Oh wow, the photos and videos I have seen online from FL yesterday were wild and not in a good/fun/kooky wild way. I have been worrying about FL fam and friends a lot. Linda, Cheryl - how are you and your families doing?
I texted my friend to see how Dani was doing, I know she was nervous about her being on her own for her first bad hurricane. Thank goodness, Dani is staying on-site at Disney, so not only is she in what has to be the safest place to be, (food/power/comfy beds LOL) she is also getting paid to work. Win-win for both of them.

Caitlyn made it through the day pretty well. She brought a cooler with ice packs to keep on her face when she could. Her lip was not as swollen when she got home but she still had some hives on her hands and shoulder and legs. Now she has to hope they pop up while she is actually at the derm today.
BFF texted me pics of my nephew all dressed for his first day of work on Capitol Hill- I was so impressed!
Other than that, I have been in kind of a funk, not in a bad mood-- just blah. We are decorating for Halloween today so maybe that will give me a kick in the butt that I need.

Sending many good thoughts to you all! Hugs!

@felis!!!!!! Hi sweetie!! Thank you for popping in. I am so darn delighted for you! You deserve all of the happiness in your life right now. We would never forget you!
That makes me happy that you are loving your crochet work and the community so much. Promise you won't forget *us* OK? :D
I would love to see some of what you are making. If you ever want to share some pics of your amigurumi, please post them here.
xoxo ♥

@LSlycord How are you all doing??? On the last tracker map I saw, Gainesville looked like it was out of the cone, did it stay that way? You must be relieved to have Syd and Jianna with you. Where is Jianna's family from, is she the one from Jamaica? The DR?
Awwww that is so sweet how Andie had to be snuggled up to Syd. Hope this means she is eating better too.

@BrightEyes how are you feeling today, hope that the pain meds are keeping the pain and fever under control.
You are reminding me that I need to time my booster shot carefully- I am also due for my mammogram in Oct. Since every shot I have gotten makes my lymph nodes swell up, I don't want to have a problem when I get that done. Blergh, I hate thinking about mammos too

@Cherylndesigns How is Steph?? Was she staying inland enough? I kept hearing how the inlet area of Fort Myers was just inundated with storm surge water. I have been thinking of her and you practically non-stop. And now I know exactly where Ft Meyer's is and Cape Coral, etc. I know more about FL geography today than I did last week, for sure
I worry all of the time too, so if you ever need a break from worrying, let me know, I can take over for a while;)

@vickyday Yes!! And I look at the photos and think-- what if some day *whomever* is in the photo could come across this-- as if someone I have no idea is connected or if they are connected- is going to happen upon a random, blurry, and dark photo in my attic LOL

@bcgal00 ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) to you today on all fronts
Hang in there, and send my love to Jen today too

Good morning. A quick check-in from me. We have been downgraded to a tropical storm. I'm sitting out on the lanai with a hoodie on...lol. We have some gusts of wind but nothing bad and a slow gentle rain. It will get a bit worse as the day goes on but we should be safe. And I'm hoping that we will keep electricity but we will see about that.

I'm really hoping to get some check-ins from @Cherylndesigns. It looked pretty bad where Steph and Asher live but I'm not sure how far inland they went to stay with a friend!

Florida is going to have some massive cleanup. The destruction was immense.

Quick in and out today. Slept off and on most of yesterday. Apatite is gone so forcing myself to eat something so I can take meds. The temperature broke sometime last night. Still feeling rocky so will be spending most of the day in bed again.

Good morning. I'm here - been watching the news since about 7. Steph's safe!!!! They're in a mess in Ft. Myers, though and clean up is going to take forever. I've heard from her already this am. She's still with friends and they've had no power for almost 3 days now. I'm not sure how they're keeping their cell phones charged - possibly with their cars. That was what they suggested anyway. Trees uprooted everywhere and water is unbelievable. Downtown Ft. Myers is almost under water. They have the Caloosahatchee River down there, too and got a double whammy. Cars are completely underwater. Sanibel's Causeway Bridge got knocked out and they can only get to people by boat. The road are gone and 'm sure Perriwinkle is gone again Hurricane Charlie almost knocked it out but they've gotten it almost back to what it used to be. SO sad. I'm sure Captiva is gone.

Hoping Linda @LSlycord got through it ok. It went inland and did a lot of damage - people went to Orlando to evacuate and they got slammed. I did hear St. Petersburg mentioned, too. They just opened the Sunshine Bridge so that's a good sign. Such a mess everywhere!! But Steph and Asher are safe!!! -

I'll be back in a few. Hugs to all and thanks for thinking about all of our Florida peeps.

Hi Linda - SO good to hear from you!!! Steph and Asher are safe, but they got a direct hit and everything's a mess - so much devastation!! They still don't have power and don't know how long they'll be w/o it. I just saw on TV that they've got like 700,000 people's power restored, but it's going to be another massive job. Steph sent me pics last night and it's really bad!!

Good morning ladies. First off, hugs and prayers to all on the coast. What devastation there is.

I'm in a funky mood today as it would have been B's birthday today. I have been thinking about her a lot this morning and had a few bouts of tears but mostly its a headache and ache in my heart for her. I'm going to keep busy today, puttering around, get some groceries, take the dogs out. I'll make burgers for dinner for the 3 of us and then we'll watch a movie, before I leave for my scan at the hospital tonight. Glad to finally be getting that done and then hopefully in the next week or two the results of the biopsy and the scan will give us answers as to what caused the swollen nodes. No idea what the waiting list will be for surgery but at least I'll be on the list.

I'm going to have a non-keto day today (so is Jen). I know they say that using food for comfort is not a good idea but on days like this, I need the extra comfort. Jen's boss (at the kennel) understood why Jen didn't want to come to work today and learn some grooming, she was so nice that she gave Jen a big platter of pastries to bring home for all of us last night. So I'll have a cinnamon bun soon with another coffee and then head out for a few hours with the dogs.

I'll be back tomorrow for chatting. Today I'll get my CT stuff done but don't feel like hanging out much.

I think today you certainly deserve the comfort food. So glad that you are getting that scan done tonight. Hugs and much love to you and Jen today!

Good afternoon, all!
I can't believe it is almost 1:30 already today!
So glad to hear everyone is safe in the FL area! My sister is in Palm Bay. The way she talked she didn't get much of anything.
Today is very breezy here in NC. We are about 4 hours inland, so don't really expect much except rain. We were going to do a chicken stew and chili supper down at the pits in the woods with our church peeps on Saturday but because of the expected rain we are going to meet at the church fellowship hall instead. If it rains as much as they are saying the woods will be a muddy mess and probably more trees will go south. Poor Mark! He has worked so hard to get the area cleaned up for our guests these past 2 weeks, too!

Not much else going on here. More scanning planned today. I've been organizing the pictures I've scanned and putting them in books. What a pain this whole process has been! But, I'll be glad I did it when it is all said and done! I want to go back through at some point before I turn the books over to my DD#1 and do some blog posts on some of the pictures. Actually, I don't have to wait to do that since I have the pictures scanned. I can do it with those.

Have a good afternoon and be safe! HUGS to all!

Hello ladies... just thought I should pop in and say hello and tell you all how much I miss you!! It has been a pretty hectic month and the next two will be just as crazy!! We have been trying to get things organized so that we can have a huge garage sale at some point. OMG the In-Laws have A LOT of STUFF!!!! We have another day of going to the potential new house for them so the MIL can actually see first hand how big her new sewing room would be. SIL Linda has bought her place and has possession date of November 30th. She has an offer on the table right now for her place that she is in right now and so we should know by tomorrow if they accept her counter offer. I have been going back and forth between her place and the In-Laws almost every day and man the cost of gas is sure not helping out!! Hope that I can be back here again in a couple of months, but I will continue to do the month end behind the scene things. I am working on a few Christmas gifts and trying to get started on my Calendars too, but not having much luck with all of that. I am hoping that you are all well and I will try to catch up on some of the chatter here, but no promises! I am sending all of my love and good thoughts to those of you in the path of Hurricane Ian and hope that you are all safe and sound! Sending loving thoughts and lots of hugs to you also @bcgal00 , these will be the hardest times whenever there is a birthday or other celebrations!! Please know that I think of my O family everyday and hope to return here full time again in the next couple of months. Keep your fingers crossed for me please! #kiss3

Thanks for checking in Trudy! It's just good to hear from you every once in awhile to know that things are going ok!

I can only imagine how exhausting the task is but it will be so good to have it done. Fingers crossed for Linda's counter to be accepted!

Oh Vicky, how disappointing that you won't be able to have the chili supper out in the woods. But I'm glad that all that you are expecting is the rain and not the winds. Enjoy your scanning!

@faerywings I sure hope that Cait's hives showed up during her doctor's appointment and that they can figure out what is going on. Jianna's family is from Trinidad and she is the quietest thing. She doesn't eat much either. But she did tell me that she is getting a lot of studying in---she said that the guest room is great for studying and that she can easily focus up there. So, I guess that is all good!

Think we are going to try to get Andie into a vet tomorrow, assuming that the weather stays good through the night and I expect it to. She is much better with Syd home but she only eats if we put canned chicken in the dog food and really coax her. I'd like to have an answer.

Think all personals are done for the day. Going to go get another layout made...I LOVE the color palette for ColorPlay this month.
