Good morning and happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate today.
I am drinking my coffee and making my list of things I need to work on today and 99.9999% revolves around food. :hungry:
I have to make the rolls this morning and then the potatoes in the afternoon while the "turkey" is in the oven. I decided to set the table with my china. Why not, right? We will be wearing pajamas and eating off china, sounds like a Faery kind of holiday to me. LOL I can't tell you the last time I used my china. It had to be when I had Christmas dinner here when the kids were small. I wonder if it was the year that the cat jumped into the china cabinet and all of the dishes crashed onto the floor, breaking many of them? That was the year that Caitlyn was born and I had postpartum depression and all I could do was cry. Nah, there had to be another time I used them. What a waste of money. Man, if I could go back in time I would never have registered for that for my wedding. It would have been all practical items.
But it is what it is so I am going to use them today. In my pajamas. *nods*

Not much else is happening here. I am starting to think more about Christmas prep. That is kinda terrifying! ha!

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Trudy- what a bummer about the weather being perfect for a hike that isn't allowed to go on. I am relieved that you and most people in your country are taking this so seriously. Wish I could say the same for the US. I hope that you can safely continue swimming until your scheduled days are done. Did you visit a bit with your sister?
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your ex-BIL. (How ironic that Cheryl and I were just talking about assisted death the other day. This is legal in Canada?)
Thank you for the good thoughts to me and my family. Back atcha!!

Cheryl- Ack! That must have been heart-stopping when the oven wasn't working. Yikes! Glad to hear that it is mostly fixed. A year or so ago, we were hosting the family Sept Birthday Bash here with 25 of us and the power blew. My whole house is electric and I was panicking. After an hour of no power were started to call around to see whose house we could gather at instead. A little after that, the power came back on, but dang if I wasn't freaking out just a bit! Have a great time with the family today!

Kay- It is crazy how time gets so out of hand so quickly. I had the same thing happening with our backup and then it started working again. Tech really has a mind of its own.
My parents do the same thing, if there were;t hosting T Day, they would make a small turkey the next day. They would usually bring it up to their house in PA, just the two of them. This year they aren't going, PA is having restrictions on travel into the state and they aren't sure how it will be enforced. They will wait a bit and see what happens after the holiday. It isn't like they have to go anywhere, NJ>Car>PA>Car>NJ, but the PA website is saying that out of state people can get fined.
Will you be zooming with your family today? Enjoy!!!!

Good Morning ladies... Not too dark and gloomy out there today, so that is nice! I had an ok sleep, woke up a few times but fell back to sleep again right away. I feel a bit more refreshed this morning than I usually do. Still having lots of dreams, crazy discombobulated ones that make no sense at all! :noidea: Yesterday was spent making sympathy cards as my Sister asked if I could make a few for her also. How could I say no, after all the great toques she made for me? They all turned out great and I hope everyone will love them! I had a nice little visit with my sister and she was happy to be able to talk to me. She sees only a few people within her bubble so these visits are so meaningful! We both were happy to catch up a bit! Today I will get my online grocery shopping done and hopefully get a few gifts purchased for Isaac and Sadie. I have already finished shopping for Mason and Hunter. I am ahead of the game this year!
Oh dear a face time call is coming in so I gotta go :bolt:

good afternoon - Happy Thanksgiving day to those celebrating. My DH and I are doing a bubble of just the two of us. But I don't mind it is kinda nice to just be with the one you love. My son and his main girl brought us bagels and spent some time before they had to get back for her family. My oldest son is cooking for her family. I don't know their bubble at all and they have a house guest from Texas. But luckily my youngest and the family are coming to help decorate our tree and we will have turkey then. When dealing with families and divorces you have to be flexible. Yesterday was a fun walk with Luther. He was scent chasing something and we found it a raccoon down by the river. It was circuitous route and by the time we got home we had walked over 3 miles. It was awesome. And my knees were great. And they are great today too. Today's weather is 60 and cloudy but makes for a good walk day.

Chris I think eating on your China makes perfect sense. It should be used and stored away. I would cry too if mine had fallen and broken. My is my mother's handed down and I would be heart broken. Have fun today!

Trudy I am like Chris and I wish more people in our government took the pandemic more seriously. Have fun swimming. I hope they don't have to close. Cards for toques sounds like a fair trade. good luck with the shopping!

Cheryl loss of an oven at this time of the year is the pits! Glad it is mostly fixed. Have a great day.

Kay, Jean Rae, Felis and all have great day!

Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating it today!!!

Just took the pumpkin pie out of the oven.... oh... it smells so good! Had enough pumpkin pie stuff for a 9" pie and for a small custard bowl. I always baked the small one and that was what my DH used to call 'his appetizer'! He did love his pumpkin pie. I posted a photo on FB HERE. Will have my turkey meal later on this afternoon.

Chris, LOL over your being in pajamas and eating off of china.... sounds like my kind of holiday!!! Oh, I bet your were heartbroken the year the china got broken. Enjoy your meal.

Nancy, glad you had a nice long walk with Luther... and a nice day with your DH.

Trudy, glad you are having a nice day with some sunshine.
We have a clear sunshiny day with no wind... but on the cool side - only 50*. Cold front coming in tomorrow so will enjoy today.

Happy Thanksgiving to all celebrating today!
For us it is really not much different than usual except there won't be a football game tonight because of COVID.

Hugs to all and hopes it's kicking off a feel good season.
