I love the "O"
hello my dear O-zies,

I hope you are all doing good.

Here the weather turned :mmph:. Cold, rainy and the dark time of the year starts. But I don´t turn on the central heating.....nooooo not now. I take a hot water bottle and it´s cosy;)
WE had our car at the yearly check yesterday. it´s expensive enough to pay 400 Euro only for new oil and some filters. But getting a telephone call where the very friendly man tells us that they found 2 other things, the first costs 800 euro and the second 400 euro is so annoying and frustrated. it´s not fun .
if your life runs smoothly be sure something is in the air and ...bang.:?

Good morning Astrid, how are you? I know that feeling all too well with the car stuff. Last month, I had my car in for brakes and I ended up needing $900 worth of repairs. Not that there is *ever* a good time for that, but I have not been able to work since January and we are having a really tough time of it.
I hope that they didn't find anything else wrong and that the repairs are done quickly, if you had to leave it there.

It is always *something.* :mmph:

I just checked our weather, and the next few nights are going to get down into the 20*F! We have the heat on at night, (one of the benefits of low oil prices!), but I don't like this weather at all. Sounds like you don't either.

I made it through yesterday's "fun" and only screamed and yelled and stamped my feet for a few hours. LOL Not really-- it was limited yelling. It took me an hour to write the letter to the Drs office, laying out all of the dates etc. Then I ran over to the post office to send it Certified- an hour of my time and $4 in postage for something that I shouldn't have to be dealing with. blergh.

I get home from food shopping and there is a note from Gary on the counter to call V. at the Cancer Care Center. This is the drs office that had been billing me from last year and I had all of the referrals re-sent to them. My heart drops, like what else can go wrong with this?? When I speak to V. she tells me that the referrals are the "wrong kind" that they need to be on a special form. That there is no way that they can accept this as a referral and that b/c it is from a year and a half ago, she doesn't think that my PCP will be able to write a new one. I ask her as politely as I can manage why the office wouldn't tell me all of this when I brought them in on the day of my visit?? :frusty:
She puts me on hold (no Hold Music, thank goodness. that now has me conditioned to be angry) and then comes back and tells me that she will be able to waive the bill but if I need to come back to make sure that I had the proper forms for referrals. I joked with her that whatever health plan I chose, I will gladly pay whatever premiums that I have to in order to get one that doesn't require Referrals.

Hopefully this is the end of these issues for a little while. I am not dealing with anything medical today. I should be making an appt for an eye exam but I don't want to speak to anyone about medical/insurance etc!

Today is National Grouch Day! This is a special day for all the grouchy people out there to celebrate. Grouches are typically miserable, grumpy, and irritable. They thrive off of others’ misfortunes, and only then are they “happy”.
National Grouch Day allows all grouches out there to celebrate their way of life. Not a grouch? This day also gives all the normally chipper people a day to complain for once! For those everyday grouches, here are a few ways to live a happier life: do a fun or silly activity, allow yourself only five minutes of negative time, do something to benefit others, or enjoy some healthy foods.
Celebrate National Grouch Day by being pessimistic, cranky, and irritable, and then be nice tomorrow! You can also celebrate by watching an episode of Sesame Street in honor of Oscar the Grouch, or by sending one of our free Sesame Street online invitations for an upcoming party.
yesterday was Grover's B-day, and today is My Special Day! hahahah!!!

::grouphug to all!!!

Claire- I am sorry that you aren't feeling good either. The one thing about it being something in the air-- that means it will have to go away!
The trees are turning here too, and as much as I dislike this weather, they really do look amazing. I hope that you were/are able to get out with your camera.
Really sorry to hear that nothing was recoverable form DH's laptop. I still have to see if I can find a way to get back my iTunes library that got wiped after an update last month.
Does Robbie have a favorite Muppet? They are all just so fun and innocent. Well, maybe nor Oscar the Grouch... :)

Yuck! Running late! Be back after the bus stop!

well, that took a little longer than I expected. Cait asked me to drive her to school so she could make something for b-fast and lunch. Her school is a good 15 minutes away so typically, I would tell her nope, grab a granola for the road. Since she is making such a good effort to eat better, and I had nothing else planned for the most part today except around here, I figured, sure. Not to mention, she makes me laugh and I needed that this morning ;)

Trudy- did you sleep better last night? Neither Cait nor I slept good last night and we both were feeling it. Thanks for the Bailey's, I'll take a double shot today, please.
I love the Swedish Chef! "Squirrel-y Stew!" i would love to hear your son doing the voices! That would crack me up !
Good luck with your 2016 calendars. I should email my MIL for her pics of Scotland so I can get started on their Xmas gift.

Nancy- That sounds like such a silly thing for the Devils' coach to do. Hope that they did better last night if they played.
My parents live in Parsippany, right off of Rt 80 so for them, that is the easiest way to go to PA. I will see if I can figure out where the deli is. And you are right-- the wings will probably not be hot enough for Scott hahah!!!!

Now I have to get my days started- sending sunshine and hugs!

good morning - yesterday got in two good walks one with my girlfriend and one by myself. It has been so nice. Today high in the mid 60s but then chilly and possible rain tomorrow. I am always so sorry to hear about others car problems when I am so lucky to have my own mechanic. In fact this morning I got up early and I am already back and he did the oil change. He of course does a quick inspection. It is so cool to know that he will not tell me something is wrong unless it is really wrong. Getting my vacation photos scrapped so that is good. Watched the Blue Jays win! What a strange game! It should be exciting to watch KC and Toronto! Seems like all of Canada is pulling for the Blue Jays.

Chris glad that the medical hazels were mostly solved. And I don't believe you are a grouch because I don't believe you are happy when others are down.

Anika sorry about the car problems. Hope they are solved without much pain.

Claire hope you had a great photo walk!

Trudy your Skype sessions with your grandson always sound like such fun. Love the page about the pumpkin picking!

Sharron and Jean waving hi!

Have a great day!

Morning ladies... Just looking out at my backyard and wondering how much longer my impaitents will survive, the nights are getting very cool, but no frost yet. It will be sad to have to pull them out they are still so pretty! Well last night the home gym that I had up for sale got sold!! Hooray I can finally get that thing out of the den and put the love seat in that spot. There is one loveseat already in that room, but the matching one has been stored in the suite and is never used. It will look so much better in that room when they are together again! I haven't told DH yet that it has been sold and he has to take it apart and deliver it on Saturday :becky: I don't think he will mind though.

Astrid - Ughhh unexpected vehicle costs are no fun at all!! Hope they don't find anything else wrong with your car! I hope it is a reputable dealer and they are not taking advantage of you!! Glad you are keeping warm by having a nice hot bath, it sure warms the body! We are fortunate to live in a climate where we can use a heat pump and so no expensive gas or oil for us.

Chris - Yes I did have a better sleep last night, but for some reason my clock decided it was Daylight Savings Time and so when I woke up I thought it was an hour later than it really was LOL. Hope you get the photos you need for your Christmas gift! I usually have to get photos from my SIL to do the Auzzies calendar. I better get going on them quickly they leave to head down unda at the end of November. Hope you and Cait both had a better sleep last night also! Thank goodness no more insurance woes today, you have had way more than you should ever have to deal with!! Here is your double shot of Bailey's for your coffee today
coffee3-smiley.gif

Nancy - So glad that you love your stamps!! Can't wait to see how you frame them. Hope you get to enjoy your walk again today before your temps change! You are so lucky to have a mechanic in the family!! So many bad guys out there trying to rip you off!! Wasn't that a weird ball game yesterday, yes I am watching too and I don't normally like to watch baseball, but this is exciting!! Yes us

are all cheering for the Jays, we don't have any other MLB teams to cheer for LOL. It is very exciting for us!! DH's Bruins finally won a game last night so he was a pretty happy guy! Hope your Devils do better next game and your coach thinks better about what he is doing!!

Well off to swimming again today, I bought myself a set of flippers to help with my leg strength....wow it makes me go fast!! LOL Just use them for a few laps and it seems to help me with my kicking for sure! Now I have to find some exercises to use them for in the water to see how else they can improve my technique. No Skyping with Mason today, he is in play school this morning, so hoping that DD is enjoying some alone time! She sent me lots of photos to play with, now to find the time to get them scrapped!! I still have hundreds of photos to sort through from the summer of my other grands too, so much to scrap, so little time!! :becky: Hope you all have a wonderful day !

Afternoon, O-zzies! Sunny here and changing leaves look lovely. It is cool and windy though. Yesterday had the monthly genealogy group at the senior center that is always a nice time. Nothing planned for me today other than the usual.

Chris, I agree you don't fit the grouch description as you do NOT enjoy others having difficulties but quite the opposite. So, stressed to the max, but not a grouch! I can't imagine why the insurance business has to be such a mess or why you have to be on the receiving end of so much nonsense.

Astrid, oh no on the car complications! Sure hope all is well with it for a long time after the repairs. I don't mind the cooler weather now as long as I get sun like today, but when it comes to winter weather, I'm going to be very sad.

Nancy, those walks sure sound good, but I'm still glad it's you taking them and not me! Your vacation pages are lovely and enjoyable, so amazed you get them done so promptly.

Trudy, what good news on selling the home gym! I'm sure the loveseat will be a big improvement in looks and usefulness both. I don't have much preference in the American League series, so guess I can cheer for the Blue Jays too. I was happy to see them win the division series.

Hi to Sharron, Claire and all.

Good morning everyone busy day here so posting on yesterday's thread. Felt much better yesterday, we didn't go swimming as we had an orthotics appointment, New venue and new lady meant Robbie retreated behind his mp3 player and downcast eyes. She was brilliant, just took it all in her stride, we also managed to get a new pair of boots as well as the new planne inner lifts with the better sole which is very good with winter coming. Robbie has poor muscle tone, one of the symptoms of Down Syndrome, which means he has worn hospital boots all his life.

We went round town shopping and got a taxi home as lots of bags. Easy afternoon.

Today I am catching the 10am bus up to my friends, for a coffee and natter then lunch out. She usually comes to me so will be nice to go to hers for a change.

Sending hi to everyone
Bye
Claire
