I'm baaaa-aaaack! Didja miss me?

I missed you all, but was very very happy to be unplugged for the weekend. My mom offered me to use her laptop at least once a day, but I was very content to ignore life for a bit.

for the most part, it was nice, although really hot and humid to be outside. I have so much catching up to do around the site and as well as office work/appts etc. Today is Jaida's 8 week post-op check up and will be getting x-rays to see how the bone is healing. Hopefully it is all going well.

Gotta go check and see if Cait is awake she us usally down for coffee by now.
Leaving you all with :cof1:

Back again- Cait's phone turned itself off so it was a good thing that I checked in on her.

So the quick highlights of the trip were our hike, where we got to see some cool mushrooms and frogs. Feeding the deer in the yard- Scott and Leah had the mom eating from their hands, and I was able top get some pics of that. Caitlyn brought her new camera on the hike and got some seriously amazing pictures of flowers, mushroom, leaves. She shot a series of photos of a butterfly on some flowers and you can see its fuzzy feed, the feeding tube whatever that is called, same with some bumble bees on the flowers with their fuzzy bodies. She also took a ton of photos of the deer too. i think she took over 500 pics in 2 days. I am so jealous! I need to get my lenses in for estimates/repair.

That is it here, like I said, vet appt and and laundry and more appts. The abx is working this time around, but I still need to get her an appt with an ENT b/c who knows what will happen once she is done with them.

I am going to try to catch up a bit, so these are from Monday:

Rae- heat waves all over the place! Hope that it cools down a bit today so you and Taz can play. So good to hear that your lighter scrap-CT load is working out for you.
Fingers crossed for you as you get back to your eating and exercise plan.

jean- with this weather a picnic with ac is the only way to go. What a nice way to get to know other ancestry buffs around.

good morning - sorry for the absences but OMgosh Chris while these are not at all of your magnitude I do have some walking wounded. Luther has food allergies so he is in a cone to keep him from chewing while we get his immune system calmed down and some of the raw spots healed. So he is on antibiotics, antihistamines, spray antibiotics, probiotics and Omega3 and a special shampoo twice a week. Well it is all easy with the exception of the shampoo but I have found a place that you can take your dog and wash him and they are these huge tubes that are walk in for pet and person. But the best it they will do it for you so I will be going there. They will wash with your shampoo so I am so happy. Now for the next wounded. My DH fell hard on his side and head when Luther went for a rabbit. He has been in pain all weekend so yesterday he went to the doctors and got a chest extra and sure enough he has a broken 6th rib on the right had side. So he will be in some pain for a few weeks and thus no walking Luther. Poor boys. So yesterday my son took Luther for an early walk but forgot to set his alarm for this morning. LOL. But Luther and I got in a good 45 min walk and with the humidity so bad that was enough. Today is grocery shopping. What a few days! And I have not gotten any scrapping done and it is the pits. Hopefully today I can get some pages done.

Chris welcome home. Sounds like a great vacation. Unplugging is good. So glad to hear Cait's meds are working. Sure hope everything is great with Jaida check up!

Rae the heat and humidity is here is stifling. It should be getting cooler as the week goes by. Glad that your scrapping is less is working out better! I am sure you will be back eating and exercising!

Jean eating inside is the best!

Have a great day all!

Cooler here but gray and humid, probably will rain at some point, but losing the heat is great! In a bit we're going to a luncheon and preview of the new wildlife area at the natural history museum. It should be super. I sent my new article to the editor of our publication so hope to hear what she makes of it. Probably too long! Really want it off my to-do list.

Chris, yes we missed you! Glad you had time away and that it was mostly good. Good vibes for Princess J's checkup.

Nancy, poor guys! Maybe Luther will like getting the shampoos? DH can't be a happy camper though. Have strength!

Happy Tuesday, everyone.

Good morning, ladies! Welcome back Chris.

I will run errands and get chores done today in between working. Beckam (the aussie shepherd I babysit) is coming Thurs morning for a week so I know I won't have as much free time, so it'll be good to stock up on groceries, get laundry done and do a bit of meal planning. Last night my hubs got the part for the broken washing machine and fixed it. Yay...he's so good with home repairs! Last night the coyotes were howling like crazy. There are so many of them living behind our home (about 80 feet away in the green space/bush area) and when they all start yapping it is insanely loud and eerie. Every time they hear a siren it gets them going. I can't believe that nothing is done to deter them from living back there. The school ground is at the edge of their area and I always worry about a young kid getting too close to them and getting attacked. I know they don't often go after people but it could happen. I know this summer a little girl got dragged off her porch by a coyote. People still walk along the path there, right through their den. Not me. I stay away from the green space behind the house. So poor Taz was just about to take his late night pee and heard all the commotion from them so he ran back into the house and refused to go out.

Chris - glad you enjoyed your quiet time away. We missed you. Glad to hear that Cait is responding to the ABX now. Hope Jaida gets a good checkup.

Nancy - sorry to hear of your hubs' cracked rib. I know that is very painful. Poor guy.

Jean - sounds like a fun luncheon!

Off I go, got things to do and need to get at it. Have a great day, everyone.

Morning ladies... started a long post and of course I lost it grrr!! I am having trouble getting back into the swing of things here and so not used to being on the computer anymore. 8 weeks of being pretty much unplugged is a long time and so its difficult to return to it. :becky: Anyway I am hoping to finally get a page or two done today!! I haven't had my EHD plugged in or opened my Photoshop for so long that I hope they are both still working!!
Hubby is happily painting away and of course makes me stop whatever I am doing to get him water, coffee or snack so he can keep going. I like it better when he is at work LOL.

Chris - So glad that you had a good time on your little vacation!! Sounds like some awesome photos were taken and I am looking forward to seeing them! I hope you get all your appts. out of the way and can find some time to do some scrapping too!!

Nancy - Oh dear your poor hubby and your poor Luther!! No wonder your MG was in so much pain!! Ouch!! Hope that the shampoo and all the other things that Luther has to have done will clear up his system soon and he will be back to normal also! I have heard from Heather that the temps and humidity are stinking bad out there, she is about to go crazy putting up with all the humidity! We had really hoped that she would have missed it all while being out here, but of course it never got really bad until she returned home. It figures!!

Jean - Hope that your article is just what the editor ordered! It would suck to have to re=do it! Happy that the humidity is coming to an end for you, hopefully the sun will make an appearance again soon for you!

Rae - A busy day again for you, hope you manage to get all your chores done! That is crazy that there are so many coyotes so close to your area!! I would be staying away from the green space as well. How horrifying that a young child got dragged off the porch by one YIKES!!! But I suppose that the green space is a protected area so maybe not much anyone can do to change it in anyway? :noidea: Poor Taz did he manage to get his evening pee or not? Hope you have a great day!

Ok off I go to get in the shower and get dressed, already had my FaceTime with Mason and Heather, poor Heather is having washing machine troubles again, hopefully she can get it fixed quickly. She seems to do laundry almost everyday with Mason going through all his dirty clothes and wetting the bed accidents every once in a while. Sure missing all of my grands. We are taking a beach day on Thursday as it will be the hottest day of the week it will be nice to just relax and go for a swim to cool off. Hope that you are all having a wonderful day!

Hi again!

I have a couple of more free minutes before I have to go off for the next thing :)

On to the weekend Ooo's!

Rae- that sounds heavenly and peaceful to be up with Taz at your feet and hubs doing a cross word. I finished All the Missing Girls while I was away. It is a story about missing girls, 10 years apart and how they connect. But the twist of it is that it goes back in time- so you start with what happens on Day 15 after the second girl goes missing, and then back to the day day she went missing and little bits and pieces are scattered along. It took a bit of getting used to going in reverse chron. order but overall, I really liked it.

jean- you must be dying in the heat! I hope that it breaks soon. I saw the headline that July 1016 was the hottest on record. Ever. I have said it before, i like warm temps, but not so much that we are cooking the earth- and not so slowly anymore. Sending cool rain vibes to you, even though there aren't all that many to spare in NJ :D

Trudy- my dad has such a hard time when we leave PA with all of the chaos and insanity we bring. Says it is too damn quiet. Then has to go for a hike and pick up kindling etc. Sounds like YMG does the same?

nancy- I did see ahead in this thread that DH has a cracked rib- poor guy. Wet lawn is how my MIL destroyed her ankle- so easy to slip, esp when you are behind a 100lb dog! hope he feels better and Luther too! Hang in there!!!
Gary was only able to get Jaida out for 2 walks the entire time I was gone since this weather makes him miserable. I want to try and get her out today but I am concerned about her paws on the pavement.

Sunday:
Rae- Oh my goodness how sad about the little girl! You know how I feel about my bears but this is heartbreaking to hear. I hope that she end up ok. My god I would be terrified it that happened to my kids. hopefully they can find the cub soon.

trudy- if you haven't washed the windows yet- take a photo of the hand prints. On the rare occasions I get flowers, I take a photo of them so I don't feel sad when I have to toss them out. That would also make a fantastic scrap page when you are able to get back scrapping.
Sing it, T-- I hate that humans go ahead and take away so much of wild animals habitats and resources. Way back when, my favorite t-shirt was of the earth, surrounded by pics of endangered/extinct animals and said They were here First. Chris the :hippie:
How is Heather holding with the heat and humidity? Are they far enough North where they get any cooling off after sundown?

I think I am mostly caught up, so happy to be back here!
