Hi there to all of the O-zies! I make this shout out to all of you who stop by and might think that this is some exclusive club or whatnot. Let me say-- It is not. If it were exclusive, I wouldn't be allowed in with all of my ramblings :pound:

I hope that some of you who read this will say a quick hello, no pressure, no worries, no need to say more than :yo:

What is it about food shopping that makes me so darn cranky? Everything is so expensive. I saved $80 in coupons/sale items but i got no real food! Cereal, coffee, onions and apples- and I spent $147! Oh well. I don't have to go food shopping until next week so I won't worry about it until then. This whole "not working BS" is getting to me. I want to start with a second house, but Gary is still saying i am going to fast. And I don't know what the right thing is because every day my body feels differently.

I tried working with Princess Jaida again yesterday- still nothing. I even tried using a toy outside, seeing if she would go for that. Nope! The only commands that she will consistently obey are Sit and Stay. Walking her is easier with the head halter, and I walked her back and forth on the street for a while. I am supposed to walk with her loose leash in one direction until she pulls then guide her in the opposite direction. Anyone watching me must have thought that I totally lost my mind- three steps in one direction, 10 in another, then back for another 8 steps, and so on. Good thing that most of my neighbors already know that I don't have a mind to lose. hahah!!

Today my mom is coming up and we are making a trip to the Christmas Tree Shop. I don't know why I am going, except that I haven't been there in almost a year and I love to poke around there. it will be nice to spend some low key but out of the house time with her. Oh, I do need to get a gift for my SIL whose b-day is next week. Maybe I can find something cute there. My dad's b-day is next month and I should keep my eye open for that too.
Not Christmas *fingers in ears lalalalaal!!!* (must admit that I did get my first stocking stuffer for Cait- they had her favorite colored pens on sale at ShopRite for $3, so I grabbed them but only b/c they were on Back to School Clearance)

Oh man, I am running so late, let me post this and see if I can do quick personals before I get Cait off to the bus.

xoxoxo!!

Claire- is Bonfire Night Guy Fawkes for you? Sorry I can't remember better. Yeah, Halloween is so commercialized here, but we have always done it "home made." Gary spends all year collecting "stuff" and ripping it apart to build his display. My stuff for inside mostly comes from the dollar store or are re-purposed things. I need more spray paint though :)
I hope that the rain stopped quickly and you didn't flood any farther up.
How terrifying that must have been early on with Robbie. :( I wish there was a way for it to be easier to live in the moment than through illness like you have had to deal with.
My "motto" is from Rent-- No day but today... but I find it hard many days to live it, even if I can sing it.

Darn, I am out of time. Be back later !!

good morning! The sun is shining and the temperature is mild. Today I am going for my yearly eye exam. I think I will get new frames. I have had these for 2 years and I want something new. Then tonight I am going out with the girls for dinner. That should be really fun. Yesterday I was out on my walk and gone to the local pharmacy to pick up stuff and I had just left when my husband txted to say he needed tylenol. Poor guy has a large bandage on his nose from going the basal cell skin cancer removal. It only took two times for the doctor to remove the cancer cells. It took 7 times for his ear two years ago. The dangers of not wearing sun block. It was good to see hockey back. My team starts Friday. It should be a fun night!

Chris we don't do much for Halloween. We grown kids I have lost the need to decorate. We don't get too many kids at the house but I buy the candy that I like to eat so not too bad to have left overs.

Claire hope your rain has stopped.

Trudy your lap counter looks awesome! so glad it worked so well! That is a lot of swimming! Our weather reporter said that you are going to be getting a lot of rain so take care. have fun at your Thanksgiving dinner!

Have a great day all!

Chris- christmas Tree shop sounds interesting, got a few birthdays to get pressies for before think of christmas although I have started getting one thing each fortnight when my ringtons tea man comes- have my next year diary, my christmas cake mix to be made in nov with Robbie when he is on his rest week, oh and i got some choc cream packets- which have about 50 small chocs in enough for robbie to take to centre to share with other apprentices on his birthday.

yep Bonfire night is Guy Fawkes, when we were young we all had bonfires and fireworks in our back gardens but as we got older, and as parents the move was to have group events and eventually go to organised firework displays.

Trudy that counter looks cool, ours is a 25m length pool, Robbie did about 45 lengths today

Nancy yep rain has stopped the beck is back to its normal size thank goodness

David has just come in from work with several compost bags, we are to dismantle pots and hanging baskets soon and need some to refill them with for planting up with spring bedding.

Morning ladies... :rain: here again today and for the next few days it looks like. I don't think I can remember a Thanksgiving when we did not have rain. Every day the forecast changes for Thanksgiving Day, yesterday they said sun, the day before they said rain, I wonder what it will be for today :becky:

Chris - I would have loved to watch you walking your Jaida LOL I bet it was a funny sight, but hey you gotta do what you gotta do. Hope she behaves better for you at your next class and shows off for you! The trip to the Christmas shop should be fun! I love poking around in those places!! We have a Christmas Shoppe in Chemainus about a 10 min drive away from here. It is so beautiful, but so expensive! They have the most amazing trees all decorated up for Christmas and it sure puts you in the Christmas spirit going there. I need a trip there just to get me in the mood. I haven't even thought of shopping yet, its so hard when we have to ship everything to the kids and grands. I try to do most of my shopping online with free shipping to them. It means they have to wrap the gifts but they don't seem to mind. I just think gift cards are so impersonal, but maybe I'm wrong :noidea:

Nancy - Sounds like a nice day for you today! I would love to see a pic of the new frames that you get! A night out with the girls for dinner is so great! I really should plan one with my girlies! We haven't gotten together for ages. Your poor DH! Hope he doesn't have to go through with that again! Yes sunscreen is so important! Have fun with the gals tonight!

Claire - My ancestors are from England, not a big surprise since most of Vancouver Island is made up of people from the UK. We used to have huge bonfires for Guy Fawkes but that was when I was a very young girl. Somehow it slowly did not happen anymore, guess the tradition got pushed aside, too bad, we used to have so much fun! We dismantled our hanging baskets last weekend, sad to see them gone, but they were so done! Glad to hear the rain has stopped for you and your little brook is now back to its regular flow!

Off to the pool today, then the finishing touches on my sister's growth chart and I will take a picture to show you how it turned out. Hope she likes it!! Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Something must be going right here as I'm actually doing some things before the last minute. It is a lovely day too.

Chris, it's interesting to see you call your contrary puppy Princess Jaida as we sometimes call my BIL's cat the little princess. That's when it isn't the little terror! How did pets catch the entitlement craze? Hope yours starts to cooperate. Would love to see the Christmas store too - or Trudy's for that matter. Wishing you a smooth sailing day.

Nancy, how grand the Devils are starting up. Just wish my baseball team were still playing in the playoffs. We'll all want to see your new frames. Nice how little changes can feel good.

Claire, glad your flooding is gone and you've got plants to work on. Guy Fawkes sounds an interesting time. We don't do anything for Halloween at our house, but enjoy some of the displays neighbors put out.

Trudy, hope rain isn't bad for your Thanksgiving, but as much as you need it, I imagine you can be thankfull to get rain. At least this year the side dishes will be brought by the guests.

Have a good one!
