The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
One week left to go in June. That feels kind of strange. It's going too fast for me even while I am so cold. It isn't as bad this morning as it was yesterday but it is still only 56* Brr.

Update on the PS action- Wendy popped into the thread and it turns out that her action would only get me as far as what I was able to do on my own. But then Jenn/Joyful Heart mentioned something about EPS files and I might have to see what they are all about. *G*

I had a good day yesterday, I made it through food shopping while not getting too angry at anything. After lunch, I went into the front garden and clipped back all of the lilies of the valley that were done for the season. The monarda and coneflowers are going to bloom in a bit and they need lots of room and circulation or they will get powdery mildew. The L'sotV are in front (and surrounding, those babies can spread!) of them so it's good to get that done now. I also have to keep my eye on the aphids. Last year they ate a lot of the leaves and I have seen a few of them so far but not too many. I should ask Scott if there is somewhere local I can buy ladybugs to eat the aphids.
This season is the year of the trees growing in unexpected places- we have a maple sapling growing in the bucket of ferns in the pond and I moved a tulip tree sapling from the front area to the side. Hopefully, it will take in its new place.

Scott came home from his vacation just on time for dinner and it sounded like he had a really amazing time. he had us ROTF with some of the stories including wearing a wedding dress at a Good Will store. It was wonderful to have him back, I missed him -

Today I have to start making a couple of things for Casino Night and some rice pudding for my dad for Father's Day. And yes, his card too. I got one started, it needs some (a lot of) work. Caitlyn and I are running to the liquor store at some point to find some cheap booze.

Hope you have a fun day ahead of you! Hugs~

@tanteva What long couple of days you had. I saw your last post here and am happy that you are ready to rock again! A good night's sleep can do wonders. Or so I have heard. *winks*
Nosy question- do you and Urban share a car? Gary and I share "my" car and we can usually wrangle one of the kids' cars if we both need one at the same time. My town has no transit within the town and the NJ Transit is good to get you to New York City if you want it to take 2+ hours haha!! We also have no sidewalks. OK, that is an exaggeration. We have approx 1/4 mile of sidewalk in the (huge air quotes) "center" of town which is basically a parking lot with the supermarket, a few banks/liquor stores/pharmacies, and a pizzeria in it. Not conducive to walking anywhere.
But seriously- good for you to walk that far, I would have probably given up halfway through. I am happy that you treated yourself to some candy- gotta replenish all of the calories you burned up with that walk.
Enjoy your days of doing nothing!
(Is "nothing" Swedish" for "scrapping" or is it for "knitting?")

@Hi @Cherylndesigns What color did you get your toes done? How nice to have pedis together. Your feet deserve to get spoiled, you do too! Caitlyn is feeling the same with her nails. She used to put on glue on tips. Since lockdown, she let them grow out and is finally happy that they are strong and healthy again. It has to be an adjustment going from FL to being in the wilderness of OK but so worth it.
Give some love to Daisy for me!

Wishing everyone a fantastic day!

Yes we have only one car. Mainly because only one in the family has a driving licence. Shocked? LOL Even if public transportation isn't very good here where we live, in general it's really good in Sweden. Also - we do walk a lot more in this country, I think, than in America. Or bicycles are very common. We didn't even get a car until 9 years ago, but we're a bit odd there. Most people do have cars here, we're just "strange city folks". When we lived in a bigger town, it was completely no need for a car. And even now that we have a car, Urban usually (when it's not a pandemic and we're asked to avoid public transport as much as possible) go to work with the bus, and leave the car at home. We're environmental nerds.

so ... I'm used to walking. I walk whenever I need to go somewhere, unless it's to work, since that is in another town, and grocery shopping (if it's lots & heavy). Now I usually go in with Urban, even though he starts a couple of hours earlier than me. Just to avoid public transport. I bring something to do until I start working, Usually, I get my letters written during this time.

Oh - and "nothing" is short for "eating-watching TV-eating-knitting-eating-crocheting-eating-scrapping-eating" :D

@tanteva I am searching through my old emails for a credit card statement and found one from you in 2012:
I'm looking for good quotes to scrap, and found this. Made me think of your daughter :)

Good afternoon Sweet O's.

Chris @faerywings I know Caitlin is happy she got her nails off! It's a PITA to have to go in every 4 or 5 weeks. One less thing to worry about. I always go super light - the grow out doesn't show so much. I used to have white nails and white toe nails in Florida. I love white - it really looked good with my tan. BWAHAHA No worries about that here. In Florida, you just had to have a pedi to look good in flip flops, which is all I ever wore. I hated thinking about having to wear shoes when we moved here, but I'm getting used to it. My flip flops are all back out, but I can't wear them on the roads I walk on - too many rocks. Ouch! Oh, I get an almost white pink now. Very light and natural. I take my own - it's Essie Fiji. Cait would probably love it! Ballet Slippers is pretty, too - it's a little more pink. Adrienne usually gets the same color, but she's on a "blue kick" right now. I'm not a fan, but I act like I am. She went with a little lighter shade of blue this time and I do like it better.

Yes, it's a different world here - in Florida, no matter how many people were waiting, they hustled and got everybody taken care of. They used to do a pedi and have someone doing your fingernails at the same time. Hahaha Here, most don't even take appointments. I'm going to sign off. Adrienne just called and wants me to go look at wall art with her. Dang! We're going to the same place where my "dream picture" is! I hope it's been sold by now.

Hugs and waving to all.

Wow, what a day... started off on the warm side and got up to 92*. Around 3PM, I was scraping a page when I heard thunder in the distance. Looked out and the wind was howling and the sky was dark. Saw my trash bin that was in the street for pick-up was empty but had been blown over and down in front of my neighbor's house. Quick dash out to get it and put up against the garage where it is sheltered. The rain was just starting so only got slightly damp. Temp fell from 92* down to 72* in less than 10 minutes!!! I was able to open up the front, family room and master bedroom doors plus a couple of windows without having the rain blow in. It felt like heaven to enjoy the cool breezes. Unfortunately it didn't last very long - only got about 1/2" of rain. It is back up to 81* now. The good thing is that there is some blue skies and I can actually see the mountain clearly - no smoke haze!!! We have another 2 days of hot temps - then a cool/cold front is coming in with rain again and temps will be in the high 70's for a few days. Will be a big relief to have it cooler.

Cheryl, I hear you about nail tips... I had some on several years ago and it took a few months for the nails to recover. Don't need them now as my nails grow long and strong. I was wearing nail polish all the time until Covid hit and I stopped going places. Might polish them for next month's Red Hat Chapter gathering. DD#1 used to give me a pedi - she was a licensed manicurist - but she is not living here any more. I have had so much trouble with my feet the last several years that it hurts to have anyone rub them. So no more pedis for me. I am with you... I don't like the blues, blacks and greens that girls are doing. I tend toward the light colors - pinks, etc.

Time to get some supper... CYL
