It is my baby's birthday today! On one hand, it seems really odd that she is 19. But at the same time, it feels like she has been 19 forever. Yesterday was the 19th anniversary of my Day of Regret when I decided that I had changed my mind, that I didn't want another baby. Today is the 19th anniversary of ouch. :pound:
Caitlyn makes me very proud, she is pretty darn awesome if you ask me, and I am 110% objective on the subject.

On a good note from yesterday, I am almost finished with my ILs gift. I struggled with the candle part of it. I wanted to put some river rocks on the bottom for a rustic look but even though they were packed in tight, the wax still covered them opaquely and they just looked weird. So I had to scrape out all of the rocks and start over. The centerpiece looks really nice. All it needs is some floral moss to cover the foam block and stems. I might have some in the attic *fingers crossed*

TLO was getting around much better by the afternoon. Jaida was actually pretty good with her too. When we were watching, they were sleeping butt to butt on the floor. Now we are trying to come up with a name for her. Whiskey is ok, but not really a perfect fit. We have come up with Zoe, Nala, Daisy, and Leila so far. And Vixen. We dislike the name itself but when her ears flip backward, she looks like Vixen the Reindeer in A Year Without a Santa Claus when the elves put socks on her ears. hehe!!!!

Today I have to clean the entire downstairs and make brownies for Cait's dessert tonight. And wrap the gifts we have for her. And a card.
In other words, I need to get my butt out of this chair!

hugs to all!

Trudy- oh that is so hard to hear about the airline prices for heather and the kids. :(
Are the prices even higher because of the time of year/holidays? I hope that you can figure something out so you can get her to you.
My heart goes out to Cyn and Mexico, as well as the Caribbean and PR. All of PR is without power- the entire island. Yikes.
Whoooooo hooooooooooo!! 3 sizes smaller?? That is fantastic!

Nancy- that is sad to hear about Brain Boyle. Hockey players seem so invincible, aside from play-related injury.

Rae- that reminds me I need to get another pack of dryer balls too when I am at The Christmas Tree Shop tomorrow. They do speed up drying and mine were so old and the plastic cracked.

felis- that is how service people seem to be all over the world. Completely on their own schedules. They are lucky that your dad was able to help.

Jean- that is hot! Glad you have AC! Enjoy your visit!

Still have to be quick as we are packing up to continue on our way. Will arrive in the afternoon and it will be hot again, but maybe cooling off a bit soon.

Happy birthday to Cait!

Have a good one everybody!

Hi good morning - another warm day with high in low 80s. Loving this late summer like weather. Luther and I got out for a nice walk. Yesterday my Devils lost in OT to the Rangers with 3.5 secs left in OT. It was their rookie against my back-up goalie. But my team scored 3 goals and that was awesome! Pavel Zacha looks much more confident this year so I am liking it a lot. And this morning the NHL is have the China games so I got hockey at 7:30 am. How fun hockey and breakfast! Tonight my Devils play Montreal. Again so good to have hockey back. Soon talking to my sister and then off to mammogram and bone density. Glad to have all this done for a year.

Chris Happy birthday to Cait! Amazing how fast the time goes. I still see my son as a high schooler LOL. Have fun with the party tonight. Glad the gift to ILs is almost done and it sounds lovely. I am not that creative!

Trudy, Rae, Jean and felis have a great day.

Morning O-zies!! So glad that I went on the hike yesterday! It was a new one for many of us and it was very pretty! Great views from the top and although it was a 6km hike it sure didn't seem like it. Very nice switchback trails up the mountian so the climb didn't seem to be that bad. There were 23 of us on the hike, quite a large group and three young men from Belgium joined us, they spoke very good English and enjoyed the hike very much! Came home and spent some time talking with Heather, Mason and Hunter. Still trying to find flights that are affordable and have good connections, Heather says she has found some this morning, so I will see what they are like and when they are. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Chris - Happy Birthday to your Baby Girl!! :HapBirth: We all agree that your Caitlyn is pretty darn awesome! Glad to hear that you got your In-Laws gift almost finished! I hope you find some moss in the attic!! Pictures please!! Guess if you are picking out new names for your pup, it must mean that you are even closer to adopting her :becky: Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you so you better get your butt out of that chair LOL.

Jean - Wow that is hot weather for sure! Glad that you have AC! Hope the rest of your trip goes well and that your visit with your husbands brother is a good one!

Nancy - what a great Indian summer you are having! We have sunshine again today, but the temps have really cooled off and the heat pump is running again this morning. I need to put on a sweater too! Sounds like you are enjoying a nice morning with breakfast and Hockey!! How fun! Hope your appts go well today!

Rae - Hope you are feeling better today! Ugh on the wasted money for the WaterPik!! Hope you find a good one to replace it! I sell dryer balls through Norwex, they are made from sheep's wool and I love them!! They are probably a lot more expensive, but they really help to make the clothes softer and really do decrease the drying time! We are probably cross posting so I hope you have a great day!

Felis - Isn't it awful when you have to wait around for people to do any kind of work around the house! Hope that the windows look great!

Ok DD is facetiming me so I will see what she has found for flights.

Good morning, ladies. The cold is still hanging on but I think the EO's are taking the edge off and although I'm dragging my feet a bit, I am able to function, so not the worst virus/cold I've ever had, so that's good. Went thru the chest at the foot of the bed this morning, emptied it out and made another pile for charity but a few of the sweaters can be worn so they went into the closet. I sorted thru jammies and took out the ones that were way too big and just kept some of the slightly large ones. I don't mind if jammies are a bit big. I'm feeling so comfy and warm today. I put on tights, a soft sweater and an infinity scarf.

Last night I curled up in my chair with Taz after dinner and we watched TV all night. Saw the finale for Big Brother and The Sinner and watched the 2nd season premiere of Channel Zero (Syfy channel). I slept like a log. That was one of the best sleeps I've had in ages! Today I need to get my other challenge done and still need to get to the drugstore for the WaterPik b/c I didn't have the energy to go yesterday. Other than that, I'll be hitting the chair again after dinner tonight and just relaxing. Being sick, my energy level is lower so that sounds like a good plan.

Chris - Happy B-Day to Cait! I love Zoe and Nala for names. Glad to hear the dogs are slowly working things out. I smiled, picturing them butt to butt, sleeping. I too want to see pics of the centerpiece. Enjoy the b-day dinner tonight and funny you said "brownies", I've been thinking its time to make some keto friendly brownies soon, they've been on my mind. I've been searching pinterest.

Trudy - what a great hike that must have been. You must be in great shape, what with hiking and swimming so much. That is where I am failing b/c I still have not exercised at all this year other than a bit of walking. I need to get off my butt. Hope Heather found a good deal on flights, fingers crossed.

Nancy - enjoy your day of hockey. Temps in the 80's, that's over for us now. Right now it 65 but will warm up to low 70's later.

Jean and Felis - hope all is well.

Going to work now. Have a great day everyone.
