Woke up at 5AM and couldn't go back to sleep... ugh! Temps dropped into the mid-50's overnight.. so can feel fall is slowing creeping in. We have had rain in the late afternoons and overnight the past 2 nights but no flooding in our area, thank goodness.

Yesterday, I made it over to the Post office and both the local library and Senior Citizen library so have a few new books to read. Also made a stop at the used book/DVD store and came home with 7 new-to-me DVDs. 2 of them are Season 1 and Season 2 of "Once Upon A Time". Will be bingeing on them sometime soon. Needless to say, I crashed when I got home and took a 2 hour nap.

It sure has been quiet here with Chris gone. Sure hope she is enjoying her vacation at the shore.

@Cherylndesigns Hope the cleaner worked on the back patio. Sorry the plants there didn't survive the hot sun. Maybe the cooler temps have made it to you as they were heading east from here.

@bcgal00 Glad to hear you are slowly gaining strength and able to do a bit more. You are wise to pay attention to when it is better and do your chores/outings and when to rest.

@LSlycord Hope you are recovering from your fall. Only a couple more days before you are off on your trip. Enjoy it.

The sun is up and the coffee cup is empty. CYL

Good morning ladies. I'm going to get out soon for a short photo walk at the park. I haven't done that since I got sick so I'm looking forward to it. I ordered a wide angle lens for my nikon and should have it in a week or so. I want to do more landscape photography. I didn't get the more expensive lens, just a mid range, but I think it will suffice for my needs.

Last night we talked about our trip into Vancouver at the end of next month. We'll be going to the Elton John concert and Jen has a dentist appt (braces) so we'll go early for her appt, have a casino night, visit friends and spent 3 nights in town. The dogs will be at the kennel. We were going to stay in Vancouver one night and then drive to WA for a casino night and shopping but we decided to split the trip up and go in the spring.

@BrightEyes I never heard of a senior citizen library, don't think we have them here. The weather turns quickly here at the end of the summer too, last week it was in the 90's and this week it is in the 60's. Snow comes anytime end of September here but generally I think it starts November so hopefully Oct will be pretty to photograph with the fall colors. Looking forward to playing with the new lens soon.

I'm getting dressed and heading out for a short walk with the camera. BFN

Good morning, ladies.

Kay @BrightEyes you've got lots of books to read and DVDs to watch now. That's wonderful that you have outlets to get them and don't have to pay full price. The patio looks a LITTLE better - still have work to do. This has been such a brutally hot summer that I got way behind on my cleaning, but if I can get the front porch looking good, I'll get the patio back to par, too. We have to make some changes for the herbs next year. Now I know what can take the heat just in case it's another hot summer, and what can't. I may have to make some adjustments next spring because my front gardens fared well - it doesn't get that much sun. I may have to make room for lots of pots. LOL

Rae, good to see you back in here and it sounds like you're feeling better. Glad you're feeling up to a photo walk again. We've seen Elton John in concert - he's amazing!

I have lots to do today - blog post, posting layouts here in the gallery - I ran out of steam last night and only got Fiddlette's layouts posted on FB and IG, so I have to get cracking.

Hello to everybody to come and happy Thursday.

Rae, that library is inside one of the Senior Citizen Center and is open to members of that Center. A lot of us donate books to it and it is run on the honor system - you can keep them as long as needed. There is always some books there that I haven't read.

Sounds like a great idea!
