Good morning! I slept really late this morning so I'm definitely late this morning. Spent some time with Syd last night working on her LinkedIn. She had set it up last year and didn't do anything with it. Now she has her resume loaded and has her head shot loaded. It was fun to help her and reminded me again how much I am grateful for FaceTime. And today is Cait's birthday, right? Happy birthday to Cait and welcome back @faerywings. I'll be back for personals in a bit.

@vickyday I cannot tell you how sad that I am to hear about Carolyn. Is she able to walk to the bathroom and the dining room table? How broken hearted her family must be. Sent up a prayer for her today. And glad that Mark can get in quickly to get the tests done and find out what is really going on. Prayers there too.

@Cherylndesigns hope the flowers were ok and that you got your mums planted. I got some sweet potatoes and I'm going to try them in the air fryer.

@taxed4ever I hope that the doctor was able to provide some news about your hands and arms. And remind me why your brother goes to Australia for 6 months. That sounds like quite an adventure.

@bcgal00 hope you were able to get a good night's sleep last night. I'm sure that your brain is working overtime right now!

Morning, all. Quick recap... Tuesday I showed Alyn how to make the enchilada sauce. She took some videos while I was making it. Oh... it was so good! She wrote down the steps and ingredients. Jim wants her to try to make it while they are in the Philippines so I bought her a 1 lb package of New Mexico Chili Powder so she has it as other chili powder doesn't give it the right flavor. Jim fixed dinner last night - baked salmon!!! OH MY!!! It was huge.1/2 of 1 side so we all had over a pound each.. It was so good - but I couldn't finish my serving so it went into the freezer.

Yesterday, I did my errands... got the beaded chain to extend the length of the MB ceiling fan chain so I can reach it standing on the floor... and managed to find a new kitchen faucet as mine has developed a water drip/leak. Got the installers set up for Oct 2nd. Jim and Alyn drove around the area while I did my errands They haven't decided where they want to settle after they come back from PI.

Forgot to mention - my primary care doctor wanted me to see a Gastroenterologist doc. She was concerned over my 20 lb weight loss in 1 month this summer. She sent a referral marked urgent as it is taking up to 4-5 months to get an appointment. I called to make the appointment as soon as I got home on Monday. They said a nurse would call for a phone interview then set up the appointment. Got a call on Tuesday afternoon... I see the GI doc next Thursday! Wow!!

I hear the kids stirring so this is a short post. CYL

Morning ladies... Its a beautiful sunny day and the sun is shining on the mountain across the lake. The trees are all turning colour, so it really is a lovely site! My appointment with the Doctor went well, she is sending me for a scan to see what is happening with my arms (my left arm is now getting the tingly feeling also). She is pretty sure its calcium build up in my shoulder that is pressing against the nerves in my arm. However it could also be that I have damaged discs in my neck or upper part of my back. So we won't know until I go for my scan. Hopefully that won't take too long. For now she has prescribed a low dose of Lyrica to help block the nerve and stop the pain. The list of side effects is frightening, so I sure hope that I don't have any!! I took one pill yesterday afternoon and nothing bad happened, so I will take 2 doses today and see how it goes. Lyrica has just been approved to take in Canada, so she had a ton of hand out packages to give me. Hooray no cost! I spent the rest of the day happily crafting away in my craft room and went for a nice long walk in warm sunshine too. I will start working on my calendar today and soon it will be time to get back into the pool and start doing laps again. Sure hope my arms will let me!

@LSlycord - So nice that you were able to help Syd with her resume, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that . Nice that you could sleep in this morning, that's something I haven't done in a while! Wow look at you remembering that its Caitlyn's birthday!! Caitlyn!! Oh and my brother and his wife go to Australia to see their kids and grandkids, they are trying to get permission to permanently move there, but the process is long and drawn out and it could take years. They stay on the Gold Coast with their son for a while and then go to Lennox Head to stay with their daughter for a while. They will be going to Thailand for a vacation while they are there also. Its a lot to ask of your kids to stay with them for too long LOL. I think they will be travelling around to other areas as well. They don't stay put for too long, they sure live the good life, as during our summer they are here on the Island and live right on the Cowichan river and enjoy their dock and swimming for the summer months.

@BrightEyes - Oh my goodness that is a lot of weight that you have lost in a month!! Hope your appointment with the gastro dr. will determine what is going on there!! Sounds like you are having a wonderful time with your company!! How great that you are passing on your secret recipe for the enchilada sauce!! Maybe your son and DIL will move close to you when they are back from the Philippines ?? Enjoy the rest of your time with them!!

Good morning ladies. This afternoon the buyers’ house inspector comes for 3 hours. We will go to the dog park, get groceries, drop off at value village, get the car washed and go for coffee somewhere. The buyers haven’t sold their home yet but the contract will be an open contract after today until Oct 15, meaning we can then show it to other perspective buyers in the meantime and if we get an offer, we have to give the original buyers a 48 hour term to come up with the money. Our realtor may have 1 or 2 families that might like our home. Fingers crossed.

Shingles just won’t completely go away. I have a small lesion on my cheek and today developed two at the opening of my nostril. The symptoms are not as bad, but sure are irritating.

@taxed4ever Hope they get it figured out soon and you feel better.

@BrightEyes Glad they will be investigating your weight loss and hope you will be ok.

@faerywings Welcome home and happy birthday to C!

@LSlycord I bet S was happy for your help. I agree, FB and FaceTime are wonderful substitutes for being there in person.

Carolyn can put some weight on her right leg but not enough to help herself. She is talking about crutches, but I really don't think, in her condition with her back and left leg, that she could use them without falling and possibly causing herself more injury! She lives with one daughter, but she has her own health problems and works full time so is not really much help. Another daughter is living part time with her to help her with bathing, etc. Mostly Carolyn sits in her little recliner in her bedroom. She has full window coverage of the bedroom, so it is nice and bright in there. And she is facing the woods, so she has a nice view. They have a hospital bed moved into the bedroom, along with her own queen sized bed that her daughter is sleeping in just in case Carolyn needs her help through the night. It has been quite taxing on the whole family! I hate it for them all! But I'm glad Carolyn has her girls to help out!
I, too, am glad Mark was able to get a quick appointment! I'm sure it was of the Lord since the next available wasn't until January!

WOW is right! So glad you got the GI appt quickly!
Can you use the New Mexico Chili Powder for regular chili? Is it spicier than regular chili powders? I LOVE chili! And Mark LOVES enchilada sauce! Can you buy your chili powder on line? Can you share your enchilada sauce recipe, please?!

Hope you can get in for the scan quickly! I'm glad the temporary medicine did not make you sick! My doctor wanted to prescribe Linzess for my IBS but the side effects worry me, too! I have not been back since we last talked, however, so I'm still not on anything.

Good Afternoon!
@faerywings hope you had a good trip with your mom! And Happy Birthday to Caitlyn!

Haven't done much yet today other than the usual bed-making, putting dishes away, cleaning out my email. Mark and I went to lunch. I've been working on trying to get signed into my account online for my car insurance so I can get the new documents for the next year. Frustrating!!! At least I was able to get the insurance paid !

I worked on my sample page for the Collab challenge I am hosting next month. Still got to add it to the thread.

I'm going to listen to an audiobook while beginning the re-do of the next baby blanket.

Left overs for supper tonight!

Other than that, I need to do some commenting in the gallery today, but I'll probably do that while we watch TV tonight.
