This week is going by kind of quickly. I surprised myself a bit when I typed in "Thursday." I have nothing planned for today so it is going to be nice to get outside a bit. It's cloudy but should get over 70*. My plan is to clean out the small front garden and maybe start with the small strip of plants along the front of the yard. Every year, I have to shovel out buckets of the grit that they use on the snow/ice that gets plowed onto my lawn. I wish I could return it to the town, get a credit on my property taxes. :biggrin1:

Yesterday was kind of boring. I cleaned, worked on the puzzle with Caitlyn. She ran my errands for me after she babysat since she was in town anyway. Not to mention it was her fault that I forgot the bread at the supermarket. hah!!! I got to play with the rats a bit, they are so darn funny. When Cait has them on her bed, they run up to me, twitch their little noses and then scamper back under the pillows and again and again.

BTW Nancy, you are *genius!* I asked Gary to call the car ins. company about the windshield/mirror and yes! It is covered. It is a $100 deductible but that is way less than a new windshield. Hopefully, the mirror will stay in place and we won't need to replace it, but it is good to know. I really thought that since it wasn't due to an accident or falling branches that it wouldn't have been covered, so thank you for bringing that up!

Hugs!!

Nancy- Your friend's DD sounds like mine, at least with the feisty part. How fun your dinners must be with them. I hope that the sun comes out by you today but at least it won't be too cold. I bet you had a great night watching hockey and scrapping.

Kay- Whew, what a relief about PSE working. :frusty: Windows updates seem to destroy Gary's computer too. Not mine but his-- every darn time... and we never know why or what the conflict seems to be. How in the world is there no sleep mode???
My mom has similar issues with the people who plow their driveway in PA. She will call and call and call. Then my dad will call, and it's a miracle! They will call back.
Are there other companies to contact? Sounds like a bad business practice to do that

Trudy- are you feeling better this morning? I hope that whatever it is that it is gone by now. That stinks about not going on the hike but you are right, you will get there again. Woohoo for the new oven being installed with no problems. Boo about the Bruins.
Feel better!

Jean- Your yesterday day weather sounds like my today weather. Were you able to get outside a bit? Chores can always wait for another day, right? Yup, that is about right-- warp speed for the next two months and then by the time my b-day rolls around at the end of June, I am toast. ;)

Kay- every time I hear about Windows stuff like that, it makes me wish I could get a Mac... then I look at the cost and have to stick with them. Hope that the surgery helped your GDD and that she heals up quickly. How old is Great-GDD?

Karen- what a fabulous time to have together with the family, sharing stories like that. I have heard a lot about my mom's side, but so little about my dad's side.
Poor Joey, is he all better today? I was just looking at supplements for dogs yesterday, I had gotten an email from Nature's Bounty Vitamins. Jaida is always anxious but these seemed more for short term issues. I will see if I can find the link for you in case Joey need to go back.

Wet and cooler today. Getting out yesterday was going with DH to grocery and digging up dandelions in the yard. This afternoon is my art class and I'm happy with the progress of my new drawing.

Chris, no plans and warm weather sounds perfect for you. Enjoy.

Good morning - woke to fog which is supposed to burn off and temps may hit 70. i am not holding my breath. But it is getting brighter. Hockey was good last night. The Dallas/St Louis game got really almost out of control as the St. Louis goalie got really mad at the end of the second period and ended up with 2 penalties. Dallas ended up winning the game. The Hurricanes also won and are now one win from going to the 3rd round. Yes I can scrap while watching because there are time outs and commercials and long intermissions. You can always catch the replays if you miss anything. My Fios also allows for rewind so that makes it really easy. I finished the book American Wolf. It was a great book on the wolves reintroduction into Yellowstone and just how angry it made the residents of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. It still amazes me how the ranchers and hunters don't believe the science they just want the wolves decimated. The science shows that Yellowstone itself has become more stable and so many animals are benefiting from the wolves return. Wolves really do have a bad reputation and there has not been one recorded event of a wolf attaching a human which is not true of the other predators, cougars, bears even buffalo. I am just glad they are thriving in Yellowstone and I got to see and hear them!

Chris boring is not always bad. Hope you can have your time outside in your dirt! So glad you called your insurance Co. and glad that if needed if is covered.

Kay listening to the problems people with PCs have with programs makes me so happy to have an Apple computer. Apple is always good about making sure programs work with the operation systems. And now they are not even charging for the new upgrade to their new operating systems. That is the pits about the company not getting back to you about your yard. Hope you can find a new company! My DH is starting to have a cataract and wow it really does cause vision problems. Poor Granddaughter. Luckily I have heard from my sister that the surgery is pretty easy. Good luck to her.

Trudy so sorry about the headache. I hope you did not catch something! Sorry about more rain in Ottawa - why does it seem that rain comes to places that do not need it! Should be an interesting game tonight in Columbus and which Marchand comes to play.

Jean so glad to hear you are getting warmer! I always feel chores can wait LOL! Have fun drawing!

Kathe I hope you wrote down those stories. I am so sad that I did not get more stories from my relatives. I have the basics but why would love to have real stories.

Have a great day all!

Morning all! It is a bit more cloudy this morning but the temps are warmer than they have been in past few days. Yesterday I decided to pop some allergy meds and headed outside to work at some trimming and cleaning up down at the front of the driveway. So I grabbed the edger and did all along the sidewalk. It looks so nice and neat now! Then I sat down along the side of the driveway up to the garage and trimmed away all of the ground cover sheesh there was a lot of growth!! The sinus meds took away my headache, (or maybe it was the tylenol?) But then I felt fuzzy headed for the rest of the day Ugh!! I decided I would try out a painting on my new cradled birch painting panel and after apply two coats of gesso I picked out my colours and went for it. I totally love the outcome of this one and love the birch painting panel so much! I really need to get my Gary to make some of these for me!! So hopefully it dries well and I will get it to my etsy shop for sale. It looks more blue in real, not sure why it is coming out more purple looking? :noidea:

So I am feeling so much better this morning and no headache, still not sure if it is because the pollen is getting bad or not? Perhaps it was just a little something that I picked up? Who knows. I will be going to the pool this morning and really need to make sure I stretch out good before I do, my shoulder got all knotted up last time, I was bad and did not stretch first :mmph:

Chris - Wouldn't it be great if you could give back all that yuck that city needs to dump on the snow and ice every winter!! It will be great for you to be able to get outside for a bit and I hope the dirt therapy makes you happy! Lots of dirt therapy happening for the neighbours next to us, they are getting both front and back yards re-done by professional landscapers, its like watching HGTV next door lots of machinery and guys everywhere tearing everything apart. LOL How nice that Cait got your errands done for you and that you had some fun with the rats, they sound so cute!! So glad that Nancy was able to give such good advice about the windshield!! WTG Nancy!!

Jean - Have fun at your Art Class today!! Looking forward to seeing more of your great drawings on your blog! Ugh digging dandelions is not much fun, the darn roots are so deep down in the ground! Hope you got them all!

Nancy - Yes it will be interesting to see how the Bruins do tonight, its do or die and hopefully Marchand doesn't blow it for us again! He has not been playing like he was against the Maple Leafs, not sure why they are messing with the lines, why change what was working so well?? :mmph: Your book sounds interesting and I agree with you that the Wolves have been so good for Yellowstone!! Too bad if the farmers/ranchers don't like it! The wolves were there first and we must learn to co-exist! I think that we need to introduce more wolves here on the Island, we have a few but the elk population is exploding and they are everywhere destroying so much and they have no predators to manage their numbers. I don't agree with culling the population, but would like to see a bit more balance with nature! Hope you enjoy all the hockey tonight! Cheer loud for our Bruins please!! :cheer2:

Ok I better get busy with chores around here before heading to the pool, hope to look at the challenges today and get busy scrapping for a change! Have a great day everyone!

Morning, gals. Have been up since 6 AM. The Pest Control tech arrived before 8 and took did the spraying for this quarter. Only a few spiders... no ants yet thank goodness. After being cold night before last, I put the down comforter back on the bed yesterday. Slept much better so guess it is still too cold at night without it.

Need to do a bit of cleaning since DSon#1 will be here tomorrow or Saturday. The kitchen floor needs to be swept and mopped as I haven't felt up to doing it. Also need to find out if DD#1 is planning on a family dinner at her place while Jim is here.

Can't believe that iNSD is here... seems like it was just a couple of months since the last one! And all the new monthly May Challenges are here. Looks like lots of fun ones but will have to wait until next week to play. I want to spend most of my time with my son.

I made it over to the Post Office yesterday... only to find that the road was blocked at the light where we need to turn. They are in the midst of new paving at that corner. Had to turn around and go back a couple of blocks to get access to the shopping center and cut through the parking lot to get to road where the PO is. I stopped at the library [right next door to the PO] and picked up a couple of books. I had forgot to take the ones I have checked-out already, so will do that when I can find time.

BTW, I got a couple of calls this AM supposedly from PayPal about a charge to my PP account to my credit card and if I want a refund. It is a SCAM! If you get one - just hang up and don't press any number they tell you to do. Geeze!!!

Trudy, love that new painting on birch wood panel. Wow...it is fantastic!

Chris, glad the insurance will cover the replacement windshield. Think it has to do with it being a safety issue. In some states, you can get a ticket if you have a cracked/damaged windshield.
