More insanity!!! Is there ever a way to get around it? I don't think so.
This time it is my FIL-- Campbell genes (read: stubbornness) run strong. My ILs had a tree fall down and my FIL is trying to cut branches off of it and to replace a bracket connecting the electric wires to the house. Right now, the wires are dead, but WTH happens if they become live? Ugh!

We told them to come up here but they are insisting that they are all good. My parents still don't have internet/phone/cable but at least they have electricity.

When I was done with cleaning, Gary and I chatted with the kids- Scott's birthday is next Monday and I want to know when we can at least have b-day cake for him. He has plans this Saturday, Sunday is Leah's graduation, He is working all day/evening on Monday, and he is supposed to go to PA to help my dad with the yard on Tues/Wed. Then back to working 12-hours shifts on Thurs and Friday. He insists that it isn't a big deal but I guess Finelli genes are strong in me (I get this from my mom :pound: ) that I can't simply ignore his b-day.

The family then played Cranium which was really fun. The kids kicked our butts again. Scott joked that he didn't think that there was such a thing as "Sibling ESP" but now he is convinced. They guessed things that there was no logical way they should have. He even guessed one thing before she even started to draw. We decided that next time we play, we are breaking up that team to see if they are just as good separated.

Today Gary and I are bringing J and Floyd to the vet. Floyd needs more bloodwork and J needs an exam/vaccines. Should be fun. (not)

After that, I am going to work on cleaning out some clothes and my closet. It has been a long time and needs to get done. Might as well do that since I have no scrap mojo at all. Zip. Nada. Zilch.

Love to all of you!! HAGD!

Quick personals from me since I need to get in the shower before Scott does.

Trudy- hope that you had a great hike!

Nancy- glad that your area didn't get hit too hard, the road that Brendan uses to get home finally reopened yesterday afternoon. This is the same one that was closed for days during the last big snowstorm, You would think there would be no trees left to fall ;) Hope that you and Luther get to get out for a walk in between the raindrops.:rain:

Jean- Funny how things work out sometimes with growing up and different interests. My mom is a neat freak, *hates* all things dirt/bugs. I ended up the exact opposite. But yet- Scott is 100% like me. Nope, I didn't get the photo of W and the azalea and it is supposed to rain for the next week and by then, the flowers will have dropped. :(

Felis I really hope that Macho comes home soon.

I understand why you would be upset about the tree. I hate when trees are needlessly cut down too. I was looking at a photo of my house right before we bought it and showed Caitlyn the tree right in front that gave out the best vibes. I loved that tree and apologized to it when we had to cut it down.

Glad that it sparked a good conversation with your mom, at least. Thanks for the good thoughts for Floyd!

Speakignofblood work- Cait doesn't need to have the one test redone, there was an error in the lab and they reran it. Still waiting for the rest of her bloodwork to come back. My Rheumatoid Factor came back and it still really high, a bit less than what it was. It was over 70 last year and it is down to 5 this time. (It is supposed to be less than 16-- so take that with a grain of salt on how "good" that is bwahaha!!

good morning but the weather is wet and grey and should be this way all day! Not happy. If I wanted all this rain I would live in the Northwest LOL. It is green here but I still need some sun! Last night's hockey was so fun as the Vegas Golden Knights won. It was a close game and the worst was it started at 9:30pm my time. The Knights but on the best pregame show. They have a lot of help from all the shows in Vegas and it shows. Last night their Knight cut a jet in half. It was pretty cool. Now today I have the US playing the Chezks at 10 am. Much better time frame. The tournament is now in the win you keep playing lose you go home. I am counting on my team playing much better. Then tonight is the Caps/Lightning game. All fun!

Chris sorry the day was so stressful. It is hard when parents don't want to admit they need help! I am sure you will figure out the cake date for Scott. Looks like Sunday for the graduation will be the nicer of the weekend days so that is great. I have a wedding on Sat and it looks like rain and chilly. Have a good day today - hope the cat and dog do well at the vet!

Trudy hope the hike was fun!

Jean it would be hard to watch all 162 baseball games, I have way less in hockey. This week because of the rain and days off the Yankees have play just one half of one game. They were in DC playing the Nationals and they apparently could not stay the extra day to play the make up game as there were not enough rooms to be found for them to stay over. How weird is that. Much more fun to watch birds than garden!

Felis still hoping for news about the kitty. That is such a shame about the tree. Our town had this 200 year old oak that finally had to come down but they built a park and used the stump as monument and it is pretty cool actually. But it is sad that the owls have to leave. I love Linden trees and we have lots on our street!

Waving to Rae!

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies... it is very overcast here and a bit cooler, but I think that the sun will burn off this cloud and soon it will be a nice day! Yesterday's hike was very lovely, a place that I have never been to before "The Cowichan Lake Forestry Station"
clfrs_overhead.jpg

The Research Station, a centre for study of forest genetics, was once set up to demonstrate forestry science to the public. Although this is no longer the case, there is still some interesting signage there indicating what they did do and what they continue to do. We had lunch along the lake in the sunshine, it was a beautiful day!
A bit of an update on my sister's husband who is still in the hospital, seems there is so much damage to his heart that they really can't do much to help him. They are trying angioplasty today and then he will be sent home tomorrow. It doesn't sound good for him. I am going to get together with my other sister soon and get some meals put together for when they return home, so my sister will not have to worry about making a few meals at least. I can't imagine what she will have to endure when he is under her care, he will not be a model patient!

Chris - Yikes! Your FIL sounds like mine and that is something that he attempt to do too! Sure hope he completes his task without the power coming back on! You have at least offered your help and that is all that you can do! :gaah: What is he thinking?? Sure hope you can squeeze in some time with Scott to at least have birthday cake with him! He is one busy guy! Of course you have to acknowledge his special day, its what we do!! LOL Your kids are very connected for sure, doing so well at Cranium! I haven't played that for years, I should get it out next time the kids are home. Good luck with the Vet visit and with cleaning your closet out! Sorry that you are still having trouble with your scrapping mojo, hope it improves soon! Glad to hear that Cait doesn't have to repeat the blood work!

Nancy - Sorry you are not enjoying the :rain: hope that the sun comes out again for you soon! Wish I could have seen the pre-game show for the Knights, it sounds like it was very entertaining! You are having so much fun watching your hockey! Too bad that some of the games are on so very late at night! Hope you and Luther are able to get out for a walk when the rain lets up!

Jean - Glad to hear that it got dry enough for your DH to cut the grass! LOL Another day at the Zoo sounds like what my days are usually like. Today I am thinking of starting another painting, have been feeling the need to mess around with my paints again.

Felis - So sad to hear about the cutting down of the tree! Out here tree cutting was the way of life, but now there are more and more protesting this or at least trying to get the logging industry to at least do more responsible logging and it is much better than it was years ago! Still so sad to see some of the giant trees harvested though! Hope that your kitty will soon make its way home to you! Sounds like you had a very nice talk with your Mother, so nice to hear!

Rae - :hello: thinking of you and your family everyday

No swimming for me today, I will go tomorrow instead. I pulled a muscle in my leg when I was using my swimming fins the other day and I keep getting muscle spasms in that leg. So I will give it another days rest and perhaps leave the fins at home tomorrow. Looking forward to a lazy day today. This weekend will be very busy for us as its a long weekend and we will be hauling more mulch and soil to build up the front lawn in one corner. Hope to figure out what to plant in the far corner of our backyard and get to the Nursery too. It looks like the weather should cooperate for the weekend so that is very good news! Off to get more coffee, hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Good morning ladies, :bliss:
Today I'm most happiest woman at the world, believe me! My Macho is back home yesterday at the diner time. He is skinny and his fur is lost shine, also was very tired, but act normal, have appetite and this morning is even angry that have to stay inside. I tried to get vet appt just for any case, but they can't before Monday, so for now I'll just watch him more closely, because I don't think situation needs the stress that one travel to vet at capital will do to all of us. I'm so happy and relief and thank you so much! The collective mind and all good vibes and prayers that you send us did this!
And as a bonus, just to make the day perfect, it was the first episode of the new season of one of mine favorite TV series ''Humans''. I have one friend, we aren't exactly close friends, on my language we have different category for that, something like 'well known', we talk on many subjects and like to be together, but without to share personal information. Is that make sense?! So this girls, which is kind of friend but not exactly :) , like this TV show too. And her boyfrend is one of these TV maniac which has ridiculously expensive TV system and can catch not just local but also some of the European channels. So he PVR the series for us and after that we can watch it. I think they have some strange arrangement, he not spend time with her friends girls and she with his friends, but as I said we aren't close enough to ask her, and it's not my business at all. I'm grateful enough that she gives me chance to watch this show! And the the last night episode was really good.
So, yep, life was SO good yesterday! And today Friday is start sunny, even they predict rain later.

I'll post this on parts, because today we have plan powers turn off and I'm not sure for how long I will have connection. Sorry!

Trudy, this hike sounds really awesome! Especially because of excitement to be on new place! As you described your sister's husband he is very solid man, so she really will have trouble to serve him. Is there any programs for home sanitarian who to help her at the cares for the first few weeks? Brilliant idea to make few meals for her, definitely will be helpful! I hope your leg is better and you will can fully enjoy on this weekend with the kids!

Nancy, hope you'll have better weather for the weekend! Looks like you're enjoying the games no matter at what time they are start :cheer2:. On this level they are only games that you can watch on a TV, no local /on the your stadium/ ?!

Rae and Jean :high5: .

Chris, I hope that you'll can eat the Scott's birthday cake on the day, or at least to keep it at the refrigerator for some of the next days! Without party is OK, but without cake sounds kind of sad. Or maybe your parents will can make one small cake for surprised him, if he plan to spend more time with them than at home?! Great that Cait doesn't need to have the test redone, but I also hope that results are good! I think you was explain before that your Rheumatoid Factor is high, but you can't take the conventional pills, so I'm wondering are you tried some homeopathic creams, Dr. Bach or other alternative way, which could to relieve them?
