As I said to Gary last night, I had a productive day on Monday. It sure doesn't feel like it but I got two big things accomplished. Expensive and stressful but what's done is done ;)
We booked the firehouse for Caitlyn's party! June 4. My dad seemed to think that a few days before his surgery is not going to be a problem. *shrugs* It isn't what I would have done but it turned out to be the only option. The May 21 date was the same day as her friend's grad party. Can't have a party here without the grad herself. *G* Now I need to think about the planning part. Cait is already designing the invites and I started a Google Doc for us to collaborate on.
The second thing is that I ordered a new phone. I picked out the Google Pixel 5a- more than I wanted to spend but what else is new? I have it saved, just don't like to spend. The camera is supposed to be very good for a mid-range priced phone and that helped the decision. Gary almost had to click the Submit button for me to purchase it.

You'd think I would be content with those things accomplished and I suppose I am to an extent. Well, more than an extent when I think about it. I should be pretty darn pleased. ;)

I have a few things to work on here, it is another cold and rainy day (it snowed apparently overnight-- bleck!)
If anyone has ideas or suggestions or websites to help with party planning, feel free to hook me up!

Hugs!

@bcgal00 I saw the photos on FB - looks like you have another gorgeous area to live and take photos. Did you have any luck getting the monitors to work? Mmm, banana bread. I have bananas in the freezer, today would be a good day to bake. hmmmm :D

@tanteva heh, I love how excited you were about dinner arriving, I can relate. I know what you mean about that empty feeling when a series ends. Hope you find another one to binge soon.

@taxed4ever Your Easter dinner and games sound fantastic!! Your day in the yard also sounds wonderful- how nice for the azaleas to be blooming, mine won't do that for at least another few weeks, usually around Mother's Day.
How is Jonah? Hope he is feeling better and it isn't Covid. It is going around here a *lot* even with people who are vaxed and boosted. I guess whoever hadn't gotten B1 the first time around is now getting B2. :(
I want to hear how the movie is too- what did the kids think of it??

@Cherylndesigns The Bosch theme song is good, I also like the one from Justified :)
I was/am frustrated but I'll figure it all out. I hate the feeling of having too many plates in the air

Wishing everyone a happy day!!

Morning everyone! It is cloudy but there are a few patches of blue sky out there. Fresh snow on the mountain tops again! Ugh!! What ever Mother Nature is smoking I wish she would STOP!! It is a nice quiet house for me today. A good day to catch up on things here and perhaps get out for a walk later on. Yesterday it poured rain all day long! MIL and FIL popped in on their way back home from SIL Sharon's. I made coffee and served them some cheesecake, but we had that in the Den so MIL did not have to do the stairs. They both said that it will probably be the last time they visit overnight at Sharon's. Poor MIL was in awful pain from doing the many stairs at her DD's place. They were at least smart enough to take the little ferry over to Sydney where Sharon and family lives, that way they did not have to deal with all the traffic and go over the Malahat. Traffic is pretty scary on long weekends! MIL brought me the carcass from the Turkey that they had for Easter dinner, she knows how much I love to make bone broth! Yay!!
I need to make a couple of cards over the next few days for upcoming Birthdays and Mother's Day. I will work on a page today too, I feel the need to do some scrapping!!

@faerywings - Chris you did have a very productive day yesterday, even though you feel like you did not. It will be so much fun to plan this party for your lovely daughter and Graduate! If I find any good sites on party planning I will let you know! Haven't heard from Heather yet today, so not sure if Jonah has returned to work or not. He is like most men when they are not feeling great and is a big baby LOL. Heather just rolls her eyes at him, because he thinks he is sicker than anyone else. While she is not allowed to be sick and needs to continue doing everything she usually does  . SIL Linda had her fourth shot of vaccine last weekend and it knocked her down for a couple of days, but then so did the other three shots. We are still waiting to hear when we will be able to get ours, but humming and hawwwing over if we will bother with it. We will see. Still waiting to hear how the movie was too, everyone was pretty busy at Jason's house, so did not get to talk with him or the kids:(. Hope you do have fun with the planning and that you love your new phone! It's great that you already had the money saved for it, but I know its hard to spend that! Get a good cover for it so you don't break the screen!!

@tanteva - You had a pretty good list going of things to do, so glad that you got them all ticked off! Isn't it weird that your cat loves to chew on plastic bags!! LOL.

Well I need to make a list for a few things to get at the grocery store tomorrow after my hike. Trying to not make more trips than necessary as our gas prices continue to soar! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. Today we have the firepit hookup being installed. Hopefully the BBQ and patio furniture come this week. I've been busy unpacking which is so tedious but its slowly getting done. I got the computer hooked up yesterday (finally). I want to wipe out lightroom and reinstall the EHD's, organizing a bit better.

I'll go to to the dog park later this afternoon before dinner. I think we'll have eggs, mushroom and peppers with hashbrowns and toast. I love having breakfast for dinner.

@faerywings Glad you found a place, that must be a relief. Congrats on finding a new phone, I hear it has a good camera.

@taxed4ever Ugh...gas prices. It's a little cheaper here in the interior but still so expensive. It's smart to coordinate errands and conserve travel times. In town here, everything is fairly close, a 5 or 10 minute drive but the exploring is where I'm going to burn the gas b/c a lot of areas I want to see are outside of Kamloops.

I'm going to go get dressed and get on with my day.

Morning, all. Just got a call from Son Jim... he and his wife will be here on Thursday afternoon. Can't wait to finally get to meet Alyn in person and give her a big hug!! They have to be back to Las Vegas on Sunday so it will be a short visit. But the good news is that she will be in the states for a long time so we will get to visit for a longer time next trip they make here.

My new smart TV will be delivered and installed this afternoon. I spend about an hour yesterday afternoon making sticky tabs for all the wires that are connected from the TV to all the electronic devices (2 DVD/VHS players, the BluRay player and the Amp) so I know what Input for each one. They will be moving the TV in the family room into my bedroom. Really easy there as there is only the DVD player and the indoor antenna to hook up there. Guess I will spend some time after the install learning how to use the Samsung Streaming service and adapting to using the new control. :D

Need to run to the grocery store and pick up some groceries for when Jim and Alyn are here. I will do that after the roofing estimator comes tomorrow morning. Big pain as they have closed the road that is direct to the store for the next 2 weeks while they put in a water line. It is less than a mile from the house using it. Have to drive about 3 miles extra to get around blocked road!!!

Good noon - again. I'm just getting on here - Chuck and I have been drinking coffee and chatting and Adrienne will be down soon for her cuppa.

It's supposed to get up to 65 today but 68 tomorrow and then warmer from then. I might feel inclined to go plant my herbs. I have them all sitting in pans so I can water them. They're SO cute! I have one of them in my kitchen windowsill, over my sink and it's SO cute - now I want a succulent to put up there when it goes to the garden. I want one of those string-of-pearls. That's what this herb reminds me of.

I'm glad all y'all were productive yesterday because I was not. LOL I did get caught up on my computer work, however. Everybody was tired yesterday - we ate too much Sunday night and too late and drank a wee bit of wine - Roger drinks Captain. I was in a food coma yesterday.

Chris @faerywings that's SO awesome that you nailed down a place for Cait's party!!! PINTEREST - that's my go-to place. Ava and I have a private board already that we put ideas for her "future wedding" on. You and Cait could use that for anything that pops into your heads. It's a great way to keep track of things.

YES - Justified theme song is amazing, too!! We just finished watching it last week - it was a long series. I'll have to download that one too. Suits is another great theme song - "Greenback Boogie" is the name of it and yes, it's on my playlist. LOL Theme songs make the shows, that's for sure. We just started watching Coyote' with Michael Chiklis. It's pretty good - decent music - hasn't started to grow on me yet, but I've always liked him. He's a newly retired Border Patrol Agent who gets embroiled in the smuggling activities to protect his family.

Well, Adrienne will be here shortly with Lila. The girls get groomed today at 3:00 so Lila will stay here until then. "The wild rumpus" is about to begin.
