we have been going to since we moved here in 1995. He didn't charge me for the two exams. Saved me soooo much $$ with that. He is the one that I joked with in 1996 when I was pg with Scott that I wish he delivered human babies, I trusted/liked him more than my OB! :pound:

Today, I have to go food shopping and then the vet with Caitlyn and Dill. Fun fun fun. Well, that sarcasm is for the food shopping, the vet and rats aren't an issue at all. Of course!
Sunny and hot again today. We had a good thunderstorm in the afternoon that watered my garden for me.

Have a super day!

Nancy- The impromptu bbq sounds like it was a perfect end of the weekend. And a delicious one as well. What kind of marinade did DS make for the shrimp?
Luther isn't going to enjoy the day today either with more heat and humidity. You beat me with your laundry- I finished up 3 loads.
How did your appt go with the surgeon? I hope that he has a non-surgical solution for you. But you know what needs to be done and that thankfully, you see the huge benefits of it too. But I can't believe that means you might miss another chunk of hockey season!

Kay- it is a great thing that you enjoy scrapping. Do you ever lose your mojo? It sure doesn't seem like you have any droughts in your creativity. It must have been a bit sad at the end of the family party saying goodbye to the group. When do they leave?
Thank you for liking my LO of my nephew. I was pretty happy with how it came out. And I really had a blast looking through my entire stash of Vicki's designs. I have stuff of hers that goes back to Pre-Oscraps days. She would be mortified if I scrapped with them at this point hahaha!!!!
Gary has an insulin pump and continuous monitor linked so it does happen as frequently as it did, but it really stinks for him when he either can't eat when he is hungry and his sugar is high, or he *has* to eat when it is low and he is nauseous. I think that the latter is much worse for him.

Jean- are you going to the H&S at the Senior Center today? Have fun if you are and break a leg (do that say that for musicians?) to your hubby!
You would think I would learn about the term "kids" from my mom who treats me like I am a teenager some days

Felis- welcome back to being "plugged" in again! I saw your LO and your journaling cracked me up.
Breakfast for dinner is the BEST. Yum. We have that several times a month. I am feeling the shorter days too and I don't like it.
The yard project doesn't look like much of anything. Just piling up rocks and dirt.
The eggplant pasta is really good-- you saute onion and eggplant cubes in olive oil for 10 minutes, then add garlic and red pepper flakes. Let the garlic soften a bit, add 2 cups marinara sauce and a plum tomato chopped up. Simmer 10 minutes, toss with 1 lb pasta, then add cubed mozzarella and fresh basil. Top it with toasted panko breadcrumbs.
The Lyme article is long and detailed and I don't know how easily it will translate for you. But feel free to ask me anything about.

Yikes, I am running late... xoxo!!

Good morning, gals. Woke up early again...just opened the house up as it is 68 outside! Whoo-whee!!! Love those early morning temps. I think I might even fix some muffins for breakfast. When I opened the house up this AM, saw our neighborhood rabbit in the backyard nibbling on a plum that had dropped off the tree.

Yes, Sunday was bittersweet knowing that the kids would be moving before the end of the month. His job starts on Sept 1st. The great-grands are so excited as they will have a swimming pool in their backyard. Glad they were able to find a rental available and not too far from his work.

Chris, glad all went well with the dogs at the Vets. Sounds like you have a lot going on.

Chris, I usually have been able to keep my creative/scrapping mojo going this year. Last year was harder. Some weeks or months, it is more of a challenge. But I love opening up a new kit/collection and that usually gets the creative juices flowing. Some days I am really surprised at how the pages come together as I just start putting things on the page and it just flows... other days, I know just what I what to do with it. Since I am alone now, I can scrap whenever I feel the mood... which is usually just about every day! LOL...

Also, i have a designer who bounces ideas and questions off me... which is really fun. Makes me really think about goes into designing a kit/collection. My hat is off to all the designers who keep coming up with such diverse kits month after month!

Time to close this out and get some breakfast. Then have a few bills to pay... so will be going to the Post Office and stop by the library, too. Have a great day.

good morning - the visit with the surgeon went well. It is just up to me to decide if I want to do it. I guess I want to do it just so I can walk farther and with no pain. I guess I am going to have to go thru pain for some real gain. Cooked a good dinner - a spicy chicken with onions, snap peas, peanuts and rice - was supposed to be lettuce wraps but too messy so just cut the lettuce up and topped with the chicken mix. Delish! Tonight I will cook again. I will go to swimming wellness. Finished up the last of my Yellowstone trip from 2015. Now I will have to find more to scrap. My girlfriend from our Alaska trip sent me news from Denali - seems they have been having so much rain that there were washouts on the only road in the park and it stranded around 300 people in the park. They were rescued and made it to the entrance around midnight. Now there are fires and the railroad had to suspend some of its trains. So glad we went when we did!

Chris so glad that the vet trip went well. Good luck with the rats today! We got no rain seems it all went south. We should not get any more today but should tomorrow. Hope grocery shopping goes well.

Kay your BBQ sounds delightful. Just sorry that part of the family is leaving but at least AZ is not too far from NM. Have fun scrapping!

Jean good luck with the Indians vs the Mets. It will be hot at the game.

Felis welcome back. I totally agree that watering a lawn that we don't eat is stupid and we don't water ours. We do water our bushes and our trees. Sorry it is still hot. The whole world is too hot!

Have a great day all!

We've got a beautiful sunny morning! I'll be going with DH to the senior center to listen to them and take pictures. The lunch is an annual one they played for the last two years. It is to show appreciation for the volunteers who do delivery of Meals on Wheels locally. (for Felis: MoW is a service that provides a prepared lunch for a small fee to elderly residents. My father had that for a while when he lived alone. It also means someone sees the elderly person daily and knows if they are OK.)

Chris, thanks for the eggplant pasta directions. Sounds like something to try. Sorry you had a headache, but you need to eat if that was the problem. Funny story about the vet back when. Obviously one of the good guys in many ways. And, see, just think about your mother when things like "the kids" come up. Hope today goes well.

Kay, nice thoughts about the designers! I'm sure that interaction is a good thing for you both. We all admire your creativity. Love hearing about the rabbit and the plum. How nice to have the cool morning.

Felis, I think pancakes for dinner sounds both yummy and fun! Definitely something nice to share. Funny comment about grass not being something you eat, so no need to water. Around here some might agree but others think the lawn had to be perfect and green.

Nancy, hope you made a decision about the knee that will be good for you whatever it is. Guess we cross posted. DH told me about what happened in Denali and it sure was good timing on your part to be there earlier!

Got my bills ready for the mail and headed over to the local {Rio Rancho} Post Office only to discover as I got there that the whole area was cordoned off by the Police. Also had the fire, paramedics, bomb squad and Homeland Security there. Turns out there was a bomb threat to the PO but since the Library is right next door, it was evacuated also. I kept thinking I was so glad that I had not dropped my mail in our boxes here. Who knows when the local PO will be opened again and mail will be processed! So, will drive down a couple of miles to the PO in Albuquerque tomorrow.

Good morning girls!
two of Jean's posts gives me idea what I want to share today. I'm so much tired from all these expectation of the society! The grass have to be in concrete nuance of green, under 2 centimeters is puny, but over 3 centimeters is unkempt. Just breathe folks! This is my yard, my piece of this world and it will be wild and free! I love previous post of Jean when she was told us about her BIL (if I remember correct, or?!) who have wild back yard. Ed Sheeran (the singer) also was show how with his wife are plant wild place for bee at their yard. But NO my parents don't want to use the world experience and they are always worried what our guests or the neighbors will tell. I don't even like most of these neighbors, and our friends have to be friends because of us, not because needs beautiful place to spend their Saturday afternoons. People just don't realize that if you allows other to tell you how have to looks something small, they will start to dictate the whole your world!
The people who dictate how your house to look like, choose how women have to looks like, what to be fashion, and etc. It's a huge world machine for sale and make others low self-esteem and unhappy. And the funniest part is that they just lose their power at the moment when you realize that your world is perfect only when it's in freedom and just STOP care! As a child who turn on the light and the night lamp keeps away all evil spirits and monsters.
I follow on Instagram one model and feminine activist Emily Ratajkowski, who pose without to shave her armpits protesting against the things that mens expect from the 'real woman'. OK this is maybe too much for my taste, as I really hate the natural human smell who came strong with unshaved body. But hey if we say NO to all small things that makes us uncomfortable on daily basis this make the big picture, as on puzzle. And when something looks like laziness it's maybe have something deep behind and it's some kind of protest. :fencing:

Chris, you can imagine my relief but also my jealous to hear about someone who like her vet. Maybe I have finally to left this place! The medicine here is so weak!!! But better to not start about that again :tape2: . Oh, yummy, your eggplant pasta sounds so delicious, and in fact it's different than our, I have to force my sister to try this way! We make it with mayonnaise and feta cheese.

Kay, aww, the rabbit nibbling on a plum is so cute view! I always left one of mine cherry tree unpicked so to have for the birds. Oh, it's bad that will to have to drive long for your post! Hope no victims in accident in your local PO!

Nancy, decision about the surgeon is always a little bit scary, but pain will probably increase, you know better this is your body and your willpower! So sorry to hear about the natural disaster in Denali! Such a beautiful place!Oh, yes we also water the flowers and bushes, because they they are needs for the bugs, and as my mom insist bushes helps to this world to breathe.

Jean, LOL L O L , yes this is something I know very well, actually my mom was working for organisation like that for few years. I'm just lost in the the titles, thank you so much for the explanation! So sweet to support them! I can't wait to see the pics, I'm sure you'll make lovely layout about that!

:hug::kiss:
