Happy Thursday and I am in a good mood today! Mark your calendars, its a miracle!!!
I think the stress of having Scott's part in the trial over has been a huge relief. The news meds I am on have also been a miracle to my sleep issues. *And* i am not working today, my client rescheduled *again* but I took advantage of the situation and I am meeting my BFF for coffee this afternoon. On top of that, its our friend's birthday dinner- pizza and drinks with my neighbors. Its going to be a good day! Yay!!!!

Scott did great. He decided that he did not want Gary and I in the courtroom, which was fine with us even if it was just another moment when I realize that my baby is growing up into a fine young man. Bittersweet, right? He said that the only weird thing that happened when he was on the stand was that the defense attorney asked him if he knew that his friend was molested that night before she texted Scott. That was something he did NOT know so it was really odd that the defense would bring it up. Maybe he knows that the the "man" did all of this stuff and he is trying get a Guilty verdict??

Scott invited his friend over for dinner last night too and since both of their testimonies were done it was ok for them to talk. She was very open about it and I told her I was so proud of her and how strong and brave she is. She said that she couldn't have done it without Scott and I hope that Scott keeps that with him forever. Its like a bit of "Its a Wonderful Life" to me. If not for him, this man might still be hurting this girl and her younger sister. Scott helped stop that and he really should be proud.

So that is my yesterday. If I could just get the weather to behave, I be happy as a pig in ... well you know.

Morning O fam- Chris sounds like yesterday went well. Wow- proud of Scott and you guys for allowing him to do the right thing. I got new meds- too bad they never called to tell me. Feeling much better and today is my regularly scheduled day off. I need it. Housework to be done here too, and bill pay- yuck. I still have not cleaned the kitchen/dining dump place and must do today. I will have energy though because she put me a mini steroid pack to help my aching lungs- always makes me have energy and doesn't impact my sleep. So I need to get my self moving so I do have play time later today!

Terry - keeping up those hugs and prayers
Asa & Alegna- nice to see you in the dailies

Everyone else I did not mention by name- have a wonderful beautiful second day of spring/fall depending on where you live!!

How good to hear that it went ok with the trail Chris!

Glad you're feeling better Laurie!

our day is unfortunately not so good, my husband lost his job again, I have more and more problems with my neck (possible neck hernia) and in addition I have bronchitis. Ben also has a bad day with big temper tantrums and at school he cycled away and shouted that he would not come home. I was glad he did come home, but o what a day :( and we are only half way ...

noooo. defense attorneys don't work like that.... what he may have done is open up an avenue for the defendant to appeal. sounds like Scott did great, though. i can understand him not wanting you guys there. in a kind of reverse sort of thing, do you know that in all the years my hubby has been an attorney, i have NEVER gone to see him in action. i kept feeling like i was going to jinx him!

Asa, great seeing you here!

Laurie, do you have bronchitis, too? or are the steroids just to calm things down? hope you're feeling much better.

Terry, i am so sorry to hear about all that's happened with your mom. can she move around at all? i guess not, with the new problem with her hip. do you think they'll do the surgery? it's the kind of situation i worry about, with the new way of thinking in medicine. will they tell her that, since she has cancer, there's no reason to do the hip operation? where would that leave her? this is so awful. hugs to you. and prayers for both of you.

the garage has my car today, so it's House Arrest for me. i'm going to make bread for Easter and freeze it. Easter bread is an all-day affair, and it can all go terribly wrong at any point in the process. if that happens, i will cry. a lot. then some laundry and vacuuming and, you know. the usual. :drama: :yawn:there still is nothing in my head and heart regarding making a page or two. every time this happens, i wonder whether it's The End for my scrapping. :confused:well, i'll just wait and see....

Enjoy Thursday! at least it's not Monday!!

Alegna, we posted at the same time. hugs, dear lady. i hope things get better for all of you soon. why do we always have to be so strong??

Phylis- likely not - coughing usually comes from a throat tickle- but stronger abx should take care of any lung/sinus issues- when an asthmatic gets a cold they are more likely to have their asthma symptoms increase- so I am always on the watch for that.

Alegna- my coughing is bad enough but to have neck problems as well - yikes. Praying for you and your family!

Morning all... had a disappointing day yesterday, after going out to get some Easter things for the Grandkids, my son called to say that he is being deployed AGAIN!! This time he will be gone for 56 days. Still waiting to hear exactly where, but they were wanting me to come and help out over the Easter holiday. :hurt: There is no way I can go with the take over of the store happening and inventory going on and my girlfriend at work is away on a cruise and I'm the only other one that knows how to do certain things while she is gone!! :hurt: I feel like such a bad Grandma (Mother) !! I'm letting them down when they need me!!! Hubby can't go either as too many are already away where he works. The kids say not to worry, they have it figured out, but ohhh I feel so bad

Chris - so glad that it went well at court for your very grown up son!! Feeling full of pride for you all!! Have fun with your BFF today and enjoy your pizza and beer later on too!! Love your pig in the poop pic!!

Laurie - Glad to hear that you a feeling better! Enjoy your day off to get caught up and hopefully do some scrapping too!

Asa - Welcome to the Daily's it always good to have new blood here LOL!!

Angela - sorry that your day is not going so well! Hopefully your hubby will find some good work soon!! Ouch on the neck thing especially when you have bronchitis!!

Phylis - Yummm on the Easter Bread, I have never attempted to make it, sounds kinda scary!! I would cry lots if it didn't turn out after working on it all day too!! Keeping my fingers crossed that it does and hoping you get some Easter inspiration to do a page!! Would love to see some Phylis beauty in the gallery!!

Have a great day everyone I am off to work for a short 4 hrs and then back here to get caught up on some CheeryO stuff. Enjoy your day !!

Good morning! I cant believe there are snow flurries in my forecast! But I did get a good walk in yesterday! Got a lot of knitting done so I would say I am a little over half done lengthwise. I actually went to the grocery store and cooked. I love Rachael Ray's 30 min meals - so I made Sloppy Joses (lol not Joes) since it was really spicy. And it was but it was really good and easy. My son said it was too hot so I said dont eat it. Then he ate it and said it was really good. LOL. Now today I do not have to cook as I have leftovers.

Chris so glad that Scotts part in the trial is over! I am sure that is a huge relief to you and to him! Have a great day today! Glad the new meds are helping.

Laurie glad you are feeling better and enjoy your day off!

Angela so sorry - hopefully your husband will find another job soon! Hope that neck feels better soon. I am sure the coughing is not helping. Good luck with your son. When my youngest was in after school care he just refused to go and walked home. Kids can be so frustrating.

Phylis good luck with the bread! I just never got the hang of bread baking. My DH makes great breads so I just enjoy his. Miss you pages.

Trudy I know what you mean by not being able to always be their for our kids. No matter how old they get we always want to be the ONE.

Have a great day!

Nancy, this made me laugh out loud:
My son said it was too hot so I said dont eat it.
i love that! did you ever notice that when the onus is on THEM, they'll eat anything that's in front of them, rather than try to have to figure out what to eat themselves and MAKE it??

hi, Jen!

Trudy, i can imagine how you feel. we always want to be available to The Kids. not always possible. but it's hard not to feel bad about it. i seem to remember recently my son wanting me to come down to his house for some reason, (babysitting, i think...)and it was right at a snow/icy time. i told him that i'd be glad to come if the weather was OK. well! he said: i have to KNOW if you can come or not! so i told him to assume that i couldn't and to deal with it in a way he felt comfortable with. i told him that i loved him a lot, but not enough to kill myself in a snowstorm driving over the mountains. duuno why i picked that story to tell. i actually did NOT feel bad about that! i guess it's more of an example of Nancy's Sloppy Jose story! just ignore me....:behindsofa:

Hi ladies!!!!
I should have known that my good mood wouldn't last too long. :/ I had to look at some bills and credit card balances and *poof* there it went. meh! I have a roof over my head (for now) and the credit cards still have a bit of room on the limits..... guess those are good things.............. just ugh.

Anyway I am taking a break. Did 2 loads of laundry, scooped litter boxes, 2 bus stop runs, baked cookies for dessert for my friend tonight, cleaned my kitchen and then drove myself crazy with finances. I think a break is well-deserved.

Laurie- hope the new meds work!!! And don't forget to take probiotics too.

Angela- oh no :( I hope that your day gets better too. What does your hubby do? Will he able to get another job quickly? I hope so. And so sorry to hear about Ben's day too. Its like a roller coaster for sure. One bit that I have learned over time is when they say stuff like that to remember that they feel like they can say it to you because you are safe. I think that they know we love them unconditionally so they can say stuff that hurts us becasue they know it won't change how we feel. If you can remember that while your heart is breaking it helps soften the blows. At least it does for me. hugs!!

Phyllis- yeah I didn't think so deep down. I hope this a$$ doesn't try to appeal, but I bet you are right, and I bet he will. I think I told you that he admitted to molesting this girl but wanted a trial because he can, and is trying to drag this out for the family? I think he would appeal as much as allowed just to continue to be a d***.
Hope that you have a relaxing day on house arrest and fingers crossed your bread comes out great. Don't give up on scrapping, b/c even if you don't feel it, I know it still has to be in there. Sometimes when I get seriously blocked, I have to get new pics, either go out and shoot something (with this :camera: hahah!) or scan really old ones.Maybe that will help you too?

ughughugh...... now Gary wants to have a convo about homeschooling caitlyn. I can't deal with all of this-- I spent 1 1/2 hours yesterday trying to research stuff for college for Scott, I literally cannot do both. :(

Anyway.....so much for my break....

Trudy-- is your ds being deployed far? I hope not. And don't feel guilty! Its not good for you. (But I totally would feel the same :()

Hiiiiii jen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nancy- this winter is the pits! we are supposed to get flurries today and more snow on Monday.
haha about your son, mine do that too.

P- we will never ignore you!!!

I guess I did today's OO's but I sitll want to do yesterdays' too.....

Angela- I don't think there is ever anything relaxing in life any more. Do you feel that way sometimes too? It will get better, it has too :D

Nancy- i heard that the Devils lost on the radio in the morning and I felt so bad for you-- but glad that it was an exciting game for you anyway.

Phyllis- your dinner sounds like it was yummy!

Trudy- ack! That must have been so hard to hear people say crap about YMG as a ref. He must have a thick skin!! But I bet a big sense of fairness and justice as well. He's a Keeper :)

Oh Nana- that's the worst of it, cleaning like that and then it doesn't last
Shoes!! I used to love shoes, but jeez-- those are some good deals.
I know you are going make some cute lo with them.

OMG Sal, what a great way to spend the morning!! Love it!!!!

Terry I don't know what to say except that I am sending hugs and I am thinking of you both.

Hi Asa! Nice to see you in the Ooo's! My dad had his hip replaced and he said the same thing-- had to move the very next day, and they had him in and out of bed and walking and PT. It hurt but healed amazing well.

Phylis glad I made you laugh and to tell you the truth feels good. I keep saying I am a mother not a maid or short order cook. Tough Love!

Chris yes flurries and Monday more but right now for me just cold and cloudy LOL. They put up a graphic yesterday and the weather was in the 70s and high 60s. Talked to my sister this am and she said in AZ that her temp high will be the 80s. They are complaining too hot too soon. I told her to send it east!

Yes my Devils lost and it was a bummer. But I still love them!

Jen - Did you find anyone to come and milk your cows yet??? I am still waiting for Chris to show up to do my weeding in my garden LOL!!

Nancy - I think I saw Rachael Ray make those on tv yesterday, they looked really yummy but she puts in too much hot sauce for my taste!!

Phylis - Thanks for support, I wish I could have told him it was because of the weather, but when its because of work, then it just makes me mad that I have to work and can't just go whenever I want to !! I just want to retire, but MG would be furious!! Screw him!! Right?? Just because he thinks we should work til we die, doesn't mean I think the same way!!

Chris - Sorry that your good mood did not last all day, darn bills  Hope your pizza and beer and cookies put you in a better mood tonight!!

Good evening lOvelies! Sorry that I have been missing in action...again. Been quite a week. The casino fight continues, the soccer club drama continues...and on Tuesday morning I was back at the cardiologist with a fib. They did the EKG and sent me to the cath lab at the hospital...said they were going to have to cardiovert me again. (The a fib had started at 2:00 a.m. and it was 9:30 before I went to the cardiologist.) Got to the cath lab and they got me in a gown and were doing bp and hooking me to a monitor before starting an IV. Guess what...I had converted back to a normal rhythm. They then got another EKG and it was confirmed. So I got to go back to work. Crazy.

Chris, so glad to hear that the trial went well for Scott.

Alegna, so sorry to hear about your husband's job loss. And about your neck problems.

Laurie, this junk is really hanging on huh? But yahoo for the steroids that allow you to have some energy.

Trudy, so sorry to hear that you couldn't go help with the grandkids. And I'm sure that it is much worse for you not being able to help than for your son and grandkids. How is the new ownership at the store? Things going ok?

Phylis, I remember you telling us about your Easter bread last year. I love baking and cooking but I would never have the energy to do two day bread...unless Laurie shared her steroids...

Nancy, love your reply to your son. And love how he changed his mind about the food. Sounds like my kids.

Hi Jen! All the kids well?

I'll try to make it in tomorrow. But I think of you guys everyday and hope things slow down here soon so I can start every morning with my O-friends!
