Happy Thursday (Friday to some of you lucky people)!

I had some good moments yesterday, then some aggravating ones. One of the good was going to get my blood drawn and there was a therapy dog there and I had to spend time on the floor with her getting puppy kisses. (Sorry Trudy and Nancy LOL). She was a Pit that had been a bait dog and the poor girl had so many scars of her face, it broke my heart. But she was was a sweetheart!!! I didn't want to leave her and she put me in a much better, more relaxed mood when I got to the grocery store. Another good point was that my friends came to me for coffee and I loved being able to catch up with them.

One of the bad points was that there was *another* bomb scare at the HS. This in #4 or 5 (lost count, how messed up is that????) between June, Sept, and Oct. There were 2 in June, 2 in Sept/Oct... and then this one. So 5. And boy-- the Superintendent and HS Principal are pissed. We get automated phone calls from the district for announcements, etc and when we got one last night re: this, I have never heard the principal sound so angry. He is a laid back guy and even in previous threats sounded stern but calm, but this time you could hear how angry he was.
I was worried about what period this happened b/c Cait's preschool is 3-4th periods and the 3 and 4 yo's would have been so freaked out. It was 10 minutes after the kids were picked up by the parents. But if I were one of those parents and heard about this again and again, I don't know if I would want my child to be part of the preschool.
I also worry about everyone being so desensitized. It reminds me back after 9-11 and we had the color code alerts- after a few times of being raised to Orange, people gave up caring. I cannot wait for Cait to graduate and be away from the idiots who think this is funny.

Today I am working! Cleaning for my neighbor so I will have a bit of cash for next week's groceries. Not a lot- but even a bit helps. :)

Hope that all of you have a wonderful and stress free day!

Nancy- bummer about the Devils and the Mets not playing so great, but how cool to get a signed puck! I was in the attic yesterday and my BFF and I have a memory box, and I had to look through everything and I saw my Rangers' yearbooks and signed photos of Mark Pavelich and James Patrick and pics from when we met them at a fashion show in NYC.
So sad about Rex looking for his mama! She will be coming up this weekend, I guess?

Darn it! I have to head out to the bus now, but will be back when I get home.

good morning! Yesterday was one of those rainy dreary days that I really don't like at all. But I was a great dog sitter and Rex and I went for an early walk before the real rain hit. We made it about a mile before it was sprinkling and we both wanted to go home. Found out that while he does not get scared in storms he does not like to go in the rain. Luckily there were breaks and he went out then. Too funny. So I am sitting watching TV and all of a sudden my power went out. I called the police first to see if there were other reports and none. So called the power company and they said by 6:30 pm. Of course my phone battery was low but I have a external power supply and that got it to 70 percent. Then my son reminded me of my portable car charger and that got my phone to 100. But the worst was that twice the light came on for about 15 min each time before they went off again. The I heard the transformer blow so I knew it would be a while. Luckily it was not a cold day just a dark day. Finally lights were on at 7 pm and have stayed on. Whew! But at least I knew to call the power company and the power company now has a map that shows outages and give details as to problem and expected time of restoration. But it was not how I wanted to spend the day waiting for power to come on. So had pizza for dinner!
Tonight is a Devils game but it is away so just have to watch on TV.

Chris glad you had a dog at the blood withdrawal site. So glad you enjoy doggie kisses. Cant believe there was another bomb threat! I hope they find the kids doing this. I find it hard to believe that they can keep this a secret! They will want to brag! Yes Ashley had work this week so we still have Rex but she will come and get him this weekend. I know he will be one happy dog.

Trudy I hope your rain does not come my way. Have fun with the calendars! They are a lot of work but so worthwhile. Glad the swimming went so well!

Claire waving Hi

ack! 9am and already exhausted! Uh oh!

*gathering my thoughts*

Ok! Trudy- you are up!!!
We got a lot of rain last night too, and all of those wet leaves are on the roads. Not sure if it had anything to do with it. but a friend of Cait's spun out driving to work and banged out her car pretty good.
31 laps on that little amount of sleep is really amazing. Good job getting more work done on the calendars :high5:
I am with you on cards- I have been sending e-cards the past few years, stamps are just not in the budget. Some people get a little insulted, like I can't be bothered to do "real" cards but talk about me behind my back- Whatever! *eye roll*
So sorry to hear that chocolate gives you heartburn :(

jean- i left you a note on your blog-- that artwork is stunning, so freeform but love that you include words too, just fab!
Scott loves dark choc with chili too. he tends to grab granola bars for b-fast on his way to school and Nature's Valley has a chili and dark choc oats one that he loves.

Claire- have fun at the movies!

Morning ladies... foggy here today again but its mild and not pouring rain at the moment. I had another crappy nights sleep  I tossed and turned a lot and it took until almost midnight to finally get to sleep. ( I went to bed at 10:45) I was too hot, then too cold, then too hot etc. all night long. :mmph: but I actually don't feel too bad this morning considering all that waking up during the night. Off to swim later this morning.

Chris - How nice that the puppy kisses made you feel less stressed! I bet the dog really enjoyed it too!! My sister has her daughters pit bull living with them for a bit, while her DD finishes her courses that she is taking and he is the sweetest dog! He smiles at me when I come to visit and sits beside me the whole time I am there. He scares the heck out of my other sister LOL and she used to have lots of pets over the years. I have always been more of a cat person, but I love all animals!! Just not a fan of getting slobber all over me :becky:
I can't believe there was another bomb scare!! Really in what world is something like this considered funny to anyone?? I don't blame the principal for losing it!! I would be raving mad!!! Hope they catch the little buggers that are doing this and throw the book at them!! Hope your cleaning goes well, it will be nice to have a little extra in your pocket! Too bad that others get insulted that you don't do cards for Christmas, if the dam postal service didn't charge so much I am sure all of us would send them!! But enough is enough I will not take out a loan to mail a bunch of Christmas Cards!! Ok I will stop ranting now :tape:

Nancy - Sorry you did not have a very good day yesterday, its no fun when the power goes out unless you have lots of other things that you can do without the power! Good thing the temps aren't really cold now either or you might have had to really bundle up! Hopefully the power stays on for your game on the T.V. tonight! Hope you and Rex get out for a nice long walk today without the rain! I will tell the rain gods to try to keep the wet weather away from you today :becky:

Jean - Ohh so love your artwork!! I am still trying to work up the courage to paint something on a canvas I admire your artistic flair!! Hope your DH didn't keep you too busy yesterday, but that you enjoyed the day together!

Claire - DH and I are anxiously awaiting the Bond movie here, we have free tickets to the iMax theatre to see it, we both love James Bond!! and the popcorn too :becky:

Ok I still haven't had my first cup of coffee (trying to not drink too much on my swim days) That way I can stay in the pool longer without my bladder bothering me LOL. So off to the kitchen to get a cup and some breakfast. Mason is in play school this morning so hoping to hear later on how that all went. Have a wonderful day today everyone!!

Rain is gone and it's sunny today. Wish I could get out but have a meeting this evening and stuff to do first. Thanks so much for the comments on my artwork. I really appreciate it. Our local artist group faded away last winter and I really miss having the others to interact with and the opportunities to show our work. I haven't done so much this year partly as a result.

Chris, so nice to get de-stressed with the dog. Good thing apparently as you need all of that you can get. The bomb scares have to have everyone on edge, just wish they'd trace the perpetrators. Hope you still have enough energy for cleaning today. And Trudy's right, don't let it bother you if folks can't appreciate digital cards.

Nancy, not sure if you're going to be relieved when Rex goes home, or missing him. I know it'll wear off quickly if you miss him. Yuck with power outages and having it come and go like that. Hope it is all resolved. Good luck with the Devils game.

Trudy, you had such a nice run of good sleep nights, so something must have changed to give you these disrupted nights. Hope the swim helps and hearing about Mason's day.

Hope everyone enjoys these last days of October and daylight savings time.
