The sun is shining today- no rain for the next 18 hours or so and I am going to take advantage of it. All of my housework is going to wait until tomorrow. Or the next day. We'll see. *shrugs*
It has been so grey and chilly the last three days, it will be nice to be outside for sure

Today is Caitlyn's last day on campus as a student. I asked her how she felt about it and all she could say was bittersweet. I get that. I don't think it has hit me at all, I can not imagine how weird it is for her. She is also down to her last paper which is due on Saturday.

I am starting to get party details nailed down mostly in where I am *not* ordering a vegan cake. A small round cake for 8-10 people was $75!!! There are two more bakeries I need to check with but whooeee. That one is more than I am budgeted for the regular cake to feed all of the non-vegans. Caitlyn even said that if that is totally out of budget, we can make an ugly homemade vegan cake, and I said that Tom will eat it anyway. I am so relieved that the family is helping me pay for all of this, it's a lot. eep.

I have the stuff to do around the house-- laundry and all that and then once it warms up, I am gonna get my DEET on and head outside. Scott is off today-- I want to ask him if we can go on a short hike but he hasn't had a day to himself since he went back to work.

we are in a mind-meld for sure, me and you I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest looking for party ideas and then I am off looking at something totally different. Then my feed refreshes itself and I have more and new things to check out hahaha!!!! YKWIM?? Of course, you do!
I like the comfy clothes ideas of a tunic top and nice leggings. I am trying to think what I wore to my ILs anniversary party, that was the last time I got semi-dressed up. I think I borrowed a sweater dress from Cait. That won't work in June blergh

@bcgal00 does it feel totally decadent to be watching tv in the morning? Good for you!!! I bet a bigger house can be easier to keep clean if things are more organized- at least that is what I dream about someday

@Cherylndesigns I hope that the rain is gone today for you too. It has been super soggy here and that makes me all out of sorts (as you know!)
This is the brand of jeans that I am addicted to D's Jeans. I have three pairs- one ripped, one plain, and one long shorts. Can't go wrong at $17. These are stretchy too and are made from recycled plastic bottles which make the tree hugger in me very happy.
I haven't been to an "actual" mall in years and years and years- but there is a Macy's at the one near my mom. I can pop in there one day when I am visiting her.

@LSlycord Oh how wonderful to be in Paris!!! Have fun and I can't wait to see the family photos-- I have been loving what you are sharing on FB!

Good morning my lovelies! We are in an attic room in Paris so I keep bonking my head. But it is really delightful because it is so iconic. We were rudely awakened by a loud alarm at 3:30 this morning. False fire alarm. After going down a very winding staircase, we returned to our room And eventually got back to sleep! Oh my!

Then we grabbed a taxi and made it over to the Eiffel Tower so that we could get our family photos done! Outstanding morning. Cannot wait to see them! Ate a very late breakfast, returned to our hotel via the Metro and then took a short nap to refresh so that we have energy for a later night tonight. Must see the City of Lights.

Good morning! Another very rainy morning! Still stuck in my ground hog day like boredom! I did manage to complete MIL's card, it took me most of the day to complete it! The flower and butterfly were done with my silhouette machine! I just love that machine!
I did get out for a walk as the weather cleared a bit after lunch and then went into the backyard to pick up some branches that had fallen off our neighbours tree and into our yard. The poor trees are dying and I sure wish that they would take care of them or get rid of them!! One day they will just topple over and probably take out our fence. Yup they belong to those people that live behind us #angry2 LOL. I am going to spend some time today looking at new earplugs and try to get back to swimming. I miss it and my body is telling me that I need to get the exercise!! The weight is slowly creeping up again. My DH is dropping pounds like crazy, but I continue to gain grrrr!! I seem to be in a grumpy mood this morning LOL. So won't continue to bore you with my mundane life!

@faerywings - Oh yes I totally know what you mean!! I sit down to research something and then off I go looking at something totally unrelated to the reason I sat down at the computer!! Two hours later, I am trying to remember why I was sitting in front of the computer again?? Then I get up to start on something else and remember what I was looking for and it happens again LOL. On and on it goes #crazy Glad that you are starting to get things done for the graduation celebration! I can't blame you one bit for not ordering the vegan cake!! I am sure that either you or Caitlyn will make a very nice looking one yourselves! Hope you continue to get more arrangements made! That is so hard to believe that Cait will be having her last day on campus! I bet it really is bittersweet for her! Hope you enjoy your time outside today!

@LSlycord - How wonderful to be in Paris! Are you going to the Palace of Versailles ? It was my fav spot when we were there! If you go to breakfast there, you have to try the hot chocolate! The French make the most delicious hot chocolate ever!! So fun to see your trip unfolding on Facebook! Thanks for sharing with us!

Good morning ladies. Had a full afternoon of shopping with Jen yesterday. We got groceries, paint (D is painting cabinets in the garage), dropped off bags to value village and did a bit of clothes shopping. We found a good sale on TVs so Jen bought a big screen for her living room and will put the smaller one in her bedroom. I don't plan to go anywhere for the next few days other than groceries if needed and the dog park. I thought I'd have so much free time with retirement but not yet LOL. The gas guy is supposed to come today to hook up the gas line for the BBQ and fire pit. I say "supposed to" b/c here in Kamloops that seems to be a suggestion, not a fact. We are still waiting for a landscape guy to come out, even though we have made an appointment 3 times now.

I haven't seen ma and pa sparrow in their birdhouse so not sure if they are going to use it or not. It may just be that I don't look out at the times they are around. Time will tell if any babies emerge.

@faerywings Enjoy getting outside today. It must feel so weird for C, her last day on campus.

@LSlycord Enjoy Paris. I bet you are getting amazing photos!

Good afternoon.

We have NO internet this am. Had 7 1/2" of rain!! It rained SO hard last night and the lightning hit something right here, so it probably took our internet/tv's out. None of us has any. I won't be downloading or uploading any big files again (shades of living w/o wifi again) - I'm working off my phone. Thank goodness we have unlimited data - that's all I can say. Chuck's running on my phonr too - on his computer. That loud clap of thunder (right after the huge bolt of lightning) that I know hit right here scared the you-know-what out of me last night!! I couldn't go to bed until the torrential downpour stopped. I tried and ended up getting back up. It finally let up around 3 am.

I feel bad for Adrienne, Roger and Ava because they all work from home. They're on top of it because they NEED it! They're working on it right now. I just WANT it, #dk

Chris @faerywings I can't believe it's Cait's last day on campus! Glad you're zeroing in on things - not sure about the vegan cake either. LOL Of course, I don't eat sweet very successfully so it might taste better than I think it would. I'd eat a vegan cake if it tasted sweet and didn't hurt my belly,

Linda @LSlycord loving your pictures - I've been following you on FB too. Sounds like a wonderful trip!! You'll have pages for days when you get home!

Oh, WOW,,,, such drama going on last night and today!

@LSlycord What a scare that must have been to be awaken by a fire alarm at 3 AM!!! You were smart to grab your passports as you left the room to walk down 6 flights of stairs. Had to LOL over you having an attic room where you bump your head on the ceiling as you move around. Yes, some hotel rooms in Europe are really small... had that happen in both Amsterdam and London. Hope the rest of the trip goes okay. BTW, love seeing the photos on FB.

@Cherylndesigns That is a LOT OF RAIN!!! And add lightening to it just makes it worse. Don't blame you for being up while it was so bad. So sorry about you losing the TV and internet. Wish some of that rain was falling in my state as we need it so badly.

@faerywings I know that today will be bittersweet for Cait as she finishes up her college degree program. A Vegan cake??? Bet you can bake one and certainly less expensive the one you priced!! Outrageous!!#mad Good luck on deciding what to wear for each of those events. I would go for what is comfortable and looks good.

I was busy this morning posting some CT stuff. Then ran a couple of errands. Took back a couple of things that were the wrong size but was able to find the right size in them! And paid a couple of bills and filled the SUV with gas. Stopped at Sam's and Kohl's but didn't find anything I wanted. They no longer carry the bathmat I wanted to replace in the store. They have discontinued that brand. UGH. I will check on-line to see if I can find it there.

I know the next couple of days with iNSD sales running, we will be busy getting LOs loaded. And, yes... there is a lot of stuff that I would like to have.

Not sure what is going on with home phone and handsets... it no longer will keep the correct time - seems to be losing an hour a day on it. I was able to reset a few days ago but now it will no longer let me reach the area to reset it. So... guess I will be buying a new phone set soon!

Still w/o internet/tv. Looks like it might be a while. Ava just got a new, huge 4x4 truck and she got out and took some pics. We're barely able to get off OUR property but a lot of the roads around here got washed out. All I've heard all day is the chain saws up on the road. Chuck got to the mailbox this am, but I guess the gully beside the mailboxes is about gone. Our pond is ALL over the lower level. The first picture is on our property and the second one is one of the roads that's washed out around us.
