Happy Thursday (Friday to some of you lucky people)!
I had some good moments yesterday, then some aggravating ones. One of the good was going to get my blood drawn and there was a therapy dog there and I had to spend time on the floor with her getting puppy kisses. (Sorry Trudy and Nancy LOL). She was a Pit that had been a bait dog and the poor girl had so many scars of her face, it broke my heart. But she was was a sweetheart!!! I didn't want to leave her and she put me in a much better, more relaxed mood when I got to the grocery store. Another good point was that my friends came to me for coffee and I loved being able to catch up with them.
One of the bad points was that there was *another* bomb scare at the HS. This in #4 or 5 (lost count, how messed up is that????) between June, Sept, and Oct. There were 2 in June, 2 in Sept/Oct... and then this one. So 5. And boy-- the Superintendent and HS Principal are pissed. We get automated phone calls from the district for announcements, etc and when we got one last night re: this, I have never heard the principal sound so angry. He is a laid back guy and even in previous threats sounded stern but calm, but this time you could hear how angry he was.
I was worried about what period this happened b/c Cait's preschool is 3-4th periods and the 3 and 4 yo's would have been so freaked out. It was 10 minutes after the kids were picked up by the parents. But if I were one of those parents and heard about this again and again, I don't know if I would want my child to be part of the preschool.
I also worry about everyone being so desensitized. It reminds me back after 9-11 and we had the color code alerts- after a few times of being raised to Orange, people gave up caring. I cannot wait for Cait to graduate and be away from the idiots who think this is funny.
Today I am working! Cleaning for my neighbor so I will have a bit of cash for next week's groceries. Not a lot- but even a bit helps.
Hope that all of you have a wonderful and stress free day!
