:gloomy: <~ Not me but the weather

It's been a little rainy so far this morning, and we should expect some showers on and off throughout the day. Yes!! Finally!
And luckily for us, it's going to be sunny tomorrow (hot and humid but that's all right!). Part of our presentation is looking for moss and lichens and they need moisture to plump up. Let it rain today and be dry tomorrow. The entire day is outdoors, which would be miserable if it rained the whole time.
I have a virtual meeting this afternoon to go over everything for our session, so exciting!

So, how was my non-cranky pants day yesterday?
Not bad! Other than cleaning for my friend, I don't think I accomplished anything earth-shattering. I painted my toes so they are sort of beach ready LOL
I pulled out a few things to pack and realized that I really haven't bought any new clothes in two years. My mom and I usually go to one nice-ish restaurant for dinner and I don't think I have anything all that appropriate. My closet is full of nothing but T-shirts and jeans or leggings. Too late now to do anything about it.
Maybe I'll raid Caitlyn's closet this weekend...

I am excited that Scott is coming for dinner. I plan to make a pumpkin and sage risotto as long as the grocery order has the baking pumpkin I need. They were out of stock, then I got one but I'll need two so I can double the recipe to feed the five of us.

Sending everyone a giant hug!
:hug4:

Wash those cranky pants and throw em in the dryer on high heat so they shrink!!!
Or I can eat extra doughnuts, same effect but yummier :chocolate:

How are you feeling today, not too stiff and sore? It sounds like cooking and food are your love languages. I wish we lived closer so you could shower that love on me LOL!
Good luck on the Costco run today. One positive thing is that at least you won't be on your feet all day. OTOH--Good luck to your butt. :giggle4:
Yeah, weather is all over the place here, too. One day we are not worried about the weather for the church gathering in the woods this weekend.....next day it looks to be a problem! :praying2: prayers for good weather for both of us!
Yeah, and now there is a tropical storm potentially forming? It's too early to know what will happen by Monday but I hope that the weather is ok for you over the weekend.
Of course, Mark likes your company. Thefact that you can be a go-fer is just a bonus :D

:waving1 hello to everyone who pops in today! xo

Morning, all. I got smart a couple of days ago and draped a large bath towel over both kitchen sinks to remind us to not use either one.... Not sure if the disposal installer will be here on Friday or Monday. If I don't get a call late this afternoon that it is on for Friday... it will be Monday!!! Washing dishes in the master bathroom is the pits!!! And cooking without being able to rinse hands in the kitchen is for the birds. Yes... the water run into either kitchen sink - leaks out of the disposal down onto the cabinet floor! Wouldn't be so bad if I was here by myself... but I don't want to starve DSon... I do have some frozen pizza and other frozen meals so we will manage for today and Friday. He leaves on Saturday morning. What a time to have the disposal quit!!!!

I may try to get a Color Play LO done either today or tomorrow. DSon sleeps in so I have an hour or so to work on one. Off to see which one I want to work on. HAGD

Good Morning!
Quick drive by posting to say I'm still moving. Slow and feeling like a 90yo. Dinner was a smashing success and that always feels good. Yes Chris, food is my love language. I would rather have a fun dinner full of conversation than gifts. @faerywings If if makes you feel any better, we're getting termination dust.

Termination dust refers to the first snowfall of the season on the mountains in Alaska, particularly the Chugach Mountains. It signifies the end of summer and the approach of winter, prompting residents to prepare for colder weather.

We will see if our mountains have any. I heard a couple interior towns had snow this past week. Half our leaves were blown off yesterday.

Off and running on half a cup of coffee. Have a great day

Good morning ladies. We are back from Waterton and it was a wonderful trip. Thank goodness I brought my p950 with the great zoom, just not the same pixel quality of my other 2 but no camera gives me everything I need. At least I could view the elk and get some photos b/c they were quite a bit off in the distance. Being there with the bugling and rutting was an amazing experience. We spent two nights at dusk watching them for over an hour each night. The little town was fun to wander in and I stocked up on a few coffee mugs. Didn't see any bears but pheasant, pipit (a bird I haven't photographed before), foxes, golden eagle, many hawks and elk. Glad to be home though, I always am after a trip.

Now that we are home, I have a few appts over the next few days and then a busy wkend coming up with rodeo reining to attend in a nearby town and then Sun we will host a game day.

The weather is cooling off quick, early morning and evening are getting chillier by the day. Mid day is still quite nice but they often get snow here in Oct so winter is fast approaching.

@faerywings Yum, the risotto sounds delicious!

@AK_Tracy Never heard of termination dust before, that's interesting. We will probably have a dusting of snow in the next month.

Gotta go post some elk pics on FB before hopping in the shower, so better get going. HAGD everyone.
