The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I'm starting today with my deepest sympathies for Kay and her family. I'm so sorry for your loss. When you think it is appropriate, please tell Leslie that the O-Fam is sending their love and prayers to her.
I can't imagine how hard it is that you won't be able to be there, but I know you will be in her heart.
:grouphugyay:

Did everyone else have a nice day?
Gary and I had a mostly successful morning together. "Mostly" in that his blood work went through fine and the car passed inspection. Not as much with my bloodwork. The doctor wrote a standing order to check my vitamin D levels every month but my insurance won't cover it. Two different tests, $300+ each every month? Nah----not happening. The silly part is that my appt was first, so I told the women that my DH was getting his blood drawn next and heads up that he might have the same issue. The second woman called him back and told him that they had me hostage. :cuffed: :giggle4:

I finished the faery house! I took some pictures, and as soon as I resize them, I'll show you. It looks so cute all lit up. Gary had to work some magic with the wires, re-soldered a few that were loose. I sent the pics to Scott and Sam, and they loved seeing it all completed.
When that was done, I worked on Weis stuff. I have a little more work to do on lesson plans. I finished the first week, ran the experiments here, and took photos to share with the director. We are doing the water cycle and clouds that week, so I have Baggie Water Cycles planned, Shaving Cream Clouds, and some cloud ID/cloud gazing games. Caitlyn asked me on her way out the door why I had a Ziploc with blue water taped to the window. It's the water cycle, silly! hehe
Week Two is Earth Day and composting so we will be doing some composting in a bag, maybe a worm jar.

What plans do you have for today?
My mom is coming up here to visit today and I think she is taking me to lunch.

Wishing all of you a wonderful day!! :hug4:

@taxed4ever I hope that your hike was wonderful and dry. I am jealous of your spring temps-- we had a snow shower yesterday afternoon, although Caitlyn told me her weather app said it might hit 80* here on Saturday! (Mine said 77* but I'll take either one)
Did you get to see any of the wildlife? How exciting to see orcas as long as they aren't near the seals.

@AK_Tracy I hope that you are feeling ok after your church cooking last night. Did you sit and not lift the heavy pans? I wanted to cook dinner yesterday so I set a timer and made myself sit down when it went off. That was a success. It took me forever to get anything done, but it worked. ;)

@vickyday sending you good thoughts that your stomach and head are all better today!
Do you have the recipe handy for the cilantro-lime chicken burrito bowl? That sounds yummy and I wonder if I can adapt the chicken part to tofu. I have chicken in the freezer and tofu in the fridge.

@BoatLady I love seeing those chunky monarch caterpillars munching away. I would be outside staring at them eating all day long if I lived by you :D
That sounds like a ton of work for the Sunday Tea. I hope you have no major plans next week so you can take it easy. (Not that you will but maybe it will be an option).
We have been sleeping with the sliding glass door open at night and I love it. We hear the pond frogs and the birds, it's amazing how active they are at night.
That sounds amazing. I cannot wait until it is warm enough to have the windows open.

xoxoxo

Good Morning everyone! Sending gentle hugs and my deepest Condolences to you Kay and your family! :grouphugyay:
My hike yesterday was so great! We saw all kinds of sea lions, no seals or otters, but 5 Orcas showed up just as we were arriving at the Narrows, it was amazing to see!! The sea lions didn't think it was so great though as they all scrambled to get onto dry land. They were a part of Jpod the transient orcas who prey on seals and sealions and other marine mammals, where as our resident Orcas (approx. 300 of them) only eat fish, mostly salmon. We did not see them hunting the sea lions, but heard that they have been spotted at Dodds Narrows quite often and it is becoming one of the best places to see the orcas coming up the narrows. None of our group got any good shots, I think we were all stunned by the fact that they were actually there :giggle4:. Here is a wonderful little video (you have to scroll down a bit to see it) of them coming up the narrows though. The sun came out for our hike and stayed out until we all returned to our vehicles and then the skies opened up and it poured rain for the drive home. Glad I took my extra set of boots to wear home, mine were covered in mud. It was a glorious 7km hike and so good to be back out in the fresh air and chatting it up with my hiking buddies! Heather is calling so I will come back in a minute or so .

@BrightEyes Kay I am so sorry to hear about your SIL. :grouphugyay: Prayers for you all as you go through this time of grief.

The doctor wrote a standing order to check my vitamin D levels every month but my insurance won't cover it. Two different tests, $300+ each every month? Nah----not happening.
Wow that is crazy for a test. Is the low D from the Lymes? Do you take vitamin D? Its crazy how much d is needed in a body and. winter really can deplete the levels.
@AK_Tracy I hope that you are feeling ok after your church cooking last night. Did you sit and not lift the heavy pans? I wanted to cook dinner yesterday so I set a timer and made myself sit down when it went off. That was a success. It took me forever to get anything done, but it worked. ;)
I feel good. Thanks for checking on me. I did take two different times to sit down and just put my feet up for a moment. I found I cant walk fast which is annoying. I was trying to power through the grocery store and the hard steps were jarring my legs too much. so I had to slow down and I just wanted to scream. I dont putter in the store, I get in and get out. I'm glad you set a timer and took breaks too! Its important.
5 Orcas showed up just as we were arriving at the Narrows, it was amazing to see!!
This would have been so cool!!! I'm so glad you got to see them.

Yesterday started out cool but ended up so beautiful. It was 52*F Driving home at 8:30p.m. the sun set was fantastic, except it was right in my eyes and I couldn't see anything at one point. I stopped at an overlook and got some awesome photos. One shows the local mountain steaming. We're watching to see if it will blow or not. I used my squeezey suit last night for the first time and oh it was nice and painful. I could pinpoint every cut. But the reduced swelling before bed was worth it. Today is new glasses day! I get my prescription sunglasses and I cant wait!!!

Have a wonderful day Ladies!

@BrightEyes I'm so sorry to hear about your family's loss. My prayers are with you and your family at this time.

@faerywings That price is ridiculous for a test! I hope you can get your health issues figured out.

@taxed4ever How neat to see orcas! I think that would be amazing to see.

I'm finally home from conference and can catch my breath a little bit. I learned so much while there but as a very new buyer, it's a bit overwhelming at times with so much information coming my way. I'm a bit behind in my scrapping duties, at least I consider myself behind. If I have kits sitting in my folder unused, I'm behind! I could kick myself for not taking more pics of the hotel we were at. It was beautiful and I could have made a layout! We stayed at Chateau on the Lake in Branson, MO. I didn't get a chance to explore Branson as were busy every night but I plan on going back for a weekend with hubby so we can explore. In other news, my son and his fiancé adopted a cat named Pickles. My husband has given them grief in our family text because the name doesn't match her since she isn't green. He's the only one that thinks he's funny! LOL As I sit here, I'm listening to my travel agency weekly meeting. Always tons of stuff to learn no matter what I'm doing. In closing, I hope everyone has a great day!!

Well my couple of minutes turned into over an hour :talk: sometimes we can chat it up pretty good! So nice to face time with my DD so often! Things are good with her family but they are supposed to have a big ice storm roll in for the weekend Ugh! I need to get busy with some colour play goodies and get them posted today. So on to personals...

I did have a very nice day! Thank you very much!! My vitamin D levels are probably down too, but it is very common for people who don't get the sunshine hours in the winter. $300 a month for lab work??? There is no way I would pay that either!! We have never had to pay for blood work ever.
I finished the faery house! I took some pictures, and as soon as I resize them, I'll show you. It looks so cute all lit up. Gary had to work some magic with the wires, re-soldered a few that were loose. I sent the pics to Scott and Sam, and they loved seeing it all completed.
I saw the photos of your faery house, I just love it! It is so cute with the tiny little lights! I bet Scott loved that you got it all done and had the patience to do it! :lovey3:

How nice to be taken to lunch! Enjoy your time with your Mom today!!
I stopped at an overlook and got some awesome photos. One shows the local mountain steaming. We're watching to see if it will blow or not.
I can't wait to see your photos!! So you have an active volcano?? That kinda scary!!
But the reduced swelling before bed was worth it. Today is new glasses day! I get my prescription sunglasses and I cant wait!!!
Ouch, but hey if it helped the swelling than it is worth it! That is something I wish I would have gotten the last time I had to get new glasses, perhaps I will get the sunglasses at my next appointment. So nice to be able to read while sitting in the sun without having to change glasses to do that!
In other news, my son and his fiancé adopted a cat named Pickles. My husband has given them grief in our family text because the name doesn't match her since she isn't green. He's the only one that thinks he's funny!
I love the name Pickles!! So fun to say! Yup sometimes my DH is the only one who thinks he is funny too :giggle4:.

Waving hello :wavinghello:to everyone else that pops in here today, I hope you are all doing well! Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! :bye2:

The faery house is so cute! Now that we have the car back, depending on what the final numbers are, I might be able to look at those little houses again! There are tons of different houses!
$300 a month?!! Yeah, I would have to agree.....wouldn't happen! I think that is a little overkill!
Your HS lessons sound so fun!

Unfortunately the stomach and head are not much better today! This, too, shall pass......eventually!
Here's the recipe for the
Sheet Pan Cilantro-Lime Chicken Burrito Bowl
I think this recipe is for 6 servings.
Ingredients
2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into 1⁄2 -inch cubes
1 orange bell pepper cut into 1⁄4 inch thick strips
1⁄4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 lime (for juice)
1⁄4 cup olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons salt
2 pouch (8.8oz per pouch) cooked white rice

To Freeze and Cook Later
  1. Label your freezer bag with the name of the recipe, cooking instructions, and “use-by” date. (Three months from when you prepped the meal.)
  2. Add all ingredients to the freezer bag.
  3. Carefully remove as much air as possible, seal and freeze for up to three months.
To Cook in Oven
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 ̊. Line two sheet pans with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the frozen meal onto the sheet pans, breaking it up with your hands if you can.
  3. Roast for 45-60 minutes, using a spatula to break up ingredients and stir every 15 minutes until chicken is cooked through. (If the meal is fresh or thawed, you can decrease the total baking time to 30 minutes.)

It was VERY good! I laid some frozen broccoli on top of the rest of the ingredients before popping it into the oven. YUMMY! Mark ate his on a soft tortilla shell.

We have loved every recipe!

Good Afternoon,
@BrightEyes praying for you and your family as you mourn the loss of your dear SIL. Praying especially for his dear wife!

Still not feeling the greatest today. The stomach is a tad better, but not much. The headache is just a dull ache that won't go away!

Worked with another CP product to keep my mind off of my aches and pains, LOL! I need to work on my ATCs for the last couple of days.

Did some church paperwork this morning getting ready for the end of the month and beginning a new month. Wrote checks for pastor's salary and the cleaning lady and mission checks for April. Made appointments with the Terminix people for Monday and Friday of next week so I can be at the church when they come. One will need to go inside the buildings and one will just reset the traps outside.

Other than that I'm waiting on my granddaughter, Abby, to come to spend the night since she doesn't have school tomorrow. It is a teacher's in-service day, I believe. Not sure what time she will be here. Changed the sheets on the spare bed where Noah slept last weekend so she can sleep on a fresh bed.

Really chilly out today. Only 60 right now with a very cool breeze!

That's it for me. Time to take some more Tylenol!
Have a good afternoon!

Thank you all for your love, caring and condolences. I had passed them along to Leslie yesterday. This morning I made Max's Memorial LO and sent it to Leslie for her to use wherever she wishes. Have texted/chatted with the daughters and both sons today. Waiting to find out when the funeral plans are finalized.

So you have an active volcano?? That kinda scary!!
We have several in the area. They're not scary as they are far enough away that all we have to worry about is ash. We have a 50/50 on if it blows toward us or another town. Its fun to watch and. see if it smokes or not. Thankfully I dont have travel plans right now so hopefully it either goes off before May surgery or settles down and behaves. They're saying when not if, so I am hoping sooner than later.
