After two days of rain, the sun is out again. Maybe that will cheer everyone up a bit in my house. Scott didn't have a very good start to his semester. He had one class, Geology, and the prof was not there but left all assignments to be done anyway for the week. he is like me and needs time to get into the swing of things but this kind of threw him for a loop. he is already stressing how he is going to manage school and work and commuting. And he needs to look for a car, sooner than later. He is going to be driving mine for the most part which stinks for me, but what can you do? *shrug and smile*

Anyway, I cannot complain about cars and weather when I see what is happening with Irma, those poor islands and now FL. I talked to my mom last night and my Aunt and cousins are not evacuating. My aunt said that she had lieved through hurricanes many time before and said unless it is a mandatory evac she isn't going anywhere. She is stocked up on food, water, batteries. I can only hope that it won't be too bad.

I am off to the vet this morning to get Ray's papilloma looked at. Then god only knows what.

Hope that you all have a super day!

Nancy- you can tell how humid it by my hair. I have it in a ponytail and even with bobby pins holding the top down it is a frizzy mess LOL
Enjoy the tennis today (if there is any!) and puppy kisses to Luther.

Trudy- Some of the images of the West and the ash and smoke-- how crazy is that?! Is there any rain in the future to knock these fires down and clear the air a bit?
It really is ridiculous how they charge for Rx's. And that there is no reason for it. And, I *really* hate how ins companies get to decide over a Dr's Rx.

Jean- yup, everything is 45 min's away from me- sorry that you had to deal with that too. ;)I saw your LO and it looks amazing!
Cars, meds, food-- blergh! I read yesterday on NPR that food prices are going down? WTH? I don't buy beef but those prices are high and so are the costs of milk and butter and cheese? Pfft.

Rae- We watched AHS last night and I was hyperventilating. Not so muchbecasue of the story lines but the trauma of our election. It brought back the sheer horror and grief of it and all of what has happened here since. Sorry to hear that Bailey is going through the same. It's really unfair that Pharma can do this.

(Man, I am cranky today!)

Morning ladies... still smokey and hazy this morning, but the temps are cooler at least because of it. We are supposed to get some rain today, but with all the smoke it is hard to tell if it is even cloudy or not :becky: Keep your fingers crossed that we do get some moisture today, we sure could use it! Yesterday I got some things done that I wanted to do. I actually finished one layout and will post it this morning. Then I have been working on painting a rock for my sister. Her friend lost her kitty a while back and she wanted to give her a rock with his picture on it for her garden. Made a batch of blackberry jelly for my DH and kids and have another batch to do soon. Lots of berries in the freezer, so there is no hurry to get it done. I watered all the plants and hanging baskets and then made a new kept recipe for dinner. It was really good! Taco pie and I even made my own taco seasoning for it. :hungry: Oh I also made a batch of homemade Keto tomato sauce. My DIL gave me some tomatoes that she purchased at the farm market and they were very ripe, but it made the best batch of tomato sauce ever!! So not too much going on today, hopefully a FaceTime with Heather and the boys. Tomorrow is Mason's first day of Jr. Kindergarten and he is so excited to go! :bliss:

Chris - So sorry that you are a cranky lady today!! We are allowed to have a few of those days, especially when things seem to be going all wrong! I am glad that at least the sun is shining on you again and hopefully it will bring a smile to your face! Get outside and get some fresh air and perhaps have a nice walk, it will do wonders for your mood

Jean - Hope your appt. went well yesterday, yes that is a long way to go for it!

Rae - I bet your diffuser is being well used with all this horrible smokey air!! Have you had any rain yet? I am doubtful that we will get anything significant in the way of moisture. I have decided to put of clothes shopping until payday on Friday LOL, the bank account is looking pretty sad right now. Let me know your recipe when you create your pizza casserole! I have found that pepperoni does not like me however, I get indigestion from it  Hope that your work day is not too hefty today! Nice that you have the income coming in from all that work though!! I am planning to clean out my closet today and pack some clothes away to either give to my sister or keep for charity or consignment. I am still afraid to get rid of all of my clothes I have this fear that one day the weight will come back, even though I know that I will never go back to carbs again. LOL.

Nancy we are probably cross posting , so I will say :hello: and hope your day is wonderful!

Better get my bed made and see what the day brings for me today.

Good morning, ladies. It's a bit cooler today but the air is heavy with smoke and ash. Darrell leaned over the porch railing to look down at the yard and the railing had a film of ash on it. I hope we get rain Fri and Sat to help the fires and clear the air. At lunch time I'll be meeting up with my essential oil Young Living team leader. She has a welcome package for me and a book about the YL oils. Looking forward to it. I think diffusing the oils, especially the lemon, has helped to keep the smoke out of the house. I'm going to try their shampoo/conditioner soon too. So far, I am loving their EO face toner. My skin is so soft now.

Chris - I hope your relatives stay safe. I'm going to wait til Fri night to watch AHS, looking forward to it. We're staying home this wkend as its going to rain and we have a party to go to on Sunday, so I'll enjoy taking advantage of watching some PVR stuff.

Trudy - sounds like a busy day yesterday. Too bad about the pepperoni bothering you, I made hamburger with noodles for Darrell last night and added to my serving of beef, pepperoni slices, spaghetti sauce, cheddar and mozza with green pepper and onion diced. I melted it all overtop of the beef. Yum. I know what you mean about worrying about giving away all your clothes in case you need them later but I keep telling myself that I am not giving up a low carb lifestyle and will not need those larger clothes again. I better not....b/c it is just too expensive to go thru this, even with all the deals and sales I found, it still has cost a fortune to replace everything. But....again I had good karma yesterday. I brought in two bags to VV so popped in to see if there was anything I wanted and I came out with 2 bags full, all bought with my 30% discount and I earned another 30%. LOL...the deals just keep coming :) I'm pretty excited about the fall/winter wardrobe I've acquired.

Nancy, Jean and everyone else....hope today is a good one for you.

I'm getting to work now for a few hours before heading out for lunch. Be back later.

good day - really late today. I had a good walk with Luther and he met his friend Loki and that was fun for him. Then had a long talk with my sister. That was fun too as we make each other laugh. She is hot and I am cold. Then just as I hung up my recliner arrived. Took 10 min to get it set up and I love it. Because it is a power recliner it also has a USB port so I can charge my electronics. LOL how fun is that! I am happy now my recliner is there near my printer so I am ready to go. I am a happy person today. The sun is out so that makes it all even better. And my young hockey prospects are playing in a prospects tournament in Buffalo so hockey is back. That makes me even happier.

Chris I am sorry you are in a cranky mood. Hope the sunshine gives you warmth. I think all new school years always make both the teachers and the students stress. I know my husband still stresses. It is hard to juggle everything but he can and will do it! Hope Ray is OK.

Trudy I hope you get rain. These fires are just the pits. Glad you got so much done.

Rae hope you get rain too. I don't know watch AHS too scary I like happy shows LOL. I did see Seth MacFarlan new show Orville and it looks so good and funny and he said kids could watch it so that is good.

Jean hope your appt went well.

Have a good day all!

Had a Dr. appt this afternoon but they called at 8:18 this morning to say it was cancelled as the doctor wasn't there today. Is she sick, family problem, what? It was a phone message so I have to call to reschedule. Bummer. Guess I'm cranky now too.

Chris, hope things improve today and lift your mood.

Trudy and Rae, wish just a tiny bit of the precipitation out there could come your way. Hoping so!

Nancy, hockey already? Good for you. How nice the US Open has four US women in the semifinals.

Have a good one, everyone!
