Happy Thursday and a good morning to you all. I hope that you all are doing well. I slept better last night, no "it is the weekend" dreams to confuse me :???:
I got a couple of things crossed off of my to-do list which was nice. I finished paying the bills for the month and I *finally* ordered new glasses. I love Zenni. I was able to get a pair of cute purple cat-eye glasses for $31! Caitlyn helped me pick them out so I have the fashion diva's approval.
I also layered up and took W for a walk. Halfway out, it got really windy and I wanted to zip my jacket, only to find out that the zipper was broken. I need to keep my hands in the pockets to keep it sort of closed which was not that easy since I had the leash in my hand. Thank goodness that W walks nice. If it were J, I wouldn't have been able to do that. :dogwalk::faint2:
Today, I am off to clean then stare into the fridge and cabinets to see what food I have to cook for dinner.

May your day be more exciting in a good way that mine will be. hugs!!!

Nancy- that is fantastic news that you are feeling better and I bet that all of the endorphins from the Devils games are boosting your immune system. I wonder why the BA dinner was bland for your DH. At least he ate it.
I can't believe that you dreamed about Costco! hahaha!! I looked at the Ramapo website to see more info about the possible internship and it sounds fascinating. If I found the right one, this is the course description:
Topics include Amazonian ecology, ecological culture in indigenous communities, community governance, perspectives of diverse stakeholders, ecosystem services, supply chains, sustainable development, ecotourism and subsistence and market-oriented, organic agriculture, forestry, and natural resource management as practiced by small landholders.
Doesn't that sound perfect for Scott? He will need a GPA of 2.5 and I think he is close to that but might be slightly under. Poor kid knows his stuff but never tested well.

Trudy- That is *not* a photo-- that has to be a painting! The colors are unreal. What a breathtakingly beautiful photo!
How was your hike, hopefully, the fog wasn't an issue? I cannot imagine what they would do to a car. Yikes. Deer are bad enough. :(
Isn't it crazy of me that I am so excited and want Scott to go to another continent? haha!!! I am shocked by myself.

Rae- good luck getting all of your work and photo editing taken care of. I can't imagine giving up flour/sugar/dairy. Nope. Proud of you that you can and have been doing well well.
How did the zucchini chips come out?

xoxo

Morning everyone, foggy here again this morning, but it will clear off when the sun pops out. Yesterday as I left for the hike the only place that had fog was our nieghbourhood. I dropped of the meal for MIL and FIL and they were very happy to see me. MIL is looking much better, however she is still very weak. I offered to come up again on the weekend and help with housework, or do some grocery shopping for them, but of course they both said "oh no we are fine" :mmph: fine? really? You were sick for a week before being admitted to the hospital and never told anyone. We only found out because you were admitted to the hospital ya you're fine alright!!! They are so frustrating :frusty: Oh well they are who they are, guess they won't change at this stage of the game. Anyway the hike was beautiful, a new one for all of us. The opposite side of the lake way out in old logging areas that have now been re-planted. Stunning views of the lake and the whole valley. This is where we had our lunch.

On my way home I stopped by a local craft/art store and picked up a few things I needed. Then DH did hamburgers on the BBQ, they were so good! We watched a couple of shows on tv and then off to bed early, I was beat!! So I am hoping to get some scrapping done today, some painting also and get started on my calendars! Wish me luck everyone, because it always seems that when I get started something pops up and I am taken away from my good intentions LOL.

Chris - Isn't that photo of the elk amazing!! My sister is not the greatest photographer, so she must have really lucked out on this one LOL. Glad to hear that you slept better last night! Great score on the new glasses too! Now you need to get that zipper fixed on your coat! WTG on getting out for your walk with W! Such a good puppy for walking so well while you tried to keep your coat closed! Have fun staring into your fridge and cupboards LOL I need to do the same tomorrow. :mmph:

Nancy - I hope that you are continuing to feel better!

Rae - You are such a busy lady! Hope you get some time to relax and go for jog with Taz today. The weather continues to be so nice, enjoy every moment of it. We know that once the rain starts up again, it might never stop!! LOL Hope your chips turned out good!

I need my second cup of coffee and then I am spending the day doing some creative things. I really need this day to myself! Have a great Thursday ladies!

Yesterday I got DH to go see "A Star Is Born" starring Lady Gaga. I was a fan back in the Bad Romance days and really wanted to see it though didn't get the best reviews. Big music movies just aren't the same at home so I really wanted to see it in the theater. Wow, that makes two movies in about two months. I did enjoy it, but the story does taper off. Next month I'll want to do it again when "Bohemian Rhapsody" comes out (about Freddie Mercury and Queen). Given that one movie a year is a lot for us any more, this will be strange.

This afternoon DH will be with Hum and Strum playing at a branch of our library that has been remodeled. I'm going with him so more fun.

Chris, glad you didn't get a repeat of the "it's the weekend" dreams. Sometimes when I wake up I really have to think to know what day of the week it is but then many of my days are really just the same. Scott's potentially going on that internship to Peru sounds so fabulous. Sure hope it comes about. And I think we'll need photos of these new glasses.

Trudy, what a wonderful view from your hike. Nice that there was somewhere none of you had been and that it was so beautiful. And the elk at your sister's was incredible. We are amazed by seeing deer, so that was just breath taking. Yeah, and can't imagine the disaster of hitting one on the road. It will be so nice if you really get to scrap and paint today.

Nancy, are you feeling better today? Nothing like winning Devils to improve your spirits.

Rae, with being so busy, hope all goes smoothly.

good late afternoon - The sun is shining and wind is blowing but it is blue skies so that makes me happy. Had fun last night at dinner getting all caught up with my girlfriend. Then this am I had a nice talk with my sister. We are both back and just noting that we have no adventures on the horizon. Seems so weird. I guess it is time to take a break and get caught up with things and get back to feeling really well. Tonight is another Devils home hockey game the Colorado Avalanche. Only my son and I going as his wife is busy with school stuff.

Chris that internship for Scott sounds amazing! Good luck to him! Glad that you got Cait approval on the glasses. You are lucky to have someone who knows fashion I have no one. Of course the zipper was broken as you find walking the dog but such a good dog. This morning my DH was walking Luther and Luther goes bonkers barking and not just a regular bark but a real menacing barking like he wants to attack. Turns out there was a fox that did not want to run away and Luther was not backing down. Finally the fox left - glad it was not me walking Luther. Glad your todo list is shrinking!

Trudy that photo of the elk is gorgeous. They are magnificent and I bet it would do a lot of damage to a car if you hit one. The hike photo is beautiful too! That must have been so fun!

Rae I know you will be busy! But take some time for yourself. I too want to know how the chips turned out!

Jean thanks for seeing the movie. I like Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper and I want to see this new version but I saw the version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson and it will always be my favorite. I downloaded the songs from the new movie and none of them struck me as I need to hear again but maybe seeing them in context in the movie I will like them more. Have fun listening to your DH's band. That is so cool!

Have a great day all!
