Guess what? It is the Spring Equinox! Happy spring to everyone.:hippie:
Spring always makes me happy. If I have to be social-distancing/quarantining, this is the time of year to do it. Can you imagine if I/all of us had to do this in the winter? That would be a bad deal for me.

Yesterday was a decent day. Not too much anxiety poked through. It helped so much that I was able to get outside a bit. It was chilly but sunny and I was ok as long as I stayed in the sun. There are so many acorns and I was scooping them into a bucket to get them off of the plants popping up. I was able to clear off some leaves and dead stalks too. It felt wonderful to be out there. It is too early and cold to see critters so no worms or bugs came to say hi to me. But they will! No need to social distance from the bugs, thank goodness.

Not much else happened. Scott is having a tough time, he really misses Leah I think. He was hoping to meet up for a hike with her but they decided against it. Caitlyn sent all of the info from the preschool director about the false report to the college but the health director said that her quarantine still needs to stand. It stinks but it makes sense that the school can't go on "hearsay" type reports one way or the other.
The baby rats are supposed to be getting spayed tomorrow and I don't know if she has made a decision about that or not.

My big plans for today are working on taxes this morning and then "suiting up" to pick up my groceries this afternoon. It is raining so no plans to get out in the yard at all.

My gratitudes for today:
- My mom is letting me use her credit card to pay for my groceries. That helps both me financially and her mentally that she has one less thing to worry about.
- That today is the official first day of spring and that the winter wasn't too cold.
- that my brother sent me some cute pics of my nephew yesterday

hugs to everyone!

Rae- I am glad to hear that D is home. That is really smart and considerate of his company. I don't know if any stores near you are doing Senior Hours, there are some here that are doing that. You are gonna need to bring ID however since you do not look over 60! LOL
Are you on any kefir forums? You might ask around and see if someone can send you grains and make your own kefir at home. I did that a few years ago and it isn't hard at all to maintain them.
I hope that you will be able to keep working and if not that your country is going to help.
Good for you to set aside that "me time." That is going to be critical. And yup, everyone needs that meltdown day at some point. Maybe even more than one ;) As long as we pick ourselves up/ask for help to get up at the end of it.
I am grateful for Taz too cuz I *love* seeing his sweet face and fluffy ears.

Trudy- I started a thread for some online resources for kids, maybe something there will help Heather with the boys.
It must be so hard to have your kids away from you. I know it is hard for my mom which is why I am not fighting her about using her credit card for my groceries.
Did Jonah have any luck getting the things she needed? I hope that they did.
I saw the new paintings you did, I love the colors! Did you happen to see the teardrop painting that Leah posted? I am in awe of the creativity.

Nancy- hehe, I never thought it would be an advantage but I am finding that my life hasn't changed much as all with everyone being home. Having Gary mostly housebound for so many years- I am used to having him underfoot LOL
How is DH doing with teaching online? Does he lecture live or record and upload?
It has to be so strange, especially with so little time to practice and prepare.
I was thinking about the same thing, my hair is gonna be a MESS!

Kay- there is much uncertainty in everything... Glad that you are all set to stay home. That is cute that you fell asleep with glasses and everything. Yes, you needed that nap. You will chuckle at this, I am way more panicked about not having enough books to read than not enough TP!

jean- your avi is soooo restful and peaceful I feel like I could stare at it forever. An excellent choice!
Caitlyn and I are plowing through puzzles. We redid the one you sent me last year in 2 days. The new one we got the other day-- it will be done today-- in 3 days. Uh-oh!
Good luck with your white background. I hope that the pieces are shaped differently enough.
I am glad that the posts are helping you. I don't want to be overdone so I didn't do that this morning. But here you go, just for you ;)
*breathe in....... and out......... innnnnnn and ouuuuuut....*
(I needed that too!)
Thanks for the bird link, I am going to check it out! BTW- MIL said that the bird swarm we had was starlings. So many of them.
I understand how losing your cat made you feel. My baby in that photo did the same to me. I was gutted. I still am, but like you, I can talk about her, scrap her and it makes me smile as much as her loss makes me sad. She was my baby, my soul mate.
Sorry that your future husband Colin Morgan got married to someone other than you

Hugs!!!

Felis- Nah, I don't think it is bad, there have been so many jokes about how this is the time that Introverts have been waiting for. ha!! Honestly, I didn't notice any acne- just you being cute with your kitty! Congrats on the prizes!!

good morning - well the boys are home and each is in his own space doing their work. My husband is using Zoom to teach. My son last night did a good deed and ordered take out from our favorite restaurant and he said they were so thankful. So for that I am grateful that it was possible for us to do this small thing. I hope we can do this small thing once a week. Still watching Downton Abbey but in the evenings I try something else. Waiting for the rain to end and then we will walk Luther. Tomorrow it is to be in the 70s and the first day spring!

Chris I agree being outside so helps. Sorry about Scott! It is hard on my DH's students and faculty so I can imagine everyone is going thru this upheaval.

Kay hope you enjoyed your PJ day. Always good to listen to our bodies and get rest when needed. I am like Chris and I am afraid that I will run out of books.

Trudy I am seeing on twitter that all new stay at home homeschooling parents are learning just how hard teachers and stay at home parents work. Heather I am sure is doing a great job especially with you facetiming with the boys. And like Rae has said it is ok to take me time!

Rae you are smart to set aside time for just you. I am sure that Taz is loving the walks.

Jean thanks for the link. I love the Cornell site.

Felis enjoy this time! It is not wrong.

Have a great day.

Morning ladies... No facetime with the boys today, they are out at their other Grandma's having a picnic on their property. They have a large piece of property about 15 mins away from Heather and Jonah. It will be good for all of them to be outside in the fresh air! I think that they are going to try to get some groceries today also. So far there are no cases in their area, sure hope it stays that way! So today I will keep busy with doing some scrapping and painting. I hope to get in another nice walk in the sunshine today!

Chris - Happy Spring to you also! I hope that you are enjoying your time with your kids and hooray for being able to get outside and do some cleaning up. Yes I have picked up so many pine cones too! One big garbage full and two large buckets yesterday. Our backyard looks so much better now. My daffodils are tall and will soon be blooming and it is good to see the Camilla is now out in full bloom! My clematis will be next, I just love springtime even with all this craziness going on! Our province now has over 200 cases of Covid19. Sounds like the young people everywhere are not taking this seriously and are out partying?? WTH?? I should send you the puzzle that I got made of Gary and I in France at Mont Saint Michel. I will have to see if I still have it or if I gave it MIL and FIL to try to do. Hope you get your taxes done today, good luck with your grocery shopping!

Oh I am getting a call from SIL Linda, so I will get back here in a bit to catch up with everyone else! CYL!!

Ok I am back, SIL needed me to order something from Amazon with my Prime membership. I think I have convinced her that she would do well to get one for herself, she sends lots of gifts to her grands in Alberta and she would save so much in postage. Not that I mind ordering for her, but if we are going to be shut in for much longer she might consider getting her own membership. Anyway where was I ??

Nancy - Hope that your men get through the work day without any technical difficulties! They are so fortunate that they can work from home! How nice to get the take out meal and yes I bet the restaurants are grateful for every order that they get! I can't believe that you have never seen Downtown Abby!! Isn't it great! Now we have to watch the movies and I suppose with all that is happening in the world it will be a long time before we get to see any new ones! DH is sure missing his hockey and so am I, but it is nice to be able to sit out on our deck and just enjoy each others company in the sunshine again. Yes it is difficult to be a stay at home Mom and still try to get the kids some kind of education! Heather has given Mason the week off of school work as this would have been his spring break week anyway, but next week will put him to work on his lessons. Sounds like the school year is all done anyway and everyone will be getting a pass and going to the next grade, whenever that will be. What a crazy time!!

Jean - thanks for link and I will sure have to check it out! I see you can visit all the Museums online and do a virtual tour of them here is a link if you are so inclined... https://www.cnn.com/style/article/w...-museums-concerts-coronavirus-trnd/index.html. Nice to see the Louvre without the horrible crowds to fight!

Rae - So happy that you are able to enjoy some me time, it is good that the weather has been so nice for you and Taz to be out for your lovely walks! Not so sunny today but sounds like the next few days will be great! Nice that your DH is home with you and I sure hope you are able to find the beef that you are looking for! I have no idea what the stores are like this week, but do know that there are no spots for online pick up in our area! Hope that we have a good shopping experience this weekend!

Felis - I am so happy for you that you are enjoying this time to just catch up on your sleep and I too understand the feeling of losing your precious kitty! It is good for the soul to scrap some pages about him though! Sorry your new black kitty is not so social, but perhaps in time it will be. Had to laugh about your future husband getting married on you :pound:

Ok off to the shower and then I will get some scrapping done and get my challenge ready for the party. It should be a great time and a good way for us all to take our minds off of what is happening in the world! Enjoy your Thursday ladies!!

Afternoon, all. Grocery shopping this afternoon was an experience. Most things we wanted were in stock but they have no pork or rice. TP and such we knew wouldn't be there but the pork was a surprise. Just hope we kept safe enough. Last night we finished the puzzle. It is so delightful, titled "The Owl of Infinite Wisdom Tells the Garden What Time It Is" and while the photo is poor, maybe it'll give you a smile:

Chris, it is indeed now spring. DH said it smelled a bit like spring outside. Thanks for the in and out as I needed it! Kids might like some of the bird things from yesterday's link as there are nest and feeder cam links in there (https://www.allaboutbirds.org/cams/barred-owls/ links to a barred owl nest cam and the page has links to many others.) Hope your grocery pickup was good and cheers for letting mom put it on her credit card. Going through the puzzles so fast is a problem. We still have 3 new ones here and I think at least two will be hard. Scott being used to the outdoors must find this time especially hard. Looked at Leah's Instagram and find the teardrop one intriguing. What did she use as the base?

Nancy, at least I know about Zoom. Your DH can get interaction with that platform, so I'm assuming it's live instruction. I'm thinking I need to learn how to do some form of online thing for one of my genealogy groups, but haven't quite gotten to the point of finding a platform. Getting out with Luther will make things better for you I'm sure. We are mostly just watching the birds and critters in the yard. The goldfinches are beginning to look more yellow every day. As you all are missing hockey I'm missing spring training and the normal coming of baseball. Does the NHL channel replay good games?

Trudy, love your avi and that happy photo. Thanks for the link to museums and things. Looks like some I will want to see. Even some zoos in the list. Bet the boys and Heather will have enjoyed the picnic. Hope they got in more groceries and that you have good luck this weekend. Hope to see more of your painting. The party here should keep us busy too.

Felis, you can see a skin condition in the photo but the rest of us can't. All we see is two cuties, you and your dear kitty. Enjoy the sleeping and keep dancing..

Gratitudes...
I'm glad we found so much at the grocery
it is wonderful that so much is already online and that folks keep adding more
and that it is officially spring
and the party is about to begin.

Good morning, lOvelies!
It's obvious that I had nothing to share, as I slept the whole day yesterday, but my posts usual are so long and messy and I already had so lovely wake up, so I feel I have what to say based on your personal notes!

Happy spring, Chris! Spring always makes me feels extremely tired. Good luck with the rats getting spayed! I don't see needs to rush, but from other side if the folks continued to break the quarantine rules, as now it's happens here, we don't know for how long and how strict this will stay. So better do it early, than sorry, I guess. I saw the things that Leah posted on IG, she is so talented, so disappointing that her show was canceled!
By the way you are messed my note, with this to Jean, but it's not a big deal! Yes, I'm heartbroken, 2 years ago I got tickets to Colin's play, I had glamorous dress and plan how to go for autograph and meet him, and then happy ever after  . But in the time to go, my fostered cats got sick and I had very hard time, so cancels everything. I can't remember did the friend who was bought these tickets for us and used it to take others on that play are met him or not. I think they aren't even try. However on next years I was too poor for vacation like this. And now bam he is married for his coworker! Grrr! Yet I wish them lot of happiness, but the ST.Patric day is forever banned in my house! L O L LOL My friends are jerks anyway, last summer they was on Miles Kane concert without me, even they know that I'm his groupie, and practically they know about him, because of me! So one cancelled cruise is nothing to compare with me!!!

Nancy, hope you got your nice time for Luther's walk! Does weather allows you to left him at the yard already? I'm able to do this at afternoons, but mornings are still so cold. Also did he tries to be co-teacher at your husband live lessons :) ?

Trudy, this is nice advice for your sister! I always force mine to order things for me on her account too  ! Kids here are on online school, and lots of our acquaintance already secretly shared on WhatsApp how much they hate this situation LOL.

Jean, this puzzle is so pretty! I have to go back and see your link about birds for it everybody talks about, but I'm missed! Hope your stores get charging soon! Oh, so the genealogy groups will go online too? Hmm, this sounds challenging, but maybe then even more people will can join, these who can't come physically, because they lives on longer distance?

Gratitudes for today so far:
 I wake up just to hear the new song released, for which I was waiting, and the tune is soo COOL, I love it!
 opened my PM box and found that I'm won the kit I wanted most!!! I'm already winner, before party to start! I'm told this before, but $10 are lot of money for my country, it's one t-shirt or 2 boxes of really good coffee, or my monthly bill for internet connection, or I don't know, it's a lot.
I'm so grateful to all designers for their generosity!!!
