Good morning, O-zies! Brrr! It's frigid this morning but at least the sun is shining. My hiking buddy and I have been debating whether to register for a hike this Sunday. It's supposed to pour all day on Saturday and it rained on and off yesterday so it might be a muddy mess. The weather is so weird it's making it hard to make the call for what we want to do.
I have pics to share of the "Living room" -- I am still not sure what to call it- and the updated bathroom. It's hard to see the colors but the LR is blue gret and the bath is all shades of white and grey.

Work was fun even if we were out in the rain the entire afternoon. The kids were excited to look for lichen and we spent time building shelters out of sticks against a tree. The kids also adopted trees in the picnic grove and we found sycamore seed pods that had broken open. That was pretty neat. The sycamores are the neatest trees too.

I am cleaning for my friend today and painting in Cait's LR so a full-ish day ahead.

And... I am running late and I am not sure how that happened.

Hugs!

@vickyday No grandkids for me. :( None of the kids want kids of their own. Hopefully, my nieces and nephews will want them or I'm going to be out of luck *G*
You'll get back to walking more and more and hopefully get up to where you were before- you got this!! Did you walk with Ilene? That would be good for both of you-- exercise, fresh air, and company ♥

@bcgal00 Welcome back Rae!! So sorry to hear that you are not feeling well, but that seems to be part of the cruise experience. It's lucky and incredible that you don't feel sick *on* the cruise. Wish it didn't happen at all.
I can't wait to see the photos and hear all about it, it must have been another wonderful adventure.

@Cherylndesigns No leash laws? Wow! You can get fined for not having your dog on a leash and not picking up after them.
Ugh ugh ugh about the certificates! I had that issue at one point with my birth cert. It's a Register Of Live Birth and the actual certificate was at the county and it was a crazy mess until we figured it out.
Sending you lots of calm vibes as you deal with all of this ~~~~
How was the bookstore?

@BrightEyes I have to do the week three AJ challenge, I feel so far behind. Next week should be quieter and less stuff going on so I hope to catch up then.
That is such a smart idea to keep an eye on your BP since you had that stress of your SIL. I'm so glad it didn't go up.

@pachimac Susie-- I feel your pain- I ran the vacuum the other day for the first time in forever and it doesn't even matter, everything is still a dusty mess.
I cleaned a lot of houses with laminate and that stuff is awesome. A damp mop is all you need. I like the mops with the refillable spray bottle attached and the washable cloth. I can't think of any brands off the top of my head. Mine is red so maybe it's a Rubbermaid? I'll look at mine and my friend's this afternoon-- wait-- his is a Swiffer with the pre-mixed cleaner. I prefer mine where I can mix my own concentration- if my floors are extra gross I use a higher amount of cleaner to water or I can just use water if they feel sticky from any residue.
My instant pot is also a slow cooker if you want something with more uses. I love my IP although I still need to crock pot for things that are too big to fit in it.

Ugh sooo late! xoxoxo

Everything looks so nice! What about the bedroom? Are they going to use Cait's? Any redecorating going to be done in there?

AWW! Maybe the kids will change their minds about having children later on! I hope so! Being a grandma is such a wonderful experience!
No walking with Ilene yesterday. Her legs were sore from walking up and down steps at her son's house this weekend. It probably would have done her some good, but she would not!

Good Morning!
Hubby left for work early this morning and I was up at 6:30!
46 feels like 41 at 8AM with nothing but sunshine and a high of 63 this afternoon! WOOHOO! Yesterday it reached 68, I think! It was wonderful walking, but I was pushing against the wind on a slight up-hill grade some of the time! I walked 2 miles in 30 minutes! WHOOP! I thought about stopping after 1 1/3 miles but pushed myself to do 2 more laps! Today my back is a bit sore. But I'm glad I pushed myself! So, I will let my back rest today and walk again tomorrow!

Waiting to hear from Ilene. We may go to COSTCO today. And that will involve eating at Olive Garden!

I took Ilene to get her van yesterday from the shop. Then we drove to the restaurant up the street a couple of miles. She went in and got us a table while I went to the shop and picked up Mark and Noah. I should have taken a picture of us, but got side tracked. We all ordered breakfast since it was around 10 a.m. After we ate, Ilene followed me to the shop to drop Mark and Noah off and then we came back to the house here. We played 3 games of Qwirkle and then she went home to finish her laundry from her weekend with her kids. That is when I left for my walk and began my walk at 2:12 and finished at 2:48. So, it actually took me slightly longer than 30 minutes to do 2 miles. That's OK. The weather was perfect!

@Cherylndesigns I got the Balanced Gut Tincture yesterday from Nicole's Apothecary! But I need to go back and read the instructions again as it says to "use as needed" and I thought it was just a daily supplement type of thing. I want to make sure before I actually begin using it. And I will probably use a smaller dose than suggested for the first couple of times to be sure my stomach is going to tolerate it! I'll let you know!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Morning, all. Guess with all that was going on with son-in-law this week - my mind was a scattered mess. I uploaded my Tic Tac Toe challenge LO to the OS gallery and other galleries on Monday..... but forgot to post it in the challenge!!! :crying1: :rotfl::lol23:Discovered it yesterday!!! I usually post to the challenge just after putting it in the gallery but for some reason I didn't get it done then. Oh... now I remember - I got the call from DD#2 about S-in-L about the same time!! No wonder I messed up.

I heard from DSon#1 yesterday. They will be back in the states on March 27th. He is not sure when they will be here at my house - but probably around April 1st. I am really looking forward to their visit. I was teasing him that I already had a couple of chores for him to do.. and he said he was up for them!! :D

We are still dropping below freezing at night but getting warmer in the afternoon - got to 60* yesterday!! The humidity is less and I had to change out of my fleece PJs into a cotton nightgown before I went to sleep last night!! That is usually a sign that spring is on the way... :banana3: Looked out and saw green leaves poking up through the dried leaves in the daylilies pots this morning!!! Will wait until we stay above freezing at night before I pulled the dead leaves out. And the peach tree is budding!!! Signs of spring everywhere now!!! Whoo-whee!

@faerywings thanks for sharing the photos of the bathroom and the kids' living room!!! Looking so good. I know you are glad to have that done. Sounds like the walk with the students was lots of fun. And you are learning along with them!!

@bcgal00 Welcome back from the cruise!! So sorry you got sick when you got home. Seems to be par for the cruise. I loved seeing the FB photos while you were there. That was an adventure of a lifetime.

@Cherylndesigns Hope you had a good time in town. Hope you get all the papers, birth certificate, etc. Our marriage certificate has a seal but not a raised one!!! As I recall... it took about a month to get the appointment with SS office, too.

@vickyday Glad you helped Ilene get her car and had a good lunch with her and your DH and Noah. Wow, you go girl.. your walking is outstanding!

Time to get a shower and get dressed. HAGD

Good morning ladies. I am feeling a bit better today, the headache isn't as bad, but if I'm not substantially better by Monday I'll pop into the clinic for prescription for inhaler (I needed that last time I was sick like this) but I might not need it, I seem to be bouncing back quicker this time. I loaded my photos and went to start the backup with backblaze, only to find that I hadn't ticked the photo EHDs for backup before so now have that running. Today I'll start culling photos in lightroom. This trip I took a lot of photos with my phone, I found the iphone 15 pro max worked really well, although of course (you know me, I take a billion photos LOL) I still took a fair amount with my two travel cameras. I think I took about 3000 with my phone and about 2000 with my cameras. Many are similar so I won't need to keep them all.

We are back in winter mode here. It was in the 50's when we left but now back to 20 and snowing, got about 3" so far and another 6-8" coming over the next few days. Remi is thrilled. I'll take her over to the field for some ball play later. I don't think I'll feel up to walking around much for a bit so I'm thankful for the field where I can park, stand beside the car and then throw the ball for her. There is so much open space there, it is a great spot for the dogs.

Our fave dog park (beside the river) has closed off half of the park with netting so we won't be able to access it until the fall. It is because of the endangered barn swallow bird species and their need to be undisturbed in their nesting area. They are nesting along that part of the river, so we won't be allowed back in until the fall. I'll have to find another good spot to take the dogs swimming.

I enjoyed one cup of coffee this morning but then switched back to my ginger tea, my stomach still isn't back to normal but definitely getting better. I'm going to get a refill, take a shower and see if I can get some unpacking done.

HAGD everyone.

Gooe afternoon,
It's It's 66 right now, going up to 69. Yesterday was a little cooler, but not much. I wore a long sleeved shirt over my t shirt and was very comfortable.

Chris @faerywings the rooms look beautiful, and that color does make them look larger and very airy. I love the color they chose. Especially paired with white, gray is beautiful. No roaming dogs last night - so no barking inside. I slept all night. No, there are NO leash laws, (at least not where we live - there may be in the bigger cities). In FL, they were so strict we had to carry "poop bags" with us at all times. They actually had a "poop station" by the lake where you could deposit your "gifts". That was super handy. Somebody came every day and emptied that. Cats aren't even allowed to run free, but some did anyway. One of the instigators (the smaller dog) has gone with his owner to Texas for a few days, so the big one apparently found another playmate, because we didn't see him all day yesterday. Remember, we live in the middle of nowhere. :lol23:Dogs run loose in the town near us, too.

The "consensus" of "us" seem to think the marriage license will be ok - Kay @BrightEyes thanks for letting me know that yours didn't have a raised seal on it, so that eases my mind. It HAS a seal on it, however. I sure hope that is satisfactory. This has taken a little over 2 months, by the time I actually talk to them. January 22 to April 4th. My appt is at 9 am so I'll have to get up extra early to make sure my "morning head" is on straight. That doesn't typically happen until about noon. :lol23:
;
Chris and Kay, our trip to the bookstore in Tulsa was wonderful! The man who owns it was a walking encyclopedia of all things herbal and had a whole room full of them. Vicky @vickyday Feverfew helps with bad headaches and migraines. I had forgotten about that one. He had Feverfew Tea all ready to put in a tea diffuser, or in the small teabags that I get on Amazon. Glad you got your tincture. Tell me what kind you got again. We hardly looked at the books, we were too busy with everything else.

This guy gave us 3 double-sided sheets of the teas and herbs he carries. He also had tinctures and essential oils. I bought some sage essential oil. Sage is an air cleanser and I was going to buy some more sage candles, but he told me how to save money. He asked me if I had any plain white, unscented candles and I said yes. He told me to burn them until they had a pool of wax, then add 3 drops of the sage essential oil and that would be all I needed. I burned two of them last night and I could really smell the sage. It was quite an experience if you're into that sort of thing, which we are because it works. My tea mixture that I drink at night is proof positive.

Welcome back, Rae.

Hugs to all.

You sound like me. If I'm doing something and get interrupted/sidetracked.....the task may or may not be completed! ;)
Yes, I enjoy being able to help Ilene! I always think.....I may need someone's help one of these days! May? No, probably will need someone's help, for sure!
I may have pushed the walking a bit too much! I've got a bit of a sore back today! But, it didn't kill me, so it will only make me stronger, right? ;)

So good to hear from you again, Rae!
I really despise having to weed through all of the photos, don't you? But, I mainly use the Bird-watching setting on my camera. My old Nikon took a burst of 5 pictures. My new Nikon takes a burst of 10 pictures! So, I go through them all to see which burst I like the best! It's a love/hate thing for sure!
How neat that they are keen to the need to protect the barn swallows!
Welcome back! And, hope you feel better real soon!

It's called "Balanced Gut Tincture" and I'm nervous about trying it now that I have it! I'm not used to taking stuff like this and I'm nervous about what it might do to my stomach! I think I will try half a dose at bedtime tonight. What do you think? That would be about 1/2ml (20 drops).

Vicky, if you're nervous about taking it, don't take the full dose right at tirst. I have good luck with everything I've tried, so I wouldn't be afraid to take the whole dose. That being said, this is all new to you so start with a half a dose, just to see how it reacts. I'd be willing to bet that it's going to help you though. Remember, these remedies are hundreds and some thousands of years old. We're fortunate now to have these people who devote their lives to helping people through herbalism. Let me know how a half dose works for you. I'll look it up tomorrow and see what's in it (unless it tell on the bottle. I'm just curious.) Sorry I'm just seeing this - I've been gone all evening.

I did half a dose at bedtime. No problems, seemingly. I will do another half a dose around noon today and another half at bedtime. If I seem to be tolerating it, I will try a full dose tomorrow.

You have probably already looked up the ingredients but they are:
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor or Coriolus versicolor), Plantain (Plantago major), Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra), Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis), Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus)
Other Ingredients
Purified Water, Organic Ethanol (35%)

It burned going down, I assume from the ethanol! But the sensation disappeared quickly! I was afraid to kiss Mark for a bit because I thought he might think I had been drinking, LOL!

I'm familiar with all of them except the first two ingredients, but I looked them up and they're in the same class as the others. They're also good for calming - and general immune system health. The ones I'm familiar with are all good for the digestive system. If it burned a little, squirt some in a small glass of water and stir it up and drink it instead of just squirting it straight into your mouth. That's the great thing about tinctures - there are a variety of ways you can ingest them. If you drink tea to help you sleep, you could even put it in there.

I will try squirting it in some water tonight.
Is the tea you drink at night caff or d-caff? I'm trying to stay away from caffeine and sugar! I've been drinking nothing but water now for about 4 weeks! I use Tylenol pm every night because I don't sleep very well and because my hips hurt when I sleep on my sides, but I cannot sleep on my back or stomach!

Oh girl, it's decaff! I'd be happy to share my recipe with you if you'd like to try it. ALL of the herbs I use are available on Amazon. I buy the large quantities and they last forever, but they might have smaller quantities. I have NEVER slept before - I have trouble going to sleep - this puts me in la la land. You have to give it about 30 minutes or more - mine takes about an hour to really kick in. I came up with it by researching on Nicole's website. LOL

PS: I've had trouble falling asleep since I was a child. Chuck saw me suffer for years and he used to say that I should sell my "concoction". He said if it worked for me, it would work for anybody.

Hello Ozies.

Sorry it's 8 pm my time and I'm just getting in here. I've had a bad day. I know I'm going to have them now and again and I woke up crying this morning. I stayed up for awhile, then after taking care of the critters, we all went back to bed and I didn't wake up until about 3 PM. It's been a strange day.

Hugs to all.

I still have those days sometimes, Cheryl! Even being remarried! My girls get weepy sometimes with missing their dad and it sets me off! :hug2:

You don't even know what triggers them, do you? I was trying to tell Ava something today and I just started crying. I guess it won't ever end. Willie Nelson has a song that I love "Something You Get Through" that really sums it up. "It's not something you get over, but it's something you get through". :hug3::hug2::hug4:
