Happy Thursday, lOves!
Wow, I did a *lot* yesterday. And I survived. I was really tired at the end of the day, but it wasn't that same bone-crushing exhaustion that I am more used to. I did feel crummy all day but I pushed through. That in itself made me really grateful.

I made Gary and Cait very happy with the food pantry scores. They have these cans of smoked clams that Gary enjoys snacking on- after I go to bed cuz PU! They stink! The woman gave me close to 10 cans since no one else wants them. Go figure. LOL There is a brand of chickpea mac and cheese that Cait likes so I was able to get 3 boxes of that. Plus a HUGE thing of PB for the dogs.
I didn't have any luck at the Thrift store for a metal dog dish which was a bummer. But I will keep looking.Got home, grabbed lunch, and then cleaned for my neighbor.

Dinner took a long time to cook but it was good, even if it ended up being somewhat cold when we sat down to eat. I had timed it perfectly for when Cait got home after dropping the girl that she babysits at her house. Just as it all came out of the oven, she called to ask for a leash. There was a dog (she thought was Ray at first) that was loose at the other end of our street. It had a collar so Gary went down to meet her and they brought the dog back here. Gary kept calling the number on the tags but it was busy over and over. We had to call Animal Control to come take her. She was an old girl, not as gray as my Ray but seemed well fed and was very friendly and sweet. We posted her photo on FB and on the local lost pet page.

I am so sad to think of how her family feels and her too. Harley ran off on me once and was only gone for a couple of hours and I was *devastated.* We had construction at our house and when one of the workers opened the door she took off. I was at a Drs appt with Caitlyn and she must have been looking for me since I finally found her near the kids' bus stop. I always brought her there when I dropped and picked up the kids. I laugh when I think of how it was when we saw each other-- it was that stereotypical slow-motion scene from the movies when two people see each other and run open-armed towards them.

Today, I personally don't have to be anywhere. Gary has an ultrasound of his thyroid this morning. Our Lyme dr said it felt "thick" on one side and I am not sure what that actually means. Putting that in the box with my MRI results...
Cait has to drop her car off at the shop too, the belt is making that screeching noise again.
I am making a list of stuff that I want to do around the house. I was thinking about raking today, but my bursitis isn't feeling so great. I'll have to see how antsy I get. I might need to get out and burn off some nervous energy.

Wishing you all lots of love!

Nancy- your weather was just like ours. So bizarre. Whisky got loose from her leash and started to chase a squirrel. Gary and I were able to grab her and brought her back inside, seconds before the downpour too.
Fig compote? Sounds interesting. I have never had a fig and I always assume that they are like prunes.
I wonder if my cats will ever come back downstairs now that we have Whisky. They are fine with J and R but W gets *very* excited* and we aren't sure if it is in a curious way or a meaner way so we keep them upstairs and the stairs are gated off now.
Hope you figure out how the mice and squirrels get in and can plug that up.

Trudy- I know! The days are getting so much shorter and I don't like it one bit. And soon Daylight Saving Time will end.
Sorry that you didn't get to your hike but if you are going to skip one, at least it wasn't a good one. That must be such a relief for Heather that she is feeling better. How big is Hunter now? Is he starting to roll around yet?
I am feeling a bit better than yesterday, but I still have this darn headache. At least I can take some Aleve and that will help.

Rae- it figures that the monitor wouldn't play nice with PS but at least it is an easy fix.
Wasn't it cool to see all of the old cast members, I miss Herschel! Did the repair people come out to fix the chair or did you have the date wrong? That is totally something that I would do.

Felis- rain can be relaxing and I don't mind watching snow (for about an hour haha!!!) as long as I don't anywhere to go. I hope that you don't experience any flooding. I will clean up the leaves here- one tiny reason that other people will get aggravated it "my" leaves blow onto their property but mostly because it becomes impossible to find the dog poop! We just rake them into the backyard and into the woods and into a compost pile. I love getting the soil from them in the spring.

The meds that I take I only have to take 2 days a week every week - but unfortunately for a long time. It has already been years on this one particular antibiotic. I hate it. I was so anti-meds when I was younger, preferred everything all natural- and look what happened. I am more chemical than biological at this point ;)
No one ever catches the cat peeing. I have used mint -- (and cayenne and vinegar and just about everything) but can try it with lemon. We still have tons of mint in the garden I can clip. Thank you!

Hugs to all of you!

Morning O friends! It is a nice clear day and the colours on the mountain across the way are just stunning! The lake is like glass and as soon as there is enough light I will try to get a good photo. I love this time of year when everything is orange and red and gold! Yesterday I got one page done for my calendar. Then it seemed like I spent the rest of the day on the phone. I had a nice long FaceTime call with Heather and then my sister called and we talked for over an hour. Then I ran downtown to deliver some Norwex to a customer and picked up some green tea for DH. He has a cup every morning in the Tassimo and I can only seem to find the tea at Staples, everywhere else has stopped carrying it. :noidea: Then home to make dinner and I could not believe how the day just kind of flashed by me. I feel like I got zero accomplished except that somewhere in there I did manage to get my floors vacuumed and washed. So I will attempt yet again to try to do some scrapping today, lets see what happens to mess that up! Oh well I will soon be thinking of getting some baking done and meals prepped for when the house is full at Christmas time. Swimming my laps later this morning and that is my only activity today.

Chris - You had a very productive day yesterday! Nice that you were able to power through the pain and discomfort and get so much accomplished! WTG on the pantry scores and yuck on the smoked clams :puke: I hate that smell!! No wonder there were lots of cans to give to you LOL I feel the same way about daylight savings time ending! I wish we would stop the silly practice and never have to change our clocks back/forward. That is sad that the poor old dog is lost and I hope that the owners reunite with it soon! I love your memory of reuniting with Harley! So cute! I do hope that your headache is gone soon and that you continue to feel better today!

Rae - Isn't it maddening when Photoshop does not play nice with certain things! I am afraid to upgrade my Operating System on my Mac for the same reason, it just does not play nice with it and I lose the ability to see my scrapping supplies in the large photo format that I like. You will be happy to have your new speakers too, too bad that your lovely new monitor did not come with built in speakers. Last year it seemed that every Wednesday was a beautiful sunny day for our hikes and now it seems, just the opposite, looks like next Wednesday it is back to rain again :gaah: I want nice sunny weather for my hiking days again! Oh well I can't control the weather.

Felis - Lots of rain for you and I love to listen to it on the roof when I am in bed also! Not good about the flooding though! It seems to go from one extreme to another doesn't it! Hoping your weather is better for you today!

Hope that you all have a wonderful day today, I am off to make my bed and pack my bag for the pool. Not a very exciting day for me today, but thats ok at least the sun is going to shining today!

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday flew by. Got a bit of laundry done, desk work and picked up a deli chicken for dinner when bringing Taz home from daycare. Watched Criminal Minds and then was falling asleep in my chair so dragged my butt into bed a bit early. Taz woke me up at 3 to go out. He loves his treat ball filled with dog food (a different brand than his regular food so its a treat he only gets in his ball). I think a new rule will be to put it away after dinner so he can't eat it later at night. I can't leave it empty on the floor b/c he'll repeatedly drop it at my feet and whip it across the room at me, while glaring at me, sending me ESP signals to go fill the treat ball up LOL. So the new rule will be to pick it up and put it in the cupboard each night after dinner. Hope this helps. He's been waking me up at least 3-5 nights a week lately. I have enough trouble sleeping as it is...ugh.

Today is lots of work as I'm still catching up. The doctor keeps mixing up which days are supposed to come to me and the last few wks has been sending extra on top of the increased schedule. I'm happy for the extra money just before Christmas, it will come in handy but time-wise it doesn't leave me much time for any "me" time right now.

Chris - loved your doggy story. When we had Sandy (our golden), at about age 5, she disappeared over the fence in our backyard at the trailer. It took an hour or so to realize she was gone. We were frantically running up and down the roads and some of the neighbors were out helping. Then my hubs was driving all over the ranch looking. It was a gut wrenching hour of looking before a fellow heard us calling (about 3 roads over) and waved me into his backyard. There was Sandy, sitting beside their patio table, eating table scraps they were feeding her. She was quite at home with them LOL. They had left their gate open and she wandered right in and sat down to join them. I'll never forgot how scared I was, that she had wandered out to the highway and was gone.

Trudy - the next few days I think will be the last of our good fall days b/c with the next bout of rainy days coming, I think the leaves will start getting too soggy and the trees will start looking bare. I am going to head out to the bird sanctuary early Sat morning for some fall foliage and bird photos. Hope you get some good pics of the mountain today, have a good swim and maybe get some scrapping done.

I'm getting more coffee and getting started on my desk work. Have a great day, everyone.

good morning very late morning - my DH is on this late schedule not leaving until after 9 am instead of 7:30 so it puts my walks with Luther later and then my sister called early and we talked for a long time. Fun catching up even if we talk every week. Today I am going to Chilhuly with my DIL and another hockey friend. It will be at night and all will be lit so it should be gorgeous. Not much else going on. I finished season one of Riverdale and it was really good. But of course it has this cliffhanger so now I have to start season 2 which is only 3 episodes in so I can't binge and that is a bummer LOL. The world series is good the games are exciting. They are tied.

Chris so so glad that yesterday was better than you thought. Congrats on pushing through. I bet Gary was so happy to have his snacks witch I would make my DH eat outside. That smell makes me gag! That poor dog I hope he reunites with his owners soon.

Trudy it is so fun to talk to our sisters. I just wish mine lived closer so we could meet and not just talk. So funny I remember when we used to laugh that someday there would be phones where you could see each other and now there is. Though my sister and I still opt to just talk. But for you to be able to see those grandkids is so awesome. And yes just like you and Chris I hate it when we have to fall back and it becomes so dark so early.

Rae glad you figured out the photoshop setting for the new monitor. Photoshop and Lightroom have new enhancements so I guess that means more learning. How fun to talk and spread your good news about keto diet. I am impressed by how well you have done.

Felis the rain and I like each other as long as I don't have to be out in it but now with Luther and wanting to walk him I sometimes have to go out in the rain. I love walking in the snow but the rain is the pits. And yes I think nature is was smarter than we are.

Jean waving hi. Have you decided which team you are cheering for? I am glad that both are doing well. I don't like sweeps unless it is my team LOL.

Have a great day all!

Don't know where yesterday went, but in the end watched the World Series game - how exciting! And finished a first draft of my article and printed it for my DH to review. This evening is a genealogy steering committee meeting but I don't think I have anything to report for it yet. Though chilly, looks lovely outside.

Chris, hope that poor dog gets reunited soon. Too bad that good deed resulted in a delayed dinner. Wow, you were amazing yesterday. I know it can't have been easy, but look what you did on a really low day. Good luck with today.

Trudy, too bad today's weather couldn't have come in time for the Wednesday hike. Hope you got good pictures when it got lighter. I know you're right about how you'll be spending time getting ready for the holidays. When do you get to just relax and do some scrapping?

Rae, hope the new rule on the treat ball gives you a better night's sleep. How is the new monitor now?

Nancy, I still don't have a favorite in the WS, but last night was pulling for the Astros, partly for Verlander and mostly just to tie it up. Once the series is over I'll be watching other sports, but none I really care about until spring training, except this winter will be the Olympics. Hope it's a fun evening.

Felis, hope it was a better day today!

Hello ladies!
It was wonderful day today! My aunt have a name day, but because of beginning of the new work she wasn't in festive mood. So we decided to change the tradition and made her morning party only with the ladies of our family. After that my cousin (her son) take it for a lunch and she will have afternoon meeting with friends. Hope this busy day to help her feels special. Usually she is very positive person, so this period of worries is strange.
The Nature just laughing of us! After the terrible disaster, today was a lovely day. Chill but sunny, so we take a dog walk on your hike route. I was hoping to take a photos, but outside of the town everything is green and brown, so strange, it's more like Spring.

Chris, you are so strong to pass through all that! I can't even imagine what is to be on all these meds. Fate is a bi:censored: so often! Impressive how much you are doing yesterday till you're feeling so trashy at the same time. Did this dog find her family at last?! Another shocking difference between our countries, Animal Control came only for animals that have to be put a sleep because they are very aggressive. :eek2:

Trudy, I'm so agree with you! I also dislike to be dark so early, it's so difficult to plan my days. So good to have two long conversations with your family. Oh, You are in Christmas mood already, how sweet!

Rae, so bad that the nights wake up are difficult for you. Hope the new schedule of Taz to help!

Nancy, have a fun at Chilhuly! Hope the game is good!

Jean, I guess this part when you can to review and consider the whole information in details is even more exciting than the rush to collect it. I'm curious what happened after that?! We don't have Genealogy here, so I'm saw this only at the CSI in the episode when family tree was made for gift. I can't completely to understand and I'm curious. Sounds so intrigued like a detective of past.
