Morning peeps

Our last full day at Lake Orta, and we leave for the convoluted trip to Genoa tomorrow. i.e return the car to Malpensa airport, take the train INTO Milan where we get a train to Genoa. If you check a map, you'll see we are going east to get west. But dh likes trains so...

Yesterday was one of the not so good days, just to let you know that all trips are not perfect. DH's phone started losing its charge, so "he" found the address of the Apple store outside of Turin, and off we drove. Well after a lot of driving hither and yon in the outer suburbs of Turin, we finally found it at 1pmish, got an appointment for 3pm, and found out that because our US phones are locked, we couldn't just switch with an Italian phone. It was a long tense day - you know the kind when the gps screws up, and the driver is getting angrier and more frustrated, and the navigator wishes she were any where else except in the car. And she wishes she had found the address herself, AND seen it on a google map. There are several via crea, #10 s in the Turin area...ask me how I know! LOL

So...today is just a quiet lake day with reading, out to lunch and sitting in the afternoon sun, looking at a gorgeous lake.

ciao ciao!

hiya. well, Maureen, there's no beautiful lake in MY day. going to the dentist to have a filling replaced. thrilling. i always make dentists nervous because i don't get novocaine, and this new little dentist of mine is really a nervous type.

today is my "former" daughter's birthday. i made a card and sent it. no response, of course. so, i'll just try to forget. unbelievably, it does get easier as time passes. what does that say about me, i wonder?

well. sounds like this is a day for me to avoid human contact!!

hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning (afternoon!!) maureen and everyone!
And happy Thursday too. :)

It looks like it is going to be a gorgeous day today! The sun finally came out yesterday and it is going to dry us out today. yay!!!I even got to play out in the garden for a bit. Gary finally moved some extra siding from the side of the yard into the back yard and i pulled some lilies of the valley that were spilling out of the front garden into the place where the siding was. They will fill in real nice. Of course, I came in, found a tick crawling on me and have been itching ever since!!

(How many of you are scratching now too?? LOL)

Anyone have fun plans today? I am signing up for the lake this summer. My dad has been paying for our membership since Gary got sick. For $215, it is a great way to hang out for the summer. I really thought that Cait wasn't going to be interested this year, since mostly littler kids go, but she is all for it. I was going to get an Individual Membership if she didn't, I know I need a place to go and get away from my house and kids when school is out. hehe!!
The off to work, maybe some yard work, shopping in town with Cait for Scott's b-day and he is having friends over for band "practice." AKA sit around and be goofy while holding guitars.

Temptation on Thursday
I don't really have one, do you?

Phyllis- neither of my kids do novacaine either. They would rather a bit of pain that that big-a$$ needle coming at them! Hope it goes well, you don't want that dentist to be too shaky, ya know :becky:
I wish I knew what to say about your Former-DD, except that you are handling it way better than I would. I tend to be a "bit" clingy and it could get ugly. But you are doing what you have to do.... No use crying over spilt milk or bitchy daughters I guess. Either she is going to come around, or not, regardless of what you do at this point.. :(

Laurie- you should def. post photos of your gardens/yard. Trudy posted up some of her yard last year and she has some clematis to die for!

Eva- how are you feeling today? Bet a day of watching hockey was just what the dr ordered.

Thinking of you today Kristy. (((((((((hugs)))))))))

Trudy- I heart you especiually much today! I saw your sweet comments on my "Favorite Things" LO. But that isn't me, its Caitlyn. I hope that you are thinking that I look as young and beautiful as my DD! :pound:

I never had luck with zucchini either.I heard that you need to have a lot of plants, since you need male and female plants to fertilize the flowers to grow the veggie. Thankfully, it is one of the "cheap" veggies at the store so I snap them up- love zucchini. In face we are having sausage and zuch. over pasta for dinner tonight. :)

Super-quick prayer request for my brother. He was really sick and was sent for a chest x-ray. He has had these cysts on his lungs for years. But the dr is sending him for a Cat scan today to get a better look at them than the x-ray. We're not sure if the dr sees something new/different/bigger or if it is just more to get an update on them. TIA!

sending prayers out for your brother, Chris. i hope everything turns out to be OK. i don't think there's anything that fries a person's nerves like waiting for test results....

Chris, for some reason, ALL the flowers on my zucchini plants were MALE last year, except the one. dunno what that means. i wrote to Burpee and they said that they thought it was a pollination problem. but how can THAT be? do the flowers change sex if they're polinated?? it just sounded like a response from someone who had no idea what the prob was. but I WANT ZUCCHINI!! i usually make and freeze zucchini bread so that my hubby et al can have it over the winter. last year i had to BUY zucchini! who ever heard of THAT?

i like this idea!
Laurie- you should def. post photos of your gardens/yard. Trudy posted up some of her yard last year and she has some clematis to die for!

Chris, pick a day when we all post a photo of our gardens or even just our back yards!!

morning peeps- I am home today and the sun is shining- I will get pics of my spaces and post them. so far from my dining/kitchen windows I have seen sparrows, morning dove, yellow finches and a hummingbird- I have been up less than 30 min! I thought I had to go to town today, but that is next week. So clean and play day. Need to transplant my grape tomato- it is (mocking bird just showed up) outgrowing it's pot already.

Hugs Kristy and prayers

Ok lets add red winged blackbird and purple finches to the mix- love my bird feeders- they bring me such joy!

Not trying to be a pest, but there was a pot knocked over on the deck and the dog was not happy- kept sniffing, I know why now- I caught the bunny on camera that is hanging out under the deck!

Laurie, i like all those bird except mourning doves. their stationary all-day hooting and pooping drives me mad.

Eva, i gather your team won! ah, i remember the old days (when Mario Lemieux was our team star) when ice hockey went well into May. not anymore.

CLOSE YOUR EARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother Nature, Aunt Flo, Our Monthly Friend...................None of these names describe the BI^&H that is with me right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Menopause is a PIA...it is nice to get rid of FLO, but all the other "nice" things that happen in her place more than make up for her lack of presence. But after being gone for months....she makes a grand entrance and puts me flat on my back....bleeding so badly I can't even stand up without making a mess....cramping so badly that even Lortabs do not touch the pain.....COME ON NOW!! WTH???? Like I don't have enough shit going on in my life??????????

Well...maybe I should have told you to cover your eyes

I do have a tad bit of good news to tell.....I am praying that it's not just wishful thinking.............I took the kids to see Traci for a couple of hours on Sunday...she looks really good. I believe she is drug free now....and she is asking to start seeing the kids on a regular basis again. As you can imagine, I am very very apprehensive about this, but as her Mother, I want to believe it's real. Maybe, just maybe it's a tiny little start!

Okay....I am off to see what if I can scrap something today...since I am upright today.. but I will be in my chair all day...if possible.

Morning everyone...running late so trying to make this quick today.

Chris - so happy that you are finally getting the sunshine! And yes I do think that you are as young and beautiful looking as your daughter :becky: Thanks for the nice compliment on my clematis they are going to be loaded with blossoms again this year, should be out in bloom very soon!! Sending healing thoughts out to the Universe for your Brother today, hope all is well!!

Maureen - Nice that you are having a relaxing day today, sounds like yesterday was a bit nerve wracking !! Enjoy your lake day!

Phylis - Good luck at the Dentist today! Happy Birthday to your former daughter, I so wish that things were better between the two of you! But you are handling it as best you can, I think you are amazing!!!

Laurie - I just love the birds too, could sit and watch the hummingbirds at my feeder all day long! I am refilling it everyday now, they are very frequent visitors!!

Eva - Glad you are enjoying your hockey games!!

Nana Linda -

my goodness I think that perhaps you should tell that darn Auntie Flow to take a hike, kick her a** out and tell her to F***k off!!! Opps who said that?? :becky: Hope that your day improves sweetie!! Happy scrapping, perhaps you should scrap a page about your dear aunt flo??? Hmmmm or not!

Well wish I could spend so much more time here but I gotta :bolt: Have a great one everyone

Nana. my best advice is to GET RID OF THE EQUIPMENT!! i have NEVER regretted my hysterectomy over 10 years ago. no good can come of keeping ANY of it. and don't think of who is going to take care of all that you do if you're out of commission for a while. you need to take care of yourself FIRST. let them all figure it out for a few weeks. that's just me talkin'.... :tape:

Hi, Trudy!

OMG! The hockey is killing me. And Sweden's game hasn't started yet. LOL Three games, and in 30 minutes it's time for Sweden's game. Biting my nails, screaming ... and I've made over 10 inches on my sweater :)

what a gorgeous day so far- I have watered and found new growth on my strawberries, I finished weeding around my garden room so I can take pics. I am enjoying this day so much!
