CHEERY O
Good morning, lovely people!
I had another 5 a.m. wake-up time this morning. I hope that is a positive thing. I think it has to be because that means I am not just staring at screens all day long or working on puzzles.

I did a little of this and that yesterday and didn't get that much accomplished, but more than I had been. Baby steps, as you have been correctly reminding me. I did a little too much and put the boot on when I was cooking dinner.
I didn't make it outside at all. It was drizzling in the morning and my house stayed so cold that I didn't realize that it had warmed up in the afternoon. I opened the window to listen for a bird - thought I heard a woodpecker- and I wasn't slammed with cold air. At that point, it was almost time to start feeding the dogs and cooking dinner. So my windows were literally and figuratively closed. Boo.

I am heading across the street to have coffee with my friend. I haven't seen her in a long time. She works two jobs and our schedules never seem to match up. Her school is on spring break this week, so we are squeezing in coffee before she has to head out for a dr appt.
When I get home, I am working on a new set of lessons. New in the sense that the two spring sessions are going to be condensed into one. It's a good thing. I fessed up to Gary that I am glad I am not working today, I am not ready. (Who is surprised? No one? LOL!)
Yesterday I selected the 6 weekly themes and today I am rewriting them so they build on each other better. I want to send the revised info to the director so we can start advertising.

I missed the red-bellied woodpecker at the feeder again yesterday. Gary thought he saw a pileated on Sunday, but when I went back to look at the videos, no one of that size showed up. Maybe I will get lucky soon. *fingers crossed*
And good news for my pocketbook- when I was chatting with my friend, she said that she put seed in her feeder and a ton of goldfinches visited. Maybe they will ease up on eating everything out of mine :floorlaugh:
(I will be one of *those* people - I can't afford to buy groceries for the human family but I won't let my birds (or dogs) starve.

On that note, I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Yeah, sounds like me! The bird food is more expensive than the human food, but do I care?.....:hahano: My kids think I'm silly for feeding them all year long! Spoiled? Maybe. Do I care? Again.....:hahano:

Glad your "normal" routine is heading back to normalish!

Good Morning Ladies!
I did it. I sat. And sat. Are ya impressed?? Saturday I went to a luncheon and sat and then came home and sat. Hubs cooked. Yesterday after church I sat. I scrapped, read, watched tv. Just sat with my feet up. Today, is laundry day so I wont be sitting all day but it was nice to sit and chill most of the weekend. The next two weeks will be crazy with life so I took advantage and sat while I could. I read lots of things here but didn't seem to comment outside my head.
I *am* impressed, very much so! I hope you made time to sit in between loads of laundry. Remember to pace yourself as life gets busy the next few weeks. (I am saying that to myself as well)
I loved your scrapbook page, it's so happy! I really enjoyed our children's weddings too.
Thank you! I truly had a wonderful time at Caitlyn's wedding and I'm sure if/when Scott and Sam get married, I will feel the same. No better feeling than knowing your kids are happy ♥
.nothing better than fresh air and sunshine, except maybe ocean breeze
OK, my comment might need to be revised. :lol23:

My goodness, if we put you and Rae in a room together, can you imagine all the activities you would do? We would never see you again. You would have games and food and crafts, just non-stop activity.
Did you have time to scrap any of the otter photos? They must be so freaking cute.
July/August I will be as that is fishing/canning season.
Will you be able to go in the water this year? I remember the photos of you in your waders as the water rushed past.

We were out all morning and into the early afternoon building bridges. The new trail we built this spring needs 3 small ones. Today we dug the holes for the support posts and set them in concrete. It's in a boggy area and the holes filled with water as we dug them. At least it meant we didn't have to carry water from the creek to mix concrete. There will be another workday Wednesday to put the cross beams and the deck on, but I'll be across the continent with the grandkids. I told everyone to take some pictures for me but I don't know if anyone will. It got up to 80° this afternoon! Crazy weather.
Wow! I hope your muscles are still talking to you after that hard work! One more day!! Are you counting the hours yet?

Where in Parsippany did you work? That is technically where I grew up/parents live. We were on the border of Parsiappny and Denville on a road that connects Rt 53 and Rt 46. Taxes, school, and all that are Parsippany but our mailing address is Denville.
My mom is from Kearny and my dad is from S Orange. When they moved to Parsippany in 1964, it was mostly woodland, and my grandparents all thought they were moving to another planet

BRB, J needs to go out.

Good Morning,
I answered some personals yesterday.....I think.....but never did really post my happenings.
I was busy yesterday carrying some of the winter stuff back to the she shed and trying to sift through some of the "stuff" to give to a new home.....like the 1,000 spools of thread I never use. I kept some but I'm giving the rest to a lady at church who is an avid seamstress. Also giving her the spool rack I had some of the thread on. She said hers was full, so she will need mine to take care of the thread I am giving to her! She will inevitably have to throw some of the thread away because it is so old! I hope she realizes the dust bunnies I am sending along with them is free! ;)
The HVAC guy came yesterday. He thinks it is the 60+ year-old motor gone bad. So he is taking it to his motor guy today and will let us know what is happening. After having such a cool weekend our temp reached 80 yesterday! It kinda looks rainy out again today.
I didn't make the church deposit yesterday for waiting on the HVAC guy, so I plan to do that today. I didn't realize he was going to text me before coming or I could've made it yesterday. Not a biggie.
We went to dinner with my daughter and family last night at Texas Roadhouse. My granddaughter turned 14 on Sunday and that was her pick for her birthday meal. Quite frankly I was surprised by that! What teen wants to go to a steak place to eat? Mark hates going there because it is so loud but it actually was not too bad on a Monday night! So we had a pleasant meal! I'm going to scrap the pics for the Quote it Challenge.
Time to get dressed and get ready to leave to make the deposit.
HAGD!

Hi Vicky! Your post cracked me up! LOL!

I got confused for a sec. So Terri and Marily, you *both* live/d in the South Orange area? That is wild! 99% of my dad's family is in S Orange/Maplewood. If you ever met an Iantosca from there, I am related. Also Boston. Lots of distant relatives in Boston and it isn't that common of a surname. (obvs)

@BrightEyes Did the massage chair and heat pad help? I hope you are back to being 100% today! Sometimes, I gasp at the vegan food prices, but it is probably more expensive to buy beef at this point.

@tanteva Their loss. Big time.
@AK_Tracy In your case as well.
We are so glad that you are part of the O-fam ♥♥♥
When in college I was constantly calling school and work to say is it open today? The answer was - Are you kidding?.
Same thing when I worked in Dover and had to commute from West Milford. Meanwhile, *in* W Milford, it could be full-on sunshine at one end and a blizzard up the mountain.

Congrats to your DS, @deej
(Am I allowed to grumble about "why did it take them so long to make it official?" If so, then I am grumbling for him and hoping to give him back pay at the new salary)

Good luck with the furnace motor, Vicky.

@vickyday fingers crossed that is the solution and an inexpensive repair. I sure hope you keep us posted. In the houses we owned in CT we always ended up putting new heating systems in...nothing worse than no heat in the winter. I'm glad it is warm for you now.
I saw your comments about thread, as a retired seamstress most thread should be fine it's just 100% cotton is no good as it ages. I always bought good tread because it's the same amount of work to fix something with good or bad thread but with bad thread when it fails it gives you a bad reputation.

@BrightEyes hope you are better, back pain is so horrible.

@faerywings It's so nice that you answer so many personals...I try but just cannot seem to do it all the time plus I type slow!!! It shows that you care about other people/cyber-friendships.
I will be making an otter page soon maybe I will make 2 I took so many photos. I hope they start coming over for weekly visits but then again they really clean out the pond of fish for the birds. I just hope we can keep a healthy balance in the pond but I know that unwanted alligator is goofing it up.

I put some soil near the pond where it as eroded the edge. 2 more 40lb bags to go then I will need sod. I released 4 more monarchs in the last few days only a few chrysalis left so they will all be gone before we leave for our summer trip. I went to my friends house yesterday and got 2 papayas she is away she doesn't want them to go to waste so I will use them for a Brazilian dessert (Papaya Cream) for the party we are going to on Thursday. We went to music night at the club last night it was nice there are a few new people in the all volunteer band so it changed up the music a little.
This morning I set up an appointment for tomorrow to get a pre-TSA pass it will make traveling easier...planning ahead for flying to CT and then Germany in the fall.
We are going over to check our friends house they are away while they have new tile floors put in so I will take some pics to send to them.
I am going to put the orchid that the racoon knocked off my tree back but in a different spot.
I plan to finish the book I am reading and since today is pretty overcast I will do a few more things in the yard when it is cooler only mid 70's.
I talked to dear DIL yesterday she is such a wonderful person and loves our son so much. Mike is at the McCabin in NY working on it and she will take Reed and the neighbor kid up today. I guess they are painting the interior. I'm really looking forward to seeing this amazing place again we last saw it 2 years ago, 2700 Sq Ft of retirement house with 6 garages.

oops got to stop blabbering we are leaving for a few errands.

I certainly am praying we do NOT have to replace the heating system!
Not many, if any, of the thread is 100% cotton, I don't believe. But I will be sure and let her know it would not hurt my feelings if she ends up having to throw it all away! It is old enough that the outside layer of a lot of them have faded in color! I never did any professional sewing but I don't remember my girls complaining about broken stitches/seams when I made things for their kids...mostly the granddaughters.

Good morning,, all. Went to sleep at 8:30 last night then woke up at 3 AM... and dozed off and on until 4AM. Gave it up and got up. The massager and heated neck pack did help yesterday... but the shoulder and back are still "iffy" this morning. Think part of the shoulder problem was from a newer bra that put too much pressure on that shoulder. Switching over to my Fruit-of-the-loom front hook bras as they don't put much pressure on the shoulders. The back (and feet) are complaining this morning... due to higher humidity (44% now). We may get some rain this afternoon. Don't want to do much but have to go to the post office and mail off the estimated taxes and stop at the library. And... I have to get the meat separated and bagged for the freezer. Other than that... I will be back on the massager in the recliner. The laundry will have to wait another few days.

Sending healing thoughts to all who need them....

Morning.
Not able to say good at the moment. Shipping. Its the cross we bear in AK. I know youre all super smart so forgive my rant.
I am USA. I am a state. I am part of the 50! (Not even the last one). We are Continental! 90% of us have PO Boxes! YES we are USA and NOT a foreign country. :rollingpin1: :rollingpin1: :rollingpin1:
Okay, :soapbox: over

I hate when you search and search how companies (in the USA) ship and they say things like UPS and FedEx and so you fill out the order proper for those companies who dont ship PO Boxes. Yep then the company ships USPS!!!!!!!! And they talk back at me like I am an idiot! HELLO!!! I dont get mail at physical address!!!!!! I followed the rules and you all didn't!:shakingsense:

I *am* impressed, very much so! I hope you made time to sit in between loads of laundry. Remember to pace yourself as life gets busy the next few weeks. (I am saying that to myself as well)
Yeah, dont be too impressed. I did good over the weekend and blew it yesterday!!! Laundry, hang it outside to mostly dry (extra work but worth it), dishes, homemade stroganoff and yeah we need homemade noodles. Ohhhh honey grind me some flour! yeah, all from scratch. But wait, I have frozen limes so lets make lime sherbet!!!! okay, while that sits for a moment, pull in laundry, throw in dryer for ten (dry seams) and hang the next load. Ooohhh noodles ready to roll. When they're drying on the noodle tree now. Oh wait, time to put sherbet in the ice cream machine. Okay now sit oh wait instant pot is done and I can mix up the meat and sauce. Okay now I sit, ooops nope the dryer is done, time to swap out the laundry and make the bed. Oh time to sit nope, kids on way home time to start the noodle water. Yeah, went like that all day. The moment my butt hit the couch, my reminder alarms went off reminding me what was next. Today we get the grands  So it wont be too much sitting around again.
Will you be able to go in the water this year? I remember the photos of you in your waders as the water rushed past.
Its taken me 6 weeks to feel normal and I still have some moments of ..... off. So I have resigned myself to the fact that I wont be able to fish this year. If we go out in the boat I might try but I probably wont. I'm super bummed but next year. I can fish next year. Just means the boys have to do more fishing and they wont be sad about that.
Quite frankly I was surprised by that! What teen wants to go to a steak place to eat?
ME! My kids. Always! When I was a teen my dad told me I had better find a rich husband LOL I had eaten two T-bone steaks for dinner that night. :giggle4: Didn't know I would find a hunter who could provide fresh game for steaks.

Hope youre heating system is an easy fix and not like the car. Seems like you guys keep getting hit by one thing after another.

oops got to stop blabbering we are leaving for a few errands.
:floorlaugh: This cracked me up! I have yet to see you blabbering. I love your updates and seeing all you do. Hope you have some fun today and get that book finished.

Glad youre feeling better and hope the shoulders let up so you can feel even more amazing. At least you finished shopping yesterday and can stay home today and recover. (as Chris always says, IIRC)

Well, time to get moving and get more coffee. Spent all my computer time emailing the company that shipped wrong. The rest oft today has to go better though so its all good. The sun looks like it might show up today. Here's hoping for porch sitting. Have a wonderful day!

Yes, you are correct.....one thing after another! I just keep trusting the Lord to work everything all out.....in His time!
