Happy Thursday! And yes!!! Its the last day before Spring Break for us.
Its not much of a break for me at all, I am working M,W,Th, F and I have Caitlyn's lyme dr appt on Tuesday which is an all day affair. I guess that I at least I don't have to do bus stop/babysitting so its a bit better.

Do any of you have time off after Easter? The kids? we know that Nana is sooo thrilled about this vacation. heh!! Any fun plans?

I have good news to share!
Scott's friend called last night to tell him that her step father a@@%$&^ was found guilty on all 5 counts. 40 years minimum in prison. Whew!!!!!! And nice to see the justice system work. You always hear when it doesn't work, so I like seeing the other side.
Phyllis- you would know way more than me, he has the right to an appeal. If he appeals, is it just a hearing before a judge to see if he has cause for a re-trial? I have no clue what the next step would be (They didn't cover that in Law and Order. )
I just do not want this girl to have to keep dealing with him. *sighs*
Anyway-- focusing on the good-- guilty guilty guilty!

Off to work today, then pick up Leah (scott's gf) and they have some picnic dinner plans with some friends. We are finally seeing some warm up- but I don't think it is *that* warm. But kids these days.... :D

How about all of you? Good plans for today? Scrap plans?

Have a wonderful one!

Ow Chris, that is great news he was found guilty!!
No not a real break for you no with all those days working, do you work always so many days in a week?

We have no real plans for this weekend, but we only have monday as extra day off with all the boys. Wes has to go to school tomorrow and after Easter there is no holiday for us, we have to wait a few more weeks for that.
Today I have to go to physiotherapy and Ben has to go to the psychologist, nothing else so for us a rather calm day ;) and already scrapped today with some new goodies and will do some more this evening.

Have a great day girls :)

Morning O fam! I worked late last night and stayed up late, just woke up. I have to head back into town at lunch time to work again and then to get my haircut. I have tomorrow off, only because I took it off. Now that we work for a hospital, we actually don't get any holidays off and have to use our time off pay to pay for not working that day- crazy -

Alegna- I saw on my tablet that Wes is getting casts for tight calf muscles. I am guessing he is a toe walker. Casting works really well to stretch out the muscle. Some of the kiddo's I work with have had that done.

Did anyone else see the moon- According to my calendar it it a worm moon - ewwww

I already hit some of you up yesterday, so I'm going to start with those I didn;t get to. :)

Nancy- did you see any sun yesterday? It was so weird, sun then rain, the sun-rain, then clouds, then sun again. At least there was a little bit of sun!

Angela- hugs to wes. I hope he gets his orange platers. I am guessing plasters are casts? Like this?
th

Do they have to do both legs at the same time and will he be able to walk? That is going to be a long 4 weeks for both of you. Good luck with it all. (((hugs)))

OhTery! Thank you for checking in, you have been on my mind so much. I am so sorry to hear how things have been for you and your mom.:(
I am really glad to hear that you got out and golfed. You need to take care of yourself and hopefully that helped you recharge a bit. Is your sister still in town?
Hang in there and I am sending good thoughts to you!

Trudy- WHAT??????? OMG, I cannot believe that they are going to hire new people?????!!!! That is just &^&%$^*&!@
How cute about Sadie and the underwear. Were you able to get a screen shot of that? That would make a great scrap page!

Sally- it seems like it wouldn't be Easter if I didn't get to see pics of your Easter dress progress :)
How was your visit with Cora? I saw some pics of her on FB-- she gets prettier and prettier by the day, and so smart, like her mama!!!!

Eva- how sad that you didn;t get any calls from your church friends. DO you send sympathy cars in Sweden? Maybe you will get lost of cards instead. Its not the same as a voice however. I have let many of my friendships dwindle- a lot didn;t understand Gary's illness, and a lot didn;t understand that to meet for dinner/drinks is not in my budget. I wish I hadn't let some of them go, others, *shrugs* no big loss. But I always tell my kids this-- Its better to have 1-2 close friends that you can count on no matter what, than 20 friends who couldn't give a shit.
(((Hugs))))

Astrid, that is lovely name! Do you watch Fringe at all? I am not sure if it would be in Germany or not. But there is a character Astrid and the scientist Walter never gets her name right. He calles her Asteroid, Astro, Aspirin. Now, I can't hear the name Astrid and not think of all of his wacky names.:D

Ok my lOvlies! All of you-- even those lurking.... Especially those lurking:)-- sending out hugs to all of you!!

Ow that's no fun you don't get any of those days off Laurie :( and yes Wes is a toe walker, they first thought is was because of spasticity, he has had a small cerebral hemorrhage in the first 2 weeks after his birth, but they notice this now, so we'll see if it works, I hope so because he falls a lot ...

Yes Chris I meant that, I wasn't sure if casts was the correct word and the translater said plasters so I used that, I don't know all the correct words in English LOL
They will do both legs at the same time and he should be able to do almost everything, only no showering or swimming ;) he also will go to school and all, so no real big changes

Oh it should work well- both the lengthening part and the weight of the casts will help teach his brain that he should be walking with his heels down. Just don't get them wet- that is the hardest part, unless they make them with fiberglass so you can. My son got the can get wet type on his arm when he broke it- and it did let the water come back out- it just "peed" all over until all the water was out- on his clothes, the furniture- arghhh. One of the kiddo's I used to work with had a series of casting done to lengthen her tight muscle- her mother was very pleased with the results. She is in first grade and it didn't slow her down a bit!

Chris, i believe that the only thing Scott would have to be involved with in the future is if for some reason the verdict was overturned and they had to do a retrial. it doesn't seem like there were any complications during yhe trial. wee, YAY on the guilty verdict. The guy is out of that poor girl's life forever, with any luck.

Terry, thinking of you and your mom and hoping that the golf and the heating pad made things bearable!

Trudy, you may have landed in the most bizarre job situation i've heard of! what is with the job ad?? it's unbelievable. the least they could have done is WAIT until they could see and evaluate the current employees! i'm so interested ( as you are, i'm sure...) to see how this all plays out.

Laurie, a day off on purpose sounds great!

Alegna, the casts sound a little complicated, but necessary, i guess. i hope he can get a fancy color, at least.

already did some more Easter baking this morning, then getting my shower and making the hour + drive to what was my old hometown to buy some fresh Polish sausage. 8 pounds of it! ( i'll freeze some for later.) the car will smell like garlic all the way home! yum!! i'll probably be missing in action until Monday.

have a beautiful Easter, everyone. be worthy of the sacrifice. :becky:

Morning everyone... Well off to work for what may be my last full day of regular work at the store??? Who knows?? I will be putting in very long days on Monday and Tuesday doing Inventory Ugghhh!! But then?? :noidea:

Chris - Wow! that is awesome news about Scott's friends $#@&% dad!!! Now if he was found guilty here in Canada, he would probably only get 2-3 yrs!!! Yes our justice system is abysmal !! Sorry you do not get much of a break from work this week, but at least you don't have to do the bus run! My plans for Easter?? Lets see, working in the backyard tomorrow, Costco run on Saturday (it should be a madhouse!!) In-Laws on Sunday for Easter dinner, other than that I hope to be able to scrap a bit for the upcoming challenges!

Angela - Hope that your son's colorful cast does the trick and lengthens those calf muscles for him! Isn't it wonderful that you can use a translator to post here!! So nice that you can join us everyday!!

Laurie - Enjoy your time at the hairdresser! Glad that you took tomorrow off, hope that you get to do something that makes you happy!!

Phylis - Yes it will be interesting to see what happens with all of us at the store, I just can't see them getting rid of us, so many knowledgeable people that have worked there for years, but perhaps the ad was just to hire a few new people, we have been very short handed lately. Won't break my heart if I get the boot, that way I can go out and be with my daughter longer after the baby is born. :becky: Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy the smells in your car LOL.

Better get some breakfast and get going, anxious to hear what I missed out on yesterday at work. The present owners were at the store yesterday, hopefully to explain what the hell is going on with all of us!!

Okay....so who saw the MILLION DOLLAR bus stop in Arlington VA? On the news this morning, they showed this new bus stop up there that cost a million dollars!! WTH?? It's got this fancy architecture roof, stainless steel seats, heated sidewalk, electronic bus stop info....and get this...they heat the sidewalk but they said the stainless steel is so cold right now you can not sit on them...HOW STUPID!!! The people in Arlington are pissed off that tax dollars are being spent this way....They said they can build 30 of the regular stops for that amount of money....RIDICULOUS!!! I say build a few more than 30 if you take away the salary of the idiots who came up with that idea :brick:

I really need to be running the govt......a lot of nonsense would stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :becky:

Well....today is the last day of school....if you don't see for me for a while....send help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pound: I have not planned anything yet...YIKES....I really need to figure out a few things to do with these kids while they are off. Pictures are definitely at the top of the list.

Good morning!

I took the afternoon off yesterday and went golfing with my buddy, Dr. O'Connor. We didn't get 18 holes in but just being outside and away from everything was refreshing.

Last night I took Tylenol PM since I didn't sleep well the night before. Got a good night's sleep and feel rejuvenated this morning. Ready to tackle the world. Really--ready to tackle work. I am so far behind! Off to visit my mom late this afternoon.

Chris-so glad that guy was found guilty. You are right--nice to see justice at work!

Nana-a million $$$ bus stop! That is insane!! Enjoy the days off with the kiddos.

Trudy--I'm anxious to see how work plays out. Transition is always so difficult. Wish you didn't have to go through this. Inventory---not fun!!!

Phyllis--send some of those baked goods this way! Your car smelling like garlic reminded me of this restaurant we ate at in Hawaii--garlic fries. After eating those things I am sure people could smell us coming!

I don't have much planned for Easter weekend. School gets out early today and there is no school tomorrow. Need to get a honey do list together for Craig. Maybe clean out our garage. It is a mess!! Other than maybe trying to get a round of golf in and grocery shopping, I'll be visiting mom in the hospital. I really need to find a little time for scrap therapy!

Good morning! Got some scrapping done and worked on my knitting. Got in a good walk. Chris I had no rain just sun and partial clouds. It was in the mid 50s and finally seemed like spring might come. And it is sunny now today.

Chris sounds like a busy week next week! So glad that they found that man guilty! Glad to know the system can work!

Phylis I bet your house smells wonderful with all that baking. I am really getting the feeling that the Penguins want that Stanley Cup this year. First Morrow from Dallas, then Murray from San Jose and now Iginla! Really that is way too many stars on one team with what you already have!

Nana that bus stop is insane! I nominate you to take over!

Trudy I hope your job situation works out!

Terry glad you had fun golfing! Hope all is going well with your mother and her rehab!

Angela good luck with the casts and hope he gets his orange color!

Eva so sorry you have not received calls. FB is fine as long as you know how to limit what you post and what you want to read and who you want as friends. I find it really a fun way to keep up with family who live in AZ while I live in NJ

Hope everyone has a great day!
