What a miserable wretch I was yesterday. Just a crummy day. I hope that today isn't as bad because I have two phones calls I need to make to government agencies. I know you get how difficult and frustrating that is.

Scott got accepted into the SCHIP health insurance program that will save us a lot of money toward medical expenses. (Remind me-- I should look into whether he gets Dental with it so I can drop him from that plan and lower the premium). But he received two letters, one dated his Enrollment Date on April 1st- that's cool, I would just have to contact healthcare.gov to take him off of my plan and adjust the premiums on that. He got another letter yesterday saying his Enrollment date was Dec. 2016. The subsidies that we get through the ACA is a pre-payment towards income taxes. So what you are eligible for is based on what they expect you to claim on the following year's return. (For ex. I was given $X.00 to help pay 2016 premiums, but based on my 2016 return, I was eligible for less than that. It was only $29 that I owed back, but one year it was off by $400)
So anyway- my subsidy is based on having 2 people on the plan. And if a person on your plan is eligible for Medicaid they are also not eligible for the subsidy. So whatever I have gotten so far towards our plan might need to be repaid. So that has to be dealt with immediately. (And DT says "Who knew health care was so complicated?"-- well, Duh, everyone!!!)

The other one I need to call is the Heating Assistance Program. My electric bill came and it still doesn't have the assistance applied. This is now 3 months in a row and it adds up. Cripes, it is gonna be a fun day. :frusty:

Add in that my computer is acting like a toddler (or maybe it is me acting that way) and I have to figure out WTH it is doing what it is doing.... Photoshop went wonky and all of my settings went to the default and my Spell check dictionary is now in French. And the Notifications are now popping up every time I get an email or alert. Makes no sense. And why does my delete key give periods instead of deleting? And I lost my Right Click "Paste" function-- but they only happen *some* of the time. blergh!!!

I am actually looking forward to cleaning today so I can get a break from all of this. I can pop in my headphones and dust/vacuum away.

Please tell me that all of you are having better days than me. And of not-- here is something for you

Nancy- that must be fun and interesting to watch the hockey trades going on. Hope that you didn't lose any of your favorite players.
So good to hear that Luther is doing better. The t-storms started here in the morning and they freaked out poor Ray the entire day. She was shaking the whole time the thunder was rolling and glued to me the rest of the day.
I think that the only thing that keeps me on the abx is the knowledge that I feel *much* worse off of them.
Jim Johnson seems to be very environmentally conscious. He opposes the pipeline that is slated to go through the Pine Barrens which is a good sign. Anybody has to be better for our state than Christie hehe!

Trudy- how was the hike, did the weather stay good? Yeah, NJ taxes are really high, and mine are comparatively low compared to the rest of the state.
good news on the diet! Are you allowed chick peas? I make a "Greek" salad with chick peas, red onion, cucumber, a splash of lemon juice, feta and olive oil. It is a good lunch for me.
Happy 7th birthday to Sadie!

Rae- it is nice having your DD around:) Caitlyn told me that in her Human Growth and Dev't class, they are learning about Attachment Styles and she informed that she knew it already but that she has a Secure Attachment Style in relation to me. I told her that she has an "Extreme Secure Attachment." hahah!! How did Jen's training go?
The carafe sounds perfect. I count my water by my 16 oz stainless bottles. I have 4 and I know that I need to drink at least three a day.

Sharon- thanks for the info on the chicken! I was having images of Voodoo sacrifices. Not really but I was confused a bit. :p
Hope that your knees feel better!

PS: Please ignore any typos, my spell check isn't working either.

Good morning the sun is shining and the wind is blowing like a hurricane! Luther and I were blown around the whole walk. And as the wind blows the temperatures are falling. They are even saying snow tomorrow. So funny! Well my team traded two players who had been rumored to be on the trade block - PA Parenteau and Kyle Quincey. I am glad they are going to teams that have real chances of making long runs in the playoffs. We got back a new defenseman and forward. Tonight my team plays the Capitals and I am afraid it will not be pretty. The Caps are really a scarily great team.

Chris good luck with the phone calls. I hate making them because you never get the same person twice so you have to explain all over again the problem and it is just no fun. I am really sorry about the computer. It is not fun when they go wonky and yours is pretty wonky! Enjoy the time with the head phones.

Trudy hope the hike went well and you got all the sun you wanted. Glad you found just the right present for Sadie and yes time goes way too fast. Glad to hear that you are doing well on the diet too! Congrats!

Rae how fun to be having Jen around to hang with and talk with. I am so happy to hear how well you have done.

Sharon I am cracking up on the chicken turning out to be Popeye's. I guess something was lost in translation.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Rain here today and I was running out in my slippers to get some more garbage into the bin at the roadside before the truck came by. Didn't get a lot of sleep last night but I guess I got enough b/c I feel fine. Jen was up 2-3 times throughout the night and Noel (the cat) has decided that he would like to roam the house at night instead of being in the bedroom with Jen so he has been scratching and meowing all night. We don't want to let him out b/c he's been clawing at my chair which now has about 15 cat claw holes in it and now is covered in two blankets. So, no wandering around the house with no one keeping an eye on him. Plus, if he was out, Taz would want to be out and then they both would be running, playing and keeping us all awake. Ugh...our pets can drive us crazy LOL. Of course, Taz pawed at me a few times and then put his nose to the door as if to tell me that Noel was meowing and wanted out LOL. Jen is off for day 2 of training. They seem to like her and she's training almost every day for the next couple of weeks before she starts some regular hours. The manager seems to like her and is personally training her while the other newbies (I think 4 of them) are learning some basic stuff with other employees. So good for Jen. I think this job will be good for her until she is ready to move up the ladder or into another company b/c she would like to use her accounting credentials for admin work. Her hubs has agreed to a monthly payment so hopefully things will go ok for her. She's looking forward to moving into her own place over the next few months although being home with us has been good for her.

Chris - that really sucks about all the convoluted gov't crap you deal with. Ugh. It makes my head spin. I had to laugh about the "extreme secure attachment". I'm pretty sure that would applied to Jen and I LOL.

Nancy - enjoy the game later, hope they play well. Our Canucks haven't really done well for a few years and my hubs has lost his enthusiasm for their games. He gets so frustrated with them, they do well for a few games and then totally blow it. I don't follow sports so I just nod as he talks and lets him vent.

Trudy - how are you doing with your diet changes? I hope you will feel as good as I feel soon, whether it's keto or something else. I have a few hours here and there where I feel a bit yucky (I think I'm still trying to regulate my electrolytes and my body is still adjusting) but 99% of the time I feel amazing, not to mention the weight loss.

I'm going to go call the doctor's office now as I booked an appt to have him see about my sinuses (dry and sore nose) but I woke up this morning and it's almost gone. So I better go cancel that appt for later today.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Morning ladies... a bit stiff and sore today, it was a gruelling hike this week! Even though it was on an old logging road, it was a steady uphill climb for almost 5 miles!! Then part of it through snow!! We could for the most part walk on top of the snow but sometimes we would fall through and it would be up to your knees. By the time we made our way back down the mountain we were all pretty much exhausted! Not quite as scenic as the last hike but still very nice. It rained on us for a bit but the hike down the mountain was rain free and we had a nice lunch at the top and lots of chatting. A good, but tiring day! i hopped into the jacuzzi tub when I got home and soaked for about an hour :becky: I really thought that I would have this great sleep last night, but my mind was awake most of the night. I had my best hour or so of sleep after DH left the bed and slept until 8:15. Ready to get lots done here today and catch up!

Chris - Ughh on the insurance phone calls!! I can't imagine having to do that all the time!! So very frustrating for you! :frusty: Your salad sounds really good, but I am for some reason not a big fan of Greek Salad. My DD loves it, but I don't like the flavour and if the onions are raw I would have to pick them all out LOL, but thanks for the suggestion! WTH is wrong with the people who do your electric assistance, why is it taking so long to show up on your bill?? I honestly think that some people do nothing at their jobs LOL!! Hope that you day is better today and that you get your computer troubles all fixed! How crazy that it is doing those weird things! Is your ghost playing around with you again??

Nancy - You must be having fun with the trades going on! I know my DH is following them very closely! Good luck to your Devil's and tonights game! Yes the Caps are a very good team this year! No sunshine on our hike yesterday, but it wasn't a downpour either, just enough that we were all glad we had our raincoats! Good thing you had your large dog to keep you from blowing away on your walk this morning! Sounds like you have some cold weather blowing in! Hope you don't get the snow!

Rae - You and I could have kept each other company last night as I was awake most of the night also. Yes cats love to roam the house all night being very nocturnal animals and that is horrible that the cat has done damage to your nice chair!! Bad kitty!! The diet is going pretty well I just have a hard time with planning what to have to eat for lunch. DH is loving some of the new recipes I am trying for suppers and I had a great one last night of Parm Chicken all very low carb it was delicious! I don't miss having the rice or noodles or potatoes yet. I need to read more and keep better track of my carb intake. I tried a bullet proof coffee this morning and it was yummy! Hopefully I will do as well as you on the weight loss! Glad to hear that your Daughter is doing well with her training! Will it be hard for her to find a place of her own? It really sounds like there is such a housing shortage over on the mainland! Glad that your sinus problem has cleared itself up and that you don't have to see the Dr.

Sharon - thanks for sharing the chicken story with us, we were all quite confused by it LOL!

Ok better hit the shower and get this day going full steam! Have an awesome day everyone

Went to the store today-our US Naval Base Post Exchange- (like a general store) and the Commissary (grocery store) 3 hours and $600 later, I am exhausted. I can't figure out why I am in such pain...this is not normal...things have been so good. My daughter came with me...that's why the amount is so high...ha ha.

Not feeling the best. I think I am going to lay down. Have a good day everyone.
