Well, it was nice while it lasted. ;) The temps have dropped and by a *lot.* We hit 80 yesterday and it is now only 45. I was outside all day wearing a tank top and shorts and I was sweating my butt off. While I was waiting for the stripper to work, I was raking leaves. It was strange. Today feels much more like Fall.

I am all done stripping table and sanding is mostly done. I used the palm sander on the flat surfaces and will have to go over the edges by hand. I am going to have Gary put the top back on the pedestal today and then I have to dig up a tablecloth to put over the bare wood for protection until I get it stained and poly-ed. The weather was supposed to be dry until overnight so when I was getting some raindrops on me, I was irritated but figured it was going to pass by. No sooner did I think that that it started to rain in buckets. I am trying to get wood under the small overhang, then the sander that was still plugged in. Then I realized that my phone was out here. What a mess. Yikes! It rained 1" in 20 minutes. I was still trying to scrape and sand while the rain was splashing around me because I knew if I stopped I would have a very hard time starting again.
But it is coming along and that makes me happy.

I am cleaning my friend's new house today- I haven't been there yet so I am excited for her. Oh, I just thought-- I have one crocheted pumpkin left over- I should give that to her as a housewarming gift.

This afternoon, I have to clean up the paint supplies that I don't need anymore and then I want to scrap a bit. I never did get a chance to do that the other day.

Love to all of you!

Trudy- how was the hike? Were you able to get anything done in the afternoon when you got back home?
I am using a grey stain with a matte poly over it for a shabby look. I am not too worried about the sanding being super smooth since I think some texture/scratches might look cool, I just need to make sure that the old finish is out of the grain. I am not sure what I am going to do with the chairs yet. For the time being, they are going to stay stained with brown. I might use the same chalky paint that is on the pedestal since that can go over the stain. But I don't know how that will hold up being sat on- I used the wax sealer/topcoat for the pedestal. I will have to look more into it eventually.

Jean- oh my goodness-- 90*! That really is hot. I heard that NYC was supposed to break 90. Gary had to put the AC on yesterday.
Oh yay!!!!!!! That makes me so happy that you made some pumpkins too!! Can you share a pic, please?

Nancy- I am not surprised that you hit 90 yesterday either. It sure is cold right now.
I know that you will be busy getting ready for the surgery, will you be able to make it to any games before? I hope so! Your friend's trip sounds fun!
I just heard an interview with Ta-Nahesi Coates about the book, it sounds sad and hopeful, I hope that you can get back into it.

Felis- ugh, sorry to hear that you had a "Chris Day" of boring lists to do boring stuff LOL
My hands are stiff but the weirdest part is that my fingers are black. hehe!! I got a blister on my thumb the day before, so I put on work gloves yesterday. Cotton with little black rubber dots for gripping. The chemicals melted the rubber and now I can't get the black stuff off of my skin hahaha!!!
Caitlyn turned 21 last month. Time goes by so fast.

And I am off and running (hobbling more likely- my back is stiff as well as my hands :pound: )

I've got my mixed media class this afternoon, so need to be getting ready soon. It has cooled off here and that may be it for heat this year as it really is October now. Hard to believe. Here is a shot of the pumpkins. I did not crochet the doily, that is my DH's aunt.

Chris, that sounds like an awful lot of work on a table you redid not too long ago (I think). Hope this time you like the result and can leave it be. For sure hope you took the pumpkin to your friend's new home. Seems like most of us want to scrap more than we're actually getting done. Good luck on that.

Felis, I think days with list of just regular stuff is what days mostly are. How would we get anything done otherwise? Not fun to write about usually though. Glad you learned of Joanne's challenge!

Nancy, sounds so fun for you with hockey back. Nice to have a GP who seems to understand.

Trudy, how was the hike? Wishing it was beautiful.

Kay, must be a lot cooler for you now. Hope you're feeling better.

HAGD all.

good morning - well almost lunch lol. I had to stay up to watch the Knights/Sharks which did not start until 10:45pm. I did not get up until almost 8am. Made a yummy dinner last night but tonight I am going out with the girls from my Alaska trip. Going to a really yummy Italian restaurant.

Chris I know I thought rain was just today not last night. It is cold! And I am not ready! Glad your table is now much more to your liking.

Jean have fun at your class. Love your pumpkins! They are so cute. I have always regretted that I did not get my grandmother to teach me how to create doilies. Hers were so gorgeous. My sister has them.

Trudy hope the hike was great! Saw the photo from your lunch spot really pretty!

Felis hope day goes well!

Waving to all! Have a great day.

Good Morning ladies... it is a mixed bag of weather here today! Pouring rain when I got up and now the sun is peaking through the clouds, but lots of dark clouds on the way. Had a face time chat with Heather and Hunter (they both still have colds) . It was so warm there yesterday for them and now this morning it was only 4 degrees celcius sheesh what a change in temps!! Yesterday's hike was wonderful, there were 15 of us and one person came all the way from Victoria for the hike, she said it is her favourite hike to do so she could not resist going. Nice to meet new people, we are a very chatty group, so lots of noise as we climb the mountain LOL.

It was a perfect place to have our lunch break! Today is a stay at home day and get things done day! I will be scrapping today and doing some commenting in the gallery. I really wish that the fruit flies would just go away too so that I can get back to my painting. The darn things seem to love to hang around my wet paint and will ruin my work when they land in the middle of my painting :mmph: I have all the usual apple cider vinegar etc out to attract the little devils but still they are pesky!!

Chris - You have been very busy with your redo of your table, but sounds like you are almost ready to get it finished! Hope you post a pic when you have completed it! I would think that the caulk paint on your chairs would be ok for wear if you used the wax sealer on them. Hopefully you won't have to do it again ever!! Wow what a change in the weather for you too! Darn summer is over! Hope the cleaning goes well at your friends new house!!

Jean - Love your pumpkins !! How fun to create these!! Enjoy your mixed media class today! I bet you have a great time doing your art work, such a talented lady!

Felis - Hope you are able to get your scrapping done, Joanne's challenge looks great so I will have to try that one too! Enjoy your new goodies!

Nancy - Sounds like you are all good to go for your surgery! You got your hair and legs done and are all set up for the recovery! Have fun at your girls night out! :hungry: yummy Italian food is something that I really miss having now that I am Keto! Have a great day!

Alright I am ready to finally get dressed and get the morning chores done, then I need to decide what to make for dinner tonight, my fridge and cupboards are looking pretty bare, so darn it I might need to make a run to the grocery store today :mmph: Have a wonderful day everyone!
