Time to flip the Calendars! Can you believe that it is May? I sure as hell can't. This weather is just beyond crazy. It was only about 40* yesterday and again, windy and very rainy. Our poor basement is drowning. Sump pump and surface pumps have been going but not really keeping up with the flow. I don't know if the weather is making everyone in my house slow moving, but we all are.

(I think that is my new favorite smilie!!!)

You might have seen on FB that my BFF commented that it was the first time in 17 years that it rained on April 30. That is the anniversary of her baby who died when she was 25 weeks pg. (I think it was 25, might have been later, I honestly can't remember, but it was late :( ) The weather that day was warm and sunny, bright blue skies. And every year since, it was the same exact weather. It felt weird to have yesterday be so drastically different.

Looong day today for me; food shopping, hospital, social worker, blood work and IV, all before noon today. I am supposed to be meeting my friend for coffee too, I hope I can keep my eyes open for that!

Hope you all have a terrific day. Don't forget to check out the new May Challenges!

Oh, and it is May, and that means it is Lyme Disease Awareness Month which means all of my advocacy is going to come out like crazy.

I apologize for that in advance.
There was a discussion about "Pink-Washing" on a breast cancer forum and how much they hate it. I tried to gently show the other side, that most of us with Lyme would give our eye teeth to get awareness and exposure like that, even if it did paint a pretty pretty of a god-awful disease. Not much response, but I didn't expect one either.

Oh crud. I have to get running, I was hoping to get to personals... :(

Be back later (i hope!)

Morning Chris and the rest of the O fam- this is the one Thursday this month that I do not have anything scheduled- but will likely make a trip to town. I had fun helping my co-worker fix her son's photos. She realized after we were done, why the photographer charges so much (these were her own photos) for the prettied up photo package! Today since the sun is shining, I am going to clean, clean and clean- oh and scrap and run to town for groceries- maybe.

Morning! For once I'm here early as it's the first day of the conference with an 8:15 keynote. Dick is surprised to see sunshine this morning though a 30% chance of rain. His birding should be great but I'll be jealous.

Hope you have a good day Laurie.

Chris, you just have to keep plugging away on Lyme awareness. When I tell people about your family they are always surprised by its scope.

good morning - I still have a lake in my backyard. There was a partial evacuation of our town and the little creek at the end of my street was out of its banks and the street closed. Water in the basement was minor thankfully. It has mostly stopped and now just waiting for the sun to come out. And I cannot believe it is May 1. Today I get to do the last NJ Devils activity, a tour of the Rock and the NJ Devils locker room. Watched hockey late into the night. And now round two starts. Should be more awesome games.

Chris have a great day - sounds busy so rest this afternoon!

Laurie have a great day scrapping and hope the cleaning goes very fast.

Trudy I am ready to watch those Bruins!

Have a great day all!

Happy 1st of May everyone!! Hope you are all getting some kind of lovely spring weather!! We are supposed to get up to 23 Celcius today which converts to approx 74 degrees and I really don't have anything much to do today except a bit of cleaning, talking to DD and Mason on FaceTime and scrapping!! Hooray!! Well that is as long as I can sit in my chair long enough before my back starts to kill me again :mmph:

Chris - I tell everyone I know about Lyme's disease and my MIL's good friends DD has Lymes very bad case of it too!! Poor thing is very, very sick with it and like so many Dr's her's at first thought it was all in her head. Not sure what she is doing for treatment now? Slowly but surely the word will get out there and spread awareness to the rest of the world.

Laurie - Have fun shopping here today!! You are a good friend for fixing up those photos! That is a lot of work!

Jean - Isn't that nice that your hubby gets to have nice weather for his birding!! Hope you get a chance to go out in the sunshine for a bit today too!!

Nancy - Yikes, the water getting that close must be a worry!! So glad that it did not totally flood your basement!! Yuck!! Poor Laurie knows all about that!! Have fun watching hockey today! I will be watching with my hands over my eyes and peeking through my fingers, can you tell I dislike the Habs!! LOL

I need breakfast and another cup of coffee then I am off to see the challenges for this month. Enjoy the day everyone!!
