:bliss: I looooove this weather! It was 85* yesterday!!! 48 hours earlier, it was snowing which is still mind-boggling to me. But it was fantastic to be outside. Made me happy!!

I cleaned and then did some yard work. I was good and wore a hat, sunscreen, and tons of tick spray. Now I have to wait and see if I managed to walk in any poison ivy. This time of year, it is hard to see the vines since they haven't gotten their leaves yet. But the vines are almost as bad with the oil content. The dogs were outside with me a while too. W enjoys digging in the dirt. Pfft. My front yard is horrible to begin with, rocky, dry soil. Dog pee burns in the little grass we have. And now the Brat is digging holes everywhere. Why do I bother?

While I was outside, I could hear a *lot* of fire, ambulance, and police sirens. I did my metal headcount of where the kids were. Scott pulled up soon after and Cait was home 5 minutes after him. It turns out that a plane crashed at the airport that is 1 mile from my house. It is a very small airport for small planes. (Sidenote: there were a lot of rumors that some of the 9-11 hijackers were at that airport. We know for sure that they practiced/played at the Paint Ball place right around the corner from me. Ya think you live in a sleepy, semi-rural town, but who really knows?)
At any rate, the crash started a fire in the area where Jungle Habitat used to be-- which ironically enough, was where Scott and his friend were supposed to be hiking after dinner last night. I heard that pilot died in the crash, very sad and scary. :(

I made the first iteration of the IL's Save the Date card. SIL loves it and is going to look for some older photos of them since I was only able to steal some off of MIL's FB page. She lives near them and can sneak into the house and get some for me.

Today, it is going to be the same weather and of course, I will be in the kitchen baking most of the day. Where was the cold weather a few days ago? Nope. Not even going to joke. I would rather be baking in the kitchen in the summer than dealing with cold weather. Gary asked for banana bread and shortbreads for his b-day. I won't let him down.

Have a super day and I hope that your day is as sunny as mine!

Nancy- I bet you are enjoying this weather too. Is Luther holding up ok? I know he doesn't like the heat and it has to be a shock to this system to go from cold to hot to quickly. It is a joy though!
That goal must have been crazy to watch in real time. Wow!
Gary had the news on last night as I was cooking dinner and they kept reporting weather from the shore towns. I wish I could have been there!
I am sure that you had a great time at dinner with your friend.

Sadly-- no insurance reimbursement. Lyme Drs can't accept insurance because of the BS and targeting they go through. Many LLMDs have had their licenses threatened or revoked because they don't follow the CDC Guidelines in treating Lyme. 2 weeks of Doxy and your are cured- Hallelujah! Yeah, right.
We can usually get oral abx covered by insurance but none of our IV or IM abx were covered and we had to pay out of pocket for all of that too. See why we are in debt? So frustrating. Loads of credit card debt and not a new piece of furniture/vacation/iPhone to show for it :pound:

Trudy- good for you for 30 laps in the pool! Must be easy to get that many in when you aren't fighting in crowded lanes. I saw the one Hike LO on FB-- such beauty!!!
Makes me so happy to hear that you and DH relaxed on your deck with a glass of wine!!
I am so happy that I have been able to do a lot of work with perennials, I split and moved a few liriope plants to the front of the yard. I hope they get big enough for the dog walkers to stay off of that area. I am going to miss Scott bringing home plants for me from the garden center. Great news about getting 30% off the tubers!!MIL will love them!
I found some cool chalk-painted wine bottle vases on Pinterest. I might have Scott save any beer bottles that he drinks and I have an old Bailey's bottle that I saved so some reason. hehe! I need two for the 13th and then the rest I will need by June 2nd.

Rae- you have every last good thought that I have for a good transition to the right hospital and for continued improvement in brain swelling for B. That in itself has to be very encouraging. Hugs to all of you!!!
I hope that you have the same yummy weather today too!

Felis-- are you ok?? Miss you!!!
Hi, jean- hope that you are enjoying lots of time outside with the birds!

Love to everyone!

good morning - I had such a great time at dinner. The food and company were awesome and we got to sit outside as it was in the 80s. Ahh! And today even warmer. I love it. Luther just drinks more water and lays on the cool kitchen floor instead of the carpet. And he loves being outside at night. My son and his friend decided they had to go see the new Marvel movie. Of course the 10pm showing and Luther and I were up watching hockey but Luther was mostly outside. He did bark and finally I brought him in at 1am. LOL. Well the hockey games did not end the way I wanted but I know they are not going to be sweeps. The refs are still the pits. I read the NHL came down on the commentators to not be so hard on the refs. They are just to describe what they see and not add the disparaging remarks. LOL What a joke if you are told you cant criticize. I think they should be telling the refs to do a better job. And believe me I know they have a tough job and it happens fast but still refs suck it up and admit you make mistakes. Two more games tonight. The Caps lost one of the players to a suspension which seems really harsh. The Pens whined and they got what they wanted though I do think that hits to the head should be penalties. If they were I think they would leave the game. The poor player hit has a broken jaw and that is not good. My son did say the movie is awesome. And he did get up and left for work on time so that is good.

Chris this weather is so great but I have to say we should have gotten some spring but I think next week will be more spring like. And trust me I am not complaining! LOL Glad you got in some outdoor time. That is awesome about the save the date card. You do great work!

Trudy wow 30 laps. I sleep much better when tired. I think out bodies really exercise. The Bruins were not the Bruins last night. They can only be better.

Rae sending you lots of hugs and prayers for Bailey. Glad that there is progress. I sure hope this neurologist carries through and gets the paper work started and finished. I am sure the Bailey would love to be out of the hospital - I am loving the bird photos on facebook.

Waving to Felis and Jean!

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone! Sunny but hazy day today, not sure where the haze is coming from, surely there can't be forest fires already!! Yesterdays hike was so pretty, as we travelled along the creekside there were many little waterfalls and beautiful little pools of clear water and the rocks all covered in gorgeous green moss. I think this hike to Bing's Creek will be in my top ten favourite hikes. Another hiking page coming up LOL. Wonder how long it will take me to finish this one? :becky:

Chris - Nice to see you so happy with the weather finally! On our hike yesterday one of the men had a tick on him that he discovered when he got home, he quickly sent a message to all of us to check for ticks. Happily I did not have any! I wore a hat on this hike, which I hardly ever do and had my tights tucked into my socks so I think that must have helped for sure! Yes its too bad that Scott is unable to bring home more plants for you, but maybe he will be starting his own gardening business soon and will supply his Mom with all kinds of great things! Too bad you don't live closer I could supply you with all kinds of empty wine bottles, a few full ones too

I hope that you have fun doing the save the date cards etc. Its always fun to do something crafty like that! That is sad about the plane crash and the pilot dying and how scary to think that the 911 murderers were possibly training at your sleepy little airport, you just never know do you? Hopefully you don't have to spend the entire day baking and in your kitchen, but I know your Gary will be very thankful for all the yummy goodies! I hope you get to spend some time outside in your yard again today!

Nancy - You are right the Bruins were not the Bruins last night, they seemed very unorganized and very discouraged, but who could blame them when the officiating is so awfully one sided! A disappointing loss for them last night, but hopefully they will come back with a vengeance and finish this off with wins from now on! I slept very well again last night after our 7K hike, most of it was climbing along a very pretty trail. It was an even better sleep being able to have the window open a bit too LOL. I really want to see the new Marvel movie, perhaps a date night is in order, of course it would have to be a night when the Bruins aren't playing LOL. I hope that you and Luther have a wonderful day in the sunshine!

Rae - Oh I do hope that the doctor follows through with the paperwork! Good news about the latest MRI showing improvement and hopefully the fact that she is still fairly young and will heal quicker will be on her side! You know of course that I will be sending you all every good wish and prayer that I can! Be patient though, this could take a very long time with lots of therapy still a head for "B" be thankful that she does not need to learn how to walk, talk and feed herself again like my poor Heather had too, however which is lesser of two evils, not walking on your own or the loss of so many memories and especially her short term! I wish I could say something to ease your burdens!

Felis - I am hoping that you are ok and just very busy with work and everyday life!

Jean - I hope that you are out with your DH enjoying some birding time together!

I have some things to do for Heather today and hope to get to the pool at some point today, lots of pinecones to clean up again in the backyard also :mmph: a never ending job! I hope you all have a fabulous Thursday!

Hello girls,
thanks for thinking of me! Nope, I'm not good! This month turns so bad. Life sucks, fate is bi*** , and the good is so weak that could not win any battle!
Right now I'm not good company and I'll come back later these days and will catch all missed, but for now I feels you had enough sad stories to need more. :yield:

Things aren't that bad here, mostly going on as usual, but we're in a bit of a funk over a sad and unexpected death in the family, DH's cousin in Texas. It's all a bit draining, so sorry, I'm not the best company just now either. :behindsofa:

Wishing better days to all of you.
