OMG! I cannot take the weather here, more rain and cold. This is some depressing BS. :hurt:

The sun came out for a little while yesterday so I cleaned out the junk from the old car to get it ready to sell. There is so much sand in it, made me sad to see. It feels like I will never get my feet in the sand at this point.

On the other hand, Cait's rat Muffin had dirt in her toes yesterday. Yup- dirt and grass. She made a "dig box" for the rats with sterilized potting soil and organic grass seed. Rats apparently like to dig in the dirt. When Cait first put Muffin is the bucket, she stood up, holding onto the side with her little hands, like a child hanging onto the side of a pool. Cait dropped a few CheeriO's in the grass so she could dig around for them. She was hesitant for a bit but then went after them. After a while, Muffin was digging in the dirt like a dog! She was ripping out the grass and nesting with it. She would poke her head up and her nose was diiry and her hands were dirty. Freaking adorable!
Who would have thought, but Cait follows other rat owners on Instagram and Pinterest and voila! New experiences for all of us :D

There is basically nothing going in here today. I am cleaning this afternoon and tonight I have to fast for my stress test tomorrow morning (blerg).

To all of the sickies- hope you are all feeling better.
To all of the puppies- belly rub!
To all of the scrappers- lots of good mojo to you!
And to all of you- have a fantastic day!

Nancy- you must be in hockey heaven! Lots of long series. Bet you are excited about tonight's game.
I want to see Hidden Figures and I am sure I will be shocked about the level of discrimination too. My mom told me and my kids a story that before she was married (so in the early 60's), she had a black co-worker who asked to borrow a lipstick. She gave it to her and then threw it out when she got it back. My kids were *appalled* I mean, really angry that my mom would do that. But that was considered "normal." It is very sad.

Darn it- we didn;t make the egg rolls b/c all of my avocados were bad. :( I hate my ShopRite, the produce stinks!

Trudy- I bet the hike was rejuvenating, I always feel so much better out in the woods around old trees. How is your neck today? Bet a massage will do wonders. You deserve it!
I totally understand How Heather feels and the frustration and desperation of it all.
On a good note, how is she feeling? She must be getting huge!! And I mean that in a great way :preggers:

Rae- poor you and Darrell, how exhausted you both must be. Hope that he was able to rest and not go bonkers and that you were able to catch up on all of your work.To think you were so excited about getting away last weekend and then all of this happens. :(
How did you do with the mushrooms? I am allergic- get nauseous- and find it easy enough to avoid them.

Sharon- that is a long day to be out and about, but fun to see where you used to live and how it changed. Hope you get to rest today!

xoxo!

good morning - Today is my DH's and my 43 wedding anniversary. I will be making dinner but other than that nothing too special. I think we are both getting recliners and make the TV room ours again. It is raining so hard that I cannot take Luther for a walk. Besides wet it is cold only in the 50s. It should stop later in the day and I will get him out then. Went to bed at 10pm. I was so tired. Not much happening. Make a good dinner knockwurst with sauerkraut and veggie combo of potatoes, carrots and onions with grainy mustard. It was really good. Tonight we be Mexican tostadas. Yummy

Chris this weather is the pits. I too can't believe this is Memorial day weekend and the start of summer. Where are the warmer temperatures? That is the cutest having the rats digging around the dirt and grass. I should have guessed there boards and intragrams about pet rats.

Trudy I figured you were out hiking - sounds like a lovely day. sorry about your neck. Hope the hike helps. Yes you should get your massage.

Rae you must have been exhausted. So glad he is home and feeling pretty good. I am sure you will be busy.

Sharon when I go home it is amazing to see all the changes yet always a little sad. Long day but I am sure it was worth it.

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies!! Yesterday's hike was so amazing!! So lovely to go through some old growth forest and amazing how big the trees are! It was a different hike with a very narrow trail and lots of loose shale gravel, so it was a bit precarious in a few spots, but we had lunch down by the Koksilah River, so beautiful!! It was a bit cool in the morning but the sun came out for us as we sat down for lunch, perfect timing! Back to the Black Swan Pub after our hike and we all enjoyed a cool drink and each others company. A large group for this hike there were 24 of us. I hope to do a page today or tomorrow about this hike.

Chris - Uggh that really is horrible that your weather is still so crappy! Hope you can get a good price on your old car!! Cute story about the rats, they have the cutest faces and I bet there are lots of others who share Cait's love of her rats out there! My neck is feeling a bit better today, but still need to book this massage and get back to normal again. Yes Heather is getting larger, but she has not gained any weight the last few weeks although her OB is not too concerned about it. She is eating well and feeling good except for the discomfort of the pressure on her pelvis. Baby's head is low. I think she is getting anxious for this to be over with!

Nancy - I sure hope that the weather clears and warms up for you and Chris soon! No fun not being able to get out for your walk with Luther! Happy Anniversary to you and special man!! I hope you both enjoy your dinner together tonight and what a nice gift to each other to get new recliners and to reclaim your TV room again! 43 years of marriage is a rare thing nowadays you are an inspiration to other married couples!!

Rae - What a long wait for you and your DH to get his meds!! Sorry that you are having to deal with all this sickness! Hope that you got through your work load and that you were able to relax a bit! It will be interesting to see if the Mushrooms are the reason for your horrible sinus troubles, at least they are something that you can easily do without! Take care of yourself!!

Sharon - How fun to go back to an old haunt!! It is amazing how things change isn't it!! Nice that you could spend the day with your hubby while he worked!

I need to go out and water my new plants and the grass that we planted in the front yard. I got two more Rhodos to replace the California Lilac bushes that we pulled out. They will give the side hill so much more colour in the spring next year! Can't believe how fast the grass seeds are growing. Nice to have the front yard built back up to where it should be! All that shovelling of dirt will be so worth it! Hope to talk with DD today, but not Mason, he is in school today, guess it will soon be summer break and he will be home with his Mommy everyday. Sure hope he is a good helper with the new baby. Ok off to get a cup of coffee and make my bed. Hoping to spend lots of time here today, scrapping and catching up with comments. Have a wonderful day everyone

Nancy- today is our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. Happy Anniversary to you! Actually, 2 dear guy friends who live in Mississippi are in town today and asked DH to go to dinner. He hasn't seen these guys in over 9 months. One is a longtime (30 years) Navy friend and the other he has known for nearly 20 years. He declined and then told the kids and they both said- did you ask mom? Then he told me. I told him go with them. You rarely get the chance to hash out old Navy stories with them. DD and I are going to do something.

Not much else planned here.

nancy- Hockey heaven for you too!
Chris- sorry to hear about the weather.
Trudy- hope you had a good walk
Rae- hope you are feeling better

Good morning, ladies. The time is flying by. Darrell seems to be doing ok. I have to go buy a new thermometer today so we can accurately keep track of his temperature. He seems to be progressing about as expected. He is not moving much yet, just from the chair in the kitchen to his lazyboy or couch in the LR. His boss came over yesterday so I think the visit was good for him. I think he is bored now, as its been almost 2 wks since this all started. Hopefully there will be no complications and he can get back to work in another wk or two.

We both really enjoyed dinner last night. D loves cheese so I made a cabbage casserole (on my pinterest dinner board) with cream cheese, sour cream and cheddar. I added in hamburger, texm-mex spices and extra cheddar on top for browning. Yum. We have leftovers for today.

I'm hoping to hear from the computer store today to go pick up my repaired PC but if not, I hope they call tomorrow. I really don't want to go all wkend without it. I tried to load cs6 onto my small computer but am having problems with it so I need to get back onto my PC with PS CC loaded again. Fingers crossed I get this all sorted out over the next few days.

Chris - that is such a cute rat story.
Nancy - happy anniversary.
Sharon - happy anniversary.
Trudy - what great weather you had yesterday for your hike!

Gotta go, ladies and get to work. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
